Logan pushed his way through the now empty hallways littered with several bodies and droid parts, his disruptor rifle held firmly in his arms. He had missed the first conflict unfortunately, but there would be more for him he hoped. If not, he would have to make some. These Black Suns would all die before the day was up. The small jet pack strapped firmly to his back helped him leap forward through the hall. He got to the first door way and held onto the top of the frame to stop himself from going flying into the next room unprepared. He lowered himself to the floor and leaned forward into the room with just his shoulders and head. He saw something slowly coming toward him out of the corner of his eyes, as if it was creeping up on him to surprise him. Not today.. No, not today he thought to himself as he brought his rifle up to his shoulder to shoot the life form slowly heading toward him. He turned suddenly and focused his vision of the figure. He put a bit of pressure onto the trigger, getting ready to pull it and end this things life when he stopped suddenly. It was already dead. The lifeless body of a Red Raven underling floated in front of him, a small stream of blood trickling out of his mouth behind the slightly tinted helmet of the EVA suit, giving the blood a copper hue. It was a shame so many lives had to be lost, but they knew what they were signing up for when they joined the Ravens and especially when they signed up to be part of the spear head during the invasion. A spear can be thrust through armor and a mans flesh, but it will never be as whole as when it was thrust in. Spears can break, whether all at once or little by little. There will always be causalities, regardless of the circumstances.
He pushed the body out of the way, the limp arms jiggling slightly as it slowly floated to the back of the room. He wasn't ashamed he had reacted so cautiously, because in this line of work, caution meant life. He shook his head, jarring himself back to reality. He had a job and he needed to do it. Lysle and his Ravens could handle themselves, but it felt wrong not being there with them. He was one of them and he would be damned if he died alone on this ship. If he was going to die, it would be alongside his brothers and sisters. And they wouldn't go down easily. He exhaled sharply, almost growling to himself in order to psych himself up. He floated toward the next door, pushing himself through with a soft grunt. It was not hard to figure out where his people had gone. He just had to follow the path of carnage and destruction. The dead bodies and droids-rendered-useless, the blaster holes in the walls, the scorch marks on the floors and walls and the crates in the hull of the ship left a clear path. A door to his right hissed and three droids can walking out, patrolling the halls and looking for stragglers, like himself. He rushed behind a pillar of the ship, waiting to see where the droids went.
The droids started to beep softly, as the headed toward Logan, following the path of carnage in the wrong direction. Logan closed his eyes and sighed to himself. This was not a situation he wanted to be in, but unfortunately there was little he could do about it. He figured it would be better to take them by surprise, or at least as surprised as a droid could be. He looked to the other side of the hall, finding a similar indent in the wall that he could take cover behind, if he made it that far. He counted down to himself 3...2...1... Shoot. He threw himself out from behind his pillar, putting a well aimed shot into one of the droids as the crossed the floor. It disintegrated instantly, destroyed on a molecular level. The 2 remaining droids reacted far quicker than he expected, turning to fire upon him almost instantly. Their first few shots missed him slightly, burning small holes into the floor inches away from him. He wasn't going to make it, he thought to himself. He called upon the force, jumping and launching himself forward to the pillar. He slammed into the wall, knocking the air out of him again. He bowed his head slightly, gasping as he struggled to breath. As if slamming into the wall wasn't bad enough, but the use of the force made him grow tired fast. He could feel it draining his body already. And there was still two more droids left to deal with. He fired a few shots blindly from behind the pillar, all of them missing the droids. He peeked out from behind the pillar and fired two shots off in rapid succession, the first shot hiring on of the droids square in the chest area. He too disintegrated instantly, leaving 1 droid between Logan and his fellow Red Ravens. He winced as lasers missed him by centimeters, leaving 2 small ash marks on the top of his helmet. He waited for a minute as the lasers continued to fire, striking the pillar and floor around him. He heard a slight click and knew that it was his chance. He pushed off from the wall, floating into the middle of the hallway. He pushed off wrong, sniping slightly and turning sideways. He brought the rifle up to his shoulder in the all to familiar motion, closing his left eye to aim better. He breathed absent minded from the countless hours of practice and practical use. He saw the droids blaster spring forward, another clip of lethal blaster rounds now in place. He shot immediately, not wiling to wait any longer. The disruptor round flew from his rifle towards the droid, grazing its arm. It was a crazy shot and Logan knew even he was lucky to hit it. He activated the small jet pack on his back, trying to stabilize his movements. He wobbled around in the 0-gravity area before he was able to get control of his own body movements. He used his jet pack to push himself to the floor and walked over to where the droids had been, now disintegrated. He could now make his way to Lysle and the rest of the Red Ravens.
