- Space Station Name: SI-YMSY (Sith-Imperial Yaga Minor Shipyards)
- Station Model: Yaga Minor Shipyards
- Classification: Military Naval Repair and Dockyard
- Location: Yaga Minor
- Affiliation: The Sith Empire
- Population:
Sparsely Populated (Organic Inhabitants) - Heavily Populated (Construction Droids)
[*]Demographics: The organic inhabitants come from all manner of species and gender, though the native Yagai and Humans are the most common among them.
[*]Accessibility: Several parts of the dockyards are open to the crewmembers of docked warships, but the majority of the station is access restricted except for workers and higher Imperial officials. Like any Imperial installation, security is notoriously tight.
[*]Description: The primary shipyards of Yaga Minor were large, wheel-shaped installations that featured multiple hangar bays as well as docking rigs for Imperial Star Destroyers. These space stations could build and repair six Star Destroyers at any given time, and were home to several squadrons of SI-TIE Fighters and Interceptors. There were several larger stations intended for the construction of the Empire's menacing battlecruisers, and were designed like a rectangular metal 'cages'. The battlecruiser would be constructed inside of the 'cage' as automated drones assembled each part of the ship piece by piece.
Orbiting the planet are bell-shaped starfighter construction facilities where the Sith Empire's overwhelming Fighter Corps was designed and constructed. Inside the facilities the Sith perfected the art of mass-production, rows upon rows of SI-TIE components parts moved along a magnetic conveyor where automated laser arms welded the vehicles together before they were transported to loading bays.
SECURITY
- A regiment of Imperial Legionnaires (roughly 2200 soldiers) guard the dockyard complex at any given moment, often augmented with Imperial Sentinels.
- Beyond the warships that frequented the dockyards for repairs and upgrades, the complex was defended at all times by a multitude of ships. This fleet typically consisted of:
Defense Fleet
[1] Militus-class Star Battlecruiser - [6] Marr-class Star Destroyers
- [8] Xo'Xaan II-class Star Destroyers
- [12] Shard-class Assault Frigates
- [8] Techys-class Pursuit Corvettes
[*]Orbiting the planet alongside the shipyards was a Space Defense Platform similar in design and armament to the Golan III Space Defense NovaGun.
POINTS OF INTEREST
- Minor Dockyards: Mimicking the spokes of a wheel, these dockyards produce everything from Star Destroyers to Corvettes. At most a single of these shipyards can construct six Star Destroyers at a time, the gargantuan hulls assembled by a swarm of construction drones directed by members of the Sith-Imperial Corps of Engineers.
- Major Dockyards: Designated as the construction zones for Imperial Battlecruisers, these shipyards more greatly resemble giant metal 'rib cages'. The entirety of the battlecruiser is constructed inside of these 'cages', with generally enough room left for the finished warship to fire up its thrusters and exit of its own accord.
- SI-TIE Fighter Construction Facilities: Resembling upright forge bellows, these installations are marvels of mass-production. Constructed around a spine of interlinked molecular furnaces, these bell-shaped orbital factories can churn out thousands and thousands of SI-TIE Fighters over the course of several months. Like the mythical hydra for every TIE fighter destroyed by the Empire's enemies, ten more are in production to replace it.
For centuries the shipyards of Yaga Minor have been a valued resource to Republicans and Imperialists alike, having been at one time the last major shipyard controlled by the shrinking Imperial Remnant in the aftermath of the Galactic Civil War. In more modern eras the planet was fought over by the fledgling First Sith Empire and the violently expansionist Mandalorian Clans, ultimately resulting in a tentative ceasefire as control of the planet and its shipyards were divvied up into zones of influence.
When the First Sith Empire collapsed, the Mandalorians seized full control of the shipyards and used them to bolster their capacity to produce stronger and larger warships to pursue their dreams of a greater Mandalorian Empire.
Eventually the Mandalorian Clans would reverse much of their pro-expansionist policies, causing a rift between those who wished to continue expanding and those who wished to return to their isolationist, mercenary ways. A wayward group of Mandalorians, led by Isley Verd, took control of the shipyards and established their own Mandalorian Empire from Echoy'la. Unfortunately, the rise of Ra Vizsla neutered any potential this fledgeling Empire would have had, and it collapsed.
Yaga Minor would remain untouched until the return of the Sith to the Tingel Arm. First a small group calling itself the Sith Ascendancy established itself across the Pentastar Alignment territory, taking resource heavy worlds like Muunilinst, Mygeeto, and eventually Yaga Minor for themselves as they fortified their minor fiefdom. However, the Ascendancy lost its momentum at the start of the Dominion War, but eventually the Ascendancy found itself co-opted by what would be known as the Third Sith Empire.
The Third Sith Empire positioned its capital at Bastion, and used the Ascendancy's territory to create a vast Imperial Armada that it planned to conquer the surrounding systems with. Yaga Minor was an instrumental part of this operation, and the Third Sith Empire took full advantage of the shipyards located there.
Over the next several months the shipyards would be expanded, improved, and become of the most important military production zones within the Sith Empire, producing everything from TIE fighters to battlecruisers for the ever expanding Imperial State.
