The start of something interesting

Gherron spun around at the sound of the tiny voice. "Rael, get her out of here!" His distraction was just enough for the pirate to smack him in the back of his head with his pistol, which have Gherron a severe headache as he went dizzy for a few seconds. The sound of the blaster going off jolted him out of his stupor, as he watched the body of te older twi'lek fall to the floor. Getting back up, Gherron swung a heavy right hook to the man's jaw, sending him backwards a door or two. I'm a second, Gherron was on top of him, enragingly battering at his face. It took him a bit before he was able to stop himself, both fists still at the ready. He couldn't allow himself to go over the edge again. Picking the pirate captain up by his collar, he stared into his bloodied face for what seemed like an eternity, before decidin his fate. "You're a lucky man." Callingbhis saber to his hand, he ignited it and shoved it hilt deep into his rib cage.

Rael was trying to get the girl out of here, indeed. However, she was pretty stubborn, and he didn't want to hurt her. However, as soon as the fight between Gherron and the pirate broke out, he simply picked her up in both of his arms, and rushed out of the bridge. "Dad!" She shouted again. The pain in her voice made Rael wince. "What's your name?" The Kaleesh asked, trying to distract her from her father. She didn't answer, instead she just covered her face, and ignored him.

Rael took her to the entrance to their ship. If he thought opening the door was hard already, it was 10 times harder doing it with a twi'lek in his arms. He brought her into the ship, and took her to one of their extra rooms. He laid her down in the bed, and called out to Gherron. 'In the extra bedroom. Need advice.' Rael started looking around the ship for medical supplies. Once he found what he thought he needed, he took it into the girl's room.

Gherron needed to get his bearings straight, and calm down. His heart was racing, and his head had a nasty cut in the back. 'Stay there. I'm on my way.' True to his word, he made his way back to his ship, nursing his head softly. Once he got to the room where the girl lay, he sat on the bed next to her. 'She's under a lot of stress. Let's not push it.' "Hey, you're safe with us now, okay?" As he talked to the twi'lek, he checked for any broken bones, thankfully finding none. She had a few small cuts, but she'd be otherwise fine. "I'm Gherron, this here is Rael. You're safe now."

"Your ship's a dump..." The girl muttered through tears. Rael looked at her, then leaned out the door, and looked to the ship's entrance. "Gherron, we might want to get out of here." Rael sat on the other side of the bed, and started getting bandages ready. She had one particularly bad cut on her arm. He put some rubbing alcohol on it, and started to stitch her up. She winced, but didn't say anything. Once he was done, Rael started wrapping a bandage on her arm. "Feel better?" Rael put one of his hands on her shoulder, trying to comfort her.

Instead of saying anything, the twi'lek just curled into a ball and looked down. Looking at Rael, he mouthed 'let's go', before getting up himself. He would walk over to the med bay, so he could patch up his head, all the while talking to Rael. "She'll come out when she's ready. For now, she just needs some time alone. I'll be in my quarters if you need me." And with that, he retreated to his room to meditate on the matter.

Rael nodded, and left the room. He'd give the twi'lek some space.

A little while later...

Rael sat in the bridge of their ship. He had his armor on, ready for anything else that might come their way. He'd quickly polished it, and then decided to learn more about the ship. He sat in the copilot chair, looking at the screen in front of him. He had his hands on the controls. Somehow, he'd actually managed to pull them away from the pirate ship without blowing them up. That was as far as he got, however, and now he was trying to fly the ship into hyperdrive using only the thrusters. The engine was off. "Why isn't this working...?" He grumbled to himself. He was no involved in moving the ship, he hadn't noticed the presence of the young twi'lek girl. "You're doing that wrong." Rael jumped, and looked over his shoulder. 'She's awake.' He threw out to Gherron.

"Well, show me how to do it, then." She sighed, and sat down in the pilots chair. She put her hands on the controls, and pushed a quick series of buttons. Rael felt the ship rumble as the engines turned on, and the ship started moving faster. She looked at the computer, and asked, "Where're we going?" She was getting ready to punch in hyperdrive coordinates.

"Ossus." The voice came from behind them. Gherron had been watching for a minute or two, observing the twi'lek's skill in piloting. Interesting... Walking over to the two, he glanced at the girl, a small ghost of a smile on his face. "Well? Take us there."

The girl then took her chance and punched in the coordinates, watching the stars stream behind them a second later. "There ya go. I'm Sunrele, by the way. Thanks for saving me..." She seemed to get choked up on that part, and Gherron knew what was wrong. "I'm sorry. I wish there was more we could have done." He wouldn't say it, but he felt responsible for her father's death. If he hadn't got distracted... No. He had to put that out of his head. No use blaming himself, he'd never get out of it.

Rael sighed at the ease with which Sunrele, as he had just learned, piloted the ship. He looked to Gherron as he spoke, and could feel the guilt coming off of his master. He pushed it away, and got of the ship. He gestured for Gherron to take his spot, and he moved to a chair, closer to the back. It was the comm chair, but he didn't know, or care about what it was. "Why Ossus?" Rael couldn't feel any noticeable presence in the Force coming off of Sunrele. Maybe his more attuned master felt something he didn't.

"I figured it'd be a good place to rest for a while. Get things situated." Gherron looked over to the twi'lek for a second, sighing softly. "You doing better?" In response, the girl nodded slightly, trying to look ahead. "I kinda just watched my dad die in front of me, but yeah. I'll be fine." She seemed to bite her tongue at that, and finally looked at both of the Jedi. "Thanks for saving me, both of you. If you hadn't come along, i'd be dead too. So thanks."

"Don't worry about it. It's what Jedi do." Rael started to mess with some of the controls on the communications panel. He sat there for the ride to Ossus, and the party seemed to be in the bridge. He would interject in the conversation every so often. Sunrele slowly started to open up to them as the ride went on. Rael could tell she was still sad about her father's death, but he could also tell her rogue spirit was starting to show itself. The twi'lek girl was telling a story about how she smuggled her dad onto Corruscant so he could get a job when the ship came out of hyperspace. "Alright, bring us in." Rael said.

"Will do!" Sunrele said emphatically. The girl smiled as she brought the ship down into Ossus' atmosphere.....
