Azzie grinned as she led the way through the pulsing crowd; the irony that she was the shortest of them and yet somehow the loudest was absolutely not lost on her as they navigated toward the bar. The music was a living thing, reverberating through her chest like a second heartbeat. This was her kind of place—loud, energetic, and just chaotic enough to make the galaxy's problems feel far away.
Katherine's remark about regret echoed in her ears, and Azzie shot her a wicked grin.
"No regrets, Kit Kat! I've got plenty—and I promise it was obtained legally." She teased,
"Let's see if you can drink us all under the rug now!"
Between the drinks and the energy of the club, the tension in the group was starting to ease—except for Colette. Azzie had caught the wary set of her shoulders, the way she scanned the room even as she tried to play it cool. She knew that feeling all too well. With a casual motion, Azzie pulled one of the gold and gemstone
hairpins from her short hair, its intricate design catching the flashing lights. She stepped close to Colette, voice low as she pressed it into her palm.
"Hidden self-defense item," she murmured with a wink.
"Not as good as your knife, but if it makes you feel more comfortable, you can wear it."
Azzie wasn't one for big speeches about trust and safety (on a night like this, at least), but actions spoke louder than words. And right now they were all here to have fun. No worries. No looking over shoulders.
At least, not too much.
As they approached the bar, she glanced back as Everest shyly echoed her order. Azzie snorted, eyes gleaming with mischief.
"Are you sure about that, Eve?" she joked, draping an arm around the taller padawans' shoulders for a brief moment.
"I tend to go for drinks that are strong and spicy. Might be a little much for a first-timer." Still, she turned to the bartender with an easy grin, rapping her knuckles against the counter to get his attention.
"Something good as long as it's got kick to it," she said, leaving the choice in his hands.
"Actually, make it two. And whatever the rest of these lovely ladies would like—we're all on my tab tonight."
Colette's quiet admission about never being a guest at a place like this caught Azzie's attention. She shot her a knowing smile, her voice just loud enough to cut through the cacophony.
"Well, first time for everything, yeah? Just think of it like a get-together, just with more... questionable decisions."
Azzie caught the way Tigris leaned in to reassure Everest, the quiet strength in her words, the way Eve seemed to relax—just a little—under her touch. She didn't know Tigris well, but that didn't matter. Eve trusted her, and that was enough. Any friend of Eve's was a friend of hers.
"She's right. Let yourself lighten up a little. But not too much; Master Valery might have my behind if I have to carry you all the way back to Coruscant." She laughed and gave Tigris a nod, a silent acknowledgment, a mutual understanding between warriors who had seen more than anyone might have thought for being as young as they were.
"Glad to have you with us," she said casually, but the weight behind it was real.
Soon, the bartender slid over a pair of drinks, golden liquid swirling with something red and faintly luminescent. She grabbed one and held it out toward Everest, quirking a brow.
"Moment of truth, Eve. You in?"
