Moonage Daydream
With Chevu leaving, Coren nodded. He looked back to Rook, still unsure of what he was thinking about doing. He didn’t think he was going to leave, Rook was a testament and a reason for that. The Alliance was the best bet he had to turn this galaxy away from ruin. With the Republic taking hits the way it was, he needed to do what he could to secure parts of the galaxy. There were Sith to their southwest and the Techno Union to the southeast. The Silver Coaltion was off to the far east of the galaxy. And that had Coren thinking.
But that wasn’t going to be the forefront of his thoughts.
No, the Alliance and where he stood with it were. The one thing about the group here, he knew Voidstalker was a soldier, he knew the man was there for the fight, and would do what was needed when it was needed, should there be no other options. “I need to find a way to work with then, Rook. It may come.” If not, that was why the Guard was with him.
Still, Voidstalker asked a question. “Do I have anything to drink?” That was the first time that the pilot had smiled since… oh, maybe before Gabriel was brought to the Alliance. He turned to his astromech and nodded to the engines. “Arsix, cool the engines.” Looking to the two men, he pointed to the ship.
“Or is this a private word, Jacen?” Always Jacen to his face, but Rook was really and truly Coren’s right hand. And the Commanders and Marshals were on the same level, after all.
