The Liberation of Dac [Republic vs. Sith Empire]

Diana stood within the hangar bay of a Brand new Watts class heavy cruiser. There was a grim look on her face as troops scurried about and shuttles began to be prepped. Every once in a while an officer would scurry up to her and ask her questions about the upcoming invasion. Diana answered them quickly, and curtly. This had been in the making for quite some time now, and most people knew exactly what they had to do.

The liberation of Dac marked an important milestone for the Republic. Mon Calamari had long since been a planet that supporter the Republic and the ideals they stood for. Even under the oppression of the Sith most Mon Calamari had still been in favor of the Republic, even some Quarrens had been in fact.

The long held allegiances of the Waterworld had been no secret, and now that the Republic was coming to liberate the planet...well the populace would more than rejoice.

Diana was to lead this invasion. She was the most recent council member and also perhaps one of the most popular, after her heroic act on Ossus she has formed something of a legend about her, something that secretly she quite enjoyed. So when she had been chosen to lead this liberation, she had taken the chance with only slight hesitation.

“Ma'am, Were arrive in three minutes.”

Diana nodded to the Officer that spoke to her. Good, everything was set. The main objectives were of course Coral City, and the shipyards above the planet. The Mon Calamari had graciously and subtly in their efforts gotten to the shipyards security systems and disabled the massive planetary defense system, this assured that both Republic and Sith Fleet would be occupied with one another, essentially they would be in a stalemate. This would be a ground battle within the Shipyard and the city streets.

Diana didn't like that fact, but she knew it would be better than the death of thousands of ensigns and crew members of ships.

“Get me a fleet wide comm.” Diana said to the officer next to her. The man nodded, eagerness on his face. The Jedi Master smiled at him, and openly accepted the small comm-link device when he offered it to her. She grabbed the device and pressed the button.

“We stand on the eve of one of the greatest events in our history. The Sith Empire is crumbling. One by one their worlds will fall. Ossus was the first. Dac will be the second. Piece by piece we will take back what they have stolen. World by world we will liberate the people they have enslaved!.” There was a cheer in the hangar as she talked of freedom, she could only hope the reaction was similar elsewhere. “Make no mistake, the fighting will be hard, it will be long, but it will be worth it. We will stand against the darkness that is the Empire. We will bring light to the darkest corners of the galaxy! We will overcome them!”

Uproarious cheering for a second, and Diana smiled. Then she continued. “The peoples of Mon Calamari have long supported us, have long loved the Republic and its ideals. Let us repay that support a hundred fold! Let us take back Dac!”

With that little speech over Diana shut off the comm-link, satisfied that she had done a good job. Minutes after she finished her speech the Republic fleet surged out of hyperspace. Almost immediately transports, fighters, and boarding craft began to swarm from the hangars of the ship, each heading for a different location on Dac.

Naval Commander Karen Roberts sat with the bridge crew onboard The Sunrazor D as the Republic Fleet dropped from hyperspace in attack pattern. Her fingers hummed across the tactical panel as the Captain organized their ship with Fleet Control. It was ships like these that would buy time for the ground teams to secure the objectives.

It was time to light up the sky.

DAC
NEW CORAL CITY

Kaine remembered Dac very vividly, it was here that he fought against the then Sith Empress Ashin in a violent showdown in the final hours of the Clockwork Rebellion. Kaine had been previously infected with OMNI nanobytes that had turned him away from his comrades, but luckily after the Rebellion he was cleansed of all nanobytes. Now he came here again to Mon Calamari, to stare down the Republic's advances through Imperial Space. The Campaign had been hard and grueling, with battles raging across the battle lines as they constantly shifted and warped through each battle. Kaine had a feeling the Republic would launch an assault on Mon Calamari, with it's deep ties to democracy and the Republic way, and thus Kaine had prepared a substantial defense of the planet for when that time came. Luckily that time came sooner than later, Kaine had begun to think they wouldn't go for it, but he was proven wrong as a Republic fleet emerged from hyperspace a distance away from the world.

Kaine rose from his cross-legged sitting position in the center of one of the control centers of the capital, New Coral City, and watched as the various officers around him scrambled as the attack began. Around Kaine were six of his Blackblade Praetorian Guard, but there were dozens more deployed throughout the capital commanding regiments of Blackblade Legionaires against the Republic that managed to land in the city. "They are coming, prepare the defenses." Luckily before the battle even remotely began the Blackblades had rounded up the civilians and placed them in concentration camps across Imperial Space, but sadly there had been a few groups of holdouts that had survived the purges, and they disabled the planetary shields. When the Republic's attack began those holdouts emerged from the woodwork to aid them, but the Blackblades were making short work of any that had popped up in the capital city, but Kaine couldn't say how well the Imperial forces in the other cities were fairing.

Now he waited, lightsaber firmly grasped in his right hand as he looked up into the quickly darkened sky.

Mon Calamari had been in the Empires control for too long now; it was finally time for it to return to Republic sovereignty. Now under the name of Dac, as the Sith had always known it by, the Quarrens and Mon Calamari alike had lived in fear of their Sith Masters for several decades, it was finally time for them to be freed. The Republic had to show the galaxy that it would no longer tolerate the actions of the Sith Empire, it was finally time for the extinction of the Sith to begin.

Standing on the bridge of one of the many warships entering the Calamari system, Rasu looked on at the Imperial Capital ships orbiting the planet, and behind that, the metallic ring that circled the aquatic world; Dac’s shipyards. For thousands of years, these shipyards had supplied massive warships all across the galaxy, gifting systems with a new powerful form of defense and now they were in the hands of the Sith. Why the Republic had let the Empire take the ocean world was unknown to the Shi’ido, but now they had an obligation to its people. The Quarrens and Mon Calamari had been abandoned, left to work for the Sith, their shipyards fuelling the Imperial war machine. It was time to cut off this vital resource from the Empire. The Shi’ido knew that if this invasion was to prove successful, the ship yards would have to be a top priority for the Republic forces.

Rasu's attention was suddenly caught by the fleet intercom. The Shi'ido listened intently as Diana Moridena, the Jedi leading this invasion, spoke truly inspirational words to all those taking part in the up and coming battle. With the Jedi Master's words still lingering i her head, Rasu turned away from the massive viewing screen and began to leave the bridge, signalling one of the naval officers. "Prepare a shuttle, I want it fully equipped with weaponry and troops in the next five minutes." she told him, as she left the bridge and made her way into a turbo lift which would take her to the ship's hangar bay.

Pulling out her communicator, she sent a quick message to her friend and fellow Jedi, Sochi Ru, informing her of her departure, hoping to meet her on their shuttle. Rasu's mind raced through what was about to happen, through the Force she could feel the anxiety and fear of all the troops, on both sides, all knew that this would be a bloody battle. However if Rasu's plan worked smoothly, she hoped to lower the amount of Republic blood split, plan's however never really worked to perfection so aspects of her strategy would have to be adapted as the invasion played on. Departing the lift, she headed over to her shuttle, where Republic soldiers and Jedi were already embarking. The Shipyards were the key to a Republic victory, so it was the shipyards where Rasu would go.

DAC
NEW CORAL CITY

Sawa made a face as she stood there and remained at the ready, her lightsaber more or less for show but she had learned how not to chop her own limbs off with it. She would just have to rely on her speed and power to do it and compensate for less knowledge with her blade. The force was still new and the breathe she took while preparing to fight near the emperor more then enough for her. The armorweave bodysuit developed by Valik for the sith was also a plus and something that could help.

@[member="Kaine Zambrano"]

Balaya had chosen to stay by her masters side, in this fight he would need support and with the three heads of the mando's the Fels and the republic a brute with powerful armor was a benefit not many could pass up. Her sneer though at seeing what was coming her saber was singing as the dark'chyld crystal inside it was loud enough for all to hear and her armor gleamed with its crystasteel plates showing the turadium bikini. All part of the plan she hoped while letting her hair fall in a thick mane down the length of her back. "Once again my master, do you think your insanity trick till harm them again?"

Tormax stood with @[member="Balaya Zambrano"] and the Emperor @[member="Kaine Zambrano"] himself. He felt himself quite lucky to be in the midst of one of the greatest Sith in the Empire. He didn't really know who the zeltron was, but he couldfind that out after the battle for Mon Calamari.

He remained quiet while he listened to Balaya's question and clasped his hands behind his back, where his amphistaff was located in a harness on his back. It was quite the weapon, it would have a lot of advantages in this battle. It was a shame he hadn't yet mastered how to make the staff change forms. He was told it could turn into a whip, and even spit venom. Tormax knew about the poison, but he didn't find out until recently that it could shoot it, itself.

"I will kill many Jedi at your side, Emperor." The obviously ambitious Apprentice said as he stood to the side and a little to the back of both Balaya and Kaine Zambrano.

Saki

Came in like a wrecking maul
ABOVE DAC

Saki was gearing up now, she had more then enough time and this place was going to be all about kicking sith ass while the fleet did its fleety thing. She wouldn't have to worry to much though in the end as it was all coming to what they could do and she had seen Karen Robaert with them. That meant more then enough for them all to go about fighting. After ossus she had done plenty when it came down to fighting sith she had learned a few things mainly use the armored robes she had been given. She had converted the robes into a vest and kama that hung down from her hips with the plastoid armor plates, the wraith bracers that were only for a few in the order Darron had been able to hand out. The blue bracers mirrored imperial knights bracers and she had to admit to a few things. It was going to be fun to punch another sith in the face.

Heading up the shuttle’s loading ramp Theo took a deep breath trying to relax. It had been years since he partook in a battle. It was years ago when he was still part of the Jedi Order and willing used the Force. That battle was not the reason why he let the Order and severed his connection from the Force. He had left the Order out of obligations to his family. It had nothing to do with the Order.

There he had found himself taking a set among the squad of Republic Troopers assigned to the diplomatic team. Sitting there he looked at his blast vest and to one of the troopers. “Sure you don’t want more armor SIR”, the trooper Theo was looking at asked. “No”, Theo laughed as if he heard a joke being told to him, “I’m fine thank you.” Theo knew they were heading straight into a battle. He no longer had the Force to summon. It also help he had an old sightless DL-40 heavy blaster pistol at his right hip. His old lightsaber on his left hip might come in handy too.

“Sergeant have you seen the Jedi who is supposed to join us”, Theo asked looking out the back of the troop transport for @[member="Aika Kawakami"] and @[member="Tallia Farn"].

Aboard the lead starship Darc prepared himself for the oncoming battle over the system of Dac. After hearing Diana proclamation over the standing fleet Darc turned to the strike team assigned to New Coral City. It seemed in this era the Sith were much weaker and passive then what he could remember. His mind still conflicted with the past, being on Ossus only brought back the vigor he once wanted to avoid. The Republic, a place he knew little about, was his home now. The endless struggle and regressions is what came with it, but here it was different. Though Ossus put relapsed a few memories so did new ones surfaced. Or perhaps it was an old one so long again. A boy finding a life with meaning.

He turned to the transparisteel view and leaned on the frame thoughtfully. His gaze strayed to his right hand glowing dimly with a peaceful light for the very first time in his life.

Aerrah breathed inwards and outwards. Repetitively so in a meditative state. She sat cross legged in a lightness room, the only noise her breathing and the odd soldier running by the door. As every battle may be your last, she tried in vain to make her peace. Still she was raw with the news her sister betrayed the Empire. Hawke always seemed the stalwart rock; maybe she saw the forthcoming invasion and was not the stoic commander she seemed. Weakness and fear ruled her heart? Aerrah could not answer until she saw her again. All dependent on this battle.

Exhaled breath one last tine. Her eyes opened to the darkness, embracing it. The chaotic emotions would empower her for this fight. The Dark Side was with her. Aerrah emerged from her make do meditation room. Soon The Republic would storm this city. Many will fall, but will she?

"We forced the Empire off our world once. They fought with blasters and fighters, destroying cities at will. We fought with whatever we had – kitchen utensils, industrial tools, our bare hands. We won that time." -Gial Ackbar

DAC'S ATMOSPHERE
LEADING STRIKE TEAM THREE

The Doc natives had fought off oppression from their world for years. From the Clone Wars, through to the initial years of the Rebellion; and each time they triumphed. Kiskla was confident in those reaching out as diplomats-- they would find success in the governments. It was in the Mon Calamari's and Quarren's history. Mostly the Mon Cal though.

But as for the forces that were of a more aggressive nature, such forces she was aligned with, the fight would be more intense. The Sith would not give up their grounds so easily; especially since their bitter loss on Ossus. And on a city suspended above water? She could only pray that those involved in the Mannaan defense team would not sink this city as they had at that watery city. Speaking of Water, the gravity of the arena was just beginning to strike the blonde; she was from a desert planet. She loved water though, it fascinated her and always struck her as beautiful; no matter it's form.
She could only hope that it would not be a sea of blood by the end of this.

As for herself, the mistress of the Force clutched the dangling support system as her and the soldiers with her. Some were strapped in with the support webbing, others readied their weapons. There were at lease thirty in her assigned strike team, all ready to liberate the men and women on the planet below; just as the announcement from @[member="Diana Moridena"] had proclaimed. Kiskla was far from passive, as her simmering presence evidenced itself beyond her youthful sarcasm and wit.

The shipyards grew into sight, and the first defensive rounds were fired at the underbelly of the Watts Class Cruiser. It was a ship she was familiar with, and had actually assisted in the redesigning of after Valen. It would prevail.
Standing ahead of the soldiers, she closed her eyes for a moment, summoning the Force to her aid, and focusing her powerful centre. There as an air of resolve about the compartment, tinged with the slightest amount of fear; a healthy dosage for any soldier about to enter combat.

This vessel was to overpass the surrounding Shipyards and drop the troops off at the capital city. Right where the majority of the Sith were commanding from.

Saran sat in a shuttle, waiting to go. This was it, the first true test of her. Her wrist now healed, and all three of her blades at the ready, she contemplated what role she could have in the battle ahead. Letting herself go into the fury of it, although it would limit her to Shi-Cho, would allow her to cause more damage. But, that was too close to the Dark side than she wanted to delve. She could follow @[member="Rasu Gan"] and the others, focusing on protecting the troops. Because that worked SO well last time. At least she wouldn't be alone this time. She remained unnoticed as the officer readied the ship, however, it startled her. She showed nothing, but still, she got out shortly after He stepped away.

Eenes cracked an eye as @[member="Diana Moridena"]'s speech crackled over the speaker. Her facial tentacles twisted in the Quarren equivalent of a smile. Today, she would help take back her homeworld.

She stood, feeling the blood flowing through her legs and the Force flowing through her spirit. She wouldn't actually go to the surface, at least not immediately. Most Quarren would be in underwater cities, far from the fighting that would mostly take place on the surface. She had nothing against Mon Cals, but past experience had taught her that there was little love lost between them and her people. As much as she desperately wanted a swim in her planet's familiar waters, she would stay in orbit. The shipyards were an important objective, and it was there that Eenes was headed.

She strode into the hanger, paying close attention to which ships were going where. She saw another Jedi and approached her, attempting to appear confident. "Hello there. Where are you headed?" (@[member="Rasu Gan"]) Perhaps she could hitch a ride, if they were headed in the same direction.

Watts Class Heavy Cruiser
Hangar Bay

Feeling the presence of another Jedi approach her, Rasu turned expecting to see Sochi behind her, however was surprised to instead find a Quarren standing there. The Shi'ido had never seen this Jedi before, which was strange as now with her new promotion to the Headmistress of the Academy she had looked over the files of all current Jedi and couldn't pinpoint the identity of the squid-like being in front of her. The Quarren asked her where she was headed, which again made the Shi'ido curious. Rasu would have thought that all aquatic species would have been deployed to the surface, no questions asked. However the Jedi standing in front of her was proof that this wasn't the case so disregarded the idea.

Acknowledging the Quarren with a nod, she replied to the females question, "Well we're just waiting on one more Jedi before we set a course for the shipyards. Would you like to join us?" This wasn't really the time for pleasantries, Rasu didn't want to know too much about this Quarren as you never knew when loved one's could be suddenly taken away. If this Jedi wanted to accompany them, Rasu wouldn't deny them of the privilege, one more addition to the group at least. Looking back into the shuttle, Rasu counted near to thirty beings in the passenger bay, thirty two counting herself and Sochi and then another if this Quarren wanted to join them. The more the merrier, Rasu thought, I just hope Sochi isn't too far behind.

@[member="Sochi Ru"], @[member="Eenes Kokad"], @[member="Saran Drast"]

"Absolutely. I'm headed that way as well." Good. One of the biggest mistakes Eenes had made on Ossus was staying separated from other Jedi until the end of the battle. It was looking like that wouldn't be a problem thus time around. "I do not believe we have met. I am Eenes Kokad. Who might you be?"

@[member="Rasu Gan"] @[member="Saran Drast"] @[member="Sochi Ru"]

"Headmistress Rasu Gan, it's a pleasure Knight Kokad." the Shi'ido said, extending her hand out to the Quarren. There group seemed to be growing larger which was good to see. The hope of success often relied on numbers so Rasu gratefully accepted any extra help. "If you don't mind, it would probably be best if you go strap yourself in to the shuttle, we'll be departing any second now. Every second counts so if you wouldn't mind." She said gesturing towards an empty spot among the other troops that would be deployed with her. Rasu wasn't surprised if any others decided to come join her group, as the shipyards were quite an important aspect of the invasion. However the Shi'ido would not be waiting long. As soon as Sochi was seated in the shuttle they would be off. Leaning against the metal frame, Rasu waited for any other unexpected arrivals.

A lone figure of a boy watched casually from the shadows of New Coral City unnoticed. Waiting for the battle to begin. Sent here by his current employer to simply "do as needed." What that meant he had no clue but it would all come out in the wash... on the matter of wash the boy wasnt particularly keen on the whole City above water thing. The salt smell reeked and the waves made him feel sick if he watched them too closely. "Bah!" he scoffed that didnt matter there is a job to do. He waited in watch of ships. waiting for the moment he might be needed..

NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWW CORRAAAAALLLL CITAAAAAAH
AT LEAST ABOVE IT
AND THEN ONTO THE GROUND

Tracyn was screaming. He was howling, a war cry that could shake Krayt Dragons and nearly shatter wills by the sound alone could be heard above the city, with the rider of the speeder coming down at a vertical angle to the surface, obviously against the speeder's wishes. He gritted his teeth, the wind chipping at his uncovered face, and his armored hands gripping the wheel tightly. Two hundred meters to ground impact, the onboard computer said. Tracyn responded by punching it, not bothering to care what some stoopid computer told him what to do. Reeling back on the wheel, Tracyn turned the speeder upwards, and went to the ground. He landed, with a heavy thud. He didn't crash exactly, but his landing wasn't graceful. Blackblades began to swarm around Tracyn, and Tracyn roared. There was something feral, almost animal-like in the way Tracyn began about dispatching them, not bothering to use his lightsaber. He used his bare hands. Not even the crushgaunts. His hands alone. Even with their powered up gauntleted hands, Tracyn tore through them, and was eventually down to the last man. He went for the breathing tube that he had, ripping them out, causing the man to have a sudden influx of air. Not that it would impede him in any way, but what came next would. Tracyn first punched him in the throat, feeling his windpipe break, and started to watch him violently choke.

But that wasn't enough for Tracyn. Tracyn needed for them to understand what they had done. Blackblade legions were evil, vile humans and soldiers that needed to be made an example of. Tracyn, felt the force go into his already-mighty arms, and found himself burdened with glorious dismemberment related-purposes. Pressing his foot along the man's ribcage, he pulled on his arm. Hard. Fabric tore. The man tried to scream, but found it rather impossible. He could feel the muscles stretch beyond their limits, and the skin starting to tear and give with his mighty pull. Eventually, there was a sickening pop as he ripped it out of it's socket. Tracyn turned and gave one final tug, and a shower of blood, sinew, bone fragments, and various other body fluids showered Tracyn and the area around him. The man thrashed about, before dying several seconds later. And for half a second, Tracyn smiled. He turned, and gave off a mighty, and frightening roar.

"TAL'GALAR!"

Tracyn bellowed, his voice almost a challenge to the Sith and the blackblade forces into the area. He slipped on his crushgaunts, feeling the familiar weight and protection that they offered. He curled his hands into a fist, and snarled as his granite-colored eyes shifted around the area, looking for the next focus of his attack.

Saran spoke up from behind @[member="Rasu Gan"]. "Knight Rasu, do we happen to have a stealth ship? I may have an idea." She smiled. Her force presence was one that could be seen as a dark Jedi, and she had the blade to prove it. If she could get there first, and put on a show of failing to stop the Jedi in the hanger, and "retreat" deeper into the station, she may be able to clear an area for them. Explaining her plan to the Shi'ido and @[member="Eenes Kokad"], Saran was almost ready to perform such a task.
