[The Kathol Outback]: Dominion of Jelucan Hex

The Force was her guide, not her eyes. Her hearing confirmed that she was on the right track. A fire team of confederate soldiers and some kind of droid fire support unit. If she closed to within ten metres or so they would see her through the storm. Possibly from further away depending on what sensors they had.

Tilzi hung the hilt of her saber from her belt and dropped to one knee. In one smooth motion she pulled her energy bow from her back. She thumbed the activation switch on the riser of the bow.

Another deep breath to calm her nerves. The soldiers were just shadows in the storm. Tilzi pressed her eyes shut against the grit and sand and free her bow. A final adjustment of aim and she loosed. She was already drawing the next shot when she heard the droid drop from the air. Each shot was followed by a distinct sound as the energy bolt struck home.

Tilzi pulled her saber from her belt and went to finish the job.

Minutes later

"This is Tilzi Marte," she called breaking comm silence. "The scouts in the east are pulling back." Blaster fire could be heard in the background. "We've done what we can to slow the advance of this flank, but they've dismounted more troops to route us. Those walkers are coming in."

Panic had started to set in on 35. Even though droids were incapable of emotion, he was still passionate about saving lives. Even if this cost him his own life, it was his programmed duty to care for those in need. He began to run the calculations through his head.
"I've got a small chance to live 1-100 I'd say. But these men, they can't die! I must save them!"
35 slowly got up out of the broken metal and made his way to the cockpit. The pilots were dead and the controls were nearly destroyed. A call suddenly came in from a man named Cody Bantam. He said he could help 35 save these men.
"Oh thank you sir! Alright, tell me what I need to do to save these men and your own base!"
35 hadn't ever flown before, but had seen plenty of it to have a little bit of knowledge. He grabbed the controls as the orders flowed in.

From above, a second level balcony overlooking the ballroom proper, the young clone in the Levantine Academy uniform looked down over the gala.

Miss Joza had gotten fat!

Seriously, that was a whooooole lot of pink. Did she had those back up sirens that commercial freighters did? You know, the ones that went beep, beep beep when backing down into a docking bay? If not, she probably needed them. That was like a land-whale-Zeltron thing.

Mister Bryce had a scruffy face now. Especially next to Kimiko, who looked kinda whatever. Pretty? Maybe, if you liked girls or were into that sort thing.

...No, eww, and gross, in that order, by the way.

Though, looking at what agents they had in the field, at least now maybe weapon procurement wouldn't be as big of a deal. When they found whatever Imperial bad-dude they were here to find, they could just have Miss Joza sit on him.

It'd crush him! To death!

If any of Ki's "security" detail could be honest right now, they would voice their obvious amusement at their leader's flustered state. They had never seen her attempt to act so formal and have the academy's younger graduates seeing if they could get an in with her supposed royal standing. Between the nine of them, they had even started placing bets on some the ways they would try.

Kimiko, on the other hand, was having an increasingly difficult time keeping her head. These needy and greedy boys, some less sober than others, were giving it their best to win her hand. They had told her everything from being part of royalty themselves, to offering powerful military alliances. She still conversed with all the grace she could, subtly turning them down one after another. A majority of them were commenting her on her exotic appearance, and the genuine bashfulness at the compliments added to her charm...which wasn't helping her at all.

During her "excursions", she managed to spot her allies throughout the event, and then she saw her target. Subconsciously, her visible tail moved a little faster, and her ears perked up. Chika caught the sign, and in near perfect unison, Ki's escorts set up their perimeter, and they moved together. Shooing any more attempts at their leader until they reached the Commandant.

He was conversing with some her allies as she approached, Ki gave a subtle nod, and began her royal distraction show,"Commandant, my parents send their best regards, and might I add, what a truly magnificent event you have arranged for the evening."

PARTS UNKNOWN
YT-2400 Light Freighter Alderaan Queen

The ship was hard down on the surface of...

Well, where ever here was.

It was a little eerie. The power was irregular at best. The cryogenic power cells were probably ruptured, which could spill out into the environment of the planet and do some damage. So the young Anzat had shut down the main power in order to isolate the primary systems. So the ship was pitch black. He'd opened the cargo bay, revealing the star-filled sky outside through the jagged tear that cut a large swatch through the kathor-armored durasteel of the ship's hull.

He wasn't really sure just what the Qektoth had hit him with, but he was lucky it had just been a glancing strike. A direct hit, and he'd have been a cloud of dust over Kal'shebbol...

A chill in the air began to permeate the interior of the breached freighter, prompting the boy to don the heavy weight green cloak. Drawing it around himself, the small Anzat sat on the warped, buckled deck plating of the cargo bay and stared through the tear up out at the skyline. He could feel lifeforms moving around the ship. At a safe distance, but there.

Not only was this is a life sustainable planet, but there was wildlife present. It made, sense, then that there would be a colony of some kind here.

In any event, he'd find out tomorrow when he went looking for it.

For now, the boy rose from off the floor with a large yawn. The sleeves of the robes slipped back along his arms, as he raised his hands to rub at his eyes, sleepily. Making his way through the interior of the ship, the boy arrived at the door to his cabin.

The door stuck against the immobile frame, as the child knight used the Force to pry open the cabin in the absence of electrical power to assist with the movement. A field lantern cast pale light off the bulkhead and ceiling. Inside, he'd fashioned a blanket and pillow fort between the normal bunk and the desk that occupied the cramp space. A sleeping bag and a few toys littered around the fort. Sliding out of the robe, the boy let the garment fall in a heap on the floor before turning around and using his hand to guide the motion of sliding the door shut with the Force.

The sound of metal grinding against metal whined sharply as the door closed.

His HoloBoy Advanced sat on the desktop across the room. It's battery drained as it searched, in vain, for a HoloNet signal.

Sitting back on top of his cloak-pile, the child knight tugged off his boots and then began stripping down to his undergarments. When he had, he dropped onto all fours and crawled inside of his pillow fort. Squeezing inside of the sleeping bag, the boy propped himself up on top of his pillow as he reached out to play with a handful of action figures. That occupied him for a short time, before the tow-headed boy was face down on the pillow and dozing quietly.

Given that she was nearly full term, moving around had become a bit difficult but the Zeltron persisted towards Tiberius with a bright smile plastered onto her face. “Commandant Tiberius…w-wow, you’re even taller in person!” Giggling girlishly, she feigned a flush of embarrassment as she clutched Matt’s arm. While normally she would try and suss out what type of woman her target had a weakness to, time was limited and thus she went for the doe-eyed star struck approach.

The Commandant seemed to respond favorably, though looked momentarily taken aback by the woman’s protruding stomach. “Charmed, darling. No need to be shy.” Taking the woman’s pink hand delicately, he winked before lowering his head to brush his lips against it. This only made Joza giggle more, bringing her free hand to her face in faux mortification. How she dearly needed a drink to stomach this sort of man and forget her own behavior.

As her hand was released, Joza brought it up to Matt’s chest. “This is my friend, Matt Smith.” She smiled coquettishly, making sure to flutter her lashes almost too much. There was an art to seduction, and frankly it was too taxing on her right now, but she’d do what was necessary to get the job done. That was, until Kimiko approached the Commandant and introduced herself. The man’s interest seemed to shift entirely from the pregnant Zeltron and her date to the exotic looking noblewoman before him. Joza observed the way his eyes glittered for a few moments before and idea popped into her head.

“Thank you, Lady Kimiko. And might I say, the festivities may be magnificent, but they pale in comparison to your unmatched beauty.” With a broad smile, Tiberius took her slender hand in his own and placed a chaste yet lingering kiss on the soft skin.

Joza almost gagged. Before things could go any further, she turned towards Kimiko with that same bright smile. “Oh! It’s been so long! How’ve you been, dear?” Rather forward, the rotund Zeltron pulled the Kitsune woman into a hug. As she did so, she slipped a small packet of Synox powder into the folds of fabric at her chest with deft movements. “Slip it into his drink.” Murmuring into her ear, the brief message was all Joza would give before pulling away. Taking Kimiko’s hand, she placed it on her stomach. “The baby is almost here. He’s kicking right now, can you feel it?” An excited grin spread over her face as she tried to build a façade of friendship between the two women. Hopefully Kimiko would play along.

The glint in Tiberious’ eyes was one she’d grown accustomed to seeing—it was the look someone had when they saw something they wanted. The Hapan Kitsune would have a better chance of offing Tiberius if she played her cards right. And the poison she’d covertly slipped the young woman was notorious for being indistinct to the senses and metabolizing quickly. If successfully administered, Tiberius would be dead by the end of the night.

Watching the Commandant and Joza with Kimiko he stood there and smiled his eyes like the Commandant but not for the noblewoman, he was eyeing the Zeltron that stood before him. He had figured out her ball game by his involvement in it and saw the sly movement she had made and the moves she was doing on the poor man. His eyes were fixated on her as he stood there his lips slightly moved in a smile as he sipped on his wine more and watched the woman work.

He slowly walked forward as Joza made Kimiko feel her belly as he grabbed her other hand softly squeezing it a little, but he cleared his mind thinking about the job and not about her he let go and stepped back into place behind her and next to the man as he eyed what was Kimiko and he kept his eyes on Joza still. He continued to wtch the women standing alongside the commandant.

Walking out of the LAAT looking at all the troops knealing by the LAAT he walked over by the pilots side of the LAAT and slammed three times on the hull near him. BOOM BOOM BOOM He barely saw the pilot nod as he started lifting off back up into space as he looked around at the circle of men in front of him.

"Rally Up! It's time to move into the storms, for those of you who aren't apart of my marines, get your own foxholes, but you get the privileged of digging your own, so if you need to find a partner. I want a zig-zag formation down the line facing the enemy. You two with the light sticks get in one of the front ones. Stay in your lines and don't cross fire or you might hit one of the light stick users and we don't want to get them angry boys. Also, stay in your foxhole unless I say otherwise, got me? Good."

Not waiting for their answer he swung the harness for his blaster rifle around and held it in his hands walking towards the brewing sandstorm in front of him, not looking back but knowing that the men that were behind him were following him. His scarf made it hard to breath but it was better then breathing in sand when they got in there. He did a mental check of his equipment leading the way into the sandstorm that could be his last resting place, or the moment of his glory.

The 'fresher lived up to its name. Much relieved, Ajira re-emerged into the ballroom proper. She lingered at the drinks table, selecting two tumblers of iridescent punch: one for her and the other for her old friend Jaemes Tiberius. She'd actually known him in both lives, though she doubted he'd intuited the connection. As a young man, he'd crossed her path in her Vagrant Fleet days, after she'd been deposed as Sith Empress but before the Lords of the Fringe. Ajira Cardei, the real Ajira, had known him from an ODF mission back in the day. Ashin/Ajira's former experiences with him had let her fill in the blanks about the latter. Though she had the original Ajira's journals and a portion of her memories, Ashin/Ajira simply didn't know everything her cousin had known. So far, however, she had yet to run into any real difficulty relative to her impersonation efforts.

As a resource, Tiberius was invaluable. Theed Hangar had been tasked with expanding and improving the Naboo naval tradition, and Tiberius had been running a naval academy for years now.

From the perspective of the punchbowl, Commandant Tiberius was out of sight. Ajira moved to the hors d'oeuvres, stacking a napkin as she scanned the ballroom. Something unusual tickled at the back of her mind. It felt like mass deception, as if a good fraction of the people here had some sort of ulterior motive. She couldn't get details; she'd never been much good at sensing things, and if she dug deep she'd risk being sensed herself. But something was just not right, and she couldn't say what.

Ah, there was Tiberius, surrounded by socialites and sycophants, and loving it. Ajira headed that way, though it would take her a while to reach him.

Chika held in a gag.
Riko blushed furiously.

Ruby did her best not to scream.
Hanamaru watched in awe.
Yoshiko began a dark summoning ritual.
Mari locked dreamy eyes with a less than impressed Kanan.
And Dia crossed her arms and pretended nothing was happening.

a.k.a. the "security"

The Commandant greeted Kimiko with all the respect of her apparent position and the compliment followed by the contact heated her cheeks. Her response to the flattery was well rehearsed and appropriate given the scenario.

Kimiko's eyelids fluttered and her free hand covered her mouth in faint dramatics,"My my Commandant, your reputation most definitely precedes you. Mother warned me of your charming skills." a giggle was added for extra effect.

Their introduction was not so rudely interrupted by Joza entrapping her in a rather friendly embrace,"Joza-nee! It has been so long!" the woman barely registered the small packet being placed until it's depositor said her words.

Thinking fast, Kimiko feigned mortification to cover up the whispering, thankful when her hand was guided to the other woman's stomach,"No-Nothing is certain in those matters! Mou Joza-nee, don't tease me so. You know how much mother and father press me for grandchildren." her eyes widened however when she felt the subtle bump of the baby-to-be hit his mother's stomach, and she gave her the best and most affectionate smile she could.

She did feel a pang of jealousy of the woman regardless. She'd talk to her after this ordeal.

Tiberius was getting antsy and it wasn't long before her cut back in between the two,"Now I see we are all acquainted, may I give the Princess a more formal tour of the facilities? I would prefer to do so in private, your security can stand by, if you would allow?" his grin and raised brow gave Ki bad thoughts, but she pressed on with the request.

"Commander Tikami, take your security and enjoy the rest of your night." she gave to her commander with a warm smile.

"As you wish, my princess." Chika responded with a bow before retreating with the other eight.

Tiberius turned back to the "princess" and offered his arm,"My Lady?"

And Kimiko took the offered arm, and with a subtly sad but cheerful farewell, he began his "tour" dragging his quarry by his side.

Dax moved as the Commander barked his orders, risig from his knees and marching into the sandy blizzard. Now in the maelstrom, Dax knew exactly why they'd chosen to make their stand here and now. He could barely see three meters in front of himself. And if he couldn't that meant, the enemy couldn't either. The only issue was if Dax decided to use his sabers, he'd become a glowing target for everyone to shoot at.

Dax chose a spot roughly three meters away from the nearest ally. Someone friendly at the edge of his vision. Just in case. Unhooking the shovel from his belt Dax stabbed the hard packed earth and groaned. This would take a while....

John gave the orders, and the men complied, moving off to begin hunkering down in their own little fox-holes. "You wanna 'buddy up'?" Leo asked, that cocky smirk once again making itself apparent. He'd never met this guy, but he was willing to 'make good' if that's what John wanted. This was embarrassing. He was given one task, and he was late, Very late. Of course, he would've wanted to go with his other companions to the front lines, but he was told right as he got his things packed that the choice was his and that they should be fine. Contrary to what most would expect, the ball sounded much better than getting stomped on by a rather large walker.

Practically jumping out the car, he ran his hands over his suit, something out the many wrinkles that had just appeared after such a display. Again, being as late as he was, the line to get in was gone, only the security remained outside, their gazes boring into him. They looked him up and down, silent. "You should take a picture, it'd last longer." He spoke softly, his burning eyes holding the smallest hint of mischief behind the inferno. Now their turn to be embarrassed, the did a thorough check for any weapons, finding none, he was ushered inside.

He was greeted by the sounds of many sharing conversation, the smell of expensive perfume and some rather tipsy women. Not being one to roped into such a mess, he sidestepped, before moving on. Scanning the crowd, he found it see anyone other than the young @3X774, atop the balcony that overlooked the entire room. Taking his long strides, he approached the young boy, his much smaller frame beside him. "Hello 3X... Marvelous night tonight, huh?" His eyes scanning the room, looking for a few particular faces. Finding none, he crossed is arms, the fabric stretching around his forearm. "You know where everyone is at?"

Tilzi came skidding to a halt in a forward position the resistance had dug themselves into. Blaster bolts hissed through the air above her head in both directions. Keeping her head down for a few seconds she waited until her head had stopped spinning.

The walkers were still a distance behind, but the first serious confederate forces had arrived. Only the fire support from positions behind them had prevented Tilzi and the other scouts from being gunned down in their retreat.

The night sister took up her energy bow once more. There were several firing positions behind her. She couldn't tell exactly where they were through the swirling dust storms, but someone had been digging in since Tilzi had moved out of the settlement.

Marvelous... what?

"How can a night be marvelous?" the child posed, echoing the words of the greeting back up at the man. It was night. That meant it was dark and he couldn't play outside. What was marvelous about all that? "It's just night!"

Once again, adults were weird.

"You know where everyone is at?"

"Maybe," the boy answered. He didn't know where everyone everyone was, because he didn't know everyone. Just some people. But he knew where some people were. "Who ya lookin' for?"

Joza smirked inwardly in satisfaction as Kimiko played right along without missing a beat. Pretty and smart, it seemed.

“Oh, don’t by so shy, dear. You’ll be ready for them soon enough.” Squeezing the other woman’s hand, she gave her a knowing wink and tried not to gag on her own words. Children, she’d learned, were a big step. And her own child wasn’t even here yet!

“Don’t have too much fun, now!” The Zeltron clutched Matt’s arm, smiling up at him affectionately as he gently gripped her hand. She watched the pair drift off into the crowds, making sure to keep tabs on Kimiko and her escort. She had faith in the Hapan Kitsune’s ability to charm and ultimately poison their high profile target of the evening.

Alone again, Joza sent a hand through her hair, brushing it to one side before retrieving what she hoped was a glass of water from a nearby serving droid. After giving it a quick taste test to determine that it was not a clear alcohol of sorts, she took a long drink. These types of events were always ridiculously stuffy.

“So,” Turning towards Matt, she eyed him up and down perhaps a bit critically. Typical body check. “Have you been with the Academy for long?”

He stood behind her as she worked her skills expertly along with Kimiko both of them pulling off their skills that would have fooled even him if he wasn't let in on the big plan he stood with his hands behind his back as he watched the Commedant get taken away by Kimiko and the guards went to go grab drinks.

His attention was then drawn to the woman in front of him as she returned her attention towards him, giving her a small smile as she took a sip of her water to test it then downed the glass. He held back a laugh as he watched her as she grabbed his arm again and turned his eyes towards him as he looked down at her watching. "Have you been with the academy long?" As she said this he gave another smile and thought about what he said, before deciding on another plan.

"Uhm, if you wouldn't mind going outside? The moon looks beautiful tonight and I'd like to show you the gardens that they have here, I've never visited them so It'd be a nice time for the both of us. I mean, if you wouldn't mind coming with me at least?"

He looked at her as he said this his arm slightly tightening as he pulled her a little closer to him as he looked down at her preparing to go to the garden his smile locked on her and not noticing the other people of the ball move around them.

The young boys question called forth the faintest of smiles, something he rarely did anymore, but the child seems to boost his moral at least to the point where he wasn't brooding. "Well, we are both still breathing, right? So that is a marvelous thing."

Looking back over the banister, he felt as if his gave was being averted purposely to one single person, and once his eyes landed on that said person, everything else become irrelevant. For the most part. "Never mind, I can see them now, but if you ever need something kid, just ask." Flashing another rare smile, he began to make His way downstairs. "I don't bite all the time."

Now moving with a purpose, he weaved in and out of the crowd, his tall frame surely standing out. Not to mention the fact that he wasn't dressed

like most would expect. The navy blue jacket was in contrast with his flaming eyes, but it was all done for a reason. The last time he'd done something like this, he burnt through a brand new suit. Neva again. It was only then that he saw the man beside [member="Kimiko"]. Of course, the was a small prick of jealousy, as he would very much rather be the one walking beside her, but he had other worries, she'd understand...right?

Sighing, subtly upset, he caught a flash of pink skin, and he decided to pay another friend a visit. This one hopefully not to busy for a quick greeting. Unfortunately, his favorite Zeltron was also being accompanied by a more familiar man, but the duo also were strolling along, and he would let them continue undisturbed. Now mildly discouraged, he approached the bar, learning his back against it. The crowd parted occasionally, giving any who were looking a clean view of the man, burning eyes and all.

He began digging himself a hole in the middle of the line, his hands covered with a pair of gloves as he worked on getting his hole deeper and deeper throwing the dirt and watch it get picked up and fly away. Every once and a while he would clear his goggles of the sand that was building up and continue to work, his spade in hand getting deeper and deeper. Finally as he stood up and looked at the hole he decided it was big enough and jumped into the whole getting his blaster rifle into his hands as he peaked over the top facing the direction of the enemy. He sighed soft breathing into his scarf as he peaked around the line looking at the other people digging. He nodded as he saw Leo and Dax digging a hole together, glancing around more he continued to check over every marine and soldier on the line making sure everyone was there. After getting a personal check he gets his binoculars out and began scanning the horizon. This really sucks, but someone had to do it. He thought to himself as he scanned the storm in front of him, above him, and behind him. The sandstorm was completely around them now and the troops they where waiting for where bound to stumble upon them soon enough, but for now he wanted them all ready and settled in before the enemy arrived.
