The second line was hit first. Walker 15 was hit with the brunt of the beginning salvos; its SSP-SIXTUS shields soaking up the damage, but completely knocking it backward throwing off its firing arcs as it let loose its Tane-Class High Explosive Shells into the air harmlessly only to explode when they landed miles away. Then all hell broke loose as their hidden enemies caused a cascade of fire into the battalion in front of Rorsch's command Xerxes.

Then, large turbolaser blasts from the enemy's Griffins assaulted his first line of walkers. Being the lightest shielded amongst Rorsch's walkers, they suffered the most from being in a kill box and taking the brunt of the enemy's fire.

"We've walked right into a kill box. It feels like they're hitting us with freighters. What do you want us to do?"

"All walkers switch to thermal imaging, assault walkers..." Rorsch stopped in the middle of his sentence, the feeling of vertigo setting in and his vision zooming out. His precognition was kicking in, he foresaw the rockets incoming. "Xerxes! Chaff then Seekers!!"

All three Xerxes launched their chaff countermeasures mere seconds before the ion rockets would've impacted, sending some flying in opposite directions, one even hitting a besh cohort following behind the line of Xerxes. Quickly following his orders, the crews of the Xerxes' fired their warhead seekers after causing their CHOMP rockets to do minimal damage to their shields, if they weren't destroyed by the seekers.

After taking a second Rorsch continued, "Assault walkers, show the enemy your speed, break them. Storm walkers, front to the enemy and march forward in three groups. Shells and mass drivers for vehicles, firestorm for infantry, I want them to burn. Cohorts and troopers create a defensive circle in the middle, support Valgor."

The assault walkers began to use their impressive speed to duck and dodge incoming fire after being hit with that surprise attack, pushing toward the enemy lines in front of them using their beam and laser cannons to target anything considered hostile. The storm walkers formed into three groups of five and began pushing toward each side of the kill box, some using mass drivers on the vehicles and others using incendiary firestorm rounds on the infantry. The cohorts reversed into a circle to protect the infantry while the stormtroopers took positions behind the cohorts letting a few bolts fly in the direction of the TAC aggressors whenever there was a slight break in the overwhelming suppressive fire.

After giving his orders to the rest of his men currently in the heavier firefight he looked at his command console, "Do we know where those rockets came from?"

"Working on it now sir." a crew member responded.

Rorsch thought about everything for a second, then responded, "Never mind. Load baradium warheads. Target the pillboxes. Two missiles from each Xerxes and we keep pushing forward, cohorts follow at a distance. All guns. Fire."

The impressive weaponry of the Xerxes began firing off at the TAC soldiers. The boom of the Tane-Class echoed through the trees; the sound of rotary blaster fire and beam cannons followed closely behind. Each Xerxes opened two of its vertical missile bays launching a total of six baradium-tipped warheads up into the air and directly down on the top of the pillboxes, similar to the CHOMP missiles launched at them earlier.

Rorcsh would press a button on his console once his Xerxes reached a good distance into the fighting. Beginning an encrypted comm to every imperial soldier near him, "All Imperial soldiers, reduce aural amplification to null." Then the war horn starts, signaling the use of the Xerxes' ultrasonic disruptor in a mere eighteen seconds. Rorsch turns off the hearing in his helmet, and so do the members of his walker.

Everything goes silent, a moment before a high-pitched frequency rings out from Brutal-One.

Walkers take hits from the surprise attack.

Rorsch using precognition, senses the impending rocket attack and causes the Xerxes to save themselves this time.

Assault Walkers are trying to break through a section of the kill box using their speed.

Storm walkers split into three groups of five and march toward each side of the kill box, firing into it.

Xerxes' move forward firing all weapons. Specifically launching a total of six baradium missiles at the TAC pillboxes.

Xerxes' uses the war horn to signal and then uses the ultrasonic disruptor.

"Our revenge will be achieved-- not through subjugation-- but by contagion."

The Tales of the Rule of Two;
A collaborative storytelling project written by the writers of the Order of the Sith Lords in conjunction with the Empire of the Lost;
Writing on behalf of the Empire in, "The Rim War: Revenge of the Empire".

Prologue:
The Survivor of Tion

banner.webp

The year is 902 ABY.

At the turn of the ninth century the devious Eggman-- Velran Kilran-- elevated an unknown figure to the upper echelons of the Empire of the Lost and named them Staff Director of the New Imperial Security Bureau.

They were Alicia Drey.

During the Siege of Tion the late Director saved a lone Tionese warrior from the Fate of Tion.

They are Fùchóu Zhī Shén.

Together they conspired to bring about the Tionese Reformation: a political movement that would see the Eggman displaced and then replaced by the rightful heirs to the Tion Cluster in the image of their own Tionic Empire.

The movement has failed for the
Fifth Wing works in the mysterious dark. . . plotting.

But what of Shén, and his people?

Enter the lone warrior on the planet Maldra IV: in service to an Empire who failed to protect his homeland;
and the Machiavellian
Her-- woven into the tapestry of the Sith'ari, Darth Bane-- who follows in the footsteps of her predecessors;
in a place whose people
silenced themselves in fear of the old Bryn'adul.

Coded for transmission to Fùchóu Zhī Shén on the planet Voss.

To Fùchóu Zhī Shén of Tion,
survivor of the Fall of Tion,

It has been 178 days since the Sith attacked your homeland. Your movement to reform the Empire has failed. The Tionese people remain scattered throughout the star systems of the lost wanting to return to a place which no longer exists. Sith hegemony looks set to retake the stars and with it the people that you have failed to protect. Only a strong Empire-- undivided, and resolute-- can stand in their way.

Through the mercy of Moff Maldor Mecetti have you and your remaining dissidents not faced the wrath of the NISB. But time wanes, and so too does the merciful touch of the heir to Obulette. Casteban's son may yet finish what the late Director started. Stygeon Prime could be a place you next call home.

You are hereby conscripted into the ranks of the Imperial Immortals effective immediately. Report to Landra and await further instructions. In you Drey saw salvation for the Tionese in these dark times, but I see you for what you are.

Redemption may yet find you on Maldra 4.

"Gather your people on Voss."
-- Alicia Drey to Fùchóu Zhī Shén on board the Initium during the Fate of Tion.

Equipment: x2 Vibroblade; x1 Pseudosonic Beam Pistol; x1 Pseudosonic Beam Rifle; x1 Cross Cryo Projector; Electromesh suit.
Objective I: The Nest.
Forces: One solitary member of the Imperial Immortals.
Location: On board one Black Osprey.

Do you even know where you are?

The Black Osprey shakes violently on course for Maldra IV as the Nest repels the encroaching Imperial forces set to turn this dead world into a hot bed of contest. But the Ósýnilegt does it's work well for all those shells, and artillery fire are meant for someone else. Indeed, the Fifth Wing has embedded itself well into the ranks of the New Imperial Security Bureau and it's Imperial Immortals. Unwilling-- unbeknownst-- a survivor of Tion finds himself embedded deep into the web of Her set to perform a task he does not understand.

Duty called him, and he found it all wanting. But what choice did he have when the last of his people were at the mercy of an Imperial Moff?

As the ship's engines purred and groaned under the strain of flight Fùchóu lowered his rough hand into the folds of his suit to produce the report. It was becoming something of a routine ritual now. In those moments of alone time-- in the realms of solitude, where his only company was the weight of his failure-- he at least had this. It gave him no relief, or even the temporary sensation of not feeling so alone. But it was all that he had left of the dream: the rise of a Tionic Empire built out of the ashes of Tion's fall to crush the Sith Holy Worlds concealed within the realms of the Stygian Caldera.

How he longed to wrap his hands around the neck of the Dark Lord who destroyed everything.

S T A T E M E N T:

The Staff Director of the New Imperial Security Bureau was found dead this morning in her apartment located in the Capital City upon the planet Lianna. Alicia Drey Alicia Drey was 31 years of age at the time of her death, and a recent appointment to the premiere role within the Empire of the Lost's security and intelligence branch. Her death coincides with the escalating conflict between the Empire and the Sith Order vassal state colloquially known to some as the Sith Holy Worlds and the formation of the Tingle Arm Coalition.

Director Drey was recently tried and acquitted in a closed court by His Imperial Majesty and Ruler Of All Imperial Kind
Velran Kilran Velran Kilran for acts of sedition and treason following the Siege of Tion which saw the destruction of the planet Tion as the Sith made their first strike against the Empire following the Battle of Felucia. During her time as the head of the New Imperial Security Bureau Director Drey was the founder and creator of the Direct Surveillance of Domestic Threats: an intelligence asset designed by the late Director that was leaked following the conclusion of the Fall of Tion. The DSDT Initiative is thought to be surveying over thirty star systems located across the Empire of the Lost leading to increased scrutiny and debate among Imperial circles regarding the current administration acting under the rule of Emperor Kilran following his succession and subsequent elevation to Ruler Of All Imperial Kind after the assassination of Aculia Voland: founder of the Empire of the Lost and speculated to have been the victim of an assassination by the hand of Darth Malum of House Marr Darth Malum of House Marr and his Tsis'Kaar.

There was no will discovered in the aftermath of the late Director's death. The circumstances of her death have yet to be determined but media outlets located within the Imperium speculate that Director Drey is the latest victim of the Tsis'Kaar.

Posted: 103 days ago by Imperial media outlets.

Gather your people on Voss.

That had been the last thing the Director had said to him. They had stood there together and watched as Carnifex rained fire upon Tion. None of it made sense. Why would the Sith invade his world out of all of the systems that the Empire held in the first place? There had been nothing on Tion worth taking. Not the oceans, the fertile soil, or the people who had lived there. Yet they had come anyway, and in their victory, they destroyed an entire world.

Unlike Maldra IV-- whose people's cries were never heard-- the screams of the Tionese had etched themselves across the territories of the lost. Not one Imperial alive did not know of the anguish of the survivors of Tion. But the Empire is insidious. Corrupted; and the NISB were quick. Decisive. Efficient. In the wake of the Director's death they had moved through every city, every ship, and every room extinguishing the voices of the Tionese until the screaming stopped. It appeared that whomever replaced the late Alicia Drey did not share her vision of a Tion redemption. If not for the encampment on Voss then the last traces of the Tionese Reformation movement would have been wiped out by now.

Then came the message written by a ghost with a veiled threat which Fùchóu understood all too well:

Do what we say, or you are next.

So now came the Nest and the defence of the Tingel Arm Coalition: a rebellion made up of dissidents from outer lying star systems outside of the borders of the Empire whom shared the same goals to stop their worlds falling into the hands of the lost and in turn sought the liberation of occupied worlds taken under the invasion of the Imperial hand.

Indeed, the lone survivor shared many sympathies with the Jedi and other heroes who had formed their own movement against the Empire.

But his people came first.

Folding away the report into his suit Fùchóu lowered himself down to the ground in prayer as he prepared himself for this most audacious task. He would be alone on this dead world but he had become used to that.

"The Bryn'adul were a confederation of aliens who ravaged the Tion Cluster. As the One Sith pursued their victory over the Old Republic in the Core Worlds I turned my gaze towards the Outer Rim Territories in pursuit of new work. Exiled by Krest I found solace in the creed spoken by the Draelvasier. Indeed, weakness is a cancer. . ."
-- Darth Ayra the Afflicted's lesson about the Bryn'adul presented by the Gatekeeper of her Sith Holocron on Kalist VI.

Equipment: x1 Lightsaber.
Objective I: The Nest.
Forces: N/A.
Location: Planetside on Maldra IV near the Nest.

The Tion Cluster has seen many different cultures pass through it throughout the eons.

First founded by Xim's Empire over twenty millennia ago it has seen the rise and fall of civilizations since the dissolution of Xim the Despot's domain. At the height of the Galactic Republic the Jedi founded their science station at Nespis VIII which still remains in the present day. In that time between then and now it has seen the rise and fall of Palpatine's First Galactic Empire; the Four-Hundred Year Darkness sparked by the terrorist Zero and his Gulag Plague; the mysterious race of Humanoids colloquially known to some as the Builders, who are said to have built Childhood some four centuries ago; the reign of Darth Carnifex and His Tenth Sith Empire; and now the heirs to Palpatine's throne in the form of the Empire of the Lost who are besieged at all sides by the Sith vassal state to their north, and the Tingel Arm Coalition to the south.

Unbeknown to all of them-- when the Bryn'adul were known to some as simply the Horde, and when they were first building the foundations to their path of destruction across the Outer Rim Territories-- the Rule of Two had been there quietly providing them currency, weapons and information under the disguise of Emeritus Industries: a corporation then reformed out of Subach-Innes of the First Sith Empire founded by the Sith Lord Darth Pandeima and her apprentice Darth Ayra.

That had been over fifty-years ago and a lot had changed since then. But the Silence of Maldra IV still persisted. Indeed, the world was strong with the dark side and with it the legacy of the Bryn'adul had been forever etched into it's soil. Imagine being so formidable-- so vicious, and dark-- that an entire people would rather take their own lives rather than bear the weight of a Bryn'adul invasion? Her appreciated this and nodded in thanks to the work of her predecessors.

But that was then, and this was now.

Maldra IV was alive again. Caught in the battle zone of a war between the Empire and the Rebellion.

Like the tales of Old.

At the turn of the ninth century the New Imperial Security Bureau had been infiltrated by a sect of Sith known to some as the Tsis'Kaar who, under the leader of Darth Malum of House Marr, sought to expand his influence throughout the Empire of the Lost in the wake of the Siege of Tion: a battle between the lost and Sith which resulted in the destruction of an star system. After murdering the late Staff Director (who he had been previously colluding with) Malum sought to consolidate his asset-- the Fifth Wing-- by eliminating those who posed a threat to him and his machinations.

There would be no room for a Tionese Reformation when the purpose of the Fifth Wing was to restore Sith hegemony to the Tion Cluster. No doubt Strosius would have approved in these works for the remnants of the Tenth Sith Empire lingered in the dark waiting to restore what He had lost.

So a lone survivor of Tion was sent on a mission by a ghost and forced into action in service of the Dark Lords who had cost him so much.

Ironic.

"Through destruction we breed creation," Her echoed Mendacium's sentiment to herself as she followed the work of
Fùchóu Zhī Shén Fùchóu Zhī Shén as he approached the Nest. In the backdrop of the battle-- as the Imperials and Rebels fought one another upon this dead world-- a Sith Lord hid within the confines of the Ufo: thought to be the last remaining ship of the ancient Builders whom succumbed to Zero's weapon over four hundred years ago.

Under the disguise of conflict the machinations of the Rule of Two continued to wreck havoc upon the Tingel Arm and the surrounding sectors here in the Outer Rim Territories just as it had been during the time of Pandeima and Ayra's time as master and apprentice.

Hard Contact...
Ye6kiyb.png

It was supposed to be a simple plan, drop on top of the enemy fortification known as "The Nest", infiltrate it and break the enemy inside their own walls. But even though every military tactician and strategist, alive or dead, knows, no plan survives contact with the enemy. This plan didn't just "not survive", but it burnt up and was reduced to ash in the mouths of all involved, as the artifact that the TAC had just used in orbit sent every Drop Pod in a death spiral that a over half would never recover from...

The first 4 Drop Pods did not reactivate in time to slow their descent, splattering themselves and the 24 Paragons within them against the continental-class shield generator that the defenders had used to cover their base
The rest, while making it through, some did not have enough power to maneuver and reorient themselves. Leading to 3 more Pods hurtling to the enemy lines below either upside down or sideways, killing most Paragons within said Pods...

Careening into an enemy pillbox, Pod-7 skipped, tumble then skid behind a TAC trench, partially burying itself into the soft soil. Several TAC soldiers around the area would investigate after the impact, naturally to finish off or capture any survivors of the crash (as it wasn't only the Paragon Corps that used these Pods, but other, unarmored forces would as well).

They did not get the chance, however, as the dust from the recent crash and the smoke billowing from the crushed and sputtering engine obscured the vision of those TAC soldiers present, a low buzzing would rise from within the transportation canister. The buzzing then increased into a growing howl as the pod door was booted open with the violent application of a Power Armored Foot. Sheering the thick metal slab from the bottom hinge and hurtling it into the face of the TAC Soldier on point, and now the growing howl turned into a piercing shriek, as the vibrations of a massive, multi-bladed Vibrosword was now exposed the the open air.

The shock of the sudden, violent sound of sheering metal and the awful crunching sound that came after, could hardly set in, before the bearer of the shrieking sword began to move with a burst of aggressive speed. The TAC soldiers could only see a hulking, blurry figure move through the dust with a loud thump as it launch itself from it's Composite Metal coffin onto the ground. The shriek would then turn into a spine-chilling scream as soared through the murky air and connected with the torso of the TAC soldier to the immediate right of where the point man stood, sheering him in half as if he were made of paper.

The man behind him, a Weequay, was only half way to fully raising his blaster rifle, before the figure in the dust reached out with a Power armored hand and grabbed him by his leathery face. And with a single violent twist of their body and swing of their arm, the figure flung the TAC trooper at the pod that spawned it, like a reckless child would with a cloth doll. Breaking the bones and flaying the flesh off of the Soldier's body across it's metal frame.

The horrifying violence of the last few moments would then, finally, register with the fourth and final TAC soldier that came to investigate that crashed pod, they did not get the chance to even begin to run. As the moment he turned away from his comrades' killer, a single shot rang out and a pitch-black Bolt of energy would connect with the back of their neck. Vaporizing flesh and bone in a so fast, that the Trooper's head would fly from it's neckless torso from the micro-explosion.

This would be the fate of the TAC Fireteam that would make first contact with CC-22849, otherwise known as "Zealot" by those Paragons under his Command. Similar scenes were playing out on the battlefield around the Clone Commander, just on a bigger scale. As surviving Paragons, either in small teams or as lone survivors, would break out from their cages and began a rage-fueled path of mechanized butchery towards their main objective, the Nest. And after such a disastrous arrival, if this was not done out of a grim loyalty to their cause, it would be merely a direction to guide their hate towards

Severon advanced at the head of his men as they maneuvered through dense jungle, pressing into any cover they could find. Their shadows streamed across the thick foliage as they neared the smoke line, at which point his troops activated their thermal optics. A loud yell moved down the line, a soldier had spotted the enemy, but before anyone could fire, the enemy launched an explosive barrage of grenades and heavy cannon fire.

The thunder of detonations shook the air and ground alike, sending shockwaves that rattled armor and snapped branches. Hastam squads retreated slightly to preserve their numbers for when they reached the enemy base. One of Severon's Scutum, carrying a large shield, took position directly in front of him just as a grenade impacted. The ensuing explosion wrapped around the shield and shattered the soldier's armor, claiming his life instantly. Severon pressed on, loss was the currency of war, and the toll had only begun.

The terrain did well at absorbing some of the blast impacts, but the relentless enemy fire continued, with fortified pillboxes and concealed vehicles pounding Severon's forces. Soon, the heat radiating from the cannons of their vehicles revealed their positions. In response, the Serpens squads emerged briefly, firing rockets at the enemy vehicles before ducking back into cover. Several Serpens fell, two were killed instantly, their launchers were quickly being picked up by others, as the rockets streaked towards nothing. Hitting trees, sending splintered wood flying, while most were traveling towards the enemy.

Severon moved forward, his armor deflecting rounds that occasionally found him. He reached cover, only to be approached by a soldier who had darted from tree to tree. "Primarch, squad lead says the pillboxes are holding us back. We need heavy fire support to break through."

Severon signaled to a nearby radio operator. "Tell our allies to target the encampments. Tell them to rain fire upon them." The original soldier nodding and running back, a blaster bolt killing him before he could reach the next cover spot.

As the radio call went out, rockets from the rear flew above, towards the enemy positions. The war horn sounded in the background as his troops continued their forward push. They crept through the jungle, using every fallen log, boulder, and incline as cover. Bodies began to pile up as the slow, methodical advance pressed on. Each time the smoke dissipated, a mortar round would replenish the veil, shrouding the field in yet another layer of gray as Severon's forces pressed toward their target.

5O30feG.png

Actions:
Engaged thermals before reaching smoke [see equipment special features], mitigating any ambush, but lost first strike priority.
Eighteen rockets from the rocket squads were fired [ten squads of five men, two rockets per team]
  • Eight rockets at the Puma's engaging them.
    • Five targeting their cannons
    • Three targeting their rocket pods.
      • Attempting to have an ammo rack detonation.
  • Eight rockets at the Griffin's engaging them.
    • Eight targeting the inside of their cannons.
  • Two fly wildly off [see thread for reason].
Returning fire, obviously.
Any injured enemies that the Legio can get will be executed [if they are captured or are off-sides and found]
Hastam retreats, preventing losses, and waits.
Soldiers are using leapfrog tactics to advance, with varying degrees of success.
Moral loss due to losses.
Replenish smoke screen.

Losses:
2nd Pedites - 20 [10%]
52nd Serpen - 4 [8%]
38th Hastan - 0 [0%]
91st Scutum - 4 [8%]

How losses were determined:
Due to losing first attack priority I used a 1d10 and would use the number as a percentage.
If ambush/caught off guard was successful [see actions for why it wasn't] it would double.
Future rolls will be a 1d6.
Pointless actions will have doubled damage [ex. bayonet charging onto a machine gun nest].
Percentage will be taken from initial numbers until half when it will be taken from half [due to less targets].

Moral System:
If moral reaches 0 all men in the company will route.

Captain La'das Beiran's voice crackled through the comms, met with silence from those he had hailed. He understood all too well that the battle had already ignited, flames of chaos licking at the edges of their defenses. With a grimace, he barked orders to the Coalition infantry hunkered down along the front lines, the incessant flood of reports testing the limits of his patience as he cursed under his breath. He pivoted toward Lieutenant Ewan Whitley, a seasoned veteran of armored warfare, his expression fierce and resolute. "Whitley, gather the Bobcats, Tigers, and Speeders. Move to the rear entrance of the Nest and reinforce our flank," he commanded, his voice cutting through the cacophony of blaster fire overhead with unwavering authority.

The ground trembled as Imperial armored vehicles thundered across the battlefield, unleashing a punishing barrage that rained down upon the Coalition's defenses. Their formidable plating allowed them to press forward relentlessly, breaking through enemy lines and carving paths for the infantry to follow. Coordinated assaults with ground troops surged into contested zones, each advance a calculated strike that solidified their foothold and asserted their dominance.

In response, Coalition Forces rallied with fierce determination, launching waves of ground troops to defend critical positions. They maneuvered through the rugged terrain with agility, laying traps and employing specialized weaponry to target the vulnerable points of Imperial armor, stalling the enemy's relentless advance. Each soldier fought with unyielding resolve, executing well-coordinated defenses that capitalized on every advantage to hold their ground against the Imperial onslaught.

As Captain Beiran's orders echoed in the chaos, Balun Dashiell surged forward, his voice slicing through the din. "I'll help with the rear defense!" he declared sharply, offering Whitley a quick nod before sprinting through the dug-out frontline. He navigated past Coalition infantry, urgency driving him as he made his way around the surface compound toward the eastern entrance, where the Imperials sought to exploit any weakness in the Nest's defenses.

So far, the Imperials had not breached the facility, but in war, uncertainty loomed like a storm cloud. Balun's mind raced with thoughts of what sinister plans they might be concocting to penetrate the underground bunker. Determined to thwart any threat, he was prepared to give everything—his life included—to protect what was at stake. As he ran through the trenches, memories of his family surfaced: Judah and Makai Dashiell, his father and brother, had distanced themselves from warfare in recent years, focusing on corporate pursuits and navigating the murky waters of galactic neutrality. But the call to arms for democracy resonated deeply within Balun, a duty that now overshadowed his corporate aspirations and anchored him firmly in the fight for what was right.

These are your last moments in the Sun.

A transmitter refers to any device that relays data and information to another source. In this particular instance the mission perimeters set to Fùchóu had been simple to comprehend. The briefing on Landra, in the Northwest Outpost of the Direct Surveillance of Domestic Threats (a technological marvel invented by the late
Alicia Drey Alicia Drey which allowed the Empire to monitor and survey the local populaces of over thirty star systems) had been straight forward: infiltrate the base known to the NISB as the Nest and open up a transmission to Lianna once inside.

Boots thudded against the ruined surface of Maldra IV and a Tionese man looked across the landscape appalled by what he bore witness too. According to his handler within the Imperial Immortals (a Police and security force organized by Imperial Moff
Maldor Mecetti Maldor Mecetti to serve under the direction of the late Director Drey) the planet's population had disappeared over night, and to this day, nobody knew why. Some several years before the Second Great Hyperspace War there had been rumours of an intergalactic race of beings who were marching through the regions of Wild Space and into the Outer Rim Territories seeking death and destruction. Fùchóu was old enough to remember those stories but this was the first time he had seen any evidence that, perhaps, those myths and tall tales had some semblance of truth about them.

Lowering himself down into a crouching position Fùchóu placed his rough hands into the dirt and took a cupful of it into his palms to feel it on himself. "May you rest in peace," he muttered to himself in memory of the fallen people of Maldra IV, and, of course, to the Imperials and Rebels caught in the midst of a war. Indeed, since the Sith first emerged from the Stygian Caldera over seventy years ago, the Galaxy had been in a state of turmoil and here was just another example of this. Before he had even been born the Sith had paved their way down through the territories before taking root within the Tion Cluster. While the modern day Imperials claimed to be the antitheist to the Sith-Imperial dichotomy the Empire of the Lost was just one of a long lineage of Imperium that had risen and fallen over the past century caused by their insatiable conquest to own the Stars.

This battle, and the Rebellion which had sparked it, were caused by the Sith.
Lothal, and the late Emperor's annexation of the planet, had just been a by-product of their wars throughout the Cosmos.
He hated them so much.

The Cross Cryo Projector is a weapon invented by the engineer Haon Hafey. According to NISB analysts the weapon is capable of weakening the structural strength to the Nest's habitat module: an area designed to house quarters for personnel to create a home away from home. According to the analysis it speculated that during the battle between the Coalition and the Empire this specific area of the Nest would be less guarded and prioritized in favour of the defense of other areas. This made sense because it's position within the facility, and it's relative importance, was less considered in the favour of other specific areas such as transportation hub, or the base's external landing pads, which were other avenues of entry the analysis explored in the report given to Fùchóu during his briefing on Lianna.

Some hours into the conflict-- as
Balun Dashiell Balun Dashiell launched his defense to the rear of the base-- a stream of cryobeam fired upon the facility wall and the freeze begun to settle in. Fùchóu was not an expert with the weapon, and quite frankly, he had not heard of such a device until it was served to him as he prepared for the mission. According to his handler-- once the weapon cartridge was emptied-- the structural strength of the wall would be weakened to such a degree that Fùchóu should find his way inside through the use of the Vibroblades which hung from his back.

The combined assault of a wall frozen with the ultrasonic vibrations of the pair of swords should create a cavity within the Nest which Fùchóu could then crawl through to enter the habitat module from where he would proceed with his mission to open up a transmission between the facility and the Direct Surveillance of Domestic Threats.

"Frack yeah let's go and hit their flank," Ami said. "I'm eager to bust some heads Buttercup so let's get going!" The Stormtrooper rolled her eyes when Myri attempted to match Ami energy. "That was pretty lame Buttercup no offense," Ami chuckled clutching her blaster rifle. "But you're trying so I respect ya for it!"

Ami approached the tree and shook her head in the process. "Oh you gotta be chitting me," She said seeing Myri already on top of a branch. "I hate climbing trees. Do you agents always have to do things the hard way?"

There were hardly any trees on Ord Mantel, the ones Ami saw when she was a kid were withered and dying making it impossible to climb. She remembered her Dad waxing poetic about seeing trees while on a business trip to Alderaan saying that they were the most beautiful things he'd ever seen. Ami saw them as nothing more than an obstacle. "Trees are too damn high," Ami grumbled grabbing a branch and pulling herself up. "Way too high......"

When she reached the top she pointed her rifle towards the sight lines. "Just point and I'll shoot," Ami grumbled. "If I fall though, this is your fault."

Ami just could never leave good enough alone. She called Myri lame which elicited only a small frown from the young agent. Myri was usually all business, she had no real hope of matching Ami’s exuberance on the battlefield. But she couldn’t act hurt for long. There was a mission to fulfill and she needed to get things going. The shocking thing was that Ami actually gave her credit for trying. Myri wasn’t a “participation trophy” type, but the sideways praise of her effort actually brought a smile to her face before they were pushed into action.

Hearing Ami complain about the tree situation made Myri smile even wider. ”Oh yeah. You troopers do it much smarter. ‘Let’s walk up this trench and get run over by a tank’, or ‘Let’s just shoot our big guns at the other side, who cares that they have big guns too.’ It’s called taking cover, deary. I thought that was in the infantry handbook. Wasn’t it? Us agents are usually taking sniper positions and that means more cover and range between us and our targets. If you feel safer down on the ground I’ll keep you covered.” With anyone else the lecture would have been completely serious and worded almost exactly the same. With Ami there was a slight bit of playfulness in Myri’s voice.

When Ami finally made it up into the perch beside Myri the agent couldn’t help a giggle at the continued bellyaching. ”Too high? I know you don’t mean that you’re not strong enough to lift yourself . Are you saying you’re too heavy? Or are you afraid of dangling up this high without a sturdy vehicle under your feet?” Myri chided in a gleeful tone. This was Ami’s type of mission and yet here the trooper was complaining.

”Them…There…” Myri finally said pointing to the advance of Balun Dashiell Balun Dashiell and whoever was at his back.

ENTER CHAPTER 1.
Location: Lower Troposphere -> Ground - Maldra IV
Objective: Breach the Continental Shield Junction Point Eject
Squadron: Mirage Squadron
Tag: Kharuna Tan Kharuna Tan

The ejection handle loomed large in her vision, and the ground larger still. And yet, it was all Bella could do to keep her mind intact, her eyes frozen open as paralysis held her body in place. In fact, the Baroness would not be the first of the two pilots in Mirage Squadron’s leading fight element to eject. That honor would go to Mirage Three, who had managed to extract herself from the flightless bird that was her starfighter with a poise and strength that Bella did not have.

It dawned on the Baroness then that not once had she even touched an ejection handle, much less pulled on one or tested its weight in her grasp. Her features twitched beneath her helmet’s visor as she regarded the handle and the warning emblazoned on it in bold-face type. She managed to summon the willpower to take off the protective cover. However, for the moment, that was the extent of her strength.

Now, all she had to do was pull it.

Her breathing came heavy with each moment that passed, the sight of the ground encompassing more of her canopy with each wasted second. All the while, a sequence of memories flashed inside her mind—her first time flying an interceptor at the Fleet Academy of the Scintilla, the moment that same model interceptor was shut down by an electromagnetic discharge with her piloting it during her second combat sortie in orbit of Ryloth, her first meeting with Dimitri Linzinsky, her interview with V Val Valerson V Val Valerson , and finally, the moment BB-610 BB-610 had shocked her with his electroprod, the pain and her subsequent embarrassment a raw sensation that immediately caused her brows to rise up her forehead..

Bella took a heavy, gasping breath, then drawing upon all of her strength, she pulled the ejection handle at what might have been the last possible moment before the Jägerin crashed into the ground in a fiery explosion of kinetic energy, heat, and light!

Sayno's men:

The first thing to hit were the rockets. Pillboxes erased off the map. All Sayno could do was watch. Still, the plan held firm. Marines fled into the trees, using built in repulsor gloves and boots to flee into dense foliage. A man swore as he fell 30 stories, only to catch himself with a grapple line. The men regrouped, and reloaded. A second wave of rockets rained down on the assault, Ion missiles aimed at their shields.

Sayno let out a breath. The holdout positions would stay. Those pillboxes he knew wouldn't last. A rocket impacted a Puma ahead of his command walker, still hidden in plain sight, sheering off it's rocket launcher. Several of the other Pumas were able to ward off rockets with Chaff, but one was hit dead on, causing an eruption of flame that lit several nearby trees alight. The remaining ones opened fire on advancing light walkers, switching to rapid fire ion autocannon rounds, trying to wittle down shields, while unleashing hell from their chain-lasers at infantry.

The griffins faired better, quickly retreating by deploying their cryo-ban smoke grenades to mask themselves from sensors, slipping away into dense foliage and retreating.

The thud of those damned mega-walkers kept Sayno on edge. First thing first, they needed to deal with the problem in front of them.

"Starclawe, relaying fire mission coordinates. Fire for effect. HE barrage."

<Copy Starhawk. Incoming in 10 seconds.>

From far behind the line, the plan had been put in motion. Cougars and Pumas rushed forward through the treeline, as two heavy Ion bolts flew overhead, arcing towards the lead Xerces firing from the Tiger Walkers of the Tiger Claw company. Cougars fired from beyond the range of the enemy infantry, opening up with turbolaser bolts at the AT-AWs, while Pumas followed up, first firing Ion TOW missiles at the AT-SWs, then unloading with kinetic slugs, hundreds of them.

They were the distraction. Bobcats and Panthacs quietly pushed in on the flanks, awaiting the pincer. The forest was their friend. Too thick for Thermals to reliably pick up anything further than the 100 yards ahead.

Suddenly, the ten Bobcats of the Iron Men burst from the brush, charging Severon Valgor Severon Valgor 's line with light walkers. Keep the killbox closed, even if it meant sacrificing men.

For the heavy walkers, they could only pray for a miracle.

And as if the heavens had answered, one came.

<THIS IS ASTROCAT 1! WE'VE BEEN SIEZED UP! WE'RE AIMING FOR AN EMERGANCY->

<This is Sayno Clawe, Commander of The Lost Battalion! Astrocat, aim for the enemy walkers!>

<C-copy! For the Coalition!>

A massive Frigate did it's best to turn, aiming it's crashing trajectory right for the formation of three massive Imperial Walkers. Sayno felt the fear that the Sonic Disruptor put into his men. He felt it.

He prayed it wouldn't feel it for much longer.

TL;DR:
Pillboxes are ahhiliated, alongside 1x Puma.
Marines flee into heavy treetops, taking minimal loses.
Sayno calls in x9 mortars, firing HE barrage on Severon Valgor Severon Valgor 's men.
Pumas return fire, switching to autocannon ion rounds.
Griffins flee using cryo-ban smoke grenades as cover to retreat into heavy foliage.
Bobcats of the Iron Men charge forward to disrupt Severon Valgor Severon Valgor 's defensive formation.
Tiger Claw Company pushes forward, using foliage as cover. Cougars engage enemy assualt walkers with turoblasers, while Pumas engage with Ion TOW missiles and kinetic mass driver rounds at Storm Walkers.
Forward Xerces is engaged by x2 Tiger Walkers, opening fire with heavy ion cannons.
Bobcats and Panthacs move stealthfully through the thick forest in pincer movement.
1x Frigate of Aether of the Iron Order Aether of the Iron Order 's former fleet falls from orbit, aiming it's crash landing straight at the x3 Xerces walkers.

Within the Landing Pads of the Nest, a crash could be heard. The sound of Imperial Paragons charging through. What could've been a disasterous overrun, became a harrowing defense.

The 36 men of Deep Purple didn't have the equipment to take on the massive titans, but they tried anyways. Heavy ion rounds aimed for the Paragon armor joints, hoping to immobilize them. One man swung the Ladybug he had been manning around, swooping down and firing the cryo-ban thrower that was normally used on base to put out fires, instead firing on an Imperial Brute to disable the man.

Another charged CC-22849 "Zealot" CC-22849 "Zealot" himself with a Construction Vehicle, hoping to bulldoze the imperial himself.

"FOR THE COALITION!" was all he could yell as the massive pincers of the Stag reached out to grapple, and attempt to throw the massive juggernaut.

TL;DR:
Deep Purple Support Company is attempting to mount a defense against the stranded Imperial Paragons. Firing with Cryoban from Rescue Craft, and stampeding them with construction vehicles.

As the AT-AWs began their charge to break the enemy's kill box, their medium tanks began to unload at them quickly taking out four of the previously damaged ones. After falling whatever crews still survived this onslaught threw a thermal detonator into the hulls to damage their systems beyond repair, not wanting Imperial technology to fall into the hands of the Tingle Arm Coalition.

The commander of the assault walkers screamed over the comms matrix, "All units switch to solarized particle beams, it's time to melt those tanks, push forward!"

The slowly moving lines of storm walkers pushed the enemy's entrenched locations. Walker 15, the one that took the brunt of the surprise attack, began to turn to fire but was hit with several ion TOWs severely crippling their systems and causing them to fall face-first into the trees.

"Walker fifteen is down, all crew alive. Beginning scuttling procedures." the pilot replied setting up several thermal detonators throughout the cabin before exiting, "Withdrawing to cohorts." The walker exploded in a plume of flame behind them.

The other groups kept pushing forward, intent on breaking this box. Group one, the ones pushing behind the assault walkers helped to unload on the TAC Cougars and Pumas, taking damage but holding the line while each walker unleashed a deadly barrage of eleven baradium light missiles into infantry and vehicles. Group two pushed faster than the rest and paid the price for it as two storm walkers were taken out. A loud ping could be heard across the battlefield as a mass driver round fired by a puma hit in the perfect spot to breach its armor and detonate its right gun pod, revealing a decimated crew inside, the walker kept going, but there was no one alive inside. The other took one too many ion TOW to the face causing its systems to crash and its crew to scuttle it.

The lines were pushing forward, but being stuck in the middle of a kill box didn't help any imperial.

At the back of the pack, the Xerxes' heavy artillery thundered lobbing heavy artillery at focused targets. Their secondary weaponry firing fast and hard trying to support Severon Valgor Severon Valgor 's men and his own. Each walker launched their full contingent of eight missiles, a total of twenty-four, at a side of the kill box supporting their storm walkers as they pushed trying to break through.

"Group two hold your push and wait for the next round of missiles from us. Assault Walkers keep pushing forward. Group one, keep supporting. Group three, keep up the pressure." Rorsch kept looking at this tactical map, he was taking losses, it wasn't pretty but more than a few crews were surviving. He needed the Xerxes to find a magical new gear to shift into and move faster, but that was the cost for heavy armor.

The cockpit shuddered as two heavy ion blasts hit Brutal-One. Their heavier walkers revealed themselves. Rorsch pecked at a button on his console, designating one of the two Tigers as the three super-heavy walker's primary target. He could hear the wine of the main turret moving to target.

"Let's return their fire, shall we? Load ion rounds then follow with turbolasers." The Kel Dor said over the communication matrix. The sound of the weapon switching over was like music to his ears. Quickly followed by the thunderous booms of the three Xerxes.

Then a blinding light flashed in the upper atmosphere.

"What the hell was that?" a pilot muttered.

"Do not lose focus, let our fighters and capital ships worry about that."

"
General, I think we may need to worry about it. I think I see capital ships falling from the sky."

Rorsch looked through one of the many cameras placed on the outside of the Xerxes and saw a pair of hasta corvettes crash into one another and begin falling, peppering the battlefield below them with debris. Rorsch's vision began to zoom out as he tried to look up from the screen, vertigo setting in as the screen in front of him showed Brutal-Three being crushed by an enemy corvette.

"Brutal-Three, end operations and get out of your vehicle! Brutals One and Two brace for impact."

"Sir? Why? What impact, that doesn't make any... holy bantha chit. EVERYONE DISMOU.." The commander began to say cutting off as an enemy frigate hit the ground behind them destroying a couple of cohorts and heavily damaging the rest. The rear of the frigate fell right on top of Brutal-Three, sending debris all over and damaging more of Rorsch's Xerxes.

His precognition saved them earlier, but it wasn't fast enough this time.

"We are to keep moving. Brutals One and Turn to the left. Let's give Group Two a much needed assist."

Assault Walkers take some damage and lose 4 walkers, but keep pressing forward switching their beam cannons to solarized particle beams. targeting the Cougars.

Storm Walker Group One supports the AT-AWs while unleashing a total of 55 light baradium missiles at vehicles and infantry (50/50 split).
Group Two loses two walkers and holds position waiting for support.
Group Three loses one walker while keeping the pressure up.

The Xerxes keep moving forward unleashing three heavy ion blasts back at one of the Tigers that fired at Rorsch's walker.

Rorsch gets a vision of destruction and tries to warn the right-most walker before a frigate crashes and destroys it along with several resupply cohorts. This damages Rorsch's walker and all other resupply cohorts.

After the frigate, Rorsch orders the remaining two Xerxes to turn to the left to support Storm Walker Group Two.

Ami was proud of her work as a Stormtrooper and she seen enough of her comrades die to be disrespected like that. Even if those remarks came from her best friend. Funny, Ami would never think that she would have a best friend. Most of her friends either died or just became one night stands. It felt good to have someone reliable.

"Keep talking Buttercup or I'll rip a stick from the Tree and shove it up your you know what," Ami said pointing her scope towards the battlefield. "Three guesses on what I'll be aiming for."

The Stormtrooper got the Balun Dashiell Balun Dashiell in her sights. "You got it Buttercup," Ami sighed might as well get the fun started. Ami kept her breath still and fired on the man the blaster bolt hurling towards him.

The ground was quickly approaching, but Kharuna was focused on Bella’s fighter. Without instruments the Nautolan pilot extended her senses through the Force to judge just how long she could hold out. ”Bail out Miracle. Bail out…” she pleaded. Kharuna didn’t want to make the first move, but she sensed how close the ground was getting and forced herself to pull the manual ejection. The Force was used to make her landing as comforting as possible. But there was still no sign that Bella had made it clear of her fighter.

The entire descent, Kharuna had watched Jägerin plunge towards the ground, ultimately meeting it with a plume of smoke and loud explosion. ”NOOOO!!!” Kharuna called out as loud as she had ever yelled. As soon as her feet could take to the ground she started running off in direction of Bella’s fighter. Her own fighter was a stock Sestina, not exactly a small loss, but nothing with personal connection. There would be a new fighter for Kharuna when the next mission came to be.

As she ran through blurry terrain Kharuna noticed that the comm in her helmet inexplicably came to life with a loud sound of static. ”Mirage squadron. Check in…” Kharuna was used to being the leader so stepping on Bella’s toes would be something she could ask for forgiveness for later if and when they met. There was no response. Just continued static. Kharuna continued running towards the wreckage of Jägerin.

Then the static cleared and there was just silence and the sound of Kharuna’s hurried breath. A couple wings checked in. None were Bella so Kharuna didn’t even distinguish callsigns. She was relieved she was not the only survivor, but her heart was still pounding, waiting for… There was a low groan in the comm. ”That was some ride. Let’s not do that again.”

Kharuna sighed in relief hearing the Baroness’ voice. ”Stay where you’re at Miracle One. I’m on my way to you. We’ve got comms back, so we’ll find a ride to get checked out…”

The Empire of the Lost vs. The Tingel Arm Coalition;

Objective I: A tale within the Nest.

"Redemption may yet find you on Maldra 4."
-- Her's message to Fùchóu Zhī Shén through the Direct Surveillance of Domestic Threats.

Equipment: x2 Vibroblade; x1 Pseudosonic Beam Pistol; x1 Pseudosonic Beam Rifle; x1 Cross Cryo Projector; Electromesh suit.
Objective I: The Nest.
Forces: One solitary member of the Imperial Immortals.
Location: Planet side. Approaching the Nest.

I still remember your face.

The Cryobeam died suddenly, and with it the air was foggy, and eerily cold. Sweat caught the Tionese by his brow, and with a heave did Fùchóu discard it into the dirt. A pair of gloved hands raised themselves to his back, and there he summoned the two Vibroblades in front of him. With a stabbing motion he plunged the blades into the frozen wall, and activated the weapons so that they could begin slicing through the frozen permacrete.

"What a disgusting weapon," Fùchóu muttered about the Cross Cryo Projector. Only the New Imperial Security Bureau would have access to such a weapon, and only they would have the guile to put it into his hands. He had been a farmer before the Sith had come to Tion. Specialising in fish he had, in the weeks before the Malsheem had blotted out the sky, considered applying to join the Drey Corporation on Ruisto after hearing about the better pay. Now, here he was, on some suicide run performing a mission he did not entirely understand.

Life comes at you fast.

The blades hit a hard point in the rock, and could not go anywhere. With another heavy heave Fùchóu extracted them from the permacrete and swore to himself. So, the NISB were not infallible. Yes, whoever was handling this mission had kept in mind that using a heavier weapon, or an explosive, would give away his position to the enemy at a time when they would be distracted by the Imperial assault. But they had severely underestimated the Nest and it's defenses. The Cryobeam had got him at least half-way through the wall, but there was still a long way to go.

Deactivating the blades Fùchóu lowered himself to the ground and replaced them on his back. His mind raced with the possibilities. First he took out the Beam Pistol on his hip and scanned around to see if anyone were near him. He wasn't a soldier. A good fighter? Certainly by Tionese standards. If anyone from the Rebellion were close by he would have been killed by now. Paranoia had to be put aside. So, his mind turned to the obvious conundrum. How else to finish getting through?

Fùchóu turned his gaze to the battle. Flashing strobing lights unlike those from Lianna City were dancing in the air. He hated the Imperials for putting him here. For the late Emperor goading the Sith Empire into retaliation after Felucia, and for provoking the formation of the Tingel Arm Coalition after Lothal. But they had a use here. Perhaps he could sneak his way around the base, and find some type of ordnance to break the wall down?

No. That wouldn't work neither. After all the mission briefing had been clear. He was to use the Cross Cryo Projector because the nearby noise of the battle would overshadow the ones caused by the weapon, and secondly, because an ordnance would attract the attention of the enemy. This was a clandestine mission. Not an assault on the base. It brought back the questions he had asked himself during that two week voyage from Voss to Lianna to sign up to the Imperial Immortals: why him? He wasn't trained for this.

"Ahhhh!" Fùchóu snarled in frustration as he whipped the blades back out and begun hammering away at the frozen permacrete. But it still would not relent: the freeze had not bitten through to the innards of the wall. Frustration turned to doubt, and then to fear. What if he had failed the mission? Would the NISB understand that this was their fault for not giving him the better means of infiltrating the base? That he was a mere farmer, and not the elite fighting force, of which they had forced him to join without training?

That was when he heard it.

SNAP-HISS!

Jumping around with his blades in tow Fùchóu prepared to face the Jedi. In the briefing the NISB had explained that the Tingel Arm Coalition had recruited half-a-dozen rogue Jedi Knights who had signed up to free Lothal, and the other star systems, that the Eggman had taken in his pursuit for power, and restoration of the Galactic Empire. He knew it was suicide. The Jedi were legendary guardians of the Force, and even their tales had reached the Outer Rim Territories. He would be no match. But, perhaps, his valiant last stand would be enough to protect his people back on Voss from NISB retaliation. That he would satisfy the Moff whom had, allegedly, kept them from finishing the last traces of the Tionese Reformation Movement.

But it was not a Jedi.

It was a Sith.

Fùchóu snarled, and rage took him. Raising his blades away his head he charged at the hooded woman before him. It was not Carnifex, that was for sure. But this would suffice. The start of his revenge against the Sith Order would begin here on Maldra IV. He would not do it for himself but for Tion who burned so brightly in the red beams of the Malsheem on the last day of the World.

-- Darth Mendacium the Betrayer.

Equipment: x1 Lightsaber.
Objective I: The Nest.
Forces: N/A.
Location: Planetside on Maldra IV entering the Nest.

Beneath Kalist IV's star-- when it had been at it's highest point, in the day, where life could not exist-- Her had learned the most valuable lesson taught to her by the Betrayer. It had gone like this:

A Master never reveals him, or herself.

In that lesson Her had learned much from the the Nomad and that logic had been put into place with the formation of the Fifth Wing: a branch of the Tsis'Kaar-- led by Darth Malum of House Marr Darth Malum of House Marr , and founded by the late Dark Lady of the Sith, Darth Ophidia Darth Ophidia -- which infiltrated the the Empire of the Lost to reform it into back into the original paradigm that had owned the Tion Cluster in the years following the demise of the One Sith in a time when Darth Carnifex Darth Carnifex had ruled from Lianna as the Dark Lord of the Sith.

Malum could not have done it alone, and quite frankly, it had not been his idea. In the form of Alicia Drey Alicia Drey a conspiracy had taken root within the Empire when she first appeared carrying the alias of the late Darth Ayra Darth Ayra and from there a branch of the Tsis'Kaar had begun to flourish under the nose of the Eggman and his Moffs. Inexplicably, without warning, the Director had tried to save the Imperials from the wrath of Darth Empyrean Darth Empyrean after infiltrating the Corpse Emperor's war cabinet aboard the Mors Mon, and in turn, provoked him into attacking Tion.

Thousands of Imperial and Sith lives spent in the Imperial war machines; millions of Tionese murdered in the spectacle of the Malsheem as Carnifex wrote his Fall of Tion with red beams, and glistening lights; and an Empire plunged into chaos which saw the formation of the Tingel Arm Coalition set to free the People from the Imperial strongholds that had taken root on their worlds.

All because of a vendetta carried out by a relic of a bygone era. A Knight of the Republic that had been lost to time, and subsequently freed by the Dark-Imperials in the Core, to wreck havoc and destruction on the schemes of greater men.

Their name was not Alicia Drey.
It had been Ella Nova.
Her weapon in the dark to bring about the promise of the Sith.
Destroyed by Darth Malum after their betrayal on the Mors Mon.

So, a new scheme was born.

It had been Darth Plagueis the Wise who had warned against those who inhabit an ethereal realm, where the future was based on transience, and where the unexpected could occur. As her last days approached her Ayra had turned Nova to the dark side. It hadn't been easy for the Old Knight had not fallen even under the tortuous grasp of Him. There, the Dark Jedi had vowed to avenge them both, and had been given the tools for it. A second chance had been delivered by Solipsis' and his followers to carry through the mission. Yet, as Mendacium had once said, if they were once a Jedi, they were always a Jedi, and weakness took root where there had once been the strength to carry out the plan to destroy the Sith Order.

Her had envisioned a conflict between the Lost-Imperials and the Kainites. A drawn out war that would have seen the deaths of the Sith churned through the meatgrinder of the Imperial war machine. But Nova had tried to save them, and Malum had to act. The unexpected had come, and gone. So, now Her had to adapt on Maldra IV.

Through her hatred of Darth Carnifex the Old Knight of the Republic-- who had infiltrated the Empire under Her direction-- had been easy to control, and manipulate up until her weakness had cost her her life. Was it a co-incidence that in this Tionese man Her had another tortured soul of the Kainite to pull on their strings?

SNAP-HISS!

Fùchóu Zhī Shén Fùchóu Zhī Shén turned and with wild, crazed eyes he raised his blades to charge Her. With every syllable of her voice the hooded Sith spoke aloud: "You do not want to kill me, Fùchóu Zhī Shén. Redemption may yet find you on Maldra 4."

Hearing the same words played to him in the threat sent on Voss caused the Tionese to stop his charge. In thick Tionese he retorted: "Who are you, Sith?!"

"I am no Sith,"
Her lied to Fùchóu, and as she did, the Mind Trick begun to work it's way through his mind. "I am from the Bureau to assist you. Step aside, and observe."

Hesitantly Fùchóu stepped aside and watched as Her plunged her Lightsaber blade into what was left of the permacrete. The wall had been too thick to cut down with just a Lightsaber so Her had improvised. By placing a rival into harms way she had used Fùchóu to destroy most of it. If he failed to even reach the Nest, or was destroyed as he attempted his mission, then it still have been a win. There were many ways one could acquire the leverage she would need to court Darth Malum of House Marr Darth Malum of House Marr later especially now that she knew that he wanted in the Empire of the Lost.

Malum wanted influence, and control. There were ways Her could facilitate that. In many ways that had been the original plan, and she still had a use for the Dark Councillor.

But the Tionese had made it this far, and now that he was almost in, it was time for Her to reveal themselves. When the time was right she would have the means to court Malum to her side. After all: the Director had betrayed both of them. So, with a sustained effort the crimson blade finished carving through what was left of the wall giving access to the habitat module. Immediately an alert klaxon went off and Her knew that in a few moments the Rebels would be here to kill them both.

"Shén! You pull back! My ship is nearby. Wait for me there!"

Deactivating her Lightsaber Her turned to climb through the hole in the wall, and finish what she had started on Voss.
