The Republic Counter-Invasion of Prakith [Republic vs. One Sith]

Location: Real Citadel

Ebony fingers were unrelenting as she lead the jedi forward, pressing deeply into his upper arm. "Quinn Vos. I have a new sacrifice for Darth Isolda," gruff voice left her throat as she paused at the gates. The guards would feel the dark in her presence, gold-rimmed irises threatening to spill over her fiery-eyes. The feeling might shock Ryan; make him question what was about to happen.

Good.

The guards didn't give them much trouble. She was a One Sith member. A group of two escorted the pair to the chambers of the infamous Sith Lord. Heart pounded in her chest. She didn't know if she was holding onto Korr so tightly for stability for herself or for the illusion of remaining in control.

Soon.

As the claymore's got closer to the space port they broke into seven teams of fifty. the first two teams where to head directly to the spacepor. The other five teams set up a perimeter around the area to eliminate any sith vong and diffences in the area.

"this is team one reporting in. we have reached the Spaceport but there is a shield protecting it, we have begun bombardment but unsure how long it will take to bring down. the other team's have almost gotten into place to secure a perimeter cutting off ground re-enforments" this was pleasing news to Sanya her plan had taken effect well. "good job men, what are the casualties" the commander didn't hesitate to answer "teams four to six are in battle with vong and sithspawn but no casualties have been reported." loud explosions where cover the background as volleys of shot's had been fired at the shield. "okay report in again in 30." Sanya stood up from her chair to check all the system of her ship was good and ready to go. so far she had not been found or noticed by anyone which was lucky. if she was found now the surprise attacks would be foiled.

  • Destroy the Citadel

Flames licked at the mandalorians body, his armor unlike most of the mandos did not encompass every part of him. Instead it was designed to give ease to those who relied on agility and the force over raw protective fire. Consisting of only a chest plate that only covered his chest and part of his stomach, shin and forearm guards and a single pauldren over his left should. This allowed him to fight with the full force of his swordsmanship and it allowed him to move unhindered.

His fur trench coat began to fester with flames and burn away as he continued to work through the throng of vong monstrosities, billowing and smoldering leaving a trail of smoke in his wake. Flames licked at his exposed flesh leaving behind blisters and scalding pain. For a brief moment he focused on it and it cost him dearly as one of the rat like vermin crashed into him sending him tumbling to the ground.

The creature was on top of him, gnashing teeth snapping at his face and rending claws scrapping against his chest plate finding soft flesh as it tried to pry the delicious morsel from its tin can. Arumi had his hands holding the wicked death of its mouth at bay, his right hand holding its throat with all the might he could muster. His left hand worked furious punches into the creatures jaw.

For a moment he thought he would die until he remembered the daggers on his hip, in an instant his left hand found one and planted it into the creatures skull. Teeth still snapping and claws still rending he bashed the hilt of the dagger repeatedly and held on to the creature as its bodies echoed in the last throws of death. He pushed the corpse off of him and breathed only for a moment before another one of the creatures was charging at him. He pulled his last dagger and with strength of the force sent it flying towards the beast, striking home between its eyes. He reached out with the force and called at his beskad to him, he was drained and he knew he only had a little left to give.

Those firebreathers had to go, of all the creatures those mobile engines of death and blistering flames would pose the most threat to a Republic victory here. He took a measure of himself, cut, bloodied, burned with several broken ribs, he started towards the Firebreathers cutting and stabbing only those that he had to.He channeled the force blocking the pain out and focused tapping into the inner being of himself, to what he once was. Darth Fidelis came out to play, and the game was death.

The conversation between Ewok and Sith Lord was cut short as a Republic dropship arrived overhead, disgorging several Jedi. Warok swiftly unwound his chain-whip lightsaber, as yet unactivated, and rushed toward the nearest one, who had just dispatched several Vong. Warok spun the length of burnished beskar, slowly, momentum building. Light gleamed off his gauntlets but he was otherwise completely unarmored, wearing only the traditional Ewok head-covering.

The length of beskar began to hum. Warok kept it spinning with subtle twitches of the wrist as he approached the dark-haired foe, with one simple question in mind.

What does the fox say?

Enemies: Sith(Itty bitty ewoks included)
Goal: End the age old question.

Vulpesen's golden eyes shifted to the ewok that dared to challenge him. For him, it was certainly something new for him. He had always fought people who were bigger than him in both strength and size. Whether this change of pace would help him or not, he wasn't quite sure yet. Though, the opening statement of his opponent did make his first attack far too easy.

Bending his legs to absorb the coming impact of his upper body, the zorren opened his mouth and gave the answer to [member="Warok the Defiler"]'s question. Vulpesen had learned force howl long ago before he was even a jedi. Such a time made it one of his most unspoken yet most powerful abilities and now with the new vocal capabilities of his awakening as a full zorren, the ability was exponentially advanced by his normal abilities which could naturally sound over miles of territory. The sound waves ripped through the air as they charged at Warok, aiming to blast him away with the concussive force. He asked... now he knew. "HOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!"

Alexandra watched as the Ewok appeared and even more when Vulpesen took it upon himself to use a ability that had in the past cracked her ribs like nothing. Making sure she was far out of the range of the thing, in the realm of direction she covered her ears as the howl pierced through the air like the sound of a cannon being fired right next to you. With a shake of her head she shook it off and looked up to see what destruction if any and what had happened to the Ewok, she had an idea if it didn't go flying into the air like a ball that it was probably stronger than she would give the creature credit for.

The last thing Randial saw was death. But who emerged victorious? Both could die alone. Both might die together. There were many paths, and Randial had no way to know which one he was taking. Not yet. His Meditations were interrupted as the Huntress came into view, beckoning guards to let her through with her captured Jedi. Curious that she managed to obtain one so quickly into the battle. Perhaps she had captured him before the battle's start. An advance scout perhaps? Isolda would want to know of this. An interrogation could give useful information. He would say 'vital' but the Jedi's doom was all but written in stone at this point. There would be no salvation for them, only the buying of time.

Rising to his feet he looked down at the Huntress and her prey. "I will escort you." Randial said, and another Sith joined him in taking her into the woman's chambers. Was this the Focal Point he had meditated on? Was this Jedi the one he saw? No. He was not the One. The Other. But if not the flame-haired captive then who would he fight this day?

Sub-Objective: Maintain Cover

Enemies: [member="Darth Isolda"] [member="Quinn Vos"](Maybe)

The Other, the One that Randial saw was not Ryan Korr, nor was the battle an entirely physical one. Truth be told the 'visions' of 'the future' he saw weren't even true visions of the future. Instead Jaxton, or Randial as it were, was concentrating on The White Current. A path and skillset of the Force taught to him by Ember Rekali in day's long past. When Jaxton was a Jedi. When Isis Fontana was fleeing the Jedi, for the first time. When the Sith were an Empire. When the Republic was something he believed in.

Jaxton had infiltrated the One Sith long ago, immersing himself in the White Current to maintain the appearance of an entirely different species. He'd learned from Ashin Varanin to maintain a Darkside Aura to compliment his aesthetic change. But Ryan Korr had an inkling of experience with the White Current, enough to see through Illusions as it were. He would see "Randial" for what he was, a former Jedi he may or may not have known the face and name of, with a bit more bloated complexion. A result of bathing in the Font of Power on Abeloth's world in hunt of the Sith Lord Odium. Ryan's enemy. Quinn's former lover. Jaxton's victim. What a harsh universe it was they lived in.

Jaxton's face would not comfort Ryan, for he knew a thing or two of appearing like the enemy now. There would be no mental reinforcement of hope, no assurance through the Force that everything would be okay. Beyond maintaining his cover Jaxton didn't know if everything would be okay. He didn't know if he'd die this day. But he knew that the One Sith needed stopping, and the people of the Galaxy, not just the Jedi, needed his help. If the price to pay for a better galaxy was his death? He'd gladly pay it in full.

The halls of the citadel extended in themselves, each and everyone of them more alike to each other than anyone would like to admit. Some of the walls were aligned with Royal Guards, others held the peculiar Slayers, there were representatives of every Voice’s host in this fortress and that was how it was supposed to be.

Within the folds of the Force the Voice could sense something, it was not so much a disturbance as much as it was an irregularity, an unknown woven into a plan meticulously crafted and if there was one thing that Carach truly loved, besides his fascination for the arcane, knowledge and pebbles, it was a mystery.

One had used the White Current within the Citadel.

Carach knew not who this man or woman was, it could be a Sith and yet… to his ears there had not been any reports of Sith within the ranks that utilized the Current, not as deftly, as subtly. One always had to be careful and never to take chances when a war was on foot.

Apologies could always be extended, if his paranoia was running rampant, and if it wasn’t? If this was a problem waiting to be fixed? Well, then he was simply right and everyone could go back home without grumbling about it.

So it was that the Sith Lord started to draw upon his connection with the Force, pulling power into him, he did not use it yet, but the beginnings of a construct was there, slowly settling into his mind and ready to spring up if necessary.

Careful, dear Sena.’ charming smile, so dashing. But those burning eyes spoke of different tales. ‘You never know what a Sith Lord might ask.’

Valtryx snapped out of her silent, meditative state she had found herself in through sheer boredom, and instead paid close attention to her senses. The familiar presence she had sensed was much closer than she had first anticipated. She concentrated solely on it, and broke into a run towards it. It was as if it was calling to her; the dark side willed her to find it. She reached one of the landing bays, and there, alongside Vulpesen and another person Valtryx did not know, stood Alexandra, her former friend and master. Part of her refused to believe it, but she was there, and making quick work of the Vong. Vulpesen appeared to be occupied with an Ewok, which was all the better for her.
"Alexandra!" The Yodaling called, unholstering her lightsaber and staring down the Echani woman. "A mistake you have made, coming here..." Without a second of thought, Valtryx charged towards Alex, igniting her crimson red blade and leaping into the air. She would aim to land just infront of her target, dealing a flurry of strikes from above, before continuing with a vicious assault once on the ground, all of it fueled by her inner rage. Deep inside, she didn't want to do this. But she had to.

Alexandra was a traitor...

He took his sonic attachment for his blaster rifle and attached it, go figure, then headed back down via the stairs so no one cpuld meta game knowing everything via alarms that he had codes for anyway.

He rushed down the steps and was mostly ignored as he made it to the fouth floor.

"Six floors to go." He said as he hopped down the steps.

As she looked for a while no signs of the others some of the ships had been shot down they may have died she thought, looking to the soldiers under her she knew she had to stay strong for them though they never admitted it Republic soldiers always looked to the Jedi as leaders almost as minor super heroes in this situation. He began to lead them toward the space port using the back ally ways of the city as cover to get close. It’d not be too long before she arrived near the port and gave orders to move in toward it. They looked to be in an area that was only lightly defended. They easily dispatched the few guards they found and began to enter the massive complex of the port.

She split the troopers off to find the AA guns controls so they could get reinforcements onto the pad. From there she moved to try and find a comms system to work with maybe she could help the battle as a whole or contact other forces.

The Ewok did indeed fly, but not in the direction Vulpesen had squealed in. Upon seeing the up-jumped feral creature get ready to bellow, Darth Adekos intervened. Once upon a time, he had utilized Ewoks as projectile weapons in a humiliating duel between him and some illusionist ruffian. The invisible hand of the Force grabbed Warok by the scruff and yanked him through the air, bringing him into Adekos' waiting free hand. Upon receiving the Warok in hand, Adekos released the Ewok and allowed him to fall to the ground. Presumably the creature had enough grace and agility to land on his feet. If not, that was hardly Adekos' problem. His crimson blade subsequently snapped to life, the Qixoni crystal fueling his annoyance at the sudden appearance of these inbred clowns.

His eardrums hurt from having to hear that ridiculous little shriek, but that wouldn' stop him from doing what came next.

"What a primal use of the Force." Adekos gestured, focusing his building power into a little something called Electronic Manipulation. "I'm pleased to see the Republic isn't above employing untrained ruffians little better than the Sith to carry out their work. They must be wising up to the true nature of things."

For a moment, nothing happened and it appeared that Darth Adekos had simply gestured fruitlessly at Vulpesen for no particular reason. Then the beeping started. As it would soon dawn on the Zorren that Adekos had taken the time to activate three of the thermal detonators he had been carrying. Fortunately for him, Adekos couldn't simply detonate them on command, but at the very least the Umbaran could prime them. It would be intriguing to see how he dealt with the situation. Two hands? Three thermal detonators ready to explode? All clipped to his belt? Tick. Tock.

He was aware of Alf's presence nearby, and the fact that a green dwarf was sprinting at her, but made no outward move to address the situation.

As with any great Jedi pilot – she was already breaking the chaotic atmosphere.

She maneuvered the XJ-9 passed a group of fighters, banking hard right to avoid incoming blasts from the orbital defenses. She would bank hard left to skim past the Republic dropships that performed a vertical drop suddenly to avoid incoming laser fire that cut between her craft and their own. The chaos in the skies was something she missed, and a grin came to her lips as she shifted the flight stick hard again right, finger caressing the trigger to send a burst of laser fire across the aft of a Coralskipper, fortunately for her – it hadn’t broken the atmosphere yet and made it into space, thus it brought about its own demise.

She brought the ship to the left and gazed out the cockpit to watch it spiral down towards the battlefield below just as the alarms began to ring out – a warning of AA weaponry firing upon her position. She grimaced and quickly brought the vessel up in a vertical climb that caused the engines to groan in protest. The sound of beeping and alarming warbles echoed in her ears as the display translated something across her screen – thank god it wasn’t Rowdy – he would have cut the engines on her in protest.

“I got it Greenie, I got it!” She jerked the stick to the left and rolled hard as a missile shot by the underbelly of the X-Wing, her left hand reaching down to deploy flares. In a rather explosive display of colors and radiance, they spread across the sky behind her, attracting the anti-aircraft missiles to detonate harmlessly. She continued to roll her ship to the left, and pushed it the flight stick down, shifting it into a vertical dive.

“The spaceport is just up ahead…” She said with a smirk on her face, ignoring the protests of the green R7 astromech positioned behind her. Luckily, again, Rowdy wasn’t with her – no, he had taken her personal effects and her YT-2400 and went back home, hopefully to wait for her return.

When the little ewok from hell jumped up and headed for Vulpesen, Gherron was at a loss for words. They were supposed to be little cuddly teddybears, not wicked Sith furballs. Oh, well then. Before Gherron could stand with his friend and fight the ewok together, the man beside him let loose an ear-splitting howl, like none he'd ever heard before. Cupping his hands to his ears, he waited it out before asking, "Dude, was that really necessary? You put a new meaning to 'talking someone's ears off'." Apparently it was a bit much for Alexandra, as she had taken off right as the howling had split open the air. Shaking it off, he readied himself with his lightsaber, staying by the fox-man. "Doesn't this seem familiar?", he joked, referencing their first time in battle when they'd taken on the Sith together. "Let's do this."

Kian touched down on the ground, rolling to take up the impact, and came up surrounded by the small task force under his command. While they had jumped a decent distance away from the spaceport for security sake, they still hadn’t managed to avoid the automatic defense turrets. Two of the shuttles exploded shortly after they had jumped and it took several of the EMBU droids with them.

“Let’s move!” Kian said into the comm on his helmet, transmitting to the task force and to [member="Ayden Quell"] and @Rael sul B’an, the two Jedi accompanying him. This group was capable of handling themselves in the fight….but that wasn’t what they were meant to do. At least not right away.

Instead they moved through the city, keeping out of sight as best they could, avoiding resistance until they came to the spaceport. It wouldn’t take them long. The hard part would be to gain access to the spaceport unnoticed. Prakith was a world designed to avoid invasions…..a world designed to be impenetrable and Kian was sure the spaceport would have all the makings of a port on a highly defensible world.

“We’re almost there. You two ready?” Kian asked to Rael and Ayden.

They said an army ran on its stomach. Food, supplies, ammunition, and bare necessities were always essential things to a soldier. Often times, when a Republic soldier went into battle, there were around seven or eight logistics personnel ensuring that he had all of his needed equipment to live life as comfortably as possible - and make it even worse for the enemy. Such came the perks with being able to quickly establish a Forward Operating Base. Over forty thousand personnel had been assembled, including the infantry, and had been entrenching this position since the first moment they touched this sullen rock.

Fortified walls were set in place, temporary tents had been erected, and supplies were being shuttled down the lines of operations with gusto. While only a short two thousand infantrymen had laid down their lives for the Republic in the breeding grounds, their brothers back at the FOB did not spend their time mourning over lost comrades. Instead, they began digging trenches, setting up machine gun positions, anti-air emplacements, and anti-vehicle projectile launchers. The base was rectangular in shape and the twelve foot walls were littered with an array of anti-personnel cannons and Republic marines scanned every direction as far as the eye could see. However, those walls wouldn't last forever. They were meant to be temporary ones and would never be able to absorb direct impacts or hordes of charging foes.

"There's nothing else we can do." Scott shook his head at the helmet cams of his infantrymen engaging Yuuzhan Vong warriors and Sithspawn in close combat. For every Sithspawn laid to rest, four or five marines paid the ultimate sacrifice. Only two companies were what was left of those two thousand combat ready men - and it was miraculous that even those two hundred men had managed to survive. Intel reported that they were in the rear and had successfully climbed high enough on craggy rock faces and terraces so that they may fight to the last breath. But Broken Arrow had already been radioed in and their ammunition was being spent to ensure that not a single Sithspawn made it out of this Hellhole of a pit.

Captain Finch rubbed his eyes and looked towards another screen, praying that something more promising was afoot. "Master Lan," he narrated as the green-clad man's camera shook with movement. All personnel had been issued these mobile combat cameras that were durable enough to face war, long lasting to ensure everything was recorded, and small enough that the enemy needed to search thoroughly to discover them. Lan's was simply pecked upon his chest, which happened to be focused upon the backs of several Republic commandos as they shouted "Go, go, go!" and threw themselves out of a gunship before it heaved a mechanical groan and drifted backwards. Lan must've grunted in pain or something, because he was getting off the ground now, shouting orders at the commandos before rushing into the Citadel's mid-way landing zone.

"Go get 'em, Lan. I'll see you when you get back."

(OOC Reminder: Doing the Laminanium challenge with Scott and Lan. If you need clarification for any of Lan's actions, feel free to PM me at any time and we'll get it sorted.)

"M-minna..." "Oh? Funny you say that since the sith were the last people to have my services. As for untrained ruffians, which of us had to pull the fr ball awake from being a cloud of hair?" He grinned and swirled his saber staff in his hand just before starting to pace before the darth. "And your little toys there, you'll find you're gonna have to try better than that. Unless of course you plan on blowing yourself up as well." He kept a slight bend in his legs during his pacing, prepared to take to the air at any moment. He knew nothing about this man but he could sense quite a bit of power from him. Never the sort to casually underestimate, he decided to keep an eye on the man's detonators in case he decided to unleash them. As for his own attack, Vulpesen decided to slide a hand up his sleeve, focusing the force into a small piece of steel that rested against his palm. "Gherron, I suggest you keep your guard up. Korr kept pace with Quinn, the cool metal of the stun cuffs cinched tight around his wrists. Her fingers dug into his sleeve, warm through the rough fabric. Ryan’s heart thrummed in his chest as two guards fell in on either side to escort them through the citadel. Still immersed in the flow of the white current, he felt strange ripples at their approach. One of the Sith shimmered, radiant beneath a veil that hid blue hair and strong, swarthy features.

The Jedi Knight frowned, but did not speak at what he saw, or what he felt.

Now we are three.
