Hey all! Alexis here. Got some questions before I start rolling out my character. First off is the timeline. On the welcome thread there are like 5+ timelines. Am I only supposed to focus on the top-most one? Because the other ones all have things going on in the same year. If those are no longer relevant, yall should move them to a different thread in my opinion. Too confusing for us noobz.

Second, how does coding work? Are there any guidelines posted? Maybe a "tips and how-to" section? I'm well versed in BBS code, just not sure if your format is working with that function or not. Maybe also, could someone point me in the direction of a really well "decorated" profile? That would be super helpful to see what everyone is doing.

And on that same not, can someone give me a quick rundown of the Sith Empire and how that's all working at the moment. My first character will be an Acolyte and I'd like to know what planets are mainly under their control, how the Sith work as a group, etc etc. Maybe direct me to the map page?

The timeline is updated every so often. Indeed, the one that is on the top is the most recent one.

Coding works two ways; there's a wysiwyg toolbar, and there's a diet version of bbcodes. The basic stuff of i, b, u, center, float, all work, but when you want more complicated things like tables and the such, things can get tricky. If there is something specific that you want to do but are unsure how, just ask, there are a lot of people here who'll be glad to answer and help

For the Sith Empire, let me tag [member="Darth Carnifex"], [member="Darth Prazutis"], and [member="Sith Muse"] (not sure who's the most available). These are the faction owner and two staffers of the Sith Empire faction, but others might also come and help you out with those specific questions.

Well in my BBS codes on other sites I could use "float_left", "abox/beebox/cbox", "accordian" ( <-- really freaking cool ), as well as "borders" and "bcolors." They make some awesome looks to a profile. If I could figure out how to attach a screenshot I'd show you.

[member="Alexis Solis"] I also wouldn't worry about getting a pretty profile off the bat. I started with a super basic one and then improved it bit by bit as time progressed. The biographies aren't regulated so you can edit them as frequently as you want to into whatever shape you want to, no pressure

As for the timeline - frankly, since you're new and you're starting as an acolyte, I would use the opportunity to learn everything from scratch IC. Otherwise, yes, those are the most recent events :) You can also ask people in the faction you join, or on the Chaos Discord server (link [URL="https://discord.gg/aXWFwR5"]here[/URL]) for information that would be directly relevant to you character, at least enough to get you started.

Yeah my character won't be too familiar with the comings and goings of things. She just needs to know main events. I've already got most of her story written bcs she's recycled from another site.

That's a very pretty biography! Sadly, the only way I know of to make it look like that here is to construct it all on photoshop or photopea (or any other graphic soft/browserware) and then upload it. The closest thing I got is what I did in this and this posts, messing around with floats. I'm not sure the borders code would work here, but I might give it a try just to see next time I do the tweaking for me stuff.

People will often volunteer to make you signatures and other graphic work in factions you join, but you can also see what member son the site offer, and request aid right here. The signatures on this account were made by others as well. I'm good with other kinds of graphics but sigs are my weak spot

The Sith Brotherhood (Also just known as the Sith Order) is the Sith Empire's religious institution, if that's what you mean.

We also have a quasi-religious organization called the Sith-Imperial Mission, who are charged with proliferating Sith-Imperialist ideology (Imperial ideals and Sith ideals combined) to the wider masses of the Empire.

[member="Darth Carnifex"] I had made a character/faction once that was an actual church. They worshipped the Dark side more than the actual Empire or government. I called them The Sacellum of Ilum because they were based on Ilum at the time. But I'll be focusing my girl on Ziost. So Sacellum of Ziost, perhaps. They also believe in truly worshiping the Dark side in the sense of Zealotry rather than aggression and hatred.
