Decades ago an older guard of the Mandalorians battled the Jedi and their Republic here on the homeland of the Wookiees. They were victorious against the Republic and established mutual pact with the Wookiees, a foundation of cooperation between the two cultures. Since then, no major conflicts erupted between the two tribes.

But change was a dynamic constant in life dictated by time, and not all remained the same.

The olive branch between the Mandalorians and the Wookiees would burn down after this daring onslaught.

qKprTT1.png

His father came years ago as a hero to Kashyyyk, a time when the old Republic existed in the Galaxy and the Mandalorians at the height of their power.

Now Adenn would come as a crusader, inflicting upon the proud Wookiees on this unprecedented assault he orchestrated. Undoing what his predecessors established years ago before his time. The old gods called for their children to return to their roots, casting a fire to rewake the Mandalorian spirit in their warriors.

The marauders descended Kashyyyk from their Basilisk War Droids and dropships, targeting local villages from quick reconnaissance. The majority of Mandalorians hailed from his own clan, but there were others came from the ranks of the Enclave. Warriors who also shared his views, tired of being mere mercenaries and wanting to return to the old ways of their people. Through battle and bloodshed were their people truly united, not as petty lawmen who acted in best interests for foreigners and not for themselves.

While they represented their own sect, this onslaught was not sanctioned by the Enclave. They chose voluntarily to come and battle.

Apart from their own strike force, a clan of Trandoshans joined the Mandalorians. A mutual agreement Adenn brokered as the two groups benefitted from one another.

<“Three minutes!”> he announced to his kin from atop of his war droid, Munin or otherwise. Three minutes until they struck at the Wookiees. As leader he took point, always headfirst to take the glory of battle, glaring through his visor as his heart raced through the sheer speed of descent he felt. Those three minutes were upon expiration and the Munin scion launched a scatter of missiles upon the Wookiee village, the violent roar of his Bes’uliik heralded the Mandalorians’ arrival.

"We hunt on this day, not just for glory brothers and sisters! But for the Scorekeeper!" A deep, reptilian hiss filled the air of the hanger as a collective of Trandoshans prepared their iron and steel for the ritual of their people. An tradition that had been with them for as long as any of them could remember. To bleed a wookie and offer their very flesh to their goddess was the highest delight a Trandoshan could attain. The idea had been with them so long many of them sought such thrills out of purified instinct and primitive desire.

Karking finally. People the Domina could relate to! A kind after her own heart unlike many other Mandalorians who preformed their actions out of some sense of duty, duty to family or duty to their comrades. Others loyal to an idea, a creed that made any Mandalorian worth their steel one with the one true Way. But then there were Mandalorians who pledged their souls to the almighty credit, selling their GOD given talents and skills to the highest bidder.

Manda...Domina spat on the floor at the thought of such Mandalorians. Calling them kin felt like an insult to her blood and soul.

"We hunt! We kill! And we feast! Why?!" Another Trandoshan spat, many of them rattling their weapons through the air in some primitive bonding ritual.

"BECAUSE WE ARE THE CHOSEN FEW!" Domina shouted over the rest of them, causing a slight pause in their moment of preperation. Getting their minds in the right space for a truly worthy hunt. Slit reptilian eyes focused on the large Xeno as she sauntered through their group. Each wave of her tail causing those around her to separate and form a clear path through the center as it waved about dangerously. "What else were we born for? Made for? Have we not teeth brothers and sisters? Have we not claws!?" She mused in a feral delight that boiled her blood in her very veins.

"And who are YOU? You to the hunt? The scorekeeper? You to us?" One trandoshan spoke out, unfamiliar with the alien stranger who had placed herself among them.

"Dima is familiar with your scorekeeper, this one participated in many hunts little brother." She cooed, flicking her claws as if examining them, shifting her multi-eyed gaze towards the Trandoshan among them who seemed to be the ring leader. "And you know what?" She continued, reaching up and unlatching the seal to her helm with an audible HISSSSSSSSSSS of air escaping the lock. Peeling the metal helm away and revealing her alien face with teeth lining her jaws as the Trandoshan bared their fangs at the Xeno in alarm. "Dima thinks they lost KARKIN COUNT!" She barked dominantly, her jaws splitting wider and revealing ROWS of azurite, crystal teeth along each segmented jaw. "Domina Prime is the mightiest huntress you've ever karking seen! Bigger teeth bigger KARKING bite little brother!" She sneered with a chuckle of whimsical malice and eager hunger. "And if you wanna keep up with Domina you've got to keep ALL. EYES. OPEN!" She chittered, snapping her jaws at the Trandoshans muzzle and forcing him to recoil back slightly from the abrupt and violently feral display of primal dominance as all five of her alien eyes dilated in their focus.

"We are chosen by Manda for WE understand the ONE true way! You are hunter, or KARKING prey, and Dima thinks she sees a bunch of mice? Are you MICE?" She called out, causing a great many of the others to raise their weapons in rebellion at the mockery.

"WE ARE HUNTERS! TRIED AND TRUE!" One sang, evoking a chorus of likeminded beast to hiss and snarl into the air as well.

Oh yes, now this is what Domina needed. Sweet, sweet music of a primal design.

"Yes, yes! We don't hunt for fun, we don't hunt for money! We hunt because it's ALL we know how to do! ALL WE HAVE EVER DONE! IT IS IN OUR KARKING NATURE!" She snapped, lifting her axe into the air. "We are NATURE...we...are PERFECT!" She sang, encouraging them with beautiful motivation as they sang with the Xeno, a creature not of their species, but clearly of their blood.

What a glorious day to be primal~

What a fine day to be beautiful!

Yolaghun watched Domina Prime Domina Prime and the Trandoshians do... whatever it was they were doing. He honestly wasn't sure. He had no idea who this "Scorekeeper" was, but he could tell Dima was fired up and was using a lot of colorful language of which he did not know the meaning. He still wasn't entirely familiar with the language of these humanoid creatures, but he was picking it up pretty swiftly. That was a good thing. the Mandalorians, as they called themselves, had taken him along back to their planet called Kestri. They called him a "foundling," even though he felt like he was the one who found him. But he supposed it was all just a matter of perspective. He was supposed to eventually meet with someone named Jos Krayt Jos Krayt , who apparently served some woman named Mando Karla.

But for now, he was here with the one called Dima. She had asked him to join her on some kind of hunt. It had sounded fun, and she had seemed like someone who had some authority, though Yolaghun was starting to think maybe that wasn't the case at all. Watching her... feral behavior was causing him to think both she and these Trandoshians were only semi-sentient. He didn't know the actual word for that in any of their languages, but he wouldn't actually say that to her anyway. She seemed decent enough, and he didn't want to be rude to a friend. Besides, the whole spectacle was rather amusing to watch. The excitement was a bit contagious. He still wasn't quite sure what was going on or what they were here to hunt, but he was enjoying the experience, nonetheless.

He strode up to Dima. The Trandoshians jumped back at the sight of him. Well, he was bigger than even the largest of them. And he had wings. Why did no one else have wings? At least Dima had a tail, as one should. And come to think of it, why had none of them noticed he was there? Were they really that single-minded or just that excited about their hunt? Yolaghun looked at Dima. "So... What are we hunting again?"

DIAMOND EYES

They've been idle long enough.

Clan Beroya had never been as idle as the rest of the Enclave, but they still didn't scour the Galaxy. They still didn't embrace what they could actually be. Shel, their previous Alor and Buir, had started the movement, had planted the seed of branching out into the Galaxy. It was now up to the next generation to see it through. To have the names of Beroya and Awaud be renowned once more in the Galaxy.

To have the Mando'ade feared again in the Galaxy.

That's what had Jan and a Company of her Clan-members deploying in their Basilisks from the Narglatch's vast hangar, meeting up with the Munins and other Enclave Mando'ade as all hovered over the lush planet of Kashyyyk. She wasn't particularly thrilled about the Trandoshans accompanying them, but if there was anything the lizards were good at, it was hunting.

<“Three minutes!”>
Jan rolled her eyes behind her helmet as she sat in Kad's cockpit. She appreciated Clan Munin's drive that mirrored her own, but she'd be damned if she let Adenn order her and her Clan around.
<You brought your big boy beskar'gam, Munin?> Jan quipped at Adenn over the shared comms before falling silent for the job ahead.

<What're we doing, Jan?> came Nam's voice over their private Clan comms.
<Take anything of use and spare no one that stands against us.> she told them. <And don't die.> Down there was the planet of another warrior culture. A very powerful culture. Almost level with the Mando'ade.

They're going to one hell of a battle.

As one minute was left, Kad's ions started humming in anticipation.

Soon, death would fall from the sky onto those thinking they are safe.

Kaiyra wasn't exactly thrilled with Adenn Munin Adenn Munin allying with the Trandoshans for this raid on the Wookiee planet or even choosing that world in the first place. Though with the clan's history during the crusades of the past, it did make some sense, and the Trandoshans were indeed excellent hunters and too didn't have any love for the walking carpets of the trees.

In fact, the reptilians wanted retribution for deeds done in the past against them by those on Kashyyyk. So this alliance worked well for Clan Munin as the Concord Dawn-based Mandalorians would be the spearhead of this mission bringing along some of their more in-like kin folk from the Enclave to share in the spoils of the first of their crusade across the galaxy.

The red and black armored Mando was mounted atop her mother's beloved basilisk. The last time Briika Munin Briika Munin had ridden Buruk was at the Battle of Tython. The war droid had saved her life many a time before and she wanted Kaiyra to be in good hands while the next generation of Munins took up the mantle and lead the way forward to glory for the clan.

Three... two... one...

Kaiyra steeled herself, then the ship's hangar bay door opened. She raised her gloved fist and shouted jubilantly, <"OYA!">.

A positive and triumphant chorus of "OYA!" meaning relatively "let's hunt" in Galactic Basic rang out in the hangar bay of the corvette just before the crusading Mandos marshaled their Basilisk war droids and launched to bring their reckoning upon the Wookiees and any that stood in their way.

The menacing horde of Iron Beasts began swarming down from the heavens above. Kaiyra stayed on Adenn's wing as they descended, working in tandem with her brother to bring as much carnage as they could from the skies.

It was thrilling, to say the least, but the real thrill ride to glory was just beginning for the young Munin no doubt...

Raiding. Some considered it a principle of the Mandalorian past. Many in the Enclave could argue that its own industry more than well enough provided for Mandalorian needs. But it was more than just utilitarian. Raiding was about conveying a message. Instilling fear. And though it had been a long time, Romul Saxon knew his clan needed to help remind the galaxy that they should more than just respect the Mandalorians.

He needed them to remember to be afraid.

In the twilight dusk of Kashyyk, a giant shadow loomed. It was a fearsome Ha'rangir-class Star Destroyer, the Bes'kahvatr -- the Iron Jaw in Galactic Basic -- one of the few massive warships proudly belonging to Clan Saxon. The Mandalorian warship cast a fearsome silhouette over the wroshyr trees, blotting the dying-out sun. Before it was the capital city of Rwookrrorro, the heart of Wookiee civilization. It would burn.

"Alor, the Wookiees are massing a defense. We expect high levels of resistance," a lieutenant at a computer station reported.

Romul nodded with satisfaction. It was favorable that they would defend their homes; bloodshed would honor both sides. It stemmed from a principle of strength, the ability to defend ones right to exist. If they could not, then that right became forfeit. The Mandalorians were simply those who would test that strength. It wasn't malice, it wasn't cruelty that drove them here. It was nature. "May songs be sung of today," he declared as he donned his helmet. "We shall meet them in battle. Rally the clan."

It was time to prove their strength.

Everything seemed like some kind of wicked haze of blindness as the air around the Xeno radiated with a heat and burned up her insides. It was not very often Domina got to exercise her killing potential, to flex her claws and stain her teeth with the blood of worthy prey was causing an incredibly dizzying excitement to come over her. Practically high from all the primitive, primal chanting and roaring as the Trandoshans cheered, sneered and snarled like a collective of feral beast.

Sometimes, it just felt good to be understood by those who saw you.

Domina was clearly elated and lost in her own little world as she held her axe in her lower arms while her upper arms smoothed her mane of hair back neatly, inhaling deeply through her nostrils and exhaling as if her smelled dinner fresh and ready for consumption. "Mmmnf, now that is just...right." She sang, lifting a hand and gesturing towards Yolaghun Yolaghun as he approached the group of wildlings. "You hear that Yol?" She chittered warmly, stepping back towards the massive dragon and practically fawning in delight as she leaned her entire body against him as if he were some kind of massive post. "Beautiful beautiful music yes?" She mused before looking up at Yol, then the Trandoshans, then back up at Yol before suddenly being pulled from the whole distracting scene.

"So...What are we hunting again?" He asked plainly, causing Dima to blink several times at him as if processing what he ha actually just asked her.

"O-oh wait!" He papped the side of her own head with her palm. "Duh Dima!" She snapped at herself, suddenly reaching out with her four arms and grabbing Yol's clawed hand to pull him along towards their hunting party as the four armed Xeno quickly lifted her hand and waved as if to grab the lizards attention. "Everyone, everyone!" She rang, some of the Trandoshans catching a glimpse of the massive Dragonborn lifeform and nearly jumping out of their leathery skin, others just staring up at the beast in awe as Dima, with all four of her arms gestured rather dramatically towards the Dragon. "Dima wants you to meet her newest cousin, YOL!" She sang his name, although...she could not actually remember his full name.

It was fine.

"He is big, he has claws, and has even BIGGER teeth than Dima~" She cooed, reaching up casually towards Yol's muzzle with her claws and attempting to pull it downward as if to attempt to make Yol level with her own head. "Here, come, show them your teeth~" Dima chittered at Yol, expanding her own segmented jaws and splitting them wide open to reveal her own crystallized, azure teeth lining her many jaws. Wanting to brandish their finest traits to her fellow primitive lifeforms. Rather Yol showed them or not, the message was clearly received. Yol was Dimas friend and hunting partner for this raid, and they both had big, big chompers.

Once that business was done, and Dima had introduced the foundling to the group the Domina lifted her axe and traced her claws along its bladed edge while sauntering confidently over to a large crate she had brought along with her.

"As for the prey cousin~" She began, kicking the crate open and revealing that all she had in it was...a bunch of short sword, really, really BIG swords, knives of varying shapes and curvatures as she reached insides and snatched out a weird looking blade that was bent and curved near its center like a boomerang. "They are ehhhh, how to say this nicely~" She thought to herself, tapping her clawed fingers along the big knifes edge.

"A bunch of stinky apes that would make a better rug!" One trandoshan spat out from the audience, causing Dima to snap a finger and point at him as if he had a point.

"Ah, yes, that. Big, big creatures. Very hairy, beat their chest a lot~" She explained playfully, sticking her big curves knife into it's sheath on her back while pulling out another smaller, butchering knife. "But fear not cousin, for we are bigger, and unlike our prey. We possess a special...killing instinct. But they do uhhh, hmm. Well, Dima has heard they can rip lifeforms 'limb from limb'" She told Yol, twisting the knife in her hand before sliding it into another hidden space on her armor. "But it does not matter! Dima is going to hurt them, and then take whatever Dima wants...and break whatever Dima doesn't~" She proclaimed rather...simply.

She was a simple woman with even simpler needs.

"Try not to lose focus dear cousin. Just keep your pretty wings attached, don't get shot, and claim many kills! Do this? And all other things will follow this one thinks. Oh, maybe we should have a CONTEST yes? Yol & Dima, who can claim the most pelts!" She cackled maniacally as another Trandoshan approached Dima, reaching out with what was a...mechanical arm?

Likely lost in battle. Or then again...perhaps this Trandoshan had a bigger bone to pick with the Wookies than even the others.

"DO-MI-NA~" They hissed each individual piece of Dimas title. "We assemble now, we rally, we drop~" They informed simply, Dimas eyes however quickly becoming glued to the individuals arm as all four of hers SNATCHED him by the bicep and practically DRAGGED the poor Trandoshan two feet into the air as Domina Prime delighted in its design.

"Whoa! COOL ARM!" Dima shrieked, the prosthetic arm really just a cobbled collection of steel and wires as the Trandoshan whined and struggled in Dimas deadly grip. "Yol, hey Yol! You think it bleed a lot? Did it hurt?" Dima asked, her eyes dilating to fine pins as her tail rattled almost violently in amusement as she pulled him closer. "They let you keep the old one?" She mused at him before the alarming ringing of the ships systems alerted everyone that it was time to go, causing Dima to immediately lose focus and drop the Trandoshan as he quickly took the opportunity to distance himself from Domina and slink back into his group.

"Oh fun, we're going already?" Dima gasped, looking at Yol now and bouncing on the balls of her taloned feet and reaching out to grab his hand again. "COME ON COME ON WE'LL MISS IT COUSIN! YOU HAVE WINGS YOU HAVE TO BE DIMAS WINGMAN!" She barked in excitedly, clearly not fully understanding what the phrase 'wingman' really meant, but in the context of Yol it seemed to make perfect sense as she dragged him towards the hanger doors.

Droz casually leaned forward in his seat on the dropship as it approached, sharpening one of his machetes against his thigh as they were arriving at their destination. It had been some time since Droz had raided, but that was to be expected when one was captured and imprisoned in carbonite for decades for the crimes they had committed, locked away in a deep, dark vault with the hope that they would never be found and released to see the light of day again. To raid and pillage some insignificant village was one thing, but to attack the Wookies on their home turf? That was just the challenge and thrill Droz sought to get himself back into things.
Destiny was not finished with Droz. The Butcher of Umbara, has risen once more. It was simply fate that brought Droz's brethren to find and release him into an unfamiliar Galaxy to wreak havoc and mayhem once more. It was his obligation to see that stagnation never took root in the Mandalorians again. To be the hunter or to be the prey, that has always been the way and Droz would be damned if he or his kin were ever seen to be prey.
Droz raised his machete up as he inspected the sharpened blade before sliding it behind his back into its sheathe as he raised his forearm up, doing one final inspection of his equipment. All systems were green as the interior of the dropship rattled upon approach. Droz cursed to himself as he steadied himself, wanting to get off the flying deathtrap as soon as he could. The intercom squawked as the pilot informed them of their arrival, accompanied by the young voice of Adenn Munin Adenn Munin letting them know that they were three minutes out. Droz stood up and walked over to the hatch release button as he shouted in their native tongue to the Mandalorians present,
<< " This is our time! Let your names be heard and be feared more than a walking pelt's ability to rip arms off! Burn it all! Kill them all! " >>

His small speech was met with shouts of approval as he raised his fist before promptly slamming it into the hatch release button. The rush of salty air filled the transport as Mandalorians hopped out into the air of Kashyyyk, not as allies but as raiders. Droz himself soon stepped off and found himself hurtling through the air like a missile with his hands pressed against his sides, accelerating himself to the surface as his jetpack activated. His rangefinder would lower as he locked on to a cluster of Wookies starting to make a run for it once they realized they were being attacked before his rocketpack let loose a missile.
Sand would turn to glass as the rocket made contact, sending Wookies and their kin scattering as Droz flipped his body and allowed his jetpack and boots to slow his descent as he unholstered his pistols and raised them up, ready to take on the first Wookie that decided that it would choose death on this day.

Kachriho, Wawaatt Archipelago

Minutes before the attack…

Minerva threw her head back laughing as a pair of Wookiee children playfully wrestled with one another. She sat legs crossed among a circle of more than a dozen Wookies young and old. They were enjoying a meal together on a platform on one of the Worshyr trees.

Smiling, the mostly armored warrior drank Xachibik broth from her bowl. Letting out a satisfied sigh she murmured with closed eyes.

"I miss this."

Then she felt a nudge to her left shoulder. Turning she saw the grinning face of a black and brownish furred Wookiee.

[Enjoying yourself Minerva?] He jokingly asked in Shyriiwook, causing the human to roll her eyes.

"Yes Rhust, I certainly am. This is more relaxing than those gundark hunts on Alaris Prime that you took me and father to.”

The old hunter chuckled, slapping a knee with his right hand, exclaiming.

[Don't deny it you enjoy those hunts. You have the gundark’s temper on occasion.]

Shrugging both shoulders Minerva admitted.

"True on both counts, I treasure all those times. Your clan has always been good to us. If it had not been for you, Rhust my father would've died long before he adopted me. His debt to your people is mine as well."

With a sympathetic expression Rhust placed one of his mighty hands upon her shoulders.

[Jorel and you have made up for it and more. We only want your continued friendship.]

Humbled, she nodded while whispering.

"I wish…he was still here with us."

[We can’t alter the past Minerva. Take comfort in the memories you shared with him. He would want you to keep living until your end comes as well.]

Suppressing a sigh the former founding nodded again, knowing Rhust was right. Before they could say anything further a massive horn blew loudly throughout the settlement. Immediately recognizing the signal they stood up in alarm as the horn kept blowing. Kashyyyk was under attack!

Looking up to the sky Minerva put on her helmet, utilizing its rangefinder. Soon enough she detected several transports, some were Transdosen by design but the rest…

"Nooo.” Minerva gasped being rendered speechless. Within the helm her eyes were widened and her jaw dropped. Still in disbelief she turned on the old Enclave frequency despite cutting ties from them. Sure enough she heard attack orders and battle boasts about being proclaimed in Mando'a.

The Enclave has come but why? Wookiees hadn't done any great wrong to provoke retaliation from them.

The more she thought the more alarmed Minerva became. This is not retaliation, this is…a glory hunt. They would sack Kashyyyk as a statement to the galaxy no matter how honorable its people are! Sickened at the conclusion she stood there motionless as the adult Wookiee roared in outrage and the young ones squeal in fear. Suddenly yanked by the shoulder Minerva was then slammed to the tree.

Wincing she then glanced up as a black furred warrior who growled accusingly before gripping her throat in one hand.

[You're with them! Deceiver! Tell us what you know or I'll spill your blood!]

Most of the Wookiees stood back, some sharing their warrior's fury but others were more uncertain. Losing breath rapidly Minerva notchless didn't resist as she gagged for air. Despite his own confusion and rage Rhust intervened.

[Let her go Wrhoshk. We have no time for an interrogation. If she had intended treachery she would've not placed herself here amongst us alone when an attack happens.]

Despite the elder's words, Wrhoshk refused to let go, glaring in full contempt. The Mandalorian's vision worsened, she managed to utter with great difficulty.

"Kill…me n-now…or…let go."

Surprised at her statement Wrhoshk loosening the grip and Minerva fell to the wooden floor. Coughing, she tried to recover while Wrhoshk turned away and sprinted off to join the settlement's defense with fellow warriors. As for their families they made flight, intending to flee for the wilderness for shelter. All except Rhust who went over to Minerva, towering over her.

Finally able to breathe more regularly she forced herself up. Pulling the helmet off she looked her old friend in the eyes and declared.

"Rhust I give you my word, I had no knowledge of this attack until it happened."

At first the old Wookiee said nothing but his expression was filled with resignation. He nodded in acknowledgment before.

[You must leave while there is still time.]

Looking back at the distance as the raiding ships drew closer Minerva hesitated. The Enclave once meant something to her and she had hoped they would recover to become strong again but this…this is not right. Killing honorable people and innocents for sport or galactic statements was not her way. She squeezed her hands into tightened fists, absolutely conflicted.

Anger and grief tore at her heart.

What should I do? I refuse to betray the Wookiees but those invading were my vod once."

For a moment in deepest despair she considered fleeing as Rhust advised, not wanting to kill either. Yet in the next moment Minerva narrowed her eyes, shaking her head. Turning Rhust she declared as she put on the helmet again.

"I will not run nor hide from this battle. Your enemies are my enemies, Mandalorian or not."

Blinking at what she just said, Rhust paused, fully understanding what his friend was sacrificing today. Subsequently he reached out with his right hand to a nearby paint pot. Then he placed the same hand onto Minerva's helmet, giving it a red painted hand print in a sideways fashion.

[So that my kin knows that you're with us. Let us go.]

Solemn yet inspired Minerva drew her rifle then ran and leaped off the platform, activating the jetpack. Already the raiders assaulted the shore, battling Kachriho‘s defenders. She flew around on the right flank, making a U-turn. Getting behind a Transdosen gunship she fired a missile, blasting its engines. Seconds later the craft fell into the water with a great splash.

Spotting a trio of Enclave warriors flying toward the embattled beach. She aimed and fired her blaster in a short burst at the one in the center, hitting his jetpack and he would flail his arms before crashing to a watery grave. Minerva fired again at the next invader, same result. The final warrior turned and while shocked returned fire at her.

Evading she and the other warrior flew around trading shots for the next minute but each missing. Only when Minerva rushed at her up close she slammed her helmet into the midsection, knocking the foe back. Taking advantage of it Minerva blasted her with four bolts and the warrior collapsed into the shore. Then Minerva made a dive and landed in a roll, kicking up sand.

Reloading a fresh clip she sighed. Win or lose, live or die she was going to fight this battle. Without further hesitation she charged alongside several Wookiee warriors shouting a battle cry in Mando'a.

"Par Balwwm!"

Yolaghun still was not sure what Dima was actually saying. Sure, he caught the gist of it, but in addition to him not entirely knowing the language yet, she had a peculiar way of speaking. He was starting to wonder if he'd made a mistake following such simple-minded people when he could be back on Kestri learning to communicate better. But oh well, he was here now. Might as well do whatever this hunt thingy was. He still wasn't sure what they were supposed to be hunting. Everyone basically was using a whole lot of words to say almost nothing of substance. But at least they seemed to be having fun.

Dima tried to get Yolaghun to show his teeth - at least, he was pretty sure that was what she was saying - so he did. He opened his maw, revealing his dagger-like teeth. However, opening his jaws like that gave him a peculiar urge to breathe fire. That would not be a good thing to do right now. So, he simply closed his jaws. As Dima was admiring different kinds of metal tools, Yolaghun went over to the hangar bay. He looked out past the energy shielding down at the surface of the planet. "What we're looking for is down there, right? Why are you all waiting around?" With that, he jumped out of the ship, soaring through the atmosphere down toward the surface, turning back to see if anyone would follow.

Breaking through a canopy of branches until his War Droid shook the earth with violence, even crushing a Wookiee whom so happen to be there. Terror screamed from Adenn’s mount to drive fear and break the morale of the proud Wookiees. Naturally their proud warriors retaliated, manning heavy weaponry and their iconic Bowcasters firing at their invaders. Not only would Adenn and his band worry for what was on the earth, but also in the trees as the Wookiees carved homes and other installments within the trees.

Atop of his mount he marched within village, suffering enemy fire while retaliating with his own barrage from his Bes’uliik.

<You brought your big boy beskar'gam, Munin?>

A snarl formed on his lips, a pet peeve of his that others jest around him unfamiliar with them.

<“I pray your ire matches your talent of making jokes, Beroya,”> he answered back annoyingly to the woman.

<“Press the attack!”> so to not waste the advantage they had from this unannounced blitz. <“Do what you must to make them feel our wrath.”>

<“And I want my scalps! Fifty of them or you’re worthless sack of bantha fodder.”>
And he’d make it personal to fight them should anyone fail that task. Everyone came for different reasons. To enslave the Wookiees, or acquire resources from them. None of that mattered to Adenn. All that mattered was the glory to earn from this battle.

From his mount he jumped off and soared into the air with his jetpack, before descending down on a Wookiee with his spear and driving it down on the warrior. His Basilisk could operate on its own, complex programming made it almost sentient though would not further away from its master.

He withdrew his spear from the fallen Wookiee before walking with swagger to find another Wookiee to slay.

Kachriho, Wawaatt Archipelago

A Wookiee hovercraft exploded to the far left! Minerva duck and rolled as an Enclave warrior fired his scattergun toward her. Up on both feet she lifted one of her vambraces unleashing a fibercord whip that wrapped around the gun. With a violet tuck she removed the weapon from his grip. Before the raider could retaliate he was blasted in the chest and flew back before collapsing in the sand.

Turning to see Rhust with his bowcaster Minerva grinned. Always there in a pinch. Quickly though she heard reptilian snarls and soon saw several armed Transdosens coming up. One of them with orange scales hissed at her.

"Mandalorian, what are you doing? Our clan and your people are on the same side!"

Instant rage ignited within Minerva at those words. Roaring out loud she charged straight at them via jetpack. With a dropkick she knocked the leader into his pack, disorganizing. Without hesitation she drew her dual pistols, ruthlessly gunning down the lizards on the sand. Most were killed but the leader and two others scattered out of the way.

Enraged, the Transdosen snarled before firing with his repeater back at Minerva, striking her shoulder armor with the first burst. She took evasive actions while Rhust engaged the other two. With a quick aim she shot his left arm then the right hand, causing the overgrown cried out in pain before another bolt cut through his forehead, falling sideways. His partners were already dead with energy holes in their bodies as Rhust spit at their corpses.

The victory was short-lived with an explosion erupted in front, tossing the allies back meters away. Head ringing she opened her eyes blinking inside the helm. Groaning Minerva pulled herself up before being kicked back down.

"Freeze!" A young voice ordered.

Glancing up, Minerva saw the business end of a blaster wielded by a Mandalorian in gray and yellow armor freshly painted. Is it his first battle? She briefly wondered what he demanded.

"Are you a bounty hunter pretending with stolen armor?"

"Nayc Ni cuyir Mando gar utreekov!" Retorted Minerva in an annoyed tone.

Despite being masked by a helmet, utter shock evident was betrayed by his body language.

"Why are you fighting us? We're vod. This raid is to honor our people."

Minerva angrily kicked the gun away before unleashing fire from her wrist flamethrower. Shrieks came out as the warrior while being burned alive in his armor. She flew back with the jet-boots just as her foe's jetpack exploded, leaving not much left.

"You were no vod of mine." She muttered bitterly.

Looking back onto the chaotic battlefield Minerva's fury continued to burn. The slain warrior's words more or less confirmed the excuse behind this aggression just as she suspected. The thrill to fight and kill challenges such as the mighty Wookiees. It didn't matter to these attackers whether the people here deserved this aggression or not as long as it satisfied their pride. The knowledge made her contempt for them all the more deeper.

They can't see beyond their blaster sights.

Rhust came tossing Minerva her pistols. Grabbing them with each hand she nodded in somber thanks.

[Minerva focus, don't lose yourself. You'll only succeed in getting killed.]

The elder Wookiee declared. Minerva shook her head, finding it hard to do so. She felt his great paw on her shoulder.

[We need to get to the capital. Reports saying that the invaders' main warship is flying over it.]

Understanding what that means Minerva ran beside Rhust, leaving the battle on the shoreline. Minutes laters they flew out in Minerva's gunship with nearly two dozen Wookiee warriors.

Rwookrrorro

At full speed Minerva flew up the surface before following the coordinates to Rwookrrorro. Breaking back into the surface she soon spotted the Ha'rangir-class Star Destroyer looming over the forested city. Any doubt that the Enclave or a faction of it wasn't behind this attack was erased at the sight of the warship.

Squeezing the controls Minerva had a new suspicion. There was a likely candidate who would command it. But to be sure she used the old Enclave frequency and swiftly enough she discovered the identity of its commander.

Romul Saxon

There was a time when a fresh faced recruit Minerva looked up to Warmaster when she was still with the Enclave. A living legend who fought in numerous wars and slew countless foes. He will accept no less than a true battle when entering combat.

Navigating through the contested airspace she landed on a semi-damaged platform. Rhust and his warriors rushed to assist in the city's defenses. Minerva stayed back, letting them go on without her. She didn't tell Rhust of her discovery, not wanting him to get involved in what she's about to do. Checking her gear one more time before stepping out into a city filled with smoke and ash.

Blasters echoed and engines screamed in the air.

Taking a deep breath before releasing it Minerva ran and leaped off the platform, flying again. She follow the frequency and hopefully it will led her straight to Saxon…

Droz swung to his left while in the air as a bolt from a Wookie bowcaster whizzed passed him, striking a trailing Mandalorian in the helmet as they spun backward from the force of the impact and plummeted to the shore below. Droz let out a Mandalorian war cry as he rapidly approached the ground, shifting his body to slow his approach before he unholstered his blasters and finally made landfall. He rolled with the momentum of his landing as he reoriented himself and got his bearings, finding himself face to face with a trapped Wookie child stuck under some heavy branches that had broken off in the initial wave of attacks. Droz couldn't help but let out a sadistic, "Boo!" as the Wookie child cried out in terror.
Just as Droz was about to grant the trapped child a merciful death, a loud guttural roar could be heard behind Droz as the man turned around to see a Wookie warrior charging straight at him. Droz chuckled as he muttered under his breath, "You want to play? Let's play." raising his blasters up, and starting to fire them off one after the other. The Wookie would shrug off the shots with his shield as he continued to charge at the invader, ready to brutally beat him to a pulp. Seeing as how his blasters were not going to be of much use and that the fight was soon about to get close and personal Droz swiftly holstered them and instead unsheathed his machetes, wielding one in each hand as he took up an aggressive stance.
The Wookie swung with his shielded arm at Droz as he tilted his body back to avoid the initial reach of the attack, just barely letting it swing by as he turned with the tilt of his body, dropping down low to avoid any follow-up attacks as he slashed at the Wookie's leg simultaneously. He knew full well that one hit was all the Wookie needed to knock him out long enough for the Wookie to rip him to pieces. But he thrived off the danger and thrill of battle, and it showed as he goaded the Wookie into making frenzied, wild attacks that would result in easy calculated, and surgical counters from him. In little time the Wookie was already a cut-up and bleeding mess, the rage and fury still intact but the vigor and deliberateness of all their actions were fading fast.
After finishing off the first Wookie he'd glance around to see Adenn dispatch their own, making the Munin chuckle as he was reminded of old times. Droz promptly opened up a public comms as he spoke, <<"You have your father's spark boy. Make him proud.">>, the comm would shortly cut off as it was punctuated by Droz's laughter as he wrapped up collecting his first trophy. Droz would stand up with his bloodied machetes in hand as he gave them a quick flick to clean off the blood. The time to hunt and kill was now and the wrath of a Mandalorian was to be feared more than anything in the Galaxy.

Clan Munin and other Marauders

Do_Bad_Well
As Adenn Munin Adenn Munin broke down through the canopy of wroshyr trees on his ferocious Bes'uliik, Kaiyra followed but did not land as he did below. She and her own "iron beast" continued to ride and give air support from aloft while the rest of their warriors started the crusade in earnest below.

The red and black armored Mando just shook her helmeted head as she watched her brother's mount come to rest atop a Wookiee. How him! Adenn then used the hairy humanoid's Kashyyyk bladestick to finish him off with a flourish that was akin to their father's.

He and Droz Munin Droz Munin were definitely in berserker mode this day as the elder clansman joined the younger in battle. The two were destined to bring much glory for Clan Munin as the Gods seemingly were blessing them on this mission so far.

Kaiyra's destiny though was different than her brother's as collecting scalps from enemies was not her jive. She would much prefer to win a prized weapon in a valor fight than take-home body parts of those slain. Ewww. Her mother had a lightsaber or two stashed away as souvenirs from battles fought hard during the earlier crusades against the Jedi of the Grand Republic. The songs sung of those times still rang out to this day. What a time to be a Mandalorian... then and now.

Buruk honed in his awesome array of firepower upon the tree house platforms tearing them apart and causing flames to erupt through the canopy top while she picked off Wookiees warriors who were shooting down upon the Crusaders with their crossbows from connecting bridges and sniper nests strategically placed amongst the towering vegetals.

<"One... Five... Ten... "> Kaiyra called out gleefully as her twin Rippers hit their mark after each firing. Not bad for target practice she thought... but that carefree musing did not pay off for the young Munin.

Suddenly, the two were hit with a tremendous force sending them into a spiral of sorts downward. A howl erupted from Buruk as he tried to not lose total control and kill them both. It took a moment for Kaiyra to figure out what had happened. It seemed a big Wookiee had jumped from a branch above and landed square upon the war droid; slamming the Munin down hard into the saddle and knocking the wind out of her for just a second or so; a tick in time a warrior couldn't get back.

His giant hairy paw immediately grabbed feverishly with claws extended for her arm most likely to rip it off. She twisted just enough under the Wookiee's body weight as they struggled to activate her knuckle blade, then plunged it directly into the exposed neck of the arboreal mammal and gave it a twist before pulling the blade back out. Blood sprayed at high velocity from the gaping neck hole. As the life drained from him quickly, the Wookiee's sharp claws still found some purpose though. See, seconds do count.

Before the Silverback slipped off the side of the war droid to the depths below, the now blood-stained Mando snagged a pair of ryyk kerarthorrs from his belt that had some fancy etching on the handles...

Kandosii!

The native warrior was either brave or foolish to have done the feat they chose. She would take the win and the spoils this day, and probably a battle scar to go with it as there was a tear noted in her body glove and tenderness underneath where he slashed at her arm.

Kaiyra shrugged the minor wound off and leaned forward in the saddle mount, patting the iron beast on the top of his head. <"Let's catch up with the rest of them, hmm... Can't let them have all the glory now can we?"> The blonde quipped though the smirky grin normally worn with that said didn't go all the way to her agua blue eyes. That incident was a little too close for comfort and a lesson learned the hard way... Don't get cocky.

Perhaps one Adenn should take to heart as well... but he won't. Vilaz's son, remember? Men?!

Minerva jetted through thick black clouds from the burning buildings all around. Unless a major power like the Alliance intervenes soon the outcome is inevitable. Gritting her teeth Minerva realized no help was coming by then. The raiders will be long gone by the time the outside galaxy finds out exactly what's happening.

We're on our own.

Mid-flight she detected one Mandalorian gunship making a bomb run against a sentry tower. Wookiee turrets sprayed green bolts at their approach but it was in vain. The war machines howled before raining explosive death on its defenders and the tower's top completely vaporized. They flew away from it to the left, searching for new targets no doubt.

It only took an instant before Minerva sped after it. Many would declare such a pursuit insanity but right now she doesn't care. She strained the engine's power just to keep up. So far the warrior piloting didn't seem to notice her or more likely registered the tag along as an ally. A grave mistake.

Nearing the flying machine as it slowed to make a climb above a Worshyr Tree settlement, preparing a new attack dive. She will have to time this right Just as it finished its ascending, Minerva quickly locked on. With a whoosh the last missile slammed into the gunship, blowing its main engine. Being close as she is, the resulting shockwave swatted Minerva away as the armed transport fell as a brick toward the forest below.

Falling out of control she suddenly activated her jet boots. Jettisoning to the side she crashed right into a roof. With a massive thud she hit the floor, the shoulder and helmet. Head ringing she laid there groaning.

”Not doing that again anytime soon.“ Minerva told herself, gritting teeth while trying to sit up again.

Just as she did the warrior's eyes widened in shock as she saw next.

All around several Wookiee bodies, some filled with blaster holes or burned to a crisp. Yet what drew her attention was where most corpses were scalped and even mutilated. At closer examination she saw it wasn’t Transdosen work, recongizing the technique as Mandalorian similar to how she skin some prey in a hunt. Several of those bodies were smaller... She froze in absolute horror, before hyperventilating.

"Noo…" She gasped before bowing her helm.

Outside fires crackled, shots rang and engines screeched. Yet Minerva didn't pay it any attention, consumed by the butchery she's surrounded in. Each passing moment her hyperventilating became worse. Biting her lower lip until it bled, Minerva in vain tried to back the sobs but only to throw her head back and roared as loud as she had ever done in her life.

Panting she squeezed her fists, consumed utterly by rage. Subsequently Minerva heard footsteps and helmeted voices. Without missing a beat she sprang to both feet and drew a Beskad in the left hand and charged up the right vambrace, using the deflector shield's power

Three other Mandalorians with weapons stormed in, obviously new-bloods in their stride. One of them, a Twi'lek woman in blue armor, tilted her head in question.

"Huh what are you doing—

Minerva sped right toward her with a gut punch into the midsection by the resulting electric pulse. Sparks erupted as the armored Twi'lek flew back her systems, including the jetpack were rendered fried as she fell off the ledge outside the door. The other two retaliated quickly, one firing his repeater and the other with dual pistols at their attacker. Minerva rolled out of the way before slicing across the heavy gunner's leg just above the knee.

He howled in pain but Minerva spun, cutting at his jetpack in flaming sparks. The gunner could manage to yell in surprise as he was dragged up by an out of control jetpack, breaking through the ceiling. An explosion followed but Minerva was hit several times all over the armor.

"Die dar'manda!" The remaining warrior shouted.

Scowling underneath the helmet Minerva unleashed five whistling birds from one of the jet boots. They bounced off the raider's armor but distracted him enough for his opponent to fire a grappling line and violently yanked him forward. Off balance he nevertheless used a wrist flamethrower, forcing Minerva to duck and roll and he yanked again. Just as they both got up Minerva made a swift decapitation and the enemy's head rolled off the shoulders. Pulling the grapple line off she breathed heavily, hinting at the toil on her.

Minerva hissed in newfound pain now feeling a burn in her right side and one across the edge of her right arm. Before she could ponder on what to do next her commlink beeped. Taking the call Minerva heard Rhust's barking voice.

[Minerva where are you?! The invaders are pressing their attack on the council assembly. Get your ship as fast as possible. We can't hold out much longer!]

"On my way." The Mandalorian answered in a horse voice, feeling frustration with herself. Her intention to seek out Romul Saxon must be sacrificed now, frustrating as it is no matter her condition.

She gave one last glance over the slaughtered Wookiee family in the other room. It was only so brief yet felt like eternity. Minerva never met them while they lived yet their dead tortured forms screamed out to her louder than the blasterfire.

"Your lives mattered." She whispered in determination before taking holo-photos as evidence.

The moment passed and she ran out of the hut onto the adjacent causeway. Activating her jetpack and jetboots Minerva flew back at high speed.

_____________________________

Sometime later Minerva was flying in her gunship with med patches on her wounds. Still in pain the warrior directed the craft toward the massive assembly building. It was being attacked from multiple angles by a combination of Basilisks, gunships and jetpack flying warriors. Even the entrenched Wookiee defenders held on, making the raiders suffer as they were, utilizing all their ferocity, close space and unique weaponry.

Minerva called in to her old friend.

"I'm here."

[We'll come out through the secret passage underneath. I'll signal through a flare.]

Going in low it didn't take long before she spotted an orange flare popped out of the trunk. Slowing down Minerva then noted the thirty or so Wookiees coming in. It's going to be tight but she'll manage. Drawing closer and closer she opened the ramp just as the gunship was meters from the massive group that included warriors, elders and children. They came onboard as Minerva checked the scanners in case the raiders did notice.

Fortunately they appeared to be more occupied with trying to destroy the resistance above. Coming behind Rhust with a burned wound to the left shoulder roared in his language.

[Go! Go!]

Minerva obliged, increasing thrusters. Navigating the city being scorched she made a hard right bank, evading burning falling debris. Gritting teeth the Mandalorian kept them until they were out range of the capital and the Mandalorian flagship looming over it. Then the craft began its exit from the atmosphere.

"Where to?" She asked Rhust without looking toward him. He softly growled.

[Alrais Prime, to my cousin's settlement,]

"Oh yes I remember that one."

Sobered silence between them followed as the stars and the blackness of space came into fire. She could hear the young and old Wookiees talking, roaring and weeping outside the cockpit. Some lives were saved today but not everyone. Gripping the controls tightly Minerva flew away from Kashyyyk. The lingering sympathies she once held for the Enclave was completely destroyed with what she experienced down there.

Is that why I fought and bled for the Enclave all those years...so they can mass murder children for sport?!

Eyes narrowed inside the helmet as the knuckles began to hurt at the strain she was putting on herself. She didn't care about whatever justifications or excuses that will be given for this. They're no better than the Sith in her eyes now and will be treated as such.

"Val malyasa'yr sada."

Minerva whispered furiously in Mando'a before the ship went into lightspeed.

Rwookrrorro burned as the sounds of war echoed throughout the treetops. Wookiee aircraft flew through the canopies of the massive Wroshyr trees, engaging Clan Saxon fighters and dropships. At the beginning of the assault, several had attempted to make their way towards the massive Ha'rangir-class Star Destroyer hanging back, silhouetting the tree city, but they had been quickly shot out of the sky. Since then the Wookiees had remained in the trees, and the Ha'rangir-class Star Destroyer had remained above. It had the firepower to instantly turn the entire city and surrounding landside into molten slag, but that was not why it was here.

That was not why Romul was here.

His personal dropship touched down in the center of a great treetop plaza, suspended hundreds of feet from the ground below. In times of peace, it was likely a serene place; now, it was filled with embattled Mandalorian and Wookiee forces. His guard quickly dispersed, allowing Romul to march front and center. << "Leave the helpless. If you see a foundling, you may take them. Our fight is with the warriors of this people," >> Romul rumbled over comms as he strode towards a large Wookiee warrior, covered by a massive shaggy pelt of black fur. The Wookiee roared in the challenge, and Romul brandished his massive war hammer in return. He had faith in his warriors that they were disciplined enough to follow his orders; after all, he'd been the one who trained them.

The Wookiee swung a massive wooden club downwards at Romul's head, the crude device made of hardened wroshyr wood more akin to steel than to any other lumber. Romul swung his own hammer, bringing it up to intercept the club's trajectory. They impacted and bounced off of each other. Even for Romul's massive size and strength, fighting a Wookiee was no easy feat. It pushed him to exert himself beyond what he was used to. Good. He would let it strengthen him.

The Wookiee roared again and began a platform-rattling charge at Romul. The Mandalorian Alor was quicker, though, and brought his hammer on an upwards swing that impacted at the Wookiee's chin, shattering the furry beast's jaw. Stunned by the blow, the Wookiee fell backward to the ground. Moving to stand over the Wookiee, who whimpered through a bloodied mess of broken bone and spurting blood, Romul stared for a moment. Then he hefted his hammer, raised it, whipped it around his back, and swung overhead and down, granting the mercy of death to the Wookiee. It would be dishonorable to allow a warrior as courageous as that beast to suffer needlessly.

Romul raised his bloodied hammer to survey his clan, who had once more pushed the line of battle past him, cutting into the Wookiee's defense. Fires raged around them. Many would consider the Mandalorian's actions here a crime, though they were not mindlessly pillaging. The infirm and young would remain unharmed, to the best of the Mandalorian's capabilities. Some lucky few would even become adopted as foundlings, and receive the chance to redeem their bloodline and join the Manda. But Clan Saxon was not here for them.

They were here for the strong. They were here to whet their steel against the strength of the Wookiees, to sharpen their blades even further. Should they prevail, they would emerge fire-hardened and stronger. Should they fail, then it would be a sign of weakness, arasuum, a cancer that must be scraped out wherever it was found. This trial of strength was the natural order that all beings in the galaxy -- the Mandalorians, the Jedi, the Sith, the trillions of sentient beings throughout the galaxy -- followed, willingly or not. But only the Mandalorians willingly embraced it. Only they understood it,.

Romul marched on. Darasuum Kote.

She had gone in as the runt in her squad, the call of battle from the vow of her Alor, Amar Mobius to support Romul Saxon Romul Saxon 's crusade fueling everything Clan Mobius did that day.

Personally, Clan Mobius had nothing against The Wookiees. But their backs as a civilization were against the wall. And one does not casually make a promise to a Warmaster and then break it.

Clan Mobius had done what it was usually good at, serving as pilots, techs, engineers. They repaired things Mandalorians needed repaired. They did their best work in the small details, in other words.

But they could and often did fight on the front like any other. The main difference was their lack of boasting about it. The clan didn't bother with threats, or monologues to others. They struck preemptively. With silence until after the kill was confirmed. Less chance of witnesses. Even to their victories.

They had been sent by their Alor, Amar, to find the whereabouts of a supposed Cache of rare, deadly weapons in the forest. Something that would help fuel the war effort being spearheaded by Romul Saxon Romul Saxon

He had given strict instructions to kill Wookiee's only as necessary to complete their task.

We are not going to Kashyyyk for the reasons Saxon and the others are. That was what Amar had told them all.

When Red heard that, it was when she realized Clan Mobius had some other reason for supporting Romul. One that had nothing to do with 'honor' or 'glory'.

But she didn't know what it was. Had she missed something? She supported Mandalorians being dominant in the Galaxy...

The clan had not gone down in the Basilisk War Droids so many of their fellows had. They kept those in storage, and normally refused to pull them out. For Red, this was the first time she had seen so many active in one place as she and the team she was assigned to landed in an old Sentinel Class Landing Craft, setting up a defensive perimeter. Very few, she noticed, were actually assigned to the task of reaching the cache. Amar had tasked the rest with quickly eliminating the most dangerous Wookiee Warriors. No trophy taking was permitted this time. What was being done to the Wookiees was not personal. It wasn't even about testing themselves against powerful foes.

It was just business today. Red didn't get it. Wasn't following Romul and spreading the Mandalorian way a good thing? Or was his idea of Mandalorian prosperity only similar to her clan's ideas on a superficial level?

A defensive perimeter, full of turrets was quickly set up around the craft as they cleared out. Her adoptive Brother, Sedrik was with her. His armor was asymmetrical in it's color scheme, completely Red on the left side, and completely Green on the right.

"Stick close, Ge'Tal. Kill the Wookiees only when they impede our progress." he told her. Sedrik always had her back, ever since she was adopted. She couldn't imagine not having his.

"Gonna be an awful lot of Wookiees looking to do just that." she pointed out.

"So the better. It'll look like we're pulling our weight to the others." he replied coldly.

"Aren't we supposed to be?" Red asked innocently.

Sedrik chuckled almost maliciously.

"Oh, Ge'Tal, you sweet summer child!" he replied before turning and signaling to the others to move out. Red raised an eyebrow under her helmet but moved with him

The Wookiees had provided the clan the proper rush of action as they headed deep into the forest, Basilisk War Droids raining death on their villages. The Wookiees were fearsome opponents, and rather than get caught in protracted duels, many, including her brother, downed them with Class D Disruptor Pistols, making a special point to target the largest and strongest, Some, like Red, clad in her bone white armor, relied exclusively on melee, which was a challenge because the Wookiees were large, powerful and mistakes against one were very costly. But she wasn't all that good at range. It was a weakness she was still trying to excise. But hey, it was so delightfully kandosii to banhammer someone to death. Even Romul Saxon enjoyed Banhammering people.

Red ducked the wild, thick sword swings of a female Wookiees trying to avenge her mate as she got near a tree. Red felt no honor as as she swung the hammer into the Wookiee's chest and caved it in, killing the female Wookiee almost instantly. Red had come here to seek out the most promising battles.

Why did she feel this way? Like she was covered in muck and filth? Well...she was covered in muck and filth, but that was entirely besides the point. She felt...like the slaughter here was pointless. Where was the glory in dropping in on and frying the Wookiees? Red didn't see it, didn't feel glorified. Didn't enjoy it. No wonder Amar said no trophies. The slaying of the Wookiees was dirty business.

A Wookiee burst from the trees, swinging a burning tree trunk the size of Red's whole body. Her clan mates scrambled out of the way, but one took it right in the chest and was sent flying into a large group of her other clan, knocking them free of their grip on their disruptors. The Wookiee was like a big, lumbering, furry demon that swiped at them angrily, black fur set ablaze. He killed another two of her clan with the speed of a freight train.

His trunk swung down, and Red's heart leapt in her throat as it killed Jonah, one of the more seasoned ones in her clan. The Wookiee had timed his ambush perfectly. Red had to act fast before anyone else died in her clan. She activated her jet pack and flew at him, giant beskar Warhammer (40K) swinging for his face. But the Wookiee caught the shaft of her hammer, and flung her away so hard the lifting force generated by her jetpack was unable to compensate properly. She smacked into hard dirt and fallen logs, her jetpack smashed up on impact.

Red scrambled back to her feet, the giant of a Wookiee smacked the disruptor out of one of her clan's hands, lifted him up by the head, tossed him bodily upward a little, and then smacked his sorry ass with the burning tree trunk like he was a baseball, launching him face first into another tree, cracking it.

She saw Sedrik in the distance, trying to raise his disruptor pistol. The Wookiee noticed and hurled the burning tree trunk at Sedrik.

Red hurled her hammer of near solid beskar at the tree trunk. It's Repulsorlift motor kicked in and the hammer stabilized as it slammed into the burning trunk, though not before a shard of it pierced the pistol Sedrik had been trying to use, along with a few other burning splinters getting through gaps in his armor, incapacitating him.

"SEDRIK!!!" Red shouted, her hammer returning to her as she ran to defend him. The Giant Wookiee bellowed and they charged at one another.

Her hammer found his face, but all it did was piss the Wookiee off. He ripped the hammer out of her grasp almost effortlessly and smacked her with it, the hammerhead connecting with her damaged jetpack and partly reactivated it and sent Red spiraling out of control and tumbling into the branches of a tree, where it died for good this time.

Red knew the strength of that hammer. One solid connect and even her own armor would be critically compromised. The Wookiee swung it like he was Eli Roth directly into the tree whose branches Red had become trapped in, splintering it into thousands of pieces at the tree trunk.

Red tumbled to the ground, barely rolled out of the way of the hammer strike that cracked the ground where she had been. The Wookiee attacked again, and she rolled out of the way again. She saw a burning splinter from his destroyed weapon and grabbed it, driving it into his furry foot. The Wookiee roared as he stumbled, dropping the hammer as she pulled the splinter shard out and drove it into the Wookiee's inner thigh and twisted.

The Wookiee doubled over, than looked at her with a gaze that said C'mon, really?

"Bad idea." was all Red had time to say before a paw swipe sent her flying away (Anytime: 7000 XP)

Red, knocked silly and heavily disoriented, could only crawl away as the Wookiee advanced, blood running heavily down his leg. Red had twisted the wound so it wouldn't close.

He came at her relentlessly, swiping at her with an incensed fury.

Red crawled frantically away from the giant Wookiee as he swiped, with her barely dodging. But he was getting sluggish, bleeding more, and faster. He was getting easier to dodge.

After another few vicious swipes, his blood flowed down his leg as Red now more patiently dodged him, even in her woozy state of mind.

Finally he collapsed, trying to crawl to her, his blood rage having made sure he didn't appreciate the severity of the injury until it was too late. Red kept moving away from feeble attempts to grab her until he finally expired.

Red had no time to reflect, and instead checked on the dead or injured before focusing on her Brother.

"We lost four." she said as she ran up to him. "Lots of heavy injuries".

"Then you must reach the cache alone..." Sedrik said, tossing her his set charges, along with a small note.

"What? That's suicide!" she protested.

"It'll all make sense when you reach it. Go!" he brother ordered.

Confused, she took the charges and letter...

"What about you?" she asked.

"I'll be fine. Go!" He ordered again

Red ran deeper into the forest...
