OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
[*]
The Board: Four individuals sit on the Board, these decide what projects the society should sponsor and with how much. They are knowledgeable and highly respectable members of the society and the Empire. They are chosen from among the Sages.
[*]
Sage: The Sages are esteemed and highly decorated members of the Society, often consulted by the Board on the importance of sites and artefacts. They also play an integral role in running convents through the Empire and beyond.
[*]
Hermit: The Hermits are fully fledged members of the Society, having been inducted in the occult order and the outer society. These congregate in convents for ceremonies but are free to roam as they wish.
[*]
Acolyte: Freshly initiated to the society’s inner circles, these are the beginners, being trained in their local convent or by a Hermit or Sage they travel with.
[*]
Benefactors: Uninitiated who contribute to the Society in information or in credits. They are highly prized, but never invited to the sermons for one reason or another.
[*]
Volunteers: Individuals who have contributed to the Society with their actions rather than credits, they are highly appreciated, but ways from initiated.
[*]
Membership: Becoming a volunteer or benefactor is a simple matter of donating or volunteering. One can become a benefactor by donating single sums or by a regular subscription, which comes with certain perks, such as invitations to galas, excavations, and exhibits of new collections. They can also receive an informative newsletter about the newest finds in Sith Archaeology. Volunteers are taken in as necessary. Both paths may lead to initiation over time, depending on the individual’s diligence (not the amounts in their pockets). Those who are picked to the board are there because of their knowledge, dedication, and skill to furthering the Society’s cause.
Becoming a member of the occult order takes time and much hard work. One has to prove oneself dedicated and trustworthy, and having some connections on the inside goes a long way. The inner circle is not something one immediately knows about, and thus, it is not something one aspires to unless already initiated. One rises in the ranks by being active in the order and furthering its goals on the surface and in the deep. The odd blood sacrifice is also welcome.
[*]
Dogma/Doctrines: The outward society wants to appreciate and preserve the history of the Empire without profit: The preservation of history is its own profit.
The internal order worships the dark side of the Force and views the Sith as ascending to perfection. They recite the Sith Code and meditate upon the teachings of the Sith, even if they themselves are not force users. Many of their rituals include self-harm, but also hedonistic revelry. They are made to be passionate, cunning, strong, and without mercy.
[*]
Curios: The Society inside and out is rich on curios, from personalised trinkets to uniforms and ceremonial robes. Some take on massive tattoo projects in the style of the Sith. Each convent may have signet rings or particular emblems. In sermons and ceremonies, members will show off their status by wearing alchemical items they have procured or even made themselves - If, of course, they are not important enough to be Imperial property.
[*]
Goals: The overt goal of the Society is to bring the past into the future, both in memory and in sites to see. They want to uncover the glory of past Sith Empires and make their advances real in the present and future, for the betterment of the current Sith-Empire. And, it’s all about appreciating history.
On the inside, it is a task of worship of the dark side of the Force and of furthering the Sith Agenda in the people. The Society wants to give the Sith as much power as they can, and to personally curry favour with the Sith. Members that are also in the Sith Brotherhood may use the order to further themselves and find items of power, which is fully acceptable.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Sith-Imperial Historic Conservation Society was founded by the previous chairman, Mrs. Ohmaya Graush in Korriban City. While it has many “old world” airs around it, the society formed fairly recently, during the Sith Empire’s reconquest of the Stygian Caldera. During the reconquest, many researchers were called there to excavate, preserve and rebuild the ancient Sith Worlds. However, after the reconquest, not all projects could be funded. Ohmaya Graush got in touch with one Mr. Niir Vane, who was more than happy to fund her expedition. The two formed a close partnership in the foundation of the Society and soon it began to spread and accumulate new members, investors, volunteers and benefactors.
Over the course of their excavations, some items ended up in the private collections of researchers - things no one would miss. It was then the collecting started. Over time, the collections turned into small, private exhibitions. Mr. Vane had a flare for the sensational ritualism of display, but the group kept it internal. Steadily, as their influence grew, so did the ritualism and spiritual connection to the items and sites they excavated too grow. When the Sith gained an interest in the inner workings of the Society, their influence grew as well. This was how the inner occult order formed and how their ritualism was refined. While the brunt of their membership are non-force users, there are notable Sith members in their structure and particularly as Benefactors.
Over the course of their brief existence, the Sith-Imperial Historic Conservation Society has inserted itself as something of a given in the Sith-Empire, something one can trust to always be there, much like the ruins they excavate. They are always seeking to back new historic projects and help the Empire compile more Sith Artefacts. One of their off-branches has even invested in better infrastructure for the native Sith Purebloods of the stygian caldera, working closely with the Imperial Mission.
Sadly, Ohmaya Graush died in a tunnel collapse while excavating an ancient tomb on Malachor V. She was succeeded by Mr. Niir Vane as Head Chairman and Hierophant of the Society.

Description: On its surface, the Sith-Imperial Historic Conservation Society is a humanitarian organisation concerned with the preservation of Sith and Sith-Imperial history. Their primary function is fundraising proper excavation, cataloging, and restoration of Sith-Imperial monuments. In their own mind, they are linking the past to the future in the present, thus ensuring the passing on of Sith ideals. To the initiated, it is so much more; the Society holds occult and ritualistic worship of the dark side of the Force and of the Sith.
Hierarchy:
Head Chairman/Hierophant: The de-facto leader of the society’s occult side. The Hierophant will otherwise be known as the Head Chairman of the Board.
