I'm aware fully that it is a spoiler and it was his bad, I'm just pointing out it may not be as bad as people are making it out to be. I'm not exactly familiar with how CoD games work, but could that title have applied to an array of different character possibilities? If CoD follows just one character throughout, then I fully understand the anger shown towards the obvious spoiler. Definitely would not have hurt to put it in a spoiler box, though.

Ah, that is true- though one could also say the mention of the word 'scene' in the title suggests a spoiler. Of course, the title itself can be considered a spoiler, considering it tells you that there is, in fact, a scene in which a robot does a thing. Though, also of course, the game seems to have a lot of robots, so that's not entirely surprising, really.

Does it require a spoiler warning? Technically no. Should it have one? Eh, this isn't something I care much about, but I can understand not wanting spoilers for things I do care about, so I can see why a spoiler warning would be best. My 'concern' was probably more of how much of a reaction the lack of a spoiler got. Though, admittedly, I haven't slept in over 20 hours and am still recovering from a migraine, so I could quite easily be misinterpreting things again.

Wouldn't be the first time.

Regardless, Mr. Bane has a point about getting off topic. So I'll just shimmy back into "violence analysis" mode.

Mortal Kombat is of course known for its over the top violence...But its done in a silly, arcade-ish way.
Black Ops however has always clung to some level of realism and tried to be serious.
Mortal Kombat, in my opinion, started off arcade-ish, but more recently has 'gotten more serious'. As the graphics have improved, it's become a lot harder for it to be silly. While the moves themselves are ridiculous, impractical, and highly unrealistic, they managed to look like they could be legit, if all of the involved characters were real. They have, as well, somehow managed to get increasingly violent. Mortal Kombat is one of the reasons why this video didn't bother me- in my mind it was nothing compared to some of the fatalities I've seen.

Black Ops is something I'm less familiar with. However, I stand firm(ish) on my opinion that the sequence shown in the video isn't really that bad*. It's bloody brutal, yeah, but it's not fully realistic. I can look at that scene and not feel much because I know that it's not happening to a real human. Other people, understandably, wouldn't feel the same way. Honestly I think we've already made worse things than this, but I can understand the concern, and will continue to support the idea of proper warnings 'n whatnot. Games like Black Ops 3 should be given a mature rating.

Games like that Mario level creator thing or whatever should be labeled E for everyone. It works.

You're thinking of Dead Space 2, when a semi-major character gets an eye ripped out via a screwdriver.
Oh, yikes, I forgot about that part. I was thinking of the scene where Isaac (did I spell that right? I always get his name wrong for some reason) had to get that data-thing from his brain or something (I only vaguely remember watching Markiplier play it). He had to perform minor 'surgery' with a big needle or something. It was terrifying for me, even though Mark got through it without failing. Failing causes an absolutely horrible sequence that I've unfortunately seen due to those lists of "Top 10 goriest scenes from gaming" that I really shouldn't watch.

Honestly I think everyone is getting out of sorts for nothing. BO3 was the first scene that game to mind, there was a dozen others I could have linked. And to be honest, I think some people are putting it on a bit thick for no reason. Black Ops 3 came out months ago, If you're a fan super dedicated to the game, you've bought it already. We can't go through life like this shouting at people over spoilers. After a certain point you just have to admit "Well, i'm probably not going to watch/play/read this" And just move on with your life. Because there are people here trying to discuss something semi-serious in relation to human psychology and the entertainment media. Did I mess up by not putting a spoiler tag in the tittle? Yes. Does it however warrant what was almost a personal attack? If it is I would seriously suggest reevaluating your morals and personal views

It always freaks me out when I hear bones snapping like that, though. If anything, that is what freaked me out the most. If the scene wasn't fuzzy/covered in blood, it probably would have made me ten times more uncomfortable.

Absurd. Plenty of people don't buy games day-1, or play it straight away. That's not an excuse to be inconsiderate.

"Well, i'm probably not going to watch/play/read this"

Except I am going to play it.

Did I mess up by not putting a spoiler tag in the tittle? Yes.

And an apology would be app. Doubling down, and putting the blame on others, because you didn't put spoilers tag in the title is ridiculous.

There has been no personal attacks.

There was no mention of the word "scene" in the title.
