The Mandalorian Crusade | MC vs GR Invasion of Kashyyyk OOC

I am terribly sorry for the Republic whom I promised to help, but unfortunately I will have to drop out of the invasion. Before the invasion, there was not a single word about the Republic's approach, so I was expecting to have a simple fight-styled invasion. I do not like the way the faction suddenly changed its ways, so I regrettably see there to be no better option than to drop out.

I would like to remind all Mandalorians and allies of the Clans that we're here to win an Invasion, and that Invasion has not been won yet.

Remember the two-strike rule the FO of the Republic and I have agreed to. I don't care how many GR allies leave, remain respectful of your fellow Chaos writers.

If you cannot remain respectful, I ask that you remain silent.

Keep your eye on the prize. We have a war to win.

I'm actually only fielding [member=Alena Reckar] in combat on this one, so Ali won't be around. But there will be future invasions, the UMC promises you! :D

There will be plenty of combat for all who wants it; individual endeavors will remain unaffected. It is our faction effort that will be focused on the media campaign, in order to add another element to the story-telling in the invasion, and the expanding conflict as a whole.
The DM roles are to help facilitate the story-telling on both sides by coordinating allied combat efforts and providing fun obstacles for the UMC and their allies.

Because the judgment criteria on invasions has changed from an objective-oriented rubric to one that focuses on story quality and faction teamwork, we determined this was a positive and productive approach. Participation/adherence is not required in order to remain in the invasion or write alongside the Republic faction.

If this changes your respective decisions, then we'll be glad to see you continue writing with us; if not, then we'll lament your departure and wish you the best in your writing endeavors.

Considering you leapt from one side of the conflict to another on a whim, it's clear you've only endeavored to save yourself. ;D

It appears there is confusion over the intent of the "DM" approach to the invasion. If you find yourself confused about the details of this approach, I personally apologize for a lack of clarification on my part, and will endeavor to correct that here below:

For GR writers:

As noted before, DM'ing will only apply to the overall GR faction narrative of the media campaign and combat-oriented responses to UMC writers. Individual stories are not affected by this.

If you are writing a character on the side of the GR, and are engaging in battles and stories on your own, please, continue to do so. Your writing will go unmolested.

However, if you are looking to participate in the overall faction narrative that features the media campaign, you'll need to coordinate with the other GR writers similarly engaging on that front. This is so we can weave a cohesive story as a faction.

Specifically for UMC writers:

DM'ing GR responses to UMC character actions will retain the same boundaries as employed by individual writers engaging in PvP.
We will help coordinate the actions of those characters on our side, as well as responses to actions employed by characters on your side.
UMC writers are not being asked to submit their characters to the wills of GR writers or staff.
Another aspect of this effort will be to place obstacles and puzzles in the way of the UMC writers for them to overcome or work around, such as physical barriers, military forces, environmental hazards, etc.

I failed to properly convey this distinction before because the thought that we would attempt to do dictate the actions of your characters never crossed my mind. To me, it was understood that to do so would be a gross breach of writer etiquette. I hope this explanation has assuaged any concerns over writer autonomy, and convinces those writers who have summarily left the invasion to continue sharing their stories with us all gathered here.

If anyone still has questions as to how this is intended to work, please contact me or other faction leaders directly for further explanation.

Cheers and beers, and best of luck to everyone!

Ali
