The Show Goes On

"Judging you is a service I give for free."

Jamie rolled her eyes upon taking in the sight of Aela's apartment. It looked like the rest of her home, save for her bedroom. Immaculate in nearly every aspect. Her attitude towards what she considered messy was roughly on par with Jamie's mother's viewpoint. "You sound like my mother." She quipped, stepping on the back of her heels to slip out of her shoes so not to add to the mess in Aela's mind. Blue eyes danced from left to right, looking at the small decorations that hung from the walls.

"It looks like a staging for a home that is being sold." Everything had a place, nothing was crowded or awkwardly set. "But it's cute."

Her hands fell into place with one another in taking a few more small steps further inside. A hallways connected what Jamie assumed were bedrooms and washrooms, but from where she was, the living and dining areas were well designed with aesthetics of the modern era in mind, vibrant and new. The windows bore vast amounts of light, and the furniture reflected similar taste.

”I worked pretty hard on it all.” Aela said with a hint of pride in her voice.

The entire place had been furnished by herself of course. Shed chosen everything and then set it up, even built a few of the pieces out of the box. There had been instructions of course but for a girl who'd never lived on her own...well it wasnt too bad. The young Jedi Master was more than proud of her apartment, after all this was her first home, the first place that shed bought(kind of) by herself.

She was right to be proud.

”Were right near a few stores, a mall, and there's even a few clubs on a block down the street.” Wroosti wasnt exactly Nar Shaddaa, but it had a nightlife. ”There's also a really good pizza place just across the street.”

Aela spoke as she happily flopped herself onto the couch.

"A few clubs?" Jamie gave Aela a curious glance, "You go to clubs now? And drink?"

The last time they had gone drinking it did not end well. In fact the younger of the two specifically remembered hearing the elder say something along the lines of never drinking again. Though back on Naboo everyone knew well what that meant. It meant until the next time. "Pizza does sound fantastic though." The idea of it reached her stomach and as if alive, gave a rumble in agreement. "I haven't had that in months." It wasn't exactly a typical meal served at banquets and galas. A more common dish that could be found at local diners and less fancy areas of Theed.

An indulgence for someone like her, where most typical folk found it ordinary.

"Make room, you're taking up the whole space, you big Bantha." She flailed her hands towards Aela in a shooing gesture so she could sit, else she would simply sit right on top of her.

Aela perked an eyebrow but did as Jamie asked, scooting alongside the couch and moving over to give her friend enough space to sit.

It was nice being home.

That was really the only thought that cross through her mind at the moment, the fact that she was sitting on her couch, in her apartment. This wasn't sullust, it wasn't some cramped ship, it was her own space. Gently, almost unconsciously she pet the sofa, as if saying she was glad to be back. "Alright."

Aela finally said with a small yawn. "We'll get pizza."

That did sound quite good. They made it in the Corellian style here, meaning lots of crust and sauce, something Aela had always enjoyed. Her mother had made pizza all the time when she'd still been living at home, mostly because they couldn't get it any other way.

"They don't deliver though." She said as she stretched and looked at Jamie. "And no I haven't been to any of the clubs, I just know they're there."

How could she not?

Jamie gave Aela the side eye, reacting to her claim to have not visited the clubs yet. That look twisted upward into a smirk. "We could go, you know...To the club I mean." A place like that with so many people? Jamie couldn't help but find amusement in how Aela might act inside. Loud music, hundreds of people all packed closely together, alcohol up the wahzoo. Yeah, Jamie could see that being quite entertaining indeed. "After we eat that is. Might be fun."

The blonde intended to sound casual, to obscure the tiny voice in her mind cackling with the thrill of the idea.

"Unless you had plans for book club or something."

Lazily the girl scooped up on of the books, peeking at the cover for a few seconds before shifting her gaze back to Aela.

She smiled. "Sure."

No doubt her padawan meant to tease her, set her off her comfort zone, but for once Aela had the upper hand. Sure she wasn't used to the club, sure she'd never gone there herself, but Jamie didn't know one thing that she did.

A few months back, after she'd first moved here, Aela had actually discovered that her neighbor owned the very establishment she and her padawan were now talking about. The woman was perfectly nice and respectable, Aela had even loaned her a book once. She'd long since extended an offer for Aela to come to the club and experience the "VIP" treatment, whatever that meant.

"We'll go after supper." She told her Padawan with a slightly too eager smile. "You'll have to change though."

Aela glanced at her padawan. "Come on, the extra bedroom is over here."

Jamie was left with a dumbfounded stare and even less in terms of words. "I--" Azure eyes shuttered partway as she glared a suspicious glance at the girl. "What are you up to? You never want to go to those places."

In all their time together, Aela had never been the extrovert. Jamie was somewhere in between the two, but Aela? She was very much an introvert. Social affairs and mingling just weren't her forte, whereas Jamie had grown up surrounded by such things. Parties, meetings with strangers, greeting and guiding new faces, that was daily life. And while Jamie was private in her affairs, she was hardly one to shy away from public. The idea that Aela wanted to go to one of these places piqued her suspicion. Perhaps there was someone there she was hoping to meet?

All the same she sat up, following the other woman towards the spare room.

Aela looked aghast.

"Why whatever do you mean?" There was no hint of mockery in her tone, though Aela did suddenly speak as though she were some Princess accused of stealing a necklace after a ball. "I'm not up to anything."

The young Jedi Master said with a hidden smirk, her eyes giving off a mischievous glint as she stepped into the hallway and wandered to the right. If they went straight they would end up in her bedroom, but there was no need to show Jamie that. She took a left, pressing a small button on the wall so another door slid open. The room beyond was smaller than her own, but large enough to contain a bed, desk, cabinet, and a bathroom beyond another door.

"Here is your room." Aela said with a chipper smile.

She'd never actually had anyone else stay here, but she'd kept the spare room as immaculate as the rest of the apartment. Fresh sheets and pillows sat on the bed, and the desk was even decorated with a neatly folded piece of paper that resembled a Skreev.

The woman took the tone of a Nabooian noblewoman who had just been called on an outright lie. One Jamie was all too familiar with. Azure eyes lowered to a squint, lips pursing tightly together.

"Liar."

Stepping inside, Jamie took a look around at the cleanliness of the room. It reminded her of home, everything set neatly in place. The difference was that her room was quite the opposite of the rest of her family's estate. This room would suffer that same fate, should Aela leave it to Jamie for any extensive period of time.

"Adorable." She remarked, glancing at the modest desk, plush blankets and fluffed pillows. "I like it."

"How dare you!" Aela countered with an abashed look on her face, touching her chest as though she were about to faint.

The Jedi Master glared at her apprentice, though of course there was no actual offense.

Instead she followed her apprentice into the room and smiled slightly, looking around. This wasn't a place that Aela actually entered all too often, mostly because she had no reason to go into her own guest room. She looked around an smiled. "You're welcome to stay as long as you want."

She smiled.

"Even if you have to run away from home." Aela smirked.
