The Strength of Iron (TIE)

The clinking and clanking of weapons was everywhere around me. Blasters being charged up, slugthrowers locking and loading, Swords sharpened, armor ready, and most of all, The footfalls of the Iron Lords as they walked through the camp. There was three of them who were just owning that little section of dirt as they walked past me. I sat on a folded chair with a wipe rag in my right hand, and my sword Ravensclaw in my left. Cleaning the blade, and simply maintaining it. The curved shortsword was very useful in the right hands. As I was rubbing the blade down, One of the mentioned Iron Lords stopped in front of me.

I was not wearing any special gear. Just dressed in a long sleeved shirt, some padded shoulders, and arms, a simple pair of pants with a military grade set of boots. Like always, I had my mask on, with my wild raven black hair shifting in the wind. Looking up, the young man looked at me. His face still clean of any scars. His metal plated gear shone as though he just washed it, and polished it. He thought rather highly of himself. Knowing that I was a Hellyni. We were a known species, but only a handful of people ever left our homeworld of Hora. Hell, some never left the city states they were living in.

"Your kind is among us? Not sure if I should be honored, or disgusted."

The smile was clearly in his voice, as well as being plastered on his face. Standing up, I rested my sword against the chair leg and used the rag to wash my hands. Not even looking at his face as I spoke.

"Both. You should be honored I am only disgusted with your mug."

Oh he was headstrong. I could tell when his face changed to that of anger. He reached for his lightsaber. However, I moved much faster. My hand reaching out and grabbing it from his belt and taking a step back.

"Leave."

Tossing the coveted weapon to him, he thought about attacking me. Oh it was on his face. Every sign showed he wanted to show me up after how I made him look like a fool. I leisurely sat down in my chair, and once again prepared myself for the Hunt. The man deciding it was in his best interest to still breathe, walked away. My apprentice walking out from around the corner, She knew something happened.

"Not even going to ask."
"Good, I wouldn't have told you anyways."
"Typical. Anyways, I am ready for the Hunt. The calling starts in five minutes."
"You mean when they gather everyone up to have a pep talk?"
"You have such a way with words Atheus."
"You honor me."

Shaking her head, she moved past me and headed towards the meetup on the south side of our entire operation. Preparing everything for the hunt, and acting in my stance. I smiled a little as she was a good student. Useful with a blade, as well as a pen, with just the right amount of sass. Standing up once more, I put the sword in it's sheath, and slipped on my attire of the cloak/coat, adjusted the straps on the sheath to have the blade reside over my left shoulder, and then followed after her as I pulled up my hood.

Time to get to work.

OOC: OOC THREAD LINK - Make your opening post however you wish, somehow get to the meetup. After that, weapons free.

Aster pouted as she glanced at the member of the Emperor’s guard who sat beside her in the airspeeder as it headed towards the camp. The stony-faced man was more than an eyesore; he was a killjoy and the bane of her existence. Whenever one of them was around they would often reprimand her for her behaviour. “Your behaviour is unbecoming of the Emperor’s niece,” they would sometimes tell her when they didn’t criticize her for her ‘dangerous’ behaviour which she found to be quite annoying.

We have arrived at the destination, Miss Moreau,” the driver announced when the airspeeder came to a stop, ending Aster’s pout and excitement filled her eyes as she undid her seat belt while her vehicle’s door was opened for her by the Emperor's Guard that had sat in front of her in the vehicle.

Thank you,” Aster grinned, left the airspeeder and enthusiastically entered the campsite, ready for her adventure. Despite her lack of combat experience or anything that may make her an asset rather than a liability in the hunt, save perhaps her street smarts, she eagerly joined the group of people who had slowly gathered as if waiting to be addressed by the leader of the hunt.

Behind the Emperor's Guards and the Emperor's niece, the humble figure of Garm walked down the ramp and into the hunting camp where the noise of preparation engulfed the air. It was a typical military camp, the only similarity that he found with the explorers' camps that he was part of almost his whole life only bore resemblance in the fact that both had piles of survivalists' gear and nothing more. Explorers did not carry tons of weapons with them on their missions.

Now usually Garm Berik, a warden in the Iron Empire and a former navigator/explorer, would not partake in hunting missions. He had no skills nor experience in hunting, let alone fighting. His heavy blaster pistol his only friend along with a chest plate, knee pads and vambraces of the standard Iron Imperial soldier's armor that he donned. His leather cloak whistled behind him against the wind as he caught up with Aster.

The reason behind his expedition to this mission was obvious - there was no one better filing a description of this planet than Garm. He had countless experiences behind his back of mapping and studying newly found planets in the Unknown Regions for the Empire of the Hand. Gathering more information for the databases of the Iron Empire was certainly something highly important. More over, the elder man had been instructed by Emperor [member="Isamu Baelor"] himself to advise his wayward niece.

Considering her nature, Garm knew it would be a long hunting week.

Following after my apprentice, Eris as I would call her when in open company, was going up towards the little "stage" that was set up. Really it was just some wooden steps leading up to a platform to where Her, myself, and a representative of the company. I was there just to act as someone who knew what they were doing here. Eris was the one who was starting this whole thing. I wasn't too keen on taking the light on projects such as these. So I let her be the face of my company. The one I inherited from Nick.

As she got up, there was a glass of water on the podium where she drank from, and began to speak as people were filling in.

"Welcome everyone to the first Iron Empire Hunt of the season. Go ahead and gather round."

Once everyone was gathered up to listen, she began to speak once more.

"Thank you all for coming. This hunt is hosted by Cerberus Enterprises for the Iron Empire. All of you came to this planet of Safe Haven to aid the locals in bringing down the population in various predatory creatures. Many of these are Rancors, Nexu, and if you happen to find any, you may capture the mythed Azaru. You can gather together in groups, or work on your own. You have a week's time to capture, or kill all the animals you wish, and when you turn in these captures, there is a chance you can earn prizes. If you have any questions, you may ask myself, or any of the representatives of the Iron Empire. Open Season begins."

After walking away with the pedestal. She and I walked off of the stage.

"How did I do?"
"Fine."
"Fine? What do you mean fine?"
"You did fine. No need for an extra long speech."
"I wanted to make us sound important to them. Like we need their help, as much as they need us."
"Its fine."
"Urgh! Why can't you just..."

She continued to rabble off as we were making our way to the speeder. It was large enough to fit others with us if they wanted to join on our hunt. I wouldn't be surprised if no one joined us with her rambling about wanting to make good speeches for people.

"You're not listening to me anymore are you."
"Nope."
"Urgh. If you weren't my master, I'd slap you upside the head."
"There are other factors, so don't."
"Yes sir."

Even though she ought to have listened to the woman who addressed the crowd, she didn't. Another item on the list of things she out to have done but didn't. Instead, she furrowed her brows as she attempted to plot ways to escape her escort. The plan was to have fun, not be babysat. Perhaps she could somehow distract them and run off to hide somewhere. Yes, that was her best bet. With no combat or physical training of any sort, there was no way she could outrun the Emperor’s Guard or even the warden who her uncle had instructed to advise her. [member="Garm Berik"] was his name if she recalled correctly.

Miss Moreau, it is time to board the shuttle,” one of the Emperor’s guard gently tapped her on the shoulder, informing her that the informal assembly had already concluded.

Thank you," Aster replied with a nod of her head as a sign of acknowledgement of what the man had just said and obediently followed her escort to the shuttle. Being a rather willful teenager, that was a bit odd and out of character for her – especially without pulling one of her childish antics.

Whether those who accompanied her noticed her slight change in demeanour was something that had yet to be seen. She was going to listen to them, oblige to their requests, and be a ‘good girl’ at least until an opportunity to slip away to go off on her own adventure presented itself.
