Honestly while the speech was quite riveting and what not, Camellia couldn't really invest herself in it. So far she hadn't felt taken very advantage of by the Republic, and she seemed fine when doing business with the Silver Jedi and private investors. In truth she was really supporting it to expand her shipwright's market. Rendili Stardrive was very much restricted in the Core Worlds as of late. She very much wanted to build some smaller shipyard stations out in the Mid and Outer Rim territories. However, it was hard to gauge what Mid Rim worlds were worth building over and the Outer Rim was outside Republic protection, although several worlds of the Silver Jedi might likely accept a Rendili Space Dock being built over them. In truth Ice's speech he was giving would actually be beneficial if she really felt bullied, but at the same time this would only make them bigger targets unless they could throw weight back.
It did leave Rendili Stardrive's CEO wondering though, if Krayt Industries was here because the Sith were keeping them under reign then. That would certainly be interesting. What was less interesting though, and more alarming, was the sudden statement of their technology rights being alleviated. Sadly she was going to have to disagree, but she was going to be polite enough to let the man have his peace first. It wasn't a surprise when he nominated her for the security chair, or himself for chair of the board, but it was interesting to note who he supported for the diplomatic seat. Camellia had her feelings about the two, but knew little about them other than maybe recalling word about matsu and believing that it looked like Alexandra was Echani, but then that was perhaps bias from the white hair. . . .
"I don't think it will work quite so delicately." Hopefully she wasn't just going to seem like a. . . .well ungenerous word for speaking up, but at the same time she knew that to some degree the others would feel the same. "It is understandable we want to make our own ships the very best we can, and I'm sorry to further delay talk about the chair positions, but there are going to be some components each company will wish to keep regulated and secret as a part of their trade that gives them an edge in their market. Rather than presenting our technologies to each other. I think it is better that if you insist upon the contribution of multiple bits of our components, that each company produce the technology themselves and transport them to where our ships will be constructed. Then if anyone does suddenly start producing copies or imitations of our special technologies we would see a betrayal of trust. I find that better than any company losing their special components by providing everyone with the data and schematics for them. As to the construction of the ships then though. . . . .if I recall correctly Rendili Stardrive and Krayt Industries focus the most on their development, and Ice, your own company is closely following I think. If anyone cannot produce ships themselves, or manage the size of some of the larger ones we would develop. They should mention so now and we can clear up contracts to provide for them. It shouldn't be too much of a problem since we won't be able to field many as it is, but all the same I believe we can at least equip each board member with a Corporate Alliance vessel each under the current Galactic Laws correct?"
That should settle the issue of the Corporate Alliance's fleets. Everyone could still technically make a joint ship with the best tech, but no one would divulge secrets on their special technology, and anyone skimming off other's work and profits would be an untrustworthy member liable to be dealt with. The second part about the others was mostly because she was already assuming from what Matsu said that the woman's company could not produce a ship for themselves, and perhaps the remaining members couldn't either, so if they might as well know now so they could plan how to get them those ships. Which only left the chairs issue. "I won't say that I'm not biased. I am a dedicated member of the Republic and Rendili Stardrive prides itself on providing many of their military vessels. However, if you meant what you said in the grand speech before then if everyone were to follow that philosophy of putting the Alliance first then anyone is eligible for the board chair. I still do not nominate myself for it though. I have close ties to the Republic, the Silver Jedi, several core worlds, and a few private investors. I'm taking a risk as it is considering Republic policy, but I believe my position can also be of use to them by increasing Rendili Stardrive's market base. Thus I eliminate myself to avoid conflicts of interest, issues with the rest of you concerning my loyalties, and because it would be too much work with my other dedications. I would like to offer my services as either the Security or Diplomatic seat if needed. I would also support nominations for Matsu or Alexandra for the Diplomatic Seat, and either Aurna Vern or Alexandra as Chairwoman. I have a good feeling for the both of them, and I feel their positions make them ideal considering from the outside they would not worry any government or faction who saw them take power here."
She also left out rumors she heard about Ice's attachment to some, but then it was only word of mouth and hearsay to her in the Core, plus it would just seem. . . . .weird from the outside if the only man of the group was suddenly in charge of so many women surrounding him. They might think he was up to no good. The thought made it difficult to restrain a smirk.
