Devlin struggled and was genuinely surprised as he looked down at her curious about her strength. He wasn’t that light but maybe she was that strong. As she tossed him to the ground he laid there for a moment his helmet bouncing off of the floor and rocking him a little.
"Kill him and I'll pay you both ten thousand credits."
“Well that’s rude. I mean I figured I was worth only about that much but hearing it out loud kind of hurts,” he said with a soft hiccup as he looked up at her having not turned around yet to face the would-be assailants. He knew well enough where they were just through his connection with the force. He figured she was probably testing him and in his current state they were more of a threat than usual. She was the real threat and wondered what she would do if he just trivialized her efforts of bringing him here. Devlin was not against killing in fact there had been numerous situations during the academy where he emotionlessly had decided killing was required for a given situation which had surprised his classmates.
Even so he had never been put into a situation where he needed to kill people or wanted to. His issue had always been control over the strength of his powers and the fact he lacked most emotions one would need to fully embrace the dark side. His raw power with the force however was much higher than one could simply measure. His instructors and others had attempted to determine his maximum potential but were unable to reach it in the academy environment. Mostly his brain was his biggest limiter but now with his inhibitions lowered his ability or want/need to control his strength had lowered with it. He turned around and looked at the two assailants. He had seen them before in passing, his home wasn’t too far from here after all.
“Hey you two. Get lost. She is trying to set you up,” he said still sitting there his head rubbing the back of his helmet and trying to appear unassuming. He sighed as they picked up their weapons and such had greedily decided their own fate. He looked back at Alina who was now relaxing against the wall. He looked at the credits wishing he had that kind of money to just throw away. As one aimed their blaster and the other approached with the knife the following events would happen in a matter of seconds.
The blaster fired and was effortlessly deflected off Devlin who had simply raised his hand. The bolt hitting the knife wilder in the head turning it into a smoking hole of blood and brain matter. The man with the blaster was lifted into the air, his screams echoing out for a fraction of a seconds before his body imploded into a small ball of flesh and bone as blood poured onto the alley coating the ground in gore.
He didn’t bother standing up as he crawled forward a bit and grabbed the credits.
“Miiiine,” he said nonchalantly as he put the physical currency in his bag apparently not at all phased by the fact he had just brutally murdered two individuals.
