The Siege of Iego

Stranger things have happened before, but Skorn could not remember when, the Demons had no wings...Piraba was correct. But as the blast doors burst open what emerged from within could only be described as Demons. They were armored, or was it their skin that looked armored. The few guards on the bridge let loose with blaster fire, and the bolts simple deflected off them. The light of the bolts illuminated their faces for an instant, horrible grinning faces with horns, and eyes the black of night itself. Against the stories, and the odds...the Demons were here.

Skorn charged in, his lightsaber came to life and the violet blade lashed out at the nearest one, But the lightsaber did not slice through cleanly, the impact resulted in a shower of sparks and the Demon was pushed back. It did hurt him, but it did not end him.

Troubling news.

Piraiba

Togorian Barricade

Piraiba took a few moments. Just a precious few moments of hesitation to analyze. He saw the creatures appear, and immediately saw that they were beautiful. He couldn't tell why the golden biological armor and horns were beautiful when most would think not, but something occurred in the chemical exchange in his brain and he couldn't help but to find them irresistible. They were predators luring the weak for death. The more troubling observation was that they were massive. One of them would have looked a tall human in the eyes, but the second almost could have done the same to Piraiba! A good half of foot of its height was head horns or otherwise it could have been able to. That had to be the leader.

The question was if these wingless creatures were the Maelibi or if they were Diathim under the illusion of the demons. The Sith Knight had mentioned the demons. Was that enough to make their minds want that? Was it enough to fuel the Diathim's unnatural talent to create such an illusion for them?

Blaster bolts bounced off of their biological armor. Skorn reacted instantly, but his blade couldn't cleave the creature in two like it should have been able to. This answered Piraiba's question for him. The Diathim could likely appear as demons, but their illusions would not stop blaster bolts or sabers. This was indeed the Maelibi ... were they being used as a spear point to guard the much more vulnerable angels? The information on these creatures was rumor at best!

"CEASE FIRE," came a deep almost demonic roar from the feline in the room. Neither Sith needed a blaster bolt into the back of the head.

Then Skorn could hear a lightsaber disengaging and a few clicks of Piraiba's claws on the floor plating as the beast cleared the distance in the room almost instantly to engage the other creatures. A black blur flew past the Draclau's peripheral vision as the Togorian flew through the air colliding into that second bigger Maelibus.

A single silver hued saber was held in both hands and was brought down onto demons chest upon impact. Piraiba had seen enough from the Draclau's attack to know to treat these creatures as if they wore Mandalorian armor. His father's teachings had been quite clear about how to fight his own brethren. Good beskar would slow the progress of a saber. Quick slashes of the ancient weapon could be deflected giving the soldier enough time to kill you if he was smart. It could be pierced though if you didn't die in the moments it took to do it. In this the Togorian's strength proved a phenominal asset in doing such a thing. The armor offered great protection until 800 pounds of fur and muscle piercing power was placed into it. The biological golden plating protected for the smallest moment it took for the point of the blade to find a joining point in the plates and then it gave way with another smallest moment of hesitation. The demon emitted an ear piercing, blood curdling scream as it stumbled back.

The creature's weight was enough to keep the Togorian from completely toppling it over backwards at first, but as it stumbled back, Piraiba kept pressing forward not giving it a moment to regain its footing and balance. Yet The silver lightsaber did not find vital organs, and the cauterized puncture wound merely weakened and disoriented the creature. It seemed the Maelibi had legendary constitution.

The demon regained its thunder and roared in a similar blood curdling fashion. It hurt Piraiba's sensitive ears, but he had no time for it. The elongated saber found its way into the creature's mouth and up through its head where the beam of brilliant light busted through the other side to create a third head horn for the Maelibus.

Force willing Skorn was doing well and the second one wasn't about to ascend on the cat's back.

Sven Talith

Sven didn't even turn around, he didn't have to. Piraiba would protect him with his life, he was sure of that. The Young Moff had bigger things to take care of, mainly an entire fleet engagement. He turned about and immediately walked over to a console in the center of the bridge. He could give direct orders through this and receive information much faster. It was better than constantly relying on Uhl to send messages to the rest of the fleet and the other armadas.

Slowly he began to read out information. The Diathim had appeared in grater numbers than had been expected, though like Sven had thought the predominant amount of the angels had gone for the shield ships and now found themselves fighting in close quarters combat against highly trained stormtroopers.

Flank the Diathim ships, avoid contact at all costs.” Sven sent the message to all armadas. He assumed that the Diathim would try to ram the Star Destroyers to gain entrance into them. Their strategy would be quite simple, expose as many Imperial ships to the vacuum of space thereby killing soldiers with no effort.

It was a smart tactic, but one the Young Moff was prepared for. As he listened to the fighting going on behind him Sven keyed in several more commands. The overwhelming firepower of the Empire was just too much for the Diathim, and slowly their ships began to be pushed back further into the nebula. This was only a tiny achievement however. The Ships didn't matter, the Diathim themselves did. The Angels themselves would be far harder to kill and rout.

Skorn's battle with the Maelibi however was not going as well as the large feline's. The damn thing had a skin that was nigh invulnerable. He strcuk the Demon down at critical points again and again. And if there was any justice in this world it would have been dead by now. But alas, this is cruel and unjust galaxy. The damned thing rose up again and again. But by now Skorn was getting a pretty good idea of their internal make. He had been probing at the Demon with the force through this skirmish.

Seeking, seeing inside it. To better understand how to kill it. And now, he had an idea.

With a flourish he brought his blade down on the creature's neck. The impact driving it momentarily down. His left hand meanwhile was glowing with power. Lightning erupted from his fingertips and cloaked the entire hand. He uttered only a single word, and although he spoke basic the word echoed with power.

"Burn."

And plunged his hand into the Demon's back. WIth one fluid motion he pulled it back out, ripping out its heart, or whatever organ accounted for pumping the blood in their bodies. Having located its precise position during the fight. The Demon fell dead, at that moment the emergency power came back on. And the rest of the demons retreated to the shadows.

For now.
