Her lower lip produced a shiver, both out of sadness and fear, when he revealed that he was indeed angry with her. It was a hard blow, even if she had expected it. The girl wanted to speak, to apologise, but Jas kept talking. First, he asked what she tried to say before, then he proceeded to correctly guess what she was trying to say, and finally, he proceeded to tell her that it wasn't her fault. Millicent's eyes were watering as her lower lip shivered - she was moved by what he said. Sure, he was indirectly saying that she didn't have agency over her own actions - but he did it with kind intentions. He said it to make her feel better, even pinning the blame on himself. Maybe killing all those people wasn't such a big deal for him and that he didn't think it was much of a gesture, but she appreciated it nonetheless "Thank you" she said, her voice as small as ever. She tried to force a smile, but it faded almost immediately after. His words had warmed her heart but it was hard to turn around in the matter of seconds.

As he mentioned not appreciating her running away, having made the presence of his hand on her leg well known with his squeeze, the thief looked down, bordering on feeling ashamed. He had demonstrated the strength he possessed on numerous occasions and she knew that he could do her a lot of harm if he decided to squeeze hard. For a few moments, she wondered if it was a subtle threat or not. If it was, it was working very efficiently as the thought of having her leg broken scared her to her very core.

But then, he called her a friend. For some reason, it didn't make her as happy as she thought it would - was something missing? Regardless, she was incredibly glad and a sweet smile quickly grew on her lips. So far, she had been a pet, a toy or a tool. But now, he said that she was a friend. Putting away the now empty bowl, she started to rise. It was a slow process as the pain coursed through her with increasing intensity. She tried to hide it but it was hard and she drew a few pained breaths. Despite having pushed through it in a few steps, she finally had to lie back down. Her eyes lingered on him - Millicent wanted to hug him but her current state wouldn't allow her to do that. Instead of saying it, she reached out with a hand. Her small soon reached his with her soft fingers brushing against it. She would hold it if he just brushed it a little closer "Thank you, Master. I won't do it again" she said, this time having no difficulties with addressing him properly.

Jas was glad to see that her spirits were slowly rising. He watched closely as she tried to sit upright, but the pain was clearly too much for her. She laid back down and instead tried to take hold of his hand. He looked down and slowly inched it upwards to let her take hold. She promised not to do it again and he looked up with a faint smile. "I really hope so, Millicent. You are a very pleasant soul... and I did promise to let you free once I feel that you fulfilled your duties to me. I stand by that. And, believe it or not, I do not enjoy hurting you." he admitted softly as he shifted closer and carefully pushed some hair out of her face. His gaze lingered for a few seconds before he looked away and cleared his throat.

"You are still injured. You need to rest." he muttered as he rose and took hold of the blanket, gently tucking her in. "Sleep. When you wake up, I will look at your wounds... and maybe we can discuss payment for your servitude. Slaves do not earn money... but I have no need for the credits I have and I feel that it is only right to maybe give you some money of your own." he explained, resting his hands on her small shoulders as he smiled down at her.

He rose and picked up the bowl, turning to leave. "If you need something, ask me." he spoke as he started to walk away.
