They also don't fight for the will of the chancellor since the only place he asked the jedi to go to was Nar Shadda when jedi diplomats were taken hostage. The mission statement when Selena took over was stopping the darkside and the sith empire, that is what she has done to motivate a faction that 2 months ago was struggling to motivate itself to do anything. Jedi are peacekeepers and in an rp setting that means conflict, means fighting. Since no one can control or order the others on the board to rp how we want jedi to act the entire thing falls into suspension of disbelief. If you want to talk then go and talk with Selena Halcyon or the council about your concerns

I still think your missing the point. The Jedi have literally become the warhounds of the Republic, and save for a few dedicated RPers out there, most current Jedi aren't very Jedi like at all. You are saying that the solution to stirring RP within the faction was to genocide the Sith and destroy their faction? I disagree with that. There are plenty of faction events that could have been initiated in place of the all out war.

The hard truth is, without the Jedi there is no republic. If even half of the Jedi left the Republic to pursue true Jedi paths the Republic would more than likely not be able to stay afloat, or it would claim the Jedi that left are enemies of the Republic and put on the purge list.

Now back to what I said previously. I know the Sith had to be taken out, but after the smoke is cleared and the threat is gone I would like to see the Jedi actually become Jedi again. A true Jedi shouldnt be so eager to wage war, even against darkside users.

And you would be wrong, two months ago the Republic was doing nothing and inactive requiring staff intervention to be brought back so it did not go away. Because no one wanted to do faction events or be involved in a faction that betrayed all its ideal for a false peace. This resulted because the jedi were going to break off into a minor faction and leave the Republic.

So the solution is destroying the Sith faction? Think of what that does to them, and anyway the Jedi should leave the Republic we have Ossus. Move the council there and rethink the Order's values, and more importantly stop being a faction of warmongering Grey Jedi because hardly any Jedi that I have seen RP here has embraced the Jedi teachings.and that includes myself. Dallea is one that I could say is an actual Jedi, and im sure there are others, but can you truly say the way the Order is conducting itself is fitting of Jedi? That is all im trying to convey.

That being said yes we have Ossus now by doing exactly what your speaking against. The goal of the faction was get active by having battles against the sith and we have been doing just that. No one expected the sith empire to be unable to truly come back at the Republic. In truth this was supposed to be stretched out for months and take far longer but OOC issues have caused nearly the entire faction to disappear after a small handful of invasions. The jedi are going to continue to do what they do and that is protect the peace while staying in the republic. This means participating in dominions, invasions and events in the faction. We can sit around and meditate all day but the majority of threads if they are not training are handling problems and conflicts. As we are the new jedi order not the old Republic jedi, Between the purge back then, the dark ages and the data wipe that information would be hard to find. We only have what Luke taught with his students who were more grey jedi in their own right.

Actually, I agree with Tyr (Alachei speaking), abandoning originality for activity just seems like an injustice to what the Jedi truly stand for. Sadly, I know it's a forum and either do or die, so to speak.

Thank you for understanding. Some people will abandon the ethics that their characters are supposed to hold dear for OOC reasons. It sounds to me like the Republic got lazy and the Jedi were forced to pick up the slack and because of it are no longer Jedi. We must not fret however, for as we speak a true Jedi order is building in the shadows and they will save us from the pretenders and the hitlist of the Republic! Long live the true Jedi!!!

Please keep all talk not about the Pentastar Alignment itself out of this thread. This is my second warning. A third will result in my going to a staffer and getting posts removed. Considering potential fallout from that, I'd rather not see staff brought into this.

Keep the debating out of this thread, please. This is a thread solely for the purpose of advertising the faction in question for the masses.

If you want to debate it, make a discussion thread in the Role-Play Discussion board or the General Discussion board. Failing that, seeing how it is primarily a Republic/Jedi discussion, have it be a faction thread. Just take it somewhere else, folks.
