If Kalianah had known what he was doing and how he was bending light to predict the direction she would dash, she might have called him a cheater, made it harder to follow. But she was caught up in the moment, the sensations, the thrill of the cat and mouse games, to notice what he was doing. Her steps were sure and steady as they descended the stairs deeper into the maze, the clang of her high heels loud as she ducked around another corner, toward the predators enclosure. Laughter erupted from her when he seized her wrist, skin immediately aflame from his touch, and allowed their natural momentum and the recoil to bring her to his chest one more, where she painted herself against him, fitting into the shelter of his body as though she hadn't wanted to leave.
"You only have me because I let you." She retorted with a huff, lips brushing playfully against his chin as though the notion of a reward was not out of the question. She had every confidence that she could have outrun him
if she wanted to. Kalianah was not a damsel, not someone so easily captured, but she had
wanted him to win, had
allowed him to so that she might return to the sanctuary of his arms, to be close once more, to feel the heat rising from his chest, and the desire scorching in her veins. Her lips nudged against his lips next and lingered there, parting as though temptation had won, as though she would kiss him, reward him.
"Not yet, not here." She said quietly, a soft smile coming to her mouth as she withdrew, though not from the security of his arms, but so that she could look into his eyes, admire the every changing colour of them, and how each time she looked they had been different.
Felix would be rewarded, that was a guarantee but she wasn't ready to give it to him here. She demanded that the moment be right, that he show he a good time,
earth-shattering bliss, before the world claimed them. Fingers stroked the collar of his coat, pulling him closer as though she were going to give into temptation then and there, and oh how she wanted to, but steps were taken backwards, and she pulled on his coat to entice him to follow. Kalianah wanted to see the sea-creatures drifting through crystalline water as they kissed for the first time, the kaleidoscopic-shadows a beautiful backdrop as she tasted his lips, letting happiness settle around them.
She took his hand, having already chosen the destination. At the lowest level of the aquarium there was a sprawling cafeteria with glass ceilings, so that the sea-life could be seen and admired while enjoying a quick bite to eat. It might not have been romantic but it was perfect. Booths lined the walls, and tables and chairs were placed around the room; on the far side there was a counter, part of the kitchen visible behind it. If she were paying attention to anything other than Felix she might had noticed the room had been ransacked, tables knocked over, chairs broken, rubbish strewn around the room. But she had not.
Her focus was entirely upon him as she pulled him into the centre of the room, noting caring if it wasn't where he wanted to be, only caring that it was where she wanted him in that moment. She moved slowly, as though giving him time to change his mind. Though she doubted he would. Her hands brushed up his chest, one curling around the back of his neck to pull him down to her so she could kiss him, softly, slowly, a pleased hum heard as she parted her lips to chase the taste of him,
wanting more. It was a rush of emotion through her being, desire snaking through her veins. Except there was a noise from somewhere in the room, stealing her attention from Felix, lips begrudgingly leaving his, her head turning to look at the source of the distraction.
Kalianah's eyes narrowed as a group of seven emerged from behind the counter, likely from the kitchen. They were not familiar to her but she was familiar enough with the criminal underbelly to recognise the arrogant, conceited walk of a thug.
"Beautiful night for it.” One of the men said, his tone making her skin crawl with disgust as his eyes roved her body.
"So why don' ya finish with him, so you can take care of me." It was clear that this was a demand, and not a request.
“That’s not going to happen.” She spat back, a bite in her voice. Kalianah could have killed them, bought each of them to their knees despite her fragile appearance. She could have. But she didn't. Instead her body pressed harder against Felix, into the shelter of his body, the protection of his arms. Her fingers tightened around his shoulders, her eyes finding his once more, lips pouting, and brows drawn together with uncertainty and fear, though she had felt neither emotion.
"Let's go... please."
