Unaware of how her Padawan was going to take her statement, Inanna turned to Rani. "You killed one of those things?"

"A long time ago. But yes." Smiling in amusement at her incredulity, the As-Aki gestured. "It is difficult, but not impossible. The main thing to remember is that they are beings of the Dark Side. That means you must be on your guard around them.

"Second, you can't let them get close to you. The venom in their claws will... well, you already know firsthand what it does. Keep your distance, whether by finding a far perch where they cannot reach you or by stunning them so that they stay in place.

"And third: hit them very, very hard. Show no mercy, for they will show you none.
"

Rani not only had a strategy for defeating a Terentatek, but she claimed to have successfully done so before. Resh had a hard time envisioning how something so small could defeat something so large. "How do we attack then?" He asked, raising his hand as if he were in a class, "I need to get close to use my lightsaber."

"How do we attack then? I need to get close to use my lightsaber."

"A lightsaber isn't the only weapon at a Jedi's disposal," Rani said. "You have the Force. And there's no match for a good blaster at your side."

"I dunno if a blaster would be powerful enough to break through a terentatek's hide," Inanna muttered. She studied Rani. "You said you defeated a terentatek once. How did you do it?"

"I used grenades."

Inanna stared at her. "Wouldn't a grenade be like... bigger than you?"

"Yes. That's why I used a grenade launcher."

That didn't exactly clarify the logistics. Inanna shrugged. "I don't suppose you have any leftover explosives we could use?"

"You really should come up with your own plans, rather than just copying mine..." Rani said sweetly. "But I may be able to teach you a similar technique, using the Force rather than a grenade."

The process by which Rani successfully slew a terentatek only became more confusing the more she explained it. She also suggested that simply using the same methods she did would equate to 'copying', which seemed an odd mindset to take when facing a destructive beast, but then again most things about this woman seemed quite odd to Resh so far.

"Wouldn't that also be copying?" Resh asked, when Rani implied she could teach them a Force-based power, "What kind of power is it?" He looked back at Inanna to see what she was thinking.

"Wouldn't that also be copying?"

"Yes. But you'd have changed it up enough that the teacher wouldn't notice," Rani replied mischievously.

"What kind of power is it?"

"An Alter power. The technical term would be... Force Burst. You make a sphere of energy that explodes once it reaches its target. The strength of the Burst depends on how much time you spend creating it. I would suggest many low strength Bursts in a short period of time."

Inanna looked back at Resh, shrugging her shoulders. "Sounds like something even I could do," she said. "And I'm not that good at much else beyond telekinesis."

"Allow me to demonstrate." Rani raised her hands, and between them a small glowing orb began to form. It began to increase in size, the light within growing more intense. After a few seconds, it almost became too bright to look at. Rani raised her arms over her head as it became larger than the span of her arms, then threw it across the clearing. It darted between the trees, traveling some distance before it crashed into a slyyyg lurking just beyond the protective barrier.

The slyyyg, uh... was very much dead on impact.

"Yeah," Inanna muttered, nodding her head. "I think I can do that." She turned to Resh. "What about you?"

Resh watch attentively as Rani demonstrated. She summoned a tangible orb of Force energy, and threw it forth like a proojectile. It struck a big slug creature beyond the grove with clear efficiency. Resh winced slightly, "That seems very..." Dangerous? Violent? He wasn't sure what to say, but he could envision the power in his veins. Picture the destruction he could unleash…

Resh shook those thoughts away, and nodded, "I think so."
