The Slog (Dominion Tier 2 Dom of Vjun and Aargonar)

So far as the senate was concerned, this was barely a war.

From his position, Darius found himself disagreeing with their summation of the situation. The Jedi Knight's vessel had come to settle upon the surface of Vjun amidst a torrent of acidic rain. He'd adorned himself with a thicker cloak and a baklava to shield his face from the effects of the rain, though he had little intention of being out in it for very long. The world itself was enveloped in a conflict that should not have concerned the Dominion, and most certainly would not have had they kept to themselves.

Three trade vessels were lost, and eight hundred lives were extinguished. The war between the remnants of the Mecrosa Order and their noble allies that had sequestered themselves on Vjun, and the Vong warlord Kruln was something the senate had decided to ignore. It was judged as a situation that would resolve itself, but that had been faulty thinking. Ships on their way to Commenor had been ambushed for the goods they carried, and those aboard these vessels were slaughtered or held for ransom. A similar fate had befallen ships passing near Aargonar, where Kruin had erected his stronghold.

Both sides of the conflict between Vjun and Aargonar had struck out at the Dominion. A response was demanded.

Two of the Dominion's armies had been raised: the Essonian Peacekeepers and the Atrisian Regiment. The former made for Aargonar, where they would lay siege to the Vong Warlord's stronghold and mop up the remnants of his powerbase. The latter had been deployed to Vjun, their shuttles deploying onto the planet's surface amidst a hail of AA fire. They would take Bast Castle, the headquarters of the Mecrosa and their allies, and then secure the rest of the world.

Darius' dropship was one of the first to hit the dirt. The Jedi Knight moved at the head of his troops, emerald lightsaber flashing like a beacon through the heavy rains that marred the soldiers' vision. The landing zone that had been chosen was a large clearing atop a craggy mountain pass a few klicks out from the castle. It was in the heart of the Mecrosan territory, but the Dominion wouldn't be staying in the open for very long.

Darius peered out along the dead mountains. No plants grew here - the acidic rains prevented that. The rock itself was dark as basalt and sharp enough to spear a man upon in many places. It was a harsh climate, but that was to be expected of such a dismal place.

"Get those speeders off the transport! Munitions and supplies here, tents there! Ordnance first, food later!" Darius shouted, gesturing toward different positions throughout the pass. The pass itself was quite high above the valleys, and the only way up the mountain was a road that the Atrisian Regiment was already working to block. Hopefully, they would manage to establish this FOB before the Mecrosa could stop them.

"Yula, you have the authorization to deploy 3 squadrons" Julie told Yula et al.

"Master Jutland, I know that you're a mercenary officer, but still, so am I. Yet the Dominion was facing the same kind of trouble as the Sith factions in terms of personnel"

Julie Jutland has returned from Asmeru, where she used battle meditation inside a gravitational anomaly, to assume command of a new mission in the Dominion's employ, laying siege to Warlord Kruln's stronghold. While in the Commonwealth chain of command, Yula was entitled to only 1 squadron's worth of command, that is, Sith Hunter Squadron, here she had ultimate responsibility over three squadrons. The Essionian Peacekeepers would make their landing on Aargonar, where they will attempt to lay siege on the Vong warlord's fortress. The mere thought of Vong crab armor sends her chills down her spine, while she assembles all 34 pilots forming the three squadrons into one ready room prior to departure from the carrier they are on, a Providence-X, with the carrier escorted by a few Munificent-Xs, C-9970s and Hardcell-Xs. Meanwhile, the Yutans assigned to Sith Hunter Squadron are being loaded with heavy proton bombs, which, for safety purposes, are worth four standard proton bombs. They are almost ready to take off on another combat sortie.

"Here's the plan: Sith Hunter Squadron will conduct a bombing run on the enemy stronghold, approaching the target under cloak, while the other two squadrons will escort the landing craft carrying the Essionian Peacekeepers"

"With all due respect, we have no idea how heavy the anti-aircraft defenses are" Daisy countered.

"We have to make it quick so the less rounds, the better; the heavy Deathballs have been loaded! All piliots, prepare for immediate takeoff!"

With that said, Yula stood ready to depart the carrier, alongside Sith Hunter Squadron, with the understanding that the remaining squadrons are deployed for space interdiction and protect the fleet. Also, she crossed her fingers to see whether the Dominion had an actual invasion protocol that worked, unlike those Sith factions. They just can't throw line infantry at an enemy that had other stuff on top of it. Already Yula being on a bombing run was a good thing: Sith Hunter Squadron engaged their cloaking devices and began its descent towards the surface location where the Vong stronghold was.

As far as the Aces were concerned, this was just a milk run.

Just a favor owed to an old comrade of his. And besides, the damned Vong were here. Disgusting, vile creatures that Lok had spent nearly an entire decade combating. He knew them well, knew how to hit them where it hurt the most. So did the boys and girls flying as his wingmen. They may've been archaic ship designs that flew proudly during the Second Galactic Civil war but they were tried and true; good at killing both the Sith and the Yuuzhan Vong.

"C'mon, Kipp, you're flying like a Bantha today. S'wrong?"

The crackle of static told of an incoming response. "Nothin', Cap. Just a wee nervous, it's been a hot minute since we've flown against the Vong."

"Oh, you'll be fine. Just stick to my sheb."

And with that, Lok pitched his flight yolk forward, diving down into the atmosphere of Vjun, the Crimson Aces close in tow.

Causstik Rahn paced the hangar of the Scorekeeper. A small MC40a capable of carrying around 200 military personnel. The escape pods had been retro fitted to allow for combat ready drop pods instead. Capable of boarding ship and of surviving atmospheric entry. The once pirate war-chief stared out at his troops as they boarded their pods. Causstik was approached by a large Trandoshan, his second in command Crossk. "Chieftain, your pod is ready," The Trandoshan growled. Causstik nodded and walked the metallic halls of his ship too the awaiting pod. He entered with a platoon of warriors, then placed a holocomm onto the ground. It illuminated the craft with a soft blue glow and Causstik's frame would appear in all four of the makeshift drop pods as a hologram.

"Today we will be laying ssiege to the cassstle of the Vong... It's strengsss are unknown, which is why we will be landing first. We will deploy as soon as the bombss fall atop their headsss. Once top side we will pave the way for the rest of the Essssionian Peacekeepers. As the enemy line is undefined we will have support from our war beast. We will inssiate in a three prong attack. Platoon one, will take the left flank, while platoon 2 takes the right, and the rest of us will march right into their gullet and rip out their still beating heart! Each platoon besides platoon 3 will have one Drouk war beast for support. Platoon three will have two. The Vong are formidable warriors, but they have never faced a unified clan of T'dosch like ours! We will ravage their lands and take their hides! Their precious armor will be little help to them! We will crush the enemy here and the Scorekeeper will shower us in Jagganath points! We shall do the lizard dance atop their smoldering corpses! VICTORY SHALL BE OURS!" Causstik roared and a hundred Trandoshan battle cries echoed his own.

In each pod a Trandoshan shaman began to play the hide drums of war. Like a beating heart the drums began. BU-BUM, BU-BUM, BU-BUM, BU-BUM. The pods ejected from the vessel and began their slow decent through space to the planet below.

Bhakt Wemk

The Prospective Weapon Master
(1/25)

The transport rumbled as it descended toward the planet Vjun's surface. He had to admit this brought him back to his time with the Screechbats. He drifted back to that time, the heat of the cramped boarding craft, the fear and anticipation in the air. He remembered it being exhilarating and terrifying all at the same time, which was about what he was feeling now. This was going to be his first mission for the Dominion as a whole and it would figure he'd get assigned to the damn warzone. It made sense ,given his background and sheer size, that combat duty would be for him. Though in truth without more training in the force, fighting was about the only skill he had to offer the healing faction.

He was jolted from his thoughts as the pilot called out," 20 seconds to touch down!" Bhakt did a last minute check of his vest making sure it was properly secured and took up his vibroax. The plan called for landing away from the castle, and getting set up for a more than likely long siege. At least this part would be different than his previous life, actual planning. The Nikto was used to just blowing down airlocks or drilling holes into hulls and being in the thick of it.

The Transport jolted as it touched down and Bhakt filtered out with the rest of the troops of the Atrisian Regiment. He grimaced a bit as the acid rain struck his skin, which was thick enough to prevent the rain from hurting. That didn't mean it wasn't annoying as it did cause his scaly skin to itch. He resisted the urge to start scratching and took in his surroundings. Vjun seemed to be an absolutely dismal place even with out the acid rain. He could already here Darius calling out orders and he turned to the one squad under his command,

"You heard the man get unloading you grimy dogs!"

The men scrambled to get to work and Bhakt couldn't help but chuckle at himself for letting a bit of his pirate self come out. He approached the knight and stood next to him. So far he liked the man, having been taught a bit by him. He gave a small nod in gretting.

"Darius. So what's the plan for the siege once we get set up. I've been itching for a bit of exercise."

The shuttle lifted off as all the supplies were lifted from its hull. It made it about twenty feet into the air before an anti-tank missile flew up from one of the valleys below. The shuttle veered to a hard right, but the lumbering beast of a ship was not fast enough. The missile struck her right wing, and the ship's flank exploded in a miasma of fire and molten metal. The vessel fell into a hard nose-dive before crashing down right in the center of the pass. Men rushed to recover the pilots from the flaming wreck, both of which yet lived. They just barely managed to drag the men out as the ship was enveloped in a second explosion, this one being its final death.

"Well, we're certainly not leaving the planet anytime soon," Darius murmured in reply to Bhakt. The Nikto was, for all intents and purposes, one of Darius' students. Though he might have been more experienced in an active combat role, he was still the Nikto's senior. "We'll have to fight our way down the pass with our armored vehicles and punch a hole through their perimeter. We hit fast and hard. They have the walls, but we've got the kit. If we can break their line before they can converge on us, we can start breaking down the castle walls."

Darius watched as the two pilots were dragged into the hastily erected medical tent. Seven TX's stood at the ready in the center of the pass, alongside three columns of Atrisian warriors. Most of these men carried anything from blaster rifles to the katanas of their homeworld. All were ready to bleed themselves on Vjun if it meant victory.

"Think of this as much as a training exercise as a battle," Darius murmured as the men readied themselves. AA variants of the popular E-Web were set up along the ridges to deal with oncoming aircraft. "You need to control yourself here. You have command, and the force is more open to you than it was before. Your decisions will shape it, and it will shape you. Let it flow through you, and try to find that place of peace and certainty in your mind where you feel no feel. If you can achieve that in a hell like this, then you'll be a Jedi yet."

Darius clapped the Nikto on the shoulder as he stepped forward, his voice raising. "SITREP Nogita!"

One of the younger men snapped off a salute. "Green master Jedi."

"Damn right. Mount up Bhakt, we're taking the tanks."

On board the DDC Hot Drop, orbiting Vjun

Jack was in the hanger bay of his ship giving a final briefing before dropping, "Alright boys and girls, this drop won't be combat, we will be hitting ground and rendezvousing with commander [member="Darius Sedaire"], and advancing on the castle with his Atrisian Regiment. Now report to your assigned pods, we have a signal for a safe drop point, GO! GO! GO!"

Jack slid into his seat and strapped in letting the pod fill up, a quick once over from the drop master and the door was shut. The pod was hoisted on the the rail and slid out into space, unlike the last drop this one went fine and the landing was only somewhat violent. He stepped out and began to look around, the helmet only did so much but Jack could see the others begin to emerge from the cloud layer, AA guns attempted to knock them out but the angle was too extreme and the pods were moving too fast to be tracked easily.

Jack spoke to his man carrying the massive comms pack, "Get a hold of Commander Sedaire, tell him the 701st have boots on that ground and are advancing on his position from bearing one six two."

AARGONAR - 2100 GST
The dominion fleet had perched its talons over the desert world of Aargonar, ready to strike upon the pirate criminals below. The Ession Peacekeepers along with a significant detachment of Meridian soldiers were in the metal behemoths. They had been given a simple objective depose the Vong warlord which had been attacking Dominion shipping in the area, the Senate had found this unnacceptable, they dispatched a fleet immedietly to put the warlord in his place. Alyson was in one of the many landing craft ready to land on the world. She was attached to a unit of shock calvalry, designed to charge and break enemy lines by any means necessary. They used long Force Pikes in order to maximize their reach and combat effectivness on horseback. The Dominion had offered speeders but the men refused, they did not understand the technology, and wished to keep to their traditions, something they would do until the day they died.

Alyson was at the front near the loading door, the craft had already made its descent escorted by fighter craft to prevent any enemy air attack. She pulled out a small holotransmitter and prepared to give her briefing, the transmitter activating shocked a few of the soldiers who leaned back a bit, others made noises of observation and learning such as ooooooooooooohhhhh and ahhhhhhhhh and the like. It displayed a reconnaissance overlay of the area they would be fighting in. in the center lay a fortress, there were many red dots pulsing around the base, they located enemy combatants as received from recon photography and scan sensors. Off to one side a ways lay a huge ominous cloud, that represented a dust storm.

"Alright men! We have been tasked with deposing a warlord from his puny little throne in that there fortress! Now, we are shock calvarly! We are to charge in and break the enemy lines preventing the rest of the force from using the main door. We will be assisted by harrassment calvalry in this duty. I am certain you all have used force pikes against the filthy Vong barbarians before, so i feel no need to elaborate on the tactics of doing so. Set your pikes on maximum and prepare to kill some Vong. Now we have to work fast. There is a sandstorm incoming onto the site in T-90 minutes, by the time were down there it will be T-70 minutes, so you better work fast to break those lines and get the Ession peacekeepers inside! You are Merides' finest and i expect only the best from you. Now lets get going!"

Most men would be given a similar breifing at this point, those were out of Alysons hands.

Soon as the shuttlecraft descended onto their target, AA fire started wreaking havoc on the descending craft, while there were few windows on the craft, they could hear the wrending metal and loud booms of the destroyed craft. The men could only hope that their friends were not on those shuttles. Soon the craft began landing one by one, releasing their payload as quickly as possible before taking off, only hoping to make it back up.

Alysons shuttle landed along with two others containing the rest of her platoon of shock calvalry, on the horizon one could see a massive ominous dust cloud. It was now time to begin, if they lost this battle they sure would be dead. That was the way the men liked it.

Bhakt Wemk

The Prospective Weapon Master
(2/25)

Bhakt simply looked on as the wreckage of the ship that was shot down exploded and crashed back into the dirt. As the crews pulled the few survivors out, he listened to Darius' plan and couldn't help but smirk at the irony; it looked like it was going to be more like old times than he thought.

"Good I'm best in a straight fight anyway."

Bhakt almost laughed...almost at Darius' comment about this being a training exercise, not a open combat zone. The Nikto made sure to pay close attention to Jedi's advice about the force and he was right, ever since his first lesson it felt like he had a deeper understanding of the force. He thought of snarking back about remaining at peace before he realized this would be his first major battle in years. Bhakt would have to focus to not fall back into old habits of letting his emotions take over during conflict. He looked back to the man and simply nodded taking his advice to heart, and hoped he could accomplish the task at hand.

He jogged to the tank behind Darius and mounted the swiveling laser turret and linked comms with the 2 tank crews under his command.

"Alright boys, I've been told you Atrisians are some of the finest warriors in the galaxy. Show me that spirit today because you're gonna need it! We're going in hard and fast on these karking Mercosa dogs to show them what happens when you call out the Dominion!. Crews foward!"

While Yula descends down to the lower levels of Aargonar's atmosphere, Yula realizes that the stronghold is located at the top of a mesa. Because the rest of the fighters under Yula's command are there forming up with the Essionian Peacekeepers and Causstik's MC40a, awaiting the results of the bombing run before they could launch the ground assault, no, actually, the MC40 and Alyson were going down to the atmosphere, eating anti-aircraft fire, shooting down some of the fighters assigned to escort the landing craft. And... Meridian shock cavalry? Were these guys trained by Gungans? But there was a sandstorm brewing below them, in T-70 minutes once the bombs will be dropped. Luckily she had the stealth feature activated: they went undetected by the enemy anti-aircraft system. Would the enemy be able to tack their magnetic signatures? She couldn't tell. And yet Sith Hunter Squadron took 20 minutes to get to the target: the enemy stronghold. Pixie said that she was better for ground attack missions than she was for dogfighting: now was the time to show it.

"Approaching target" Pixie acknowledged.

"Loosen formation and watch out for the enemy anti-aircraft"

"Bombs away!"

The heavy bombs were dropped and, since they had no electronics on them, the enemy targeting systems couldn't detect their presence. That being said, they swiftly re-cloaked while ten large explosions rocked the stronghold's position at the top of the mesa, obliterating significant portions of the stronghold. But the stronghold was so large that ten such bombs were not enough to destroy it outright. And yet, it ought to have scored some significant amounts of damage on the enemy anti-aircraft. If that didn't suffice to help out our own, then we shall conduct another bombing run and then fight off the enemy, much as we did back on Elom, she thought.

"Forward!"

The battle-tank column moved as ordered. Darius climbed into the gunner seat of the foremost vehicle, his fingers jostling for the controls. Lines of Atrisian soldiers climbed onto the sides of the tanks or marched in tandem. Light support speeders followed suit, taking up positions wherever they could alongside the main line. The pass was far more narrow than intelligence had predicted, and so the tanks were forced to move in a line down the rocks.

"Scans are showing a lack of explosives along the road. Seems they didn't have the time to prepare for us." Darius murmured into his comm. With it came a smile of assurance. The Atrisian Regiment would run into trouble, but it was trouble that they could forge through when it came about.

The pass itself was bereft of the Macrosan enemy, which struck the Jedi Knight as odd. He slumped back into his chair, his senses extending beyond the physical to touch all. He felt the minds of his soldiers on the ground and the tank drivers, but nothing by way of resistance.

It made him uneasy.

"Solid copy 701st. All quiet with us. have you run into trouble?" Darius asked, a bit of unease to his words. This wasn't right.

"This seem off to you Bhakt?" He finally asked of the Nikto. "You'd think they'd fight for every inch of this damned mountain, but I'm not seeing a soul."

The doors snapped open with a hissing noise, the sunlight started shining through slowly illuminating the dark interior of the dropship. The dusty sky becoming clearer and clearer through the slowly opening crack.

"LOWER PIKES"

The men lowered their pikes as ordered. Some of the men were breaking into a cold sweat, this battle would be an intense one, it was no simple training mission, or some small battle back on merides, they would be put up against the modern galaxies technology. Old world vs new world one could say. The men were both eager and fearful to find out who would win this engagement. They were well trained back on Merides, but however this would translate back into live fire combat was to be put to the test, hoepfully they could work well, do their job even under live fire by a technologically superior oponnent.

The doors opened up, but the men waited for the command, Alyson held up her left hand to indicate the hold.

"CHARGE!"

She said, putting her horse into a sprint out towards the enemies at the other end of the hill. They said Vong knew no fear, Alyson wanted to see if that was true.

The Crimson Aces blasted down through the stratosphere, fire and flame burning around them as their kinetic shielding took the brunt of the atmospheric force.

If everything had been timed properly, then Lok and his wingmen would make it to the armored column made contact with the Yuuzhan Vong forces entrenched in the mountainous terrain.

"Cap. Reports are sayin' they haven't seen a damn soul since they've hit the dirt."

Lok pursed his lips, veering his X-Wing downwards, in an arcing angle that would make their descent just slightly slower than planned. "Lucky, see if you can't patch us in to their sensorscopes. I'd like to have my own eyeballs on this stuff."

The astromech beeped and whistled in affirmation.

This was strange. Too strange.

The column ambled along with little incident. Darius would mention that it was odd that now traps or explosives were waiting for them. Bhakt just shrugged feeling that maybe they would prefer an active ambush on the column. The Nikto kept his eyes on a swivel still ready and every so often he'd reach out with the force to feel for any beings. He felt nothing but a few forms of hardy local lizards. Bhakt began to feel a bit uneasy, and almost as if reading his mind Darius voiced his concerns to the Nikto.

"It does seem a bit off...maybe they decided to hunker down and draw out the siege at the castle itself."

He kept his eyes open and looked to his men.

"Stay ready boys, could be anything waiting for us up ahead."

Bhakt didn't think much of the 701st coming in as they weren't his men to command. He'd keep his focus here using his tanks to the best effect possible once the action started. He que'd his comm talking to Darius.

"If they have hunkered down do you think these tanks can blast the walls down? We could be looking at long seige, which I for one would like to avoid giving this karking annoying rain."

He still felt out with the force, but if anything happened Darius would probably feel anything off before he would. Bhakt hoped that something would happen soon, good or bad. He was getting a bit anxious and was really aching for some action.

Tandar had never been on Aargonar before but a job was a job he supposed. Tandar lagged behind the bunch he was being paid to protected, a weapons check was necessary. He brought with him a power lance for the main charge, a scatterblaster, and his main piece of equipment an old vibro great sword his father had passed down to him. Tandar didn't like the idea of a straight on charge of the vong but his opinion in this didn't matter, he was paid no need to question orders.

While the others around him jumped on their horses Tandar got on his speeder bike another old piece he picked up from his father. The engine roar was like music to his ears but he didn't have time to enjoy it there was a charge to be had. Tandar picked up speed as he pushed the old bike letting him rejoin the main force, that and they were on horses so he would have to slow down for them.

The 701st moved quickly through mountains, if the acidic rain kept up like this they were going to have to stow some of the more sensitive gear to protect it, comms and scanning equipment chief amongst the most vulnerable and it was time to pick up the pace.

"COME ON DOUBLE TIME IT! ARE YOU GOING TO LET THOSE LAZY TANKERS SET THE PACE?!"

That was all the encouragement they needed, the column could already be seen down below in one of the many valleys, with out the landscape interfering Jack no longer needed the bulky comm set to reach the column.

"No trouble here, good lines of sight though, everything looks quiet, way too quiet for my comfort."

The sense of unease stood with him all the way until reaching with the column, although rather than completely joining only Jack and his command squad rappelled down, leaving the rest on the ridge in order to keep a height and line of sight advantage on any advancing opposition.

The attack came quickly.

The gathering of tanks had just passed through the mountain pass and onto the terrain below. The valley they entered ranged onward for a few miles, and at its end stood the great mountain castle of Bast. It was there that the Mecrosa coordinated their efforts to snuff out their Vong enemy, and were now plotting to continue attacks upon Dominion trade vessels.

Such actions could not be allowed to continue.

Darius parted his lips to bark an order when a dagger found itself lodged in the throat of the man he'd been speaking to. The old fellow collapsed to the ground, blood ebbing from the open wound and spilling onto the ground below. Another man fell, then another. Darius spun about within his turret, only to find rocks and ash. Then came the warriors themselves. They were clad black cloaks and carried vibroswords. Some tossed shining spherical objects toward the lead tank.

It was all Darius could do to throw himself from the turret before the thermal detonators went off.

He pitched a roll, cursing loudly as one of the rocks sliced open his arm. Ignoring the sudden flash of pain, the knight sprung up to his feet, lightsaber at the ready. One of the assassins came for him, her blade raised to cleave him in two. Darius parried the strike and slammed her hard in the temple, sending her falling to the ground, unconscious.

Others followed suit. Darius turned to face them, his weapon whirling to meet every blow sent his way. From over one of the hills, two repulsor tanks and a column of soldiers marched outward, engaging the Dominion force.

"Ambush-" Darius snapped off to the 701st before another opponent stole his attention. There was little time to chat.

Bhakt cursed and swiveled the laser turret around and fired. The beam hummed loudly as it sliced through a cloaked warrior, but before the Nikto could lay waste to any more the tank ahead of him exploded. Bhakt instinctively covered his face from the explosion. The air now filled with smoke, dust, and the constant infernal acid rain, Bhakt reached out with his feelings falling into the force, just in time to sense a warrior coming at his left side. He had no time to get the turret in place and instead drew his ax, parrying the clumsy overhead chop of the attacker with the haft of the ax. The former pirate would then push the axe forward putting the assailant off balance and would use the same momentum to bring the ax around and cleave into the leg of the fool. Bhakt's attacker fell from the tank blood pouring the open leg wound.

Bhakt now surveyed the area quickly seeing the approach of the tanks and column of solders. They needed their own tanks to push forward to engage, but the smoldering remains of Darius' tank soundly prevented that from happening. He growled and shouted to the driver.

"Push forward! Ram that wreckage out of the way! We're sitting mynocks boxed in like this"

More of what Bhakt assumed were the Mecrosa rained down flying daggers mixed with a few thermal detonators. He grimaced as a dagger struck his armored shoulder and he yelled to the crew driving the tank as it speed forward slamming into the tank debris.

"Keep at it boys and somebody take the turret, I'll be more useful on the ground! Get that debris clear before those tanks are on our heads!"

With that he took a leap from the turret and landed hard on the ground to engage a couple of Mecrosa that approached him. Bhakt blocked and parried their blows and began to fall into the force. He let it slightly speed his reactions as he positioned himself to retreat toward Darius' position to provide cover for the knight.

The pod shook violently as it began its descent through the Stratosphere. Red hot flames licked at the edges, Causstik peered out the canopy as the fire danced across the surface. Mesmerized by the flames. The pod entered the atmosphere and clouds gave way to steam. AA fire opened up and the vessel shook violently as the missiles exploded around them. The Trandoshan's aboard the ship screamed in exhilaration as the vessel kicked and jumped. But, just as soon as the AA fire started, it stopped. Causstik peered out the window once more to watch as several explosions shook the fortress to its foundation. "THE BOMBERS HAVE WEAKENED THEIR RESOLVE!" A Trandoshan cried out in glee, it was followed by a tumultuous roar of approval from all aboard. One of the Trandoshan's next to Causstik began shaking violently in excitement. Soon the battle frenzy would begin and as the scent of blood flew upon the wind Causstik's warriors would enter a near unstoppable fervor. Nothing would mater except for the hunt. The pod crashed to the earth with a vehement thud. Rock and dirt went sprawling to the sky. The Trandoshans unhooked from their safety harnesses and stood at the pod's door. It lowered itself with a cranking sound and a soft whir. Slowly it descended untill finally the Trandoshans could see the haze of dust the pod had kicked up upon it's crash. "CHARGE!!!" Causstik roared. "FOR THE DOMINION! FOR THE SCOREKEEPER!" Followed Causstik's cry and the Platoon of Dreadtooth warriors charged forth to hassle the enemy.

Jack was mid way through his descent when the call of an ambush came though, he and his men were horridly out of place to assist the column, the steep high wall meant that firing solutions into the column were limited and with most of the enemy using melee weapons caused confusion and steeply increased the chances of friendly fire, but his men would make due, sharpshooters were already taking careful aim and the rest began to spread out along the ridge. That just left him and the squad repelling with him, they were already moving to slow for Jack's taste seeing no other way than falling he pulled his DC-17m and shot his descender, the small mechanical device that acted as brakes for safety purposes, and attempted to fast rope his way down.

Jack miscalculated and hit the ground hard, tumbling and knocking the wind out of his lungs, he rolled over to see one of the ambushers charging him while he was scrambling to grab his DC just barely getting it in time to shoot the man.
