Private The Masquerade

Alicio struggled to keep up with the Form's unpredictable style. Even his talents in precognition only just kept him from completely biffing the exercise. But there was a satisfaction in it, too. Every mistake was an opportunity to grow, and grow he did, letting his Gift and his visions guide every molecule

He was a natural.

Even if he was sweating a bit hard as Valery disengaged.

Alicio ran his sweater's arm over his forehead, flicking off Introspect, and halting it's silent song. He held up the hilt, inspecting the black metal with his cobalt grey eyes, but with a far brighter expression on his face than before. "When I created my crystal, I had no idea what I was doing. It was a moment of feverish inspiration. But I never felt in control."

Alicio walked over to the discarded cane, hefting it in his other hand. "Just now was the first time I ever felt... comfortable isn't the right word... unified? With my lightsaber. The Force. Like they were a part of me, instead of something I use." The Count clicked his hilt back into it's slot on the cane, disguising it's form once more.

"No questions for now. I know I'm not very good yet, but I swear I'll be a master at this new dance for next time." He suddenly retreated from his gusto.

"If you wish there to be a next time, I mean."

Valery took a deep breath and ran a hand up through her long hair to fix it in place a little again, but her eyes remained fixed on Alicio as he disengaged his blade and returned the weapon to the cane,
"Created your crystal?" Valery asked with curiosity clear in her tone, "Not something I hear often, but it could explain a few things."

"Usually when Jedi or Force users go through a crystal gathering, there is one that calls out to them. When acquired, it bonds with the owner, which is what helps create that unified feeling."
Valery said as she studied his weapon from afar for a moment. "I'm glad this training session has helped you feel more connected though — it can make quite the difference in an actual fight."

The woman then adjusted her stance and bowed her head,
"With enough practice, I'm sure you'll master these basics quickly. It all seemed to come quite naturally to you. Then next time, I could perhaps help you learn a Form that really fits you..." she paused, pursed her lips and after a moment of thought, she nodded a little to herself.

"I already have an idea that could work, and I believe would be fitting for you. But it helps if you feel completely confident with what we covered today first. So when that time comes, feel free to reach out."

As he thought back to his crystal's creation, Alicio's countenance shifted to a colder place, resting his cane at his side, withdrawing into himself, and listening to Valery. He had poured his being into creating Introspect's heart, had carved out a piece of himself to forge into it. The process had been straining, painful.

For the first time, he'd felt reunited with that fragment of his soul. That feeling of reconnecting made him realize there was something missing in the first place.

He snapped back to attention, nodding. "I'll practice when I can. When I'm ready, and... well, when I have a day off... I'll contact you. Then we can get to this mysterious new Form." He bowed deeply, left hand supporting the cane, right over his heard, a gesture of deep respect. "Thank you for the dance, Valery."

He then turned on a heel, and left for his ship, admiring the Temple's architecture on the way out. He imagined the generations of Jedi that might have trained here. And for the first time since he was child...

He imagined himself among them. Perhaps one day.
