The Spice Job

When your life was nothing but an amalgamation of odd or distasteful jobs, frequenting even the most questionable and shady of space ports becomes something of a norm. Most of Sehla's jobs consisted of her traveling to such places to do whatever it was the client wanted, to the point that she'd gotten so used to walking through such space ports on an almost daily basis.

The job this time around was recollecting goods for her current client, a crime lord who'd had the unfortunate luck of losing a shipment of his spice. It had disappeared while his men were in the process exchanging the shipment for the payment, so he was pretty sure that his shipment had been stolen by the same people he'd been trying to sell it to. Sehla's job was the find the shipment and theif and repossess the goods. If the theif got in the way, which she had been told would most definitely happen, she was to get rid of them; repossess the goods at all costs.

The young Togruta made her way through the slightly crowded space port, her face tilted down as she stared at the glowing scanner in her hand, following the signal that was being put out by the tracker her client had left on his stolen shipment. She only looked up once and a while to make sure she wouldn't bump into other people or their equipment. The faint pulsating glow of the scanner lit up her face in the dimly lit space port, and even though she glanced up once and a while, she made sure only to pay attention to the path she was on and not to any of the shady people around her.

From what the scanner in her hand told her, the stolen shipment was only a couple more hangars away.

[member="Krest"]

"We have confirmed Force Hunters in hanger six. They seem to have the package we were warned about." The voice spoke over the com within Krest's ear as he wandered above the spaceport, sticking to the shadows. An informant had told Intelligence of a possible weapons deal that would give the Ascendancy's enemies devastating capabilities in the form of disruptors. The illegal weaponry was able to split their targets apart atom by atom, and needed to be in Ascendancy hands before the rouge Mando's could use them against the Sith.

"How many?"

"Half a dozen."

The Sith chuckled as he made his way over to the hanger. "Not gonna be enough." Blue eyes peered down into the room, surveying the half dozen armored men below. The six were busy moving a number of crates onto a freighter to most likely leave back to their base. Normally the Zabrak would let them and track them back, but the weapons were too dangerous to just let leave.

Krest jumped down into the room, a smile wide on his face as he glanced around. "Hello boys. Need a hand?" KHe was immediately assaulted with gunfire which he walked right through, his body twisting and turning as the shots came too close to hitting him. "He's a Forcer! Focus your fire!" They were trained to kill Force Users and the blaster fire that had been easy to evade was no longer, forcing the Sith to pull free one of his lightsabers and begin deflecting the shots. There was no time for him to try to redirect them, but the man still had a grin on his face.

He would enjoy killing these terrorists.

Sehla raised her head from the scanner and paused to listen. The hangar with which the cargo resided, so said the scanner, wasnt very far away, and the ruckus she was hearing seemed to be coming from the same direction. That never really was a good sign. The Togruta dropped a hand to rest it on one of her blasters as she made her way quickly for the hangar. She came to a stop at the entrance, her back to the wall, before she looked back down at the scanner in her other hand to make sure that her suspicions were right. The tracker in her hand pulsing while the sound of blasterfire now thundered from behind her confirmed what she believed, and her gut twisted in anticipation as she turned her body to peek into the hangar itself.

Blasterfire flew from all sides of the room it seemed like, though it was all focused on one central point that moved itself through the barrage of lazerfire. Sehla felt her gut wrench even harder, though she wasn't sure if it was fear or not. In the center of the chaos, deflecting the blasterfire, was (what Sehla assumed was) a Sith, That was only what she believed though, given the red glow of the lightsaber in his hands. She'd never seen such a sight before, well, the "Sith" or blasterfire being deflected with a lightsaber; needless to say, the latter astonished her.

She gawked for maybe a few seconds more before turning her attention to the crates from behind which the Mando's were hiding themselves. This was a chance; if Sehla could sneak around the hangar without being seen, while the Mando's attention was on the "Sith" she could sneak around and catch them off guard. If she could assist the "Sith" in defeating the cargo thieves, then the "Sith" might be willing the negotiate with her on the shipment, or at least that was what she was hoping.

The young Togruta then began to sneak alongside the wall, attempting to make her way along and around the room, planning to come up mount a surprise attack from sneaking out from behind their ship.

With each deflection and dodge the Zabrak closed in on the Mandalorians step by step, never moving more than half a foot each time. He was focused, planning his next move. And then he saw her. A brow raised subtly on his face as [member="Sehla Rys"] entered his vision, and he could only assume she was after the shipment given she wasn't attacking him. Perfect. A grin formed on his lips as a plan came together.

His next step sent him soaring through the air as he jumped towards the closed Mando as a predator would pounce on it's next meal. In a blur of movement his saber ripped through the gaps in his armor, severing his head and arms from his torso. His allies were stunned for but a moment, the blaster stopping as one of their brothers were killed so quickly.

They must have been green.

The moment was all the Zabrak needed as he brought his hand around to the next one just a few feet away. A deep rumble filled the air as the man was lifted from the ground. He chocked as his gun fell from his grasp and both of his hands clawed at the invisible noose stuck around his throat. The others began to fire at Krest again, anger clouding their focused fire. Casually he deflected the shots with his saber while keeping his attention focused on the one before him. His struggles soon ceased as his neck snapped and his body was dropped from the air.

The young woman paused at the side of the ship; she'd been too focused on sneaking that she hadn't noticed the dismemberment happening a mere twenty feet away. It was only once the blasterfire had ceased that she looked up, thinking her cover was blown, before she noticed the dismembered body, laying on the ground. She stared for maybe another moment or two, only coming back into focus once the blasterfire began again. This time, the Togruta didn't let the power of the "Sith" leave her in awe, from the force choked victim now lying on the ground, as she neared the Mando's.

Sehla drew her blasters, stopping behind one of the cargo crates that sat next to the ramp of their ship, and aimed for the two Mando's that stood closest to her. Her shots rang out, as she quickly fired off a few rounds at each one, her face calm and focused as her blasterfire found its marks. The two Mando's crumpled to the ground, one after the other, and the back of their helmets smoking from the kill shot. Their closest comrades, noticing their friends fall, turned around to see Sehla with her blasters aimed on them now. One of them barely had time to call out as she fired again, catching this one in the arm before her aim landed another headshot, and he too stumbled and fell to the hangar floor.

The other Mando who'd taken notice of her cried out in anger, aiming his blaster on her and fired. Sehla barely had time to duck as she crouched down behind the crate, the shoulder of her jacket smoking from the blast. She stayed down for another second or two before peeking back up over the crate to fire at the one shooting at her, which then gave her time to realize that some of the other Mando's who had previously been focusing on the "Sith", now had their blasters aimed on her. Well one thing was for sure; this was one fine mess she'd gotten herself into.

Ah, there it was. With [member="Sehla Rys"] 's surprise attack the Sith Lord was able to move freely, and took complete advantage of that fact. With one turning his back and the other alone in his firing the Zabrak was able to close the distance quickly. In a single fluid motion his saber burned through the Mando's gun, his forearms, and finally through his chest, piercing right through the stomach. Behind his helmet the younger man coughed, his arms dropping to his sides as he ended up leaning against Krest, unable to support himself.

With a sigh Krest shut down his saber and gently brought the Mandalorian to the ground, laying him there with some care. With the other Force Hunter focused on his new ally he focused on the dying boy before him. Krest would place the severed gun on his chest. Silently he mumbled a warriors prayer, and the boy would let out his last breath of life. Only then would he look up to see how his ally was doing.

Sehla poked her head back around the crate, firing at the one Mando remaining, though the young Togruta was focusing so much on exchanging blasterfire with the one right in front of her that she hadn't noticed that the others had all perished. She ducked back behind the crate and took a deep breath. She waited for a few seconds, as blasterfire rained over her head, before she turned and peeked back over the crate, firing for him once more. This time she hit her mark and the Mando went down.

She continued to sort of hide behind the crate, her blasters sort of set up over the edge of the cargo as she scanned the area ahead of her, waiting for another attack... Until she realized, finally, that all of the Mando's they'd been fighting were dead. Sehla blinked slowly for a moment before she began to stand, dropping her hands to her sides, though she still held onto her blasters.

The fight was over, the cargo thieves were dead. Now all Sehla had to do was recover the cargo, and hopefully not get killed by a Sith. It all sounded a lot easier than how it would probably turn out, least that's what she thought. She glanced at the man, staring at him for a moment before realizing he was looking right back at her. Sehla coughed slightly, straightening herself up a little bit as she holstered her blasters and dusted off her jacket.

"Ah," Sehla cleared her throat again before turning to face the Sith "officially", "Thank you for assisting." She said calmly, bowing to him, more to be polite than just because he was a Sith, before she turned to the cargo right in front of her, looking for the tracking number on the crate, just to make sure it was correct.

Krest stood as [member="Sehla Rys"] spoke, but once she bowed he raised a brow. His lightsaber had found its way back to his belt. "No problem. Thanks to you as well. Why are you bowing?" Perhaps the least formal of all Sith to meet, the man began to look around as if to avoid the topic. He too went to one of the boxes, but unlike the woman he popped open one of the containers, pulling out one of the disrupters.

"What's your reason for being here anyway? You're not one of my agents."

Sehla frowned when he inquired about her bowing, "It's a habit from home." She thought about it for a moment before looking over at him and what he was holding. "Uh.." She sort of moved slowly around the crate, "You brought that right? That wasn't...In there?" She had seen him pull it from the box, but she wanted to make sure that she'd seen right. "Please tell me that theres Spice in there and not disrupters...?" She trailed off as she came to the side of the box he was looking in.

She took a deep breath and turned around immediately, walking over to one of the other crates to make sure that it was the same exact contents as the one currently being looked through. The Togruta groaned slightly, raising to pinch the bridge of her nose with her fingers. "Alright." She said, mostly under her breath, "I can get it back to him, but demand more payment because he lied. Then again, if he lied about the cargo itself, who's to say he won't try to kill me and not pay me at all. This is why you don't work for crime lords."

The Togruta turned around and leaned back on the crate rubbing her temple with her fingers.

"Crime lords huh? Makes sense that's where the Force Hunters would get it from." The Zabrak frowned as he processed the information. He put the gun back and closed the container, thinking. If the Crimelord had more, the Force Hunters might go back to them. He cast a glance over to [member="Sehla Rys"] , who didn't seem alright with the Disruptors in the first place. "Take me to them. These sort of weapons can't fall into the hands of my enemies, and I intend on making sure they don't. I assume this is just a job, so I'll offer a better one."

The female Togruta took a deep breath, holding it in for a moment before letting it go. "Well..." She started to say, moving off from the crate and setting her hands on her hips as she faced him, "I'm going to die anyway whether or not I bring him the cargo so sure. Why not. As long as I have a job, and I'm making money, I don't really care what type of job it is for the most part. As long as I get paid for my work."

"You'll get paid, and I doubt you'd die. The Ascendancy has too many resources for you to go that close to death." He pulled out a datapad, pressing a button as he brought up a holocall. One of the Keepers of his Intelligence Agency came on screen. "We heard everything M'lord, and we're more than capable of equipping her as needed. I assume the Crime Lord mentioned will be the next target?"

Krest nodded. "Ayup. We'll be ready to move out immediately. Send out some fixers and get this place cleaned up, and reclaim these blasters. Understood?" The hologram saluted, and the call was ended. Krest placed the datapad back in his pocket. "You up for it? Oh, the names Krest."

She gave him a curious look before nodding, "Its Sehla Rys. And I'm more than up for it. I mean you did just hire me right?" She shook her head, "It wouldn't look very good if I decided not to follow my new boss on a job. How is this supposed to work then, eh? No back up? Which ship are we taking? They already know what my ship looks like, if that will help. I mean, I don't know if you're planning to run right in, guns blazing, or are you planning a surprise attack?"

"Yours. We'll walk right in, and deal with it from there. They can't sell disruptors anymore, and we'll make sure of it, even if it means killing them. We'll have backup, but neither you or I will know they're there till a fight breaks out, understood?" Krest got a bit more formal as [member="Sehla Rys"] agreed with his offer of employment. "We're an intelligence Agency, and new gear is already by your ship. Weapons of course, so you'll be able to take your pick. Let's be off." He motioned for Rys to lead on, a kind smile on his face.

She blinked in surprise, before she shrugged, slipping her hands into the pockets of her jacket. "Sure. Should I tell him that I'm on my way back with the stolen shipment? Or will it be a surprise visit? I've never had it happen, but I'm pretty sure I could gauge what type of reaction he might have if we just randomly show up. Either way we'll get an audience with him, but they might be more handsy with the latter." She began to walk towards the entrance of the hangar, to go back out into the spaceport itself.

He would follow, slipping his hands into is pockets as he walked along the path. "We'll say we returning the shipment, make it easy. Once we get in there we'll either convince him to stop selling, or we'll kill him. One of the two, which ever proves more necessary." To make friends with a crime boss would be far more bennificial to the Sith Lord, but he wasn't above killing the scum. Krest would cast a glance to [member="Sehla Rys"] as they walked. "That alright with you?"

Sehla would shrug again, looking over to him as she walked, "Whatever you deem best, I guess. Yeah I'm ticked he lied, but he's a crime lord. I can't really say that lying is outside of the sterotypical "characteristics" of a crime lord. It more or less just made it all difficult, because usually when that sort situation happens, you're there to retrieve the cargo and thats it; you wont even get paid, you'll be lucky enough to live. Or that is at least, thats the usual ending of what I've been told." She snorted in annoyance, "It is way too important for me to make sure I get a job done, and get paid; I don't have the time to deal with greedy employers who won't keep up their end of the deal. That's the only reason I'm annoyed about the whole thing."

The young Togruta looked ahead once more, "But hey, if you want to try to make friends with him; be my guest. But I have absolutely no clue as to whether or not he'll oblige. This is the first (and last) job I've ever done for him." She closed her eyes for more than a few moments and took a deep breath, her stride not faltering at all.

"Well, if you think he's the type to go back on his word, I don't see a reason to keep him around." What [member="Sehla Rys"] had said made it fairly clear what needed to be done next. If the man wasn't trusted by his employee, well ex-employee, the only motion to go was to end him. Once they neared the ship a storage box would be seen just outside the entry hatch. The gear he had promised. "Security spikes, wrist mounted datapad, some new blasters, grenades. Even a vibro knife, as I'm sure one of your species knows melee combat." Racist, but given Rys clearly wasn't a pacifist it wouldn't be too much to assume. "Take what you want. Think of it as a hiring bonus."

"Yep. Fightings in the genetics." Sehla stated bluntly as she walked over to the crate, lifting up the lid a little to peek in. "And thank you. I've been thinking about getting a new blaster anyway." The Togruta pulled out a blaster, looking it over for a moment before she glanced back into the crate.

"I'll be completely honest though," She started, glancing over [member="Krest"], "I don't know how all of this stuff works. Blasters and blades, I've got down. I've heard of it all, at least seen some of it in action, but never used some of it." She closed the crate before starting to move it up and into her ship, planning to look thoroughly through the selection offered to her once they'd set course.

"Ready to set out when you are, I'll get the coordinate's up and running."

"I wouldn't worry too much about it. I don't know how to use half of it either, but I'm sure you'll figure it out faster than I could." Mostly because [member="Sehla Rys"] would need it much more than the Sith Lord ever would. He would follow her onto the ship as a report echoed through his ear about the fixers having reclaimed the weapons and cleaned out the hanger. Good, no evidence.

He would sit down in one of the chairs beside the pilots, closing his eyes. Flying wasn't his thing, and soon enough they would be in the air and heading towards the next target. "What information do you have on the man?"
