Warlocks (30x)- Force wielding ground commanders loyal to The First Warlock (Sethrak)Currently at The Plains

The Tower, "The Killing Grounds", inside The Nether
Sethrak was zoning in and out of consciousness, barely staying awake as his two hearts struggled to keep his body working. As he sat there, Hrajlmak spoke, explaining that the battle was lost. Sethrak let out one breath, as close as he could get to a sigh of defeat. Meanwhile Hrajlmak, The True First Warlock, continued his monologue. The undead aerevalin claimed that he would give Sethrak what he seeked...vengence. Sethrak raised his head again, curious about the meaning of Hrajlmak's words.

It was clear that something in the realm changed, but The Warlock couldn't tell what it was. The change was noticeable only in The Force, sending small vibrations of movement through it. But visually Sethrak saw nothing. Perhaps it was his fading vision, or maybe there was no change after all. Sethrak determined the only way to figure out was to ask Hrajlmak.

He sucked in another raspy breath. His mouth was dry, yet he faintly tasted blood, and spittle slid down the side of his face when he spoke, "Hrajlmak....what...what did you do?" It was all he could ask. His strength was fading quickly. It felt unreal to him...but he knew what it was...he was dying. The foreign feeling was something he had always imagined, but now it was upon him. There was no glory. As Hrajlmak had said, there was nothing to show for all of The Warlock's efforts. Tathra, Hrajlmak, Galak, Primarch Drek'ma, possibly Osam, and soon Sethrak himself...all slain for what? They were nothing but gears of war and it had cost them everything.

But even if their wars were futile, Sethrak now had a reason to live. Vengeance was truly all he yearned for now. Vengence for his fallen brothers. Vengence for himself. But whatever Hrajlmak had done wasn't saving the young warlock, and his timer had stricken zero hours ago.

The desperate warlock forced himself to continue looking at Hrajlmak. If he were to die, he wanted to die with his chin raised, watching his leader...not with his head hung in shame and defeat.

Over the cacaphone of cannon fire from his arm, he could not hear what the alpha was saying. However, he did see one of them turned into a puddle of goop as he hoped. The sludge was still on the ground making the air noxious for those of weak lungs. Yet, the burning vapors in the nearby air did not disturb he who flung their source. His respirator was doing its job as his breaths hissed and howled with every inhale and exhale.

The leader closed in on him as he continued firing away/ Viermen had his shots trace his steps with a bit of lead in hopes a few would hit his opponent. He backed up a bit to maintain fire, however, he knew he would have to get closer when it came to finishing this beast off.

"Let your trial begin!", Viermen thought to himself as the other charged, "Let us see if you are worthy..."

A raspy chuckle came through his respirator as he the other charged and Viermen maintained fire. A sense of joy and malice twisted into one was resonating from the hulking machine-man.

As Xiphos watched the bombs drop on the surface, for a brief instant she was two different people.

She was both Darth Xiphos, Butcher of Rhand, as well as Laertia Io, the woman who had sacrificed a happy life and future in the Jedi to see the Bryn'adul ended as a Superpower, as a culture.

She could feel it...no matter what happened today, even if there were pockets of surviving Drael, they were done as anything but a nuisance. She would have to hunt down the survivors, but there would be no great fleet of Lobsters to descend Upon an unsuspecting world any longer. Their tech was to be seized. Studied. Categorized. Their every secret laid bare.

Only at this moment however, did both Xiphos AND Laertia question whether it had all been worth it...

Xiphos blinked, and all around them was a white void. Only the bridge viewport remained with crystal clarity in real time.

Xiphos, a being of black, jagged, faceted glass, turned her head with the sound of breaking glass as she did, the only thing still visibly Laertia-like was her face, and even that was a cracked, faceted version with glowing green eyes.

Laertia Io, the real Laertia Io stood across from her, spiked biker leathers visibly frosted over like her unscarred, porcelain face and raven hair. She turned to spare Xiphos a glance.

"They're finished." Xiphos said.

"There are stragglers. There are always stragglers. But their days as a superpower are through." Laertia agreed

They stared at the quantum bomb bombardment (Try saying that ten times fast for 1000 XP!) Feeling all the death they enabled. All they had lost. What they loved a lie not once but twice.

All they had left was their family. And ambition. And revenge on the Jedi Order.

They both wanted revenge.

Even so...to help annihilate an entire culture...

...it was not a thing to be done...

...casually...

"The afterlife is gonna make us pay for this one..." Xiphos admitted.

"It was gonna make us pay after Rhand..." Laertia said. "And for how we...actually felt about...her..."

Even now, they were too ashamed to admit to each other what The Amalgam had meant to them.

"Would you rather burn or freeze in hell?" Xiphos asked.

"I'm always cold now. I'd be used to freezing, if nothing else." Laertia replied, shivering.

"Do you still love Syd?" Laertia asked.

"She murdered our parents and infected our Mentor with a copy of her mind. Even if I did feel something, killing the schutta and her son Starlin Rand Starlin Rand is a matter of honor at this point." Xiphos replied angrily. "You do not agree?"

"She dismembered our parents and ate our biological mother's soul..." Laertia said firmly, shivering from her eternally cold spirit. "She dies."

"What about Starlin?"

"We'll flip for it when the time arrives." Laertia answered.

"Why should her handiwork be allowed to survive?"

"He's just a boy. Celsius can no longer help him." Laertia argued

"We lost our parents and our master to her, she loses her son to us." Xiphos argued back.

"Do we really want that? Don't we have enough blood of the young on our hands?" Laertia asked.

"It's not about what we want, IT'S ABOUT WHAT'S FAIR!" (The same chance she had: Fifty XP (x2) ) Xiphos roared. "All of her must die, including Starlin!"

Xiphos turned her eyes back to the bombardment.

"He turned her against us." she said in a very quiet voice.

"We did that ourselves..." Laertia replied in just as quiet a voice.

Xiphos looked at the bombardment again.

"Was it worth it?" Laertia asked.

"I don't know..." Xiphos admitted. "I only know I had to see them burn...see their empire die for all the pain they caused...but I don't know if the price we paid was worth it..."

Laertia looked at the bombardment.

"I think it was worth it. The Jedi Order lacked the will to commit to total victory for anything but their precious Sith...and they can't even clinch the deal on that..." Laertia admitted. "I hope they suffer at Coruscant."

Xiphos opened her eyes. Danuta was still being bombarded. The Bryn'adul were still dying...and Xiphos was surrounded by her family. The entire bridge crew, including The Battalion and The Amalgam, were silent as they watched.

The battle wasn't over. There were still the matter of the remaining Bryn vessels. The main fleet where Ingrid L'lerim Ingrid L'lerim had battled Osam was done for. The attention must turn to their quickly disintegrating back up fleet.

Xiphos gave the order for all her Star Destroyers to fire at once on the reserve fleet, every energy Torpedo and electric Turbolaser they had concentrated in their general direction, with a special focus on the largest remaining Bryn Warships.

Both ionic and seismic charge mimicking energy Torpedoes lanced out in the direction of the fleet. Whatever survived was to be seized and studied...

The turbulent wastes of the standing cataclysm that was Draemidus Prime saw the birth of a horror. A once in a millennia force that in the span of mere decades, had made the galaxy itself shudder. The ripples of annihilation and genocide would be felt, in some form or another, for time immemorial. This horror tore across the stars, sweeping system after system under its black wing, scattering worlds to the wind, and would leave the millions it terraformed uninhabitable.

It was born from desolation, and would die on barren wastes.

Danuta would forever be heralded as the final resting place of perhaps the greatest internal military threat to grace its spiral arms. Only being rivaled by a force born of alien stars from without. Great flying, biological terrors that were once the harbingers of doom for trillions who beheld the skies they drifted through, now crumbled. Falling gracelessly from the air, soon to be smothered and buried by the march of time. Towering warriors in nigh-impenetrable armour, the bane of every infantryman and once considered unbeatable in any ground battle, now had their bodies torn limb from limb at the mercy of the shifting tides of war. This barren wasteland of farmers would become the cradle of the Bryn'adul's annihilation.

Hrajlmak's body blinked in and out of existence. He strained against the will of the Netherrealm, fulfilling a duty that transcended the boundaries of life itself. Hrajlmak acted not out of any sense of victory. He only knew the Chieftain's will. To fight, to subdue, and ultimately, to transcend with glory. The dead crossed the boundary into the living in droves. They roared and screamed, fell to weapons they'd never seen, and destroyed whatever didn't smell of home. They would make less than a thousand feel like an army. They would take as many of their mortal foes with them, back into their dread world. They died for their god-king, and they would die again in his name.

Hrajlmak's gutteral voice shook the walls and for a moment, he was no more. Fading into the darkness that shrouded him as he had appeared. Silence took the room, only the drip of Sethrak's bleeding frame piercing the void.

"I knew the moment I beheld craftsmanship far greater than my own that our battle was to be lost". His voice was solemn, brooding. He appeared again, sat upright on his knees in front of Sethrak. "Your Warlocks, they fight beside their dead brethren. Every second, a new voice I've never heard pierces my mind. Another warrior exiled to this realm of eternal suffering. Soon... ohh... soon I will be familiar with all of them. No newcomers". Hrajlmak's eyes were black as night. He rested his taloned paw on Sethrak's hunched shoulder. "I did what I was designed to do. You have come here, like a weapon with no other function. We all did what we were grown, harvested and told to do". His midnight eyes dug deep into Sethrak's.

"Sit."

"Die with me".

Kru'kk:

The Zealot Major charged at his laughing enemy. It was an insult, he knew, intended to occupy his mind. Normally, of course, such a tactic would never work. But, as Kru'kk ran past the pooling acid- past the still burning corpse of what had once been Ort'nem. The enemy commander would have Kru'kk's full attention whether or not it had realised it had just made its final mistake.

As he charged, Krukk tanked the incessant shots, his special operation Armour had been designed specifically to endure significant damage. Besides which, if he slowed his advance by even the slightest degree, it would be considered nothing less than dishonourable. An action unthinkable under any situation.

Before too long, the two commanders clashed. It came to Kru'kk as a sudden realisation that the enemy had been expecting a slightly slower advance as he was still in the process of unsheathing some as of yet unconfirmed melee weapon when Kru'kk made his first strike.

Kru'kk fully intended to fully utilise that particular advantage.

He arced his glaive towards the machine man's face only for it to be swatted away by a metallic gauntlet. The delfection's Impact prompting Kru'kk to stagger backwards temporarily again through the acid. He knew all to well his armoured feet would not last under much more exposure. So, with another cry of rage, he launched again- preparing to help the invader meet its ultimate end.

Xanlatt:

'Bombs, how could we not of thought of bombs?'

Xanlatt chided himself as he neared his landing port. He'd recently completed another run through of the information he had gained from probing the small Marines' mind and, although he couldn't aquire the full details, he'd managed to grasp 'planet-ending' which normally would have came as good news.

Except for the fact he was still here.

Xanlatt found himself wishing he had one of their speeder bikes handy but knew there was a far higher chance of meeting more soldiers than he would like to face alone that way. Better to avoid it altogether.

Ahead of him, his Bryn'adûl shuttle- or rather, the one his strike team had been granted- crested into view.

It would take a few minutes, he knew, to prepare the shuttle and swing by the chasms for possible extraction. However, It was impossible to wager how long any of them had on the surface. It could have been some minutes or even primed for a few hours from now but Xanlatt resolved silently that, time depending, he'd evacuate his team from here...

Or die trying.

The alpha came faster with his blade. He was angry, and that was good. It was time for Viermen to see if it can harness its anger or if it will be consumed by its anger. The blade was slashed at his face, where his weaponized arm replacement blocked it. The scratch of the metal envigorated Viermen. A proper battle indeed. The next slash was at his legs. He quickly lurched to the side where another scratch was gouged into the plating.

It was then that he tried to pin and disarm his foe. He launched his hulking frame forward at the beast leader. One of his legs was set to land directly on its feet while his giant left arm quickly reached out for the grapple when he got clower in. His cannon of a right arm was aimed at its head just in case his left arm failed to grapple. He would at least be able to shoot at point blank if need be.

His eyes showed murdurous intent as well, yet with a hint of joy. His breaths were audible as the air circulated in his respirator. He could see the confidence in the eyes of his opponent. Viermen then thought to himself, "It is confident of victory it seems. Its arrogance will be its destruction! I will break this one.."

Objective: Escape Danuta
Timeline: Approximately 6 minutes before detonation.

Viermen
UC-4158 was pacing back and forth inside the evacuation ship, waiting rather impatiently for his squad. He had been waiting for around 2 minutes, but there was no sign of them. Then he remembered the rather obvious fact that he had a commlink to call his squad. After briefly complaining about his own failure to remember it, he picked up his commlink and dialed it to Baron Viermen’s frequency. If he responded, UC-4158 would wait for the squad and tell them to evacuate. If nobody picked up, he would just have to keep waiting until he couldn’t. And if an enemy soldier picked up, he would leave of course. He said into the mouth piece (hopefully) to his commanding officer: “Sir, this is UC-4158. We need to start evacuation as soon as possible. I am inside the evacuation ship, waiting for you and the rest of the squad, sir.

The Tower, "The Killing Grounds", inside The Nether
These words were another strike to the final nail in Sethrak's coffin. His will was now all but shattered. Hrajlmak, The First Warlock of The Bryn'adul, Sethrak's superior and the one Bryn he had looked up to more than the others, was now telling him that the crusade was over. Hrajlmak told Sethrak to die with him. The tired Warlock remained silent, his breathing slowed, and he closed his eyes. But he didn't want to die, The Bryn could still fight, Draemidus Prime had not fallen...more Bryn could be cloned, cloned differently, made to be stronger....all they needed was a leader. They needed him. But Hrajlmak was right. They were nothing but tools of war. Tools of war in the arsenal of a fallen Titan. They had no place in The galaxy...all they knew was war, war in this galaxy, and then war in the next. It was impossible to win; they would lose eventually.

But this wasn't that time. It couldn't be. Sethrak had come far, and so had The Bryn'adul. They had allies, The Ungulloi, Ahkenaton, and Vaydralen. When Sethrak was "born" The Bryn'adul were so different, one couldn't make a connection between the new and old. The only thing left to change was their purpose. It could be done, they could function within the galaxy, they just had to fight for their existence, not their dominance.

So Sethrak held on. The Force would sustain him, it would keep him alive. It was stronger than ever within The Nether...it was as close as one could get to becoming one with The Force. Thus The Warlock kept his eyes closed and his head hanging low, and he called out to The Force..."Sustain me." With those words The Warlock let out one final breath. He will remain dormant, breathless, seemingly lifeless, until someone finds him...and then his fate will be decided permanently.

OOC Note: This is my final post in this invasion. It has been a blast, and a special thanks to Hrajlmak'Natok Hrajlmak'Natok for his guest appearance. It really was a treat and I'm honored. As for Sethrak? He's still around, I'm not sure what the full plan is apart from keeping him alive, but stay tuned and keep in touch.

Kru'kk

The mechanical invader thought well. Were he not practically blinded in his vengance, Kru'kk would admit the exchange was almost a worthy effort. As it was, However, the Zealot Major met his opponent blow after blow with careful evasion and deflections. It wouldn't be enough he knew. He'd have to end this fight quickly as the enemy began to angle its frame in closer.

It'd be a shame of course, to not be able to torture his enemy. But it would still serve as a victory nonetheless.

Suddenly, there was a horrific impact not dissimilar to that of the signature rip and tear of a predator as it disemboweled its prey. It had taken Kru'kk a few seconds to realise what had just happened.

He'd focused too much on the Upper frame.

Despite his best efforts, Krukk bellowed in a searing bark of pain as the mechanical man had brought down a metal leg chunk on Kru'kk's leg. The scraping had been the explosion of his special Operations Armour foot piece and the usually succulent wet slap was that of his own bone tissue flattening under the weight.

He was pinned- but he was not beaten.

As Kru'kk once more returned his gaze to the face of the enemy commander- Glaive in hand- he had just enough time to attempt a final piercing strike towards its chest as his opponent leveled its hulking cannon on his face.

Xanlatt:

It had not been easy to prepare the shuttle for flight. Typically, the role of pilot would fall to Kru'kk or Var'Schmark yet Xanlatt found he could still work around the basics- even if that meant he wouldn't be able to activate its thrusters. That didn't matter for now however, all that mattered was evacuation.

Though he did not recall how to access the shuttle's advanced scanners, he'd long since decided he'd perform a run by of the chasms and allow his eyes to scan what was left for him.

If there was anything left to be found, that was.

All the while, the force had seemed to take on a uneasy presence, screaming danger from all directions.

Xanlatt found himself hoping he'd find out just exactly what was going on before too long.

Before everything was gone.

The scream of this one was music to Viermen's ears. He did not have much time to bask in the agony though when the alpha's glave came thrusting towards his chest. The blade came closer and closer until Viermen's arm gripped the hand holding the blade and twisted with all his flesh's might.

The blade came clanging to the ground leaving the alpha disarmed. A look of glee was in Viermen's grey eyes once more. He knew what he was to do with this one. He quickly released the other's arm, and grabbed his legs in a fluent sweep as his joints clanked to keep up with the swift motion.

He then pulled up with his left arm of flesh and blood, and swung his opponent over his head to be smashed on the ground. He repeated that movment about six more times before tossing the beasts corpse down the gorge. It was then he began to tear down the ridge to the lower levels to enter the fray with the soldiers still remaining. He fired at all enemies present below. He knew what was coming now, and it was time to begin leaving for the Empress' grand plan to work.

He had his own reservations about such a plan to retreat and kill most of the remnants with bombs without seeing their faces, but he knew that was the only way to bring widespread choas to this world in full from this battle. To destroy everyting that these beasts built in one sudden blast of anarchy. A transmission from one of the soldiers came through to his attention while the comms operator lay dead on the ground of the chasm. How they should start evacuating, and how they are already at the shuttle.

That one was lucky that evacuation was beginning. As he was firing upon the opponents before him, he shouted, "You survivors! It is time to leave this place for the last burst of chaos to take place! It is time to go to the shuttle waiting for us back where we came from in this gorge. Our hunt is over! Kill any that get in your way without mercy and with brutality! Those who survive this battle will be strong. However, battles to come will make all stronger!"

He then began scuttling towards the entrance of the gorge. The survivors began to follow suit while firing at any who tried to engage them on the way out. The shuttle was there waiting and secured. Today was a glorious day of chaos, destruction, and death. The strong were shown, and the Bryn'adul were tested. These remants failed as far as Viermen could see. Maybe some would survive the bombs, and be strong, but that would only be a matter of time to see that result much later.
