The Pact of Black and Blue [Sith Empire & Chiss Ascendancy]

When it raines... it pours.

The Syndic looked down upon the Sabosen woman and gave a simple, curt nod, then Mitth'oru'sabosen turned to begin falling in behind Vice Admiral Mitth'orn'eruod, Emperor Carnifex and his entourage from the Sith Empire as did other Chiss family leaders; many whom may see their Houses rise once again after the traitors were dealt with bringing the Chiss Ascendancy back to balance and prosperity.

The Sabosen family had endured much at the hands of House Qell, who had supplanted House Sabosen and taken charge of the justice, health, and education of the Chiss Ascendancy during the Iron Empire reign when the Sabosen's firmly voted no on becoming a vassal state of the Outsider regime. The Qell family continued 'licking the boots of their foreign master' once again when the Jen'ari came to power over Chiss space. Mitth'oru'sabosen was a pragmatic man, but the former justiciar would not bat an eye if the harshest of punishments were brought down upon the Qell Aristocra for his personal greed above that of the welfare of the Ascendency and its people as a whole. And that went for the other traitorous Ruling House leaders as well. He would like nothing better than to spit on their boots before maximum justice was carried out. But execution was unlikely the punishment that would befall them.... or was it?

With [member="Sentiri"]'s introduction completed, it was Ari's turn to give a formal greeting as well.

"And I am Vosiserci Brask'ari'sabosen, a senior medical officer and battle surgeon serving with the CEDF's Medical Corps," the doctor offered with a smile. "Shall we?" she added a moment later, motioning with her hand to follow her father as he made his way to the door leading to the chamber where the Trial would take place.

Brask'ari'sabosen's gaze caught a glimpse of the bag slung over the Intel agent's shoulder. "I take it you just arrived? I have been back for a few months now. And to be honest, I do not miss the other Unknown Regions," she commented with a knowing look.

It truly was good to be home.

Sentiri nodded in acknowledgement to the Syndic's daughter as she took her place in step along side [member="Karisa"]. "It is... good to be home," she stated, overemphasizing the plain word. Sentiri did not know how she felt yet. The change was still all so fresh. But there was something appealing about being back on Csilla in an official capacity, something she couldn't quite pin down. "Yes, I just arrived. From those other regions."

The slicer hesitated a moment. Brask'ari'sabosen's meaning was clear. But Sentiri did not yet know how she felt about leaving the past behind either. After all, there, in those other regions, she had attained power. With power came influence. With influence came unparalleled access to resources. And with resources she could gain anything she wanted. Not just with the First Order, but the intelligence operative had snatched such a position on Terminus too, in the underworld. What did Sentiri have on Csilla?

Home.

Looking around at the gathered people in the procession as well as those parading in the streets, a throng of Chiss the like she had not seen in years, there was certainly an evocation of that feeling of home, of pride. And considering the bloodshed that her people had endured to reach this point, as well as the notion that she had been invited back to once again become a participating member of the Ascendancy, that made her feeling of pride just that much stronger.

"Truth be told," Sentiri carried on, deciding to leave her thoughts about home and elsewhere to herself, "my exile has gone on for so long, and there has been so much conflict and upheaval here, that I imagine there will be many things I won't recognize." The newly instated CEID operative turned to her housemate. "There is much to learn. Though I'll be doing most of my learning this time from the Expansionary Intelligence Division, rather than serving as a member of my house." Her deceased husband's house, rather. But better that than her birth family of House Inrokini, those who sought to betray her all those years ago. Far better. And far better suited to her skills. "How does House Sabosen fair these days?" she inquired of Karisa as they proceeded through the orderly crowd.

The last time Brask'ari'sabosen had been inside the Grand Chamber for a trial was when House Sabosen had been demoted to the status of a minor Ruling House during the Iron Empire debacle. Hopefully today, the once mighty Sabosen family would be restored to its rightful place amongst the other major Rulings Houses true to the Red Flame.

As they walked behind the VIPs side by side, Brask'ari'sabosen listened thoughtfully to what the other Sabosen woman had to say. [member="Sentiri"]'s path this time would be on a bit of a different one from what she had been on before. The Doctor wasn't aware of exactly how high up Sabosen'tir'inrokini had been in the First Order, but surmised she had risen quickly as Ari herself had through the ranks by skill alone.

"I am sure the CEID will benefit greatly from your experience acquired outside the Chiss Ascendancy as well as from within House affairs. I wish you good luck in your new endeavor, Sabosen'tir'inrokini," Ari conveyed with an encouraging smile, then after a moment she added.

"Upon my own return I have found House Sabosen to be strong despite the unfortunate circumstances that befell our family during the earlier tyrannical reigns by the Outsiders. My father and Aristocra Sev'eri'sabosen have been planning diligently and looking forward to this very day for a long time," she said with a knowing nod of her dark head.

"They are hopeful the Sabosen family will once again be a respected governing member of the Council of Families. The Chiss before us has given the Ascendancy a second chance, and for that we owe our allegiance and gratitude."

As Emperor Carnifex replied, Mitth'orn'eruod could only smile and nod. There was an understanding. The overtones were obvious, but it wasn't advertised nor directly referenced, so proving intent would be difficult for anyone nearby whom overheard and wanted to take action against Mitth'orn'eruod. Nonetheless, the traitors would be given transport to the appropriate destinations, of that the Vice Admiral had no doubt, and then it would simply be a matter of installing a more selfless and responsible leadership. He suspected the ruling houses of the past would be considered, though there was a vague hope that House Mitth would be in that number, however power was a coveted commodity within the Chiss and - despite the claims of acting for the people - few would willingly share it with another house.

"I thank you, Emperor Carnifex, on your gracious offer and we accept," Mitth'orn'eruod said simply, before he motioned to the court doors. "Let's proceed."

sAox0ji.png
As the group walked into the court, they were met with a large hall that had arena-like seating arrangements. The hall was effectively filled, aside from some allocated seating for the new arrivals. Out of simple efficiency the seats were located near the entrance doors, to avoid disrupting the proceedings, but they offered an excellent view of the hall nonetheless. At the fore of the hall, the traitorous Aristocra were seated, being addressed by a chosen representative of the parliament body, who spoke for the colony governors. More pressing to the immediate guests, specifically the Sith, would be the sensation of the Force disappearing...

"Do not be alarmed," Mitth'orn'eruod said in a low voice as he leaned in toward the Emperor and his delegates. "Since this hall is usually filled with our ruling body, it has additional security and protection in place. Among practical defenses, there are also housed ysalamiri that cover this area... I apologize for any discomfort it might bring, however the Defense Hierarchy felt keeping them in place was prudent to maintaining security in all circumstances. You are in no danger here, I assure you."

Sitting back, Mitth'orn'eruod turned his attention to the speakers at the front of the hall.

"...as stated, Houses Lorr, Quylen, Ras and Qell stand charged with gross incompetence of leadership and unacceptable management of resources and stature gained through immoral actions," The representative continued, arms crossed, as she stood before the accused. "Evidence provided by the Defense Hierarchy, as well as personal assistants of the accused Aristocra, have left little doubt as to the guilt of these individuals and their houses."

The four criminals remained largely indifferent, chins high, clearly attempting to weather the storm with some shred of dignity intact.

"The parliament governors have convened and the vote has been unanimous," The representative pointed a finger, voice lowering. "The current Aristocra, including their houses and resources, will be seized, political power redistributed and social status removed. From this moment forward, Houses Loor, Quylen, Ras and Qell shall be stripped of ruling house status and their planets and holdings transferred to appointed new leadership for the Chiss people."

There was a quiet murmur through the hall, agreement and support of the decision.

"This is where our legal system is more generous than most, however," Mitth'orn'eruod said to his Sith allies. "Certainly a continued point of contention for myself and others."

"As such, the accused houses will be given basic financial loans, adequate housing to avoid homelessness, and reversion of all military and service ranks to their lowest possible rank within the respective chains of command," The representative turned to the assembly, nodding. "Additionally, Lorr'enew'gromme, Quylen'icuamu'llongoe, Ras'ibas'zura and Qell'emiz'blizoth shall be prohibited from all political dealings and involvement indefinitely, excommunicated from leadership positions of any kind on any level within the Ascendancy from this day onward, legally, professionally and personally. Such is the ruling of this governmental body and its members."

Lorr'enew'gromme growled, eyes glaring. About to speak, the criminal withheld whatever was going to be said, instead, as the other three remained silent but still visibly defiant.

"During the interim until new ruling houses are voted and decided on, the Defense Hierarchy shall maintain emergency control of the Ascendancy, as is our custom," The representative continued, as she looked back to see the Sith delegation. "I would also move to acknowledge the involvement of our allies, without whom we would still be under the control of the foreign Empire. You have our thanks, and should you want, the court would allow Emperor Carnifex an addressing statement should he so wish..."

Certainly an uncommon allowance for the Chiss, but one deemed appropriate due to the importance the Sith Empire had in leading liberation efforts for the Chiss.

The sensation of the Force's diminishment was nothing new to the Sith Emperor, he had encountered such feelings many times over the course of his life. "I have dealt with the Mandalorians plenty of times, Vice Admiral. They utilize similar methods," replied Carnifex, his voice hushed as the proceedings continued before them. He watched in stony silence as the traitorous Aristocra's sentence was proclaimed, the faintest twinge of a frown gathering at the edges of his mouth is the only indication of his personal displeasure in the Chiss' preference of justice.

There would be much more death involved if this were a Sith court.

When the Sith delegation was recognized by the Court representative, the Emperor made a motion to approach the center of the room but stopped a few meters short, primarily to allow every individual in attendance to have a clear view of him no matter their seating. "Proud Chiss, I stand before you not as a conqueror, but as a liberator of freedom and sovereignty. Heretics and traitors attempted to usurp the law and order by which you have lived your lives for thousands of years, thoughtless in their quest for power and greed. While you have rightly passed judgment upon your own that have turned against their people, they are but pawns in a greater vainglorious game. The trues architects of this perversion have escaped our grasp, they have escaped justice."

His dark eyes scanned the room, many similar faces staring back at him as he let the silence punctuate his echoing words. "They called themselves Sith, they wore the trappings of my people and proclaimed themselves inheritors of a heritage that was not theirs to claim. It is a deception, a pale imitation. These charlatans are mere pretenders, children playing pretend without heed of the consequences of their actions. They will be found and made to account for all of the crimes they have committed against your people and mine, and then they will suffer."

Now he looked back towards the Vice Admiral, and then slowly swept his gaze to look at the Court representative. "The true Sith shall stand with the Chiss, not as occupiers or conquerors, but as allies. We shall help you rebuild what has been destroyed so that no foreign power may ever enslave the Chiss ever again, this is my promise to all Chiss who live and breath."

Aedan Miles sat up as his ships came to a halt just short of weapons range from the planet Csilla and the ships gathered around it standing he strode forward as his communications officer opened a channel to what he assumed to be the current flagships for the Chiss and TSE forces present. "This is Pirate King Miles here to speak with Emperor Carnifex. I believe I have a gift he would like to gain as such I request permission to meet with him and deliver it. If it is required I am willing to allow a security team from both forces to board the ship it is on to check it before having myself escorted somewhere to deliver it." He stood there calmly his mismatched eyes gleaming brilliantly as he observed the array of ships before him a grin on his lips. He would have to see about acquiring a few of these ships for himself in the future whether that be through purchasing or earning them or acquiring them as was his way remained to be seen.

With a thought he turned to make his way to the hangar awaiting reply from TSE and Chiss forces boarding a fighter he quickly took off from his flagship and made his way over to the heavy freighter where the Throne he had acquired rested awaiting its delivery to Emperor Carnifex as thanks for the information that had been given to him. After leaving his fighter resting in the small hangar of the larger than normal freighter Aedan made his way to the bridge where he took a seat on the captains chair calmly. Unlike larger military vessels this one lacked the standard command throne instead it had a more basic seat situated to look over everything on the bridge with no other functions.

As Emperor Carnifex made his address to the Chiss governmental body, Mitth'orn'eruod watched. He listened to the words, but he was observing others around. Most Chiss representatives looked proud, sitting straight in their chairs, watching the tall Sith as he spoke. Some were trying to conceal uncertainty, their faces passive but their eyes and irregular blood flow to the faces indicating discomfort. Others still were like statues, unmoving, unphased, not giving anything away in either respect. Those were the dangerous ones, Mitth'orn'eruod knew, the Chiss that could remain completely neutral in appearance, while controlling their biological responses to an equal degree.

When Carnifex completed his speech, ending on a strong claim for alliance and support of independence, the Chiss in the room began a slow, deliberate clapping as a show of respect. Again, most were accepting, some hesitated but joined in to keep up appearances, while others still remained firmly in the middle, simply watching as proceedings played out. Not too dissimilar to Mitth'orn'eruod, who was also clapping, as he returned his attention to the Chiss speaker.

"Your words and support alleviate much of the tension the Chiss feel, following these recent dire events," The representative said, offering a a nod to the Sith Emperor, as she walked back into the middle of the chamber, standing beside the considerably taller humanoid. "And while I speak for the Chiss gathered here today, Emperor Carnifex, I can say that much of our discussions have been centralized around how to recover from another occupation. Your support of Chiss independence is greatly appreciated, as is the proposal of alliance, and as the democratic Chiss parliament body of these people we support this. We will convene, vote and propose your offer - and our agreement, pending specific terms and signings - to the new Ruling Houses."

The representative smiled.

"We do not foresee any issues pertaining to agreement. But, we are certain our diplomats will handle the specifics in the near future. Thank you for joining us, Emperor Carnifex, and your Empire for assisting us in a time of great need."

The Chiss voiced agreement, some nodding, others clapping again. It was quite a display, really, considering most Chiss tended to lean toward strict self-control. Yet, such was the need for some form of safety for a people once again downtrodden by another foreign Empire that emotions and relief were likely high in equal measure. With most of the days parliament requirements more or less done, representatives and delegates began leaving the chamber in numbers, and before long the group that had entered last were left alone once more...

"A positive result, certainly," Mitth'orn'eruod said as he approached Carnifex. He looked up at the humanoid, nodding. "And a generous offer. There may have been some in the crowd that weren't fully convinced, but even they aren't shortsighted enough to deny such an agreement is necessary for the Chiss to regain their standing in these regions. Another occupation could potentially cripple us, considering the financial burden such leaves on us."

The Vice Admiral motioned toward the doorways they had entered before. It seemed time to leave the parliament court chamber.

"Was there any pressing concerns or questions you or your people might have, Emperor Carnifex? I will also have one of my officers relay the command to have the traitorous ex-Aristocra brought to your vessel of choosing for transport. In the meantime, you and yours are welcome to enjoy what Csilla may have to offer, though I admit it may seem limited due to the state of the capital presently."

sAox0ji.png
Meanwhile...

In orbit above Csilla, the arrival of another force garnered the immediate attention of the CEDF. A commanding officer on the bridge relayed orders to prepare for possible hostilities, before accepting the communication from the new arrivals...

"This is Commodore Drast, you have entered Chiss Space without permission, you are requested to power down weapons on all vessels under your command," Drast said, eyeing the space in the distance where the unknown ships were meant to be located, according to sensors. "We have received your request to speak with the Sith Emperor Carnifex, and will relay to the appropriate officers. Hold, please."

The communications crew began working at their boards, quickly cycling through the processes to do just that. Within moments, the communication was sent down through to the Vice Admiral...

sAox0ji.png
Mitth'orn'eruod's comlink beeped, to which he excused himself for a moment to answer. Some quiet words passed, before the Vice Admiral turned to Carnifex and spoke.

"It seems there is someone requesting to speak with you, Emperor Carnifex," Mitth'orn'eruod offered the comlink. "An individual by the name of Pirate King Miles, offering a gift and asking for somewhere to deliver it?"

An interesting turn of events, certainly. Mitth'orn'eruod wondered at the wisdom of a pirate arriving in a system that had only just ceased war within its borders. Still, from all indications there seemed little in the way of hostilities, and said pirate had remained at the edge of engagement, opening communication to introduce himself. Mitth'orn'eruod was interested to see how things would progress...
