"Fear is an odd thing," Lilin said. One thing she really liked about maturing as a Jedi Master was that she could really start to grasp the concept of Jedi philosophies. She no longer felt like all of these rules and guidelines were binding and could finally see the reason behind them. And she definitely liked good conversations about these things.
And indeed, Lilin saw the man as a friend, not as a student. It was a good feeling.
"Jedi are told not to fear anything. Ever," she spoke, looking ahead into the distance. "Yet without fear, what are we? Machines?" A short break. "If we don't fear for our safety, then what are we worth to be protected? If we don't fear for the welfare of the galaxy, who are we to protect these people from the evil? Without fear, can one even exist?"
She wasn't a rebel Jedi, but she did not always really obey to some rules and beliefs. Avoidance of passion and fear was one of these things she didn't like. For a reason.
"Not being afraid of anything is an utopian concept. One that can never be achieved. We may strive for it, but never get there. The Force only may experience it. And I am afraid none of us is the Force. Therefore, none of us can be fearless."
She thought it was enough of fear.
"Anyway, we are nearing the Temple. I am sure you may be slightly tired of the trip here, so I will give you some time to relax once we get there. Maybe have an afternoon meditation only in the evening."
She turned to Aston.
"Sounds OK?"
