Public The Last Call

"Fair enough, perhaps we could duel later once we are not surrounded by people? As for my name, its Koran Bardok, I'm a Grey Jedi and a self-proclaimed scientist focused on the force. When it comes to your compensation, don't worry about it, I have quite a fortune I saved up over the years, it will be no issue."

AS they made their way through the city as the streets held their breath for what was to come, the couple as they hurried would feel the beginnings of the turbulent storm that was about to hit, however, the closeness... The way that the woman let out a dangerous inviting smile which lingered on her lips, clutched his hand that little bit tighter. Affirmation, wordless permission; get me outta here. As her body would move closer, seeking cover before him he would slow just that little bit, playfully enjoying her presence pulling her just that little bit against him with a tug of that hand he held so that she got just a taste of that same affirmation.

"The guy who ran this place is a collector, there's all kinds of things down here, some pretty dangerous. It's twelve stories down, tunnels caverns pools walkways and enclosures all filled with some pretty magnificent creatures. Aaand it's all about to go to hell in a few hours. "

He would speak as he would walk just that little bit slower down the stairs, as a man who worked with light on a daily basis he was naturally attuned to reflections. Catching her staring at him in the glass as Felix would focus just that little bit to make the image in the reflection a little clearer for her, as she would notice that in the dark his eyes were almost radiant, catching the light and pulsing slightly as if they had their own minor light source. Not enough to glow, but enough that their colour could always be seen. That Rose pink colour in his eyes not wavering for a moment. As he'd be taking all of her in. But just as she focused, pressing up against the glass a Firaxian Shark would slam against the glass with a resounding boom, teeth wide as an attempt to devour Kalianah. From the murky waters it would appear almost out of nowhere, swimming at full speed in an attempt to attack the food-like creature that graced the edge of its containment.

Depending on her reaction Felix would chuckle, catching up with her and offering an arm or a hand for her as he would move to make his way deeper into the aquarium. Moving towards the entrance he would turn to a lock box on the wall, drawing his saber he would first check for the position of Kalianah to ensure he wouldn't accidentally strike her, turning the emerald orange blade on with a snap hiss, he would glance its eerily narrow edge across the padlock on the side, open the box and flick the power-switches for the place on one at a time as lights and colours would irradiate the entire complex. Bathing it and themselves in the ephemeral light as his saber would eject, playing it back on his belt for the mean time.

"Open for business, now what exhibit would you like to see first? Predators? Mammals? Amphibians? That is if you can manage to keep your eyes off me." He'd speak in a tease, tugging her just that little bit closer again if she seemed receptive.

Natsu smiled, replying "Later, perhaps I'll indulge you. And as for your missing work, as long as the money flows, I'll help you. But first, we have more pressing matters at hand. Let us continue to the old man's tale. After all, we have to actually get to where the monsters are and slay them before we can even think of retrieving your work."

His words were heard, voice enough to entice shivers down her spine as she watched his reflection, his eyes and how even in the dark they were radiant, and listened to him explain what lurked below their feet; all manner of beasties taken from their home and put on display as a collection. Transfixed in that moment she hadn't seen the sudden movement in the water until the glass rattled against her palms, as though it might shatter, the resounding boom almost drowning out the startled shriek that slipped past her lips. And then she was laughing at her own reaction, how for a moment she had been frightened, how he had been there when she retreated from the glass, ready to take her hand again, like some valiant hero watching over the damsel-in-distress. And while Kalianah wasn't a damsel in any sense of the word, she was willing to play the part in the moment.

She was still smiling when the glow of his lightsaber washed over the room, and when he had switched the lights on to bring live to the aquarium, illuminating the world that had become a backdrop to him, the posters and wallpaper and informational boards becoming a blur until there was only him. Kalianah wasn't ashamed of giving him her full attention, even if that meant she was staring like some love-struck teenager. Besides, he seemed to be enjoying it. She gave an amused hum when he poised a question, predators, mammals, amphibians, surely he knew the answer already. Maybe he was trying to be nice and let her pick, maybe he was indecisive and not as confident as she first assumed.

Either way Kalianah hadn't minded that he asked, it gave her time to tease him back. Her fingers tightened around his as she allowed him to tug her closer, following the momentum until not even a breath could pass between them. Felix had certainly captivated her, and Kalianah was certain she had done the same to him, so certain that she had no doubts he would appreciate the sudden closeness. Her lips brushed his, not firmly enough to be considered a kiss but enough that the taste of them would linger on his, so that the shimmer of her lipstick would smudge his. It was a delicious tit-for-tat, raising the stakes, adding the the challenge.

“Predators...” her voice was barely a whisper, eyes dropping to look at his mouth, daring him to give in to temptation. She lingered on the tiptoes, her body painted against him, fingers having abandoned his so that she could touch him, palms brushing up his chest. And then she had withdrawn just as quickly as she had come close, laughing, skittering away like he couldn’t catch her if he tried, until she disappeared through an adjoining hallway, deeper into the maze of the aquarium, still laughing.

She shrieked, and Felix had to hide his face for fear of her seeing him laugh at her fright, though his eyes couldn't lie, dazzling an almost neon gleam which lingered little more than a rose hazed shadow until the museum lights were lit around them. The girl would retort by pulling close, pressing her not quite a kiss at the cheek of Felix with little more than a pursed caress before whispering her answer into his ear. She was so close, he couldn't help but inhale to take her in through all of his senses, the look of her skin, the touch of her hand, the warmth of her lips and what's more her presence as they grazed him. The smell of whatever it was she lathered through her hair... a scent he could almost taste as it was so close with synesthetic delight. The neon pink eyes would become abuzz, streaks of white among them like ethereal lightning and dancing lights. But within a fleeting moment she would retreat, pulling back into the bounds of the labyrinth in a game of catch that Felix couldn't help but give her a head-start for.

In his head he would count to five before beginning to jog after her, nipping at her heels as he would bend light at the corners of hallways around him to become like angular mirrors, his perspective warping so that he might see which way she was running, joy flooding his system as he would toy with her, moving down stairs until they would near the lowest levels of the compound. Passing signs to all manners of life, the museum like exhibit of the dead creatures there being passed on the way as the first shuddering quake would shock the aquarium to its core, signalling that the storm was well and truly overhead now. There was no leaving here until it was over.

It wouldn't be long before they would chase to the entrance of the predator's exhibit, Felix dead on her heels reaching out with just a little bit of force speed to ensure her safe capture. Wrapping a hand around her wrist, slinging his weight onto his back foot so they would splay apart with the natural resistance of their bodies like an elastic band, knowing full well that that force had to rebound, allowing her to recoil into Felix's chest as he would wrap his arms around her shoulders, heart not quite racing, but its pace accelerated somewhat, mostly from the stairs he'd had to bound down.

"I've finally got you~" He would speak with a pant in his breath, sighing happily as his breathing would return to normal shortly after. "You're definitely a slippery one, I'm not going to deny you that. So, now that I got you, do i get a reward?" He'd speak with sly lips, making direct eye contact as the almost malevolent and snide green slivers would begin to make their way into those eyes of him, the colour of trickery and entente.

All the while the baying of the halls would begin to get louder, there was something happening here, the occasional sound could be heard echoing throughout the aquarium, sounds of items falling off shelves, or looters knocking them off, who could tell? But within the predator exhibits there were two notable levels, the first was a maze-like labyrinth of tanks and features, many which would have multiple creatures often fed well, many such beasts from the seas and rivers of Naboo, Kamino, Mon Cala and other waterworlds from across the galaxy. But underneath them were two other levels, a massive open topped wild exhibit with a single tank that had a walk-way surrounding it, and the bottom most level was a series of stores and lounging areas which allowed people to stare up from under the main tank, gazing up at whales as they swam, sharks, manta-like creatures and plethora of other sea life.

If Kalianah had known what he was doing and how he was bending light to predict the direction she would dash, she might have called him a cheater, made it harder to follow. But she was caught up in the moment, the sensations, the thrill of the cat and mouse games, to notice what he was doing. Her steps were sure and steady as they descended the stairs deeper into the maze, the clang of her high heels loud as she ducked around another corner, toward the predators enclosure. Laughter erupted from her when he seized her wrist, skin immediately aflame from his touch, and allowed their natural momentum and the recoil to bring her to his chest one more, where she painted herself against him, fitting into the shelter of his body as though she hadn't wanted to leave.

"You only have me because I let you." She retorted with a huff, lips brushing playfully against his chin as though the notion of a reward was not out of the question. She had every confidence that she could have outrun him if she wanted to. Kalianah was not a damsel, not someone so easily captured, but she had wanted him to win, had allowed him to so that she might return to the sanctuary of his arms, to be close once more, to feel the heat rising from his chest, and the desire scorching in her veins. Her lips nudged against his lips next and lingered there, parting as though temptation had won, as though she would kiss him, reward him. "Not yet, not here." She said quietly, a soft smile coming to her mouth as she withdrew, though not from the security of his arms, but so that she could look into his eyes, admire the every changing colour of them, and how each time she looked they had been different.

Felix would be rewarded, that was a guarantee but she wasn't ready to give it to him here. She demanded that the moment be right, that he show he a good time, earth-shattering bliss, before the world claimed them. Fingers stroked the collar of his coat, pulling him closer as though she were going to give into temptation then and there, and oh how she wanted to, but steps were taken backwards, and she pulled on his coat to entice him to follow. Kalianah wanted to see the sea-creatures drifting through crystalline water as they kissed for the first time, the kaleidoscopic-shadows a beautiful backdrop as she tasted his lips, letting happiness settle around them.

She took his hand, having already chosen the destination. At the lowest level of the aquarium there was a sprawling cafeteria with glass ceilings, so that the sea-life could be seen and admired while enjoying a quick bite to eat. It might not have been romantic but it was perfect. Booths lined the walls, and tables and chairs were placed around the room; on the far side there was a counter, part of the kitchen visible behind it. If she were paying attention to anything other than Felix she might had noticed the room had been ransacked, tables knocked over, chairs broken, rubbish strewn around the room. But she had not.

Her focus was entirely upon him as she pulled him into the centre of the room, noting caring if it wasn't where he wanted to be, only caring that it was where she wanted him in that moment. She moved slowly, as though giving him time to change his mind. Though she doubted he would. Her hands brushed up his chest, one curling around the back of his neck to pull him down to her so she could kiss him, softly, slowly, a pleased hum heard as she parted her lips to chase the taste of him, wanting more. It was a rush of emotion through her being, desire snaking through her veins. Except there was a noise from somewhere in the room, stealing her attention from Felix, lips begrudgingly leaving his, her head turning to look at the source of the distraction.

Kalianah's eyes narrowed as a group of seven emerged from behind the counter, likely from the kitchen. They were not familiar to her but she was familiar enough with the criminal underbelly to recognise the arrogant, conceited walk of a thug. "Beautiful night for it.” One of the men said, his tone making her skin crawl with disgust as his eyes roved her body. "So why don' ya finish with him, so you can take care of me." It was clear that this was a demand, and not a request.

“That’s not going to happen.” She spat back, a bite in her voice. Kalianah could have killed them, bought each of them to their knees despite her fragile appearance. She could have. But she didn't. Instead her body pressed harder against Felix, into the shelter of his body, the protection of his arms. Her fingers tightened around his shoulders, her eyes finding his once more, lips pouting, and brows drawn together with uncertainty and fear, though she had felt neither emotion. "Let's go... please."

The two of them danced to invisible strings, ephemeral choruses lauded the halls of the pristine aquarium while the couple ebbed and flowed as fluttering waves through the ever winding complex of mazelike hallways. Each of the two passing statues, marine life frenzied as they flurried in white water due to the rapidly altering pressure of the world around them. Coiling warm fingers around her delicate hand, the boy would draw his prize close, feeling her pressed up against him as his eyes would begin to warm, their neon pink glowing with passionate reds that stained his eyes the color of her lips as he would smile, her objection lingering on her lips as a tease while the two of them were spirited away at her command into the depths of the chasm-like facility.

The twitterpated pair would gallivant into the deep recesses of the water clad cafeteria, the ceiling little more than a glass frame which gave way to titanic behemoths which swam in the waters above. No sooner than the woman turned around to face him, Felix would step into her space sliding one hand across the woman's cheek with the other around her hip, pulling her in close for a kiss. The taste of her lips lighting up his world as his senses would close to the world around him for once, all of his attention moved to her... until they were interrupted.

The eyes of Felix would snap open bearing a chillingly flame filled red, red as blood bathed embers as they would glisten as little more than simmering coals within dead sockets. No warmth, love, or kindness in them at all as they would smoulder while the gang-bangers would approach the couple of them. Instinctively Felix would find himself interposing, sliding and interjecting between his new friend, breaking their line of sight between them and her... though they were able to rotate and spread out. He would splay his hand to his side as she would motion that the group of them should leave. The group would no doubt chatter, a cacophony of whispers erupting with equally colourful language as their disgusting tongues offended the air they breathed.

"I believe the group of you are trespassing..." Felix would state matter of factly, jeers would erupt as he would move a hand to his hip. In a heartbeat there were four blaster pistols trained on the two of them, which pushed Felix to force Kalianah behind him for cover. Whispering for her to stay behind him. "Do you have any idea who you're threatening? Look, money, safety... let me know And I'll make sure you all get it." Felix spoke through gnashed teeth, some of them behind the ringleader commenting on his eyes and that he seemed to be angry, laughter and snickering permeating the air while their leader pouted.

"Dunno if you 'erd mate, worlds endin' up there... We dont need your money... But we'll be takin' err." He'd indicate with a finger towards Kali as he finished his piece, blasters cocking. "There's eighty million liters of water and carnage directly above you... do you really think that firing a blaster down here is a good idea?" Felix would do all he could to keep himself from cursing these cretins, hand still slowly moving for the saber at his side, knowing that he would need to draw it fast enough to deflect more than one bolt... he only hoped that his aim was on point today, he, and the incredibly fine saber blade had difficulty when it came to blaster fire. But when they continued their aim, Felix would pull on his power in the force to square, cube, quart and quint the initial flash of their weapons as his hand would call his weapon to it with a flash.

The snap-hiss familiar rang in the non-jedi's eyes, his arm willed his weapon to flourish as a duelist, but for once he resisted, these creatures didn't deserve the honour. They would open fire, but as the first blast left the barrel of the most aggressive the light would be magnified, parting for Felix's eyes making him immune to the waves while the others would be flash blinded by the blast. Felix's blade was thin, far thinner than the standard lightsaber blade by magnitude of half with a tip that looked almost sharp to the point. Many of the blaster bolts following the first went awry due to their pain, while the one which sailed true, Felix would deflect, slamming it into the ground at his feet... although he had intended to bat it back at their leader.... he'd never been good at that.

But Felix didn't notice the cracks on the ceiling above as they would begin to spread... one of the shots had hit the glass causing a leak... a cascaing structural weakness as it was now only a matter of time before the sea world from above became part of their life here below... It was their move now, Felix had proven that their guns meant little for now, standing before their prize with his weapon aglow in splendorous gold.

Her fingers coiled firmly around the coat adorning his body when he moved to block their line of sight, though he had not been able to do so for long when they began to circle like sharks in the water. Kalianah held him both out of a desire to be close, and with the need to protect that which had been perceived as hers. And while she was all-to-willing to play pretend and let Felix be the hero, she was not about to let the gang-bangers ruin what had been, until this very moment, a good night by hurting him. Yet even with the deep-seeded need to kill these thugs, she remained silent while listening to the exchange of words, her expression softening into a pout when Felix pushed her behind him, instructing her to stay there.

Had it been any other time of day, had there not been fools circling, she might had purposely disobeyed just because she could, just because she thought it would be fun. Blue eyes would have peaked around him had it not been for the first blaster shot; the sound of ripping through the air, the flash of it blinding. Her reaction to it was involuntary. Kalianah jumped, and her skin crawled. It wasn't that she was afraid. It wasn't that the thugs and their weapons frightened her. But her first, and most prominent memory of blaster weapons was not a pleasant one, and she was reminded of it every time one was fired.

She was five, maybe six, when her father shot a man dead in front of her. He had done it to protect his reputation more than protect his family. She had simply been in the wrong place at the wrong time. The memory replayed; the ringing of the blot being fired, the smell of seared flesh smelt in the air. Kali remembered the look in the dead man's eyes, how his expression had morphed from shocked to empty as the life left him. That moment had left scars on the child that remained even today. Kalianah would have pressed herself against the young man, buried her face against his back to hide the twisted expression she wore from his piercing gaze, so that he would not think of her as childish or weak had he not been busy deflecting bolt that sailed true.

"Come on, let's just go. please." Kali said softly, letting a tremor be heard in her voice, purposely adding fuel to the fire. The cracking glass caught her attention, the sound of it making her anxious and uncomfortable. Blue eyes zeroed in on the cracks spreading through the ceiling above them, water already dripping down in ominous warning, the mammoth beasts flocking wildly because of the torrential storm. Kalianah dragged hard on his coat, trying to force him to pay attention, to pull him toward the exit. "Hey... the glass-" She didn't get another word in before it broke. The pressure from the storm shattering one the panels, and with a cascade of water some of the smaller creatures had flooded into the room with them.

It happened quickly. One of the gang-bangers panicked, squeezing the trigger of his blaster as he was knocked from his feet, one of the beasts biting into his body, gnashing teeth and crushing jaws, so that an bloody scream was torn from him. Another bolt sailed wildly through the air, slamming into the ceiling, making the cracks spider-web in all directions, letting more water gush into the flooding cafeteria. The force of the water against her shins would would have been enough to knock her off her feet had she not been close enough the grab at Felix, nails dragging against his coat as she struggled to remain footed when another animal fell into the room close by. "We need to go, now!" This time there had been real panic in her voice.

Felix could feel her presence behind him, fingers tangling into his coat while the carrion creeps curled around the two of them, confident and unruly, it would be moments until the entire world came crashing down on them. The first shot fired and a wide flurry of shots went awry as they blinded thugs tore at their eyes in pain. Felix was moments away from lunging the group with his saber before another tug on his coat called his attention to the spiderwebbing cracks creeping across the rooftop that hung above them... His eyes would widen, all the colour in them draining immediately as he would, for a moment freeze.

~He saw an image of himself, bracing his ground as a wave came crashing into him, grabbing onto the arm of the girl and activating his shield...~

Ok, every fiber of his body told him right now that running would be the best idea, however, the intense fear and the drive to survive had activated something he'd come to rely on in situations like this. He would spread his stance for a forward impact as one of the thugs would charge him with one of the melee weapons they had improvised. The blow would careen down for Felix's head and he would raise the arm with his saber in it, a melange shield tearing to life around his arm like a buckler as the weapon would collide with it. There would be a burst as something broke, a pulse, a wave of energy exploding from the shield as the cur made impact with the energy field knocking his arm back and away violently.

Without needing to step in, Felix would flick his foil's blade across the neck of the subhuman craven with little more than a practiced wrist motion. His life was over, but it would not be over soon as they recoiled reaching for their neck choking and huffing at the cauterized wound while the torrent of water finally broke free. The tidal-wave of force slammed down directly on top of one of the vagabonds. A plume of red intermingled with the white water as the glass shredded everything it touched... And now felix understood. Speaking to the person behind him as he gripped her wrist tightly, not allowing her to flee. "Trust me!"

He made the demand, if either of them had run that wall of glass would have slammed into their backs, torn out tendons, flesh, muscle and swept them into the deeper recesses of the complex to drown. So Felix stood his ground, lowering his shield against the wave, which as it made contact with all of its force would detonate four of the layers at once thanks to the force of the blow. The initial wave shattered on impact when it reached them, bursting around them as shards of lethal glass broke, flowing by safely as the remainder of the shin high torrent caught his legs, not quite as strong as it once would have been... Crisis averted... for now.

But now they needed to get to higher ground, soon this place was going to be underwater. Felix would begin to break for the stairs while the wildlife came pouring in, sharks and aquatic lizards would tear into the flesh of the men behind them, while an entire school of small creatures came surging for Felix and the girl he was ferrying. Closing in meter by meter until they were upon them. Felix would attempt to grab and throw his quarry in front of them to clamber up the stairs while a couple of the fish would make contact, colliding with his legs, stinging bites muted by only the cold water as Felix too would tear himself free from the waves, fresh blood flowing down some of his legs.

But for now... they were free.

"Trust me!"

Those two words had warning bells ringing in her ears. Kalianah stared at him with a doe-eyed expression, worried and uncertain. She didn't know him, not in the slightest, and certainly not with her live. Sure, she was all to happy to play pretend, and play cat-and-mouse games because she was still in control; behaving in a way that manipulated him, the situation, and the outcome, so that it benefited her. But the situation they were in now was entirely different and it frightened her. She wasn't in control any more. And while she was attuned and trained in the Force, she was not a clairvoyant. She did not recognise what his eyes seemed to see, and her every instinct was telling her to run, but her feet eye glued in place, teetering on the edge of trusting him and abandoning him.

It was only when the water collided with his shield, making the layers of it pop, shatter, and detonate, that she understood. If she had run... she would be dead. Kali would have thanked him, rewarded him with another kiss, questioned how he knew to stand his ground, but never got the chance. More water came rushing into the room, bringing with it a menagerie of sea-life; sharks with gnashing teeth, lizards with dagger-like claws, school of carnivorous fish in a blood-frenzy. It was as the screams of the gang-bangers echoed around the room, the sound blood-curdling, making her skin crawl, that Felix dragged her along with him, snapping her from her panic long enough to make it to the stairs, where it was only by the grace of him that she escaped unscathed.

Kalianah landed on the stairs with a thump, the air knocked from her lungs because of the impact, but that didn't stop her from scrambling forward to make room for him to follow behind. She reached for him, helping him from the water, horrified to find him bleeding. Seeing the ichor flowing down his legs had guilt eating at her in an instant. And despite the voice of her father echoing in hear mind, reminding her that a Vantilla never made apologies, the words bubbled to the surface. "I'm so sorry." It hadn't been her fault, not entirely. She hadn't fired the shots that broke the glass. But she had been the one that wanted adventure, and she had been the one to drag him down to the cafeteria.

And she felt responsible for his pain.

She would make it up to him when they got out.

If they got out.

Kali offered him her hand, her shoulder to lean on, in case the bites made it harder to move. And for the first time noticed that this was not the stairwell they had entered through. There were signs on the walls with warnings written in red: no small children past this point, do not use walkway if afraid of heights. These stairs lead to the walkway suspended above the predators enclosure, where visitors could watch as the behemoths were fed and listen to the snap of jaws closing around scraps of meat as the beasts launched from the water to seize the dangling morsels.

If they had a choice, she might had gallivanted off in the other direction, daring the man to chase her down, to capture his prey and claim his reward. But there was another surge of water into the stairwell, bringing the school of circling fish closer, and it was clear there was no other way to go. "We need to keep moving!" Even if that meant going deeper into the maze-like structure of the aquarium.

Felix would agree that they needed to get the hell out of here, it seemed that some of the thugs had managed to get to safety on the other side of the arena. Pulling himself out of the water and leaning on the offered shoulder of the woman as it was offered, he'd force a smile of gratitude, using his saber to swat at the few fish on his legs that had managed to grip on for all they were worth, guzzling the blood from his wounds before falling to the ground as little more than charred bits. His saber would hiss as it retracted, his eyes across the way as several of the bandits would begin firing their blasters into the water below them...

"Yeah, lets move before they figu~"

It was too late, the banditis spied them hauling themselves free on the other side, the few that weren't trying to aid the remainder of their surviving friends would begin to open fire across the ways, scattered and panicked their shots went awry. Felix would grab Kali's arm and begin to move, quickly, a power all to familiar flowing through his body helping him to ignore the stinging feeling that would rocket up his leg whenever his heel slammed into the ground, the sensation preventing his leg from seizing up or collapsing underneath him as he would pull away, narrowly ducking a bolt that got eerily close to his shoulder as he would make his way towards a corridor leading into another of the exhibits.

Unknown to him the pressure of the storm and the animus of the other creatures had already caused several other exhibits to break further up, leaving between them a veritable open petting zoo of some of the galaxies' weirdest and most dangerous sea life between them and freedom. And, considering that the people who worked here likely evacuated before the storm... they hadn't been fed in at least a day... But first things first, they had to think of a plan, thankfully none of the bigger creatures had gotten out yet, but soon one of them would and a bloodied race through the museum would begin... and Felix was leaking blood for all of them to smell.

He'd begin tying up his leg best he could to no longer be leaving a scented trail for them to follow, or at least one as obvious as he had been as he would turn to his date for the night. "So... any ideas on how we get out of here? As much as I love Safari's I think this one is getting a little real for my tastes." In part, Felix was attempting to play coy, but the yellow of fear was beginning to seep into his eyes again, fear for her, fear for himself. He was a strong force user compared to some, but his tallents lay in being able to duel other force users, not fight a menagerie of monsters that were clambering for all their juicy bits. There were a couple of obvious options, elevators, stairs as well as the walkways which spiraled upwards through each of the exhibits, there was no telling which way would work out the best... at least without trying.

There was no room to question or argue - when the first shot had rung out and she had jumped, an involuntary reaction to the volume of the sound, he had already taken her by the arm and was towing her behind him. Kalianah felt the familiar power of the Force through her body, fortifying muscle, and forcing lungs to take in more air as they ran for dear life. And although she was pretending to be the damsel, and perhaps even experiencing a very real fear at that moment, she was not useless. She refused to be. So she ran with him and did not allow him to tow her along. "We need to start moving up," she said in reply to his statement. "We went to the bottom, so it's the only way to go."

She could feel the distress of the creatures, could feel the vibrations through the foundations as they slammed into the glass barriers of their enclosures, could hear the panicked baying in time with the symphony of the storm overhead. It was an educated guess that more than those they had encountered already had escaped. As much was proven true as the duo rounded a corner, only for the sound of crunching glass and wet sloshes to be heard beneath their feet. Kalianah felt the blood run cold in her veins and grabbed at his arm, forcing him to a stop while her blue eyes zoomed to where the exhibit sign was.

If her blood had not been cold before - it was now. "A poisonous bite that begins to rot prey within a matter of hours paired with a..." the words cut out from where something had hit it, the screen shattered into a dozen pieces. But toward the bottom of the sign, there was another snippet of information.

"Hunts in packs."

"Out of the frying pan, into the fire." She breathed out with a forced smile, making light of what was becoming a worse situation for them. Danger raged above in the form of torrential rain and galeforce winds and now it would seem it had found them again - not in the form of thugs with salacious intent but the form of panicked, territorial monsters. Kali stepped forward slowly, her hand finding his to encourage him to follow and to remind him she was there to lean on. After all, he was the one that was hurt, and the likely one of them to be preyed upon. Her steps were purposely slow and she was looking around for any sign of movement, or anything that appeared out of place.

It was this cautiousness that allowed her to sense the movement above them. "Move!" She shoved him away before diving in the opposite direction. Kali hit the ground hard, the air knocked from her lungs as she looked up, first at Felix, and then at the create that stood between them, right where they had been only a moment ago.

Limping in the dark with little more than hazard lights on wasn't exactly what Felix would consider a date, however, as the call of warning went out and he was shoved to a side. Slamming into the ground, the water around where the chunks were missing from his leg bloodying the water where he landed, the cold providing relief as he knew every drop that he was missing was just another part of him lost that would continue to drain his stamina.

The beast that landed was tall, blue and white scaly skin that hid a set of teeth that extended past the lips of the beast like that of a pilot fish. Two arms with webbed, clawed digits and small eyes that were perfect for seeing underwater and in low light, dark places. From its abdomen two tenticles wound around it, seeking out and feeling its environment constantly for something to latch onto...

Normally, R'ora were a somewhat bestial, warlike sentient race when they were of the tribes that came to the surface, adapted to the sentient life of others to the point that they developed enhanced mental functions. Those that didn't come to the surface, kept to the dark became feral, dangerous poisonous creatures that swarmed and hunted anything they could. Endangered and never many in number these feral R'ora were smart and terrifyingly dangerous to any life stupid enough to fall into their traps. Looking up at the roof the writhing bodies of several more readied themselves to pounce.

"Chit! Run!"

Felix would cut and dash down the hall, adrenaline numbing the pain and spurring his leg to move onward, past the creatures as each of them would begin to leap from the ceiling at the moving target, plunging down with ferocious intent to eviscerate and destroy. A Swing and a track of thunder whipped as his lightsaber buried through one of the beasts, but, fighting these creatures would likely lead to all of their demise. There were too many, they were fast, and Felix would find himself surrounded. He was a duelist, and he couldn't focus on that many targets at once... it was a perfect storm for a worst case scenario as one of them bit the bullet.

There was an elevator at the end of the hall, Reaching out a hand a small force push would slap the open button, drawing the metallic doors open to the small room on the inside. From there, Felix could at least hold them off in a bottleneck. "For the elevator!" He'd let out a call, sprinting for the gap and the small protective box as the creatures would whip and lash at his feet, narrowly missing each and every attempt to snag the Rylothian noble.

Hopefully it had an emergency shut.
