Shiraya's Odyssey
ORDER OF SHIRAYA
"In every action we take, we must embody the light of Shiraya— we lead with compassion, defend the defenseless with courage in our hearts, and do our utmost to serve with humility." - Briana Sal-Soren
A New Light
The Order of Shiraya takes its name from the ancient and revered Naboo Moon Goddess, Shiraya, a figure from the Naboo pantheon and a symbol of light, prosperity, and hope.
First founded as a Jedi Enclave by Briana Sal-Soren as a way to both honor her mother and bring a steady and consistent Jedi presence to her homeworld in response to the numerous threats and attacks it'd faced over the years, the Enclave has seen steady and continuous growth since it began, evolving into what is now known as the Order of Shiraya.
While formally affiliated with the New Jedi Order and held to the same standards as any Jedi, the Order of Shiraya stands independent from their New Jedi counterparts with their own cultural customs, practices, freedoms, and governing body, often found wearing red and golden robes that honor their Naboo roots and focusing primarily on the well-being and defense of the Royal Naboo Republic.
A Legacy of The Force
The Orders founder, Briana Sal-Soren, brought a wealth of experience shaped by her experiences in the Great Hyperspace War, the Cataclysm of Naboo, and years of training under two of the most esteemed and formidable figures in the Jedi as a whole; Valery Noble , the Grand Master of the New Jedi Order and The Sword of the Jedi; and the late Romi Jade , a renowned duelist and former Grand Master in her own right. Under their tutelage, Briana honed her skills in both the art of combat and the deeper philosophies of the Jedi.
It is no surprise, then, that the Order of Shiraya has a strong element of combat readiness and strategic acumen integrated with its more peaceful philosophies and training practices, placing an emphasis on the importance of combat, without losing sight of their moral and ethical standards.
Training Methods and Values
Rooted in the 25 Chambers Philosophy that was developed by Romi Jade, the Order pushes their Jedi to learn through conditioning, hands-on experiences, and harsh environments, learning everything a typical Jedi would, with the expectation that the majority of their knowledge and skills will be developed by engaging directly with real-world challenges and situations.
The best way to truly understand the galaxy—and those they strive to protect—is by being immersed in it, taking an active and proactive role in its defense and betterment.
To this end, the Order does not confine its members to a singular area of expertise. Instead, students are encouraged to explore diverse roles that best fit their strengths and interests. Some avenues that students have been known to pursue includes service in the AgriCorps, the PeaceCorps, the Artisanal Division, and even as Diplomatic Ambassadors, where they can focus on humanitarian aid, ecological stewardship, creative expression, and diplomacy.
But for others with a calling toward defense and leadership, the Order fully supports and even encourages its Jedi who choose to hold military rank within the Royal Security Corps (RSC). These members may serve in elite units like Shiraya's Vanguard (Army), or as Jedi Aces (Navy).
They are not just peacekeepers, but leaders and guardians who stand at the forefront of Naboo's defense. By assuming these roles, they actively shape the course of events and the direct future of the Royal Naboo Republic, guiding others through their actions and setting an example of what it means to serve with honor and integrity.
