Description: It was found that the predecessor of the Varindar, named after Varindar Asyt, the Deliria, was too large for the level of combat capability the Silver Jedi wanted out of an attack submarine. Weight savings were made by reducing the thickness of the hulls, and thereby the size of the ballasts, which have the side effect of reducing the defenses the submarine has to defend against projectiles, mines and other weapons susceptible to hit it. By doing so, the tonnage of the submarine was cut nearly in half, with very little reduction in the pressure hull size, and allowing the squadron size to be increased from 2 to 4. However, some of the weight savings were applied to soundproofing, resulting in no real increases in speed or to maneuverability, with the central mast playing host to not only sensor and communications, but also electronic warfare. And the problem of the ordnance magazines were not resolved: their size could not be increased, and they still suffer from potentially destroying the submarine if the ordnance magazines are penetrated while there is still ordnance in it. The proton rocket tubes have been somewhat modified to handle a variety of ordnance up to the size of proton rockets as well, hence retaining the capability of hitting other submarines, aquatic vehicles and even coastal targets.

The guns were replaced by eight quad-lasers modified for underwater use since it was found that the original guns were unusable underwater. Also, an anti-aircraft version, suggested by stoners and hence is colloquially known as the Rasta Sub subclass, have all the proton rocket flex-tubes replaced by standard flex-tubes capable of firing proton torpedoes, concussion missiles or other ordnance of equivalent size, and feature 8 VLS of that size, alongside two each forward and aft.

  • Limited ammunition: if the ordnance magazines are exhausted, the craft is vulnerable
  • If the missile magazines are penetrated, the submarine can be killed
  • Low cargo capacity
Description: The stoners that were responsible for designing the anti-aircraft variant of the Varindar realized that attack submarines were not always the craft of choice for underwater operations, and that slow submarines were liable to be picked off by faster, smaller escort submarines. In the Maladon, a hydrostatic field generator provided improved defense and allowed the designers to save on the weight of the armor, while retaining air-independent propulsion, and hence make the craft faster than the much larger craft they were designed to escort. In addition, the EWAR suite was removed due to a lack of space, and a modified quad-laser fitted for underwater operations, with two torpedo tubes complementing the craft's weaponry. Something's gotta give for giving such a craft combat capabilities: it does not have the ability to carry passengers, nor does it have the ability to carry any significant amount of cargo in its hold.

Description: The very stoners that designed the Rasta Sub anti-aircraft submarine struck again, by designing the Ceraluen, one of the largest submarines in Silver Jedi service. The Ceraluen is intended to attack ground targets and catch attackers off-guard by firing heavy ordnance from its five heavy VLS units, capable of firing assault concussion missiles, cluster missiles, heavy baradium missiles, or other ordnance up to the size of assault concussion missiles. In addition, to defend itself against surface and submarine threats, it is equipped with six proton rocket launchers, capable of firing a variety of ordnance up to the size of a proton rocket and, also to be able to deal with airborne threats, a dozen modified quad-lasers that enable those to be used against underwater targets. As with submarines of that size, and capable of diving around 300m, the Ceraluen is double-hulled, with the outer hull being durasteel and the inner pressure hull being sound-proofed against a quadranium layer. Due to the extreme size of the Ceraluen, it takes up the resources of an entire squadron of submarines to itself, and, as is expected of a submarine this size, the Ceraluen is very slow and its maneuverability can be compared to that of a Hutt on an oil slick. Also, in an amphibious or an underwater engagement, its sheer size and sheer firepower makes it a priority target for enemies.

Due to the greater space, the number of passengers that can be brought onboard has increased to 400, albeit with very little comfort: it is not intended to be used for transporting sentients underwater for prolonged periods.

The Crown Nebula Hotel's inner court

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
WORKSHOP INFORMATION
DESCRIPTION
The Ta'jar Blood Gang initially built the boutique hotel as part of a moneylaundering scheme, from the very beginning, where the crime ring was routinely overbilled to get the hotel to completion, and even after it opened its doors, the hotel was staffed with slaves the gangsters took. Due to the mistreatments suffered under the hands of the Ta'jars, turnover was high; nevertheless, the hotel remained profitable thanks to a draconian cancellation policy whereby one night was forfeited if the cancellation took place at least 30 days before the booking date and the entire stay would be charged for no-shows and for cancellations that took place less than 30 days before the booking date. In addition, the hotel was laundering money via another route, with the crime ring running the hotel's outdoor 25m swimming pool like a hippodrome, holding swimming race nights several times a week and laundering money by means of gambling, with the races themselves being held fair and square.

When the Silver Jedi order seized the hotel from the Ta'jar Blood Gang, the hotel comprised 20 luxury rooms and 9 executive suites, today appointed using the amenity standards in use in 5-star hotels, and also a five-star restaurant, Bumba's Eatery, with other amenities, such as a concierge/valet service, a business center with conference room, a fitness center in the basement, and a boutique area for fine shopping. The Crown Nebula is currently the only five-star hotel on Trandosha.

RATIONALE
Initially, Varindar was a receptionist at the hotel, as well as a one of the hotel's swimmers attached to the hotel's pool. When the Ta'jar Blood Gang's moneylaundering scheme was uncovered, the Silver Jedi Order seized the hotel from the crime ring. Afterwards, it scrambled to find someone that could act as the general manager of the Crown Nebula by combing the staff in the hotel's payroll at the time and Varindar was reluctantly placed in that position. Once she assumed the position, the Order gave her a virtual carte blanche to run the hotel according to her wishes, and so she tried her hardest to make sure the hotel would actually meet the standards expected of a five-star hotel. She then swore to run it as a refuge of integrity and transparency in a jungle of scum and villainy.
