The Slicer and The Dragon

The blasting sounds of lasers were halted and replaced by the sounds of empty clicks, indicating that somehow the firing mechanisms had been interrupted. Erden was surprised, shooting a look at both [member="Aren D'Shade"] and Arekk who were nearby. Judging from their behaviour, it was the sister who had created the chaos among the enemies.

"Impressive..."

The Dragon Head grinned, slightly astonished by the hacker's Force sensitivity. Aren could be a more powerful ally than he had originally envisioned despite her youth. Still, such thoughts could come in later. He was eager to exploit the temporary weaknesses among the intruders, unsure how long Aren could maintain her Force powers and control over their weaponry. The Atrisian dashed out from the table, grabbing Aren along who was nearby.

"Time to go!"

He yelled at Arekk who was a distance away from them, asking him to follow. His words barely ended when he saw a grenade looking object flying through the air. Led by pure instinct, he jumped through the nearest exit.

The window.

Glass shattered as his body crashed through, ignoring the minor cuts on his hands while he grabbed Aren along for a free fall experience. The restaurant was on the top floor of the building, which meant the two of them were now dropping quickly towards the crowd of air speeders below. It was a foolish move, but justified as the restaurant above them exploded into ruins from the thermal detonator.

Meanwhile, Erden found his fall broken by the nearest speeder, his breath knocked out by Aren who had descended on top of him while he stumbled into the backseat of the vehicle. The fall was immensely painful, but somehow he was alive.

This was a simple feat through the Force. Blasters were easy items to disable. They contained no form of sentience and were not part of anything living. If one considered droids and electronics living. That was something Aren did, at least when it came to droids.

When he took her out of the room via the shattered window, it was then Aren lost control of the Force. Not panicking exactly, she did let out a yell as they picked up speed on the way down. Luckily there were speeders seemingly just waited for something like this to happen and they had a bit of a rough landing into the back of one of them.

Keeping her wits about her, she focused on the engine of the vehicle and soon enough they could hear the purring of the motor as it waited to get them away from the scene.

"You know how to drive this thing?"

Erden thanked the stars that Aren was rather lightweight, though the impact of her landing was enough to make him groan in pain. As she moved away quickly to start the engine of the speeder, the Atrisian felt a dull numbing pain across his chest that refused to go away. Still, there was no time to lose as he pulled himself upright.

He nodded his head when [member="Aren D'Shade"] asked him about his capability to drive, the pain preventing him from speaking clearly for the moment. He climbed into the driver seat and let the slicer sat beside him while he fiddled with the gears. Moments later, the speeder shot off across the sky, leaving behind the ruins of the explosion. He took a look at the congested air traffic and decided to ignore the flow.

Where should they go?

The safest place he could think off was his own turf. The Society might have marked huge blocks of land as their territories, but they were all individually managed by the top Society members. For now, he could trust no one except his own people. The speeder dived downwards cautiously as he weaved through the traffic.

"Pew pew!"

The familiar sound of blasters behind his back was enough to tell him that there were pursuers.

After reaching into the electronics of the speeder, Aren could tell exactly what it was and wasn't able to do. Even though Erden was driving, she could control the other features of it. There were no weapons on the speeder itself. The owner either kept them on himself or didn't carry any. However, as she tinkered around with the various devices, she learned of hidden compartments and some engine abilities.

"If you flip that switch there, you'll go straight up. Might throw their aim off if you take to the next level. Let me look into some of the other areas in here."

She pointed to the button and closed her eyes. Focusing on opening up the compartments, one along each door opened up to reveal small blasters for up to five passengers. Reaching into the area next to her, she turned around to blast blindly back at them. While they were on the move like this, she didn't attempt to disarm them like she had been able to in the building.

"If you can lose them, that would be great. Otherwise, if I can get in touch with their speeder, I could try and disable that. That would probably mean they will die."

Gulping slightly, she wasn't too keen on taking their lives, even if they were trying to kill them.
