Hi there. The first thing you probably noticed is my Dark Jedi affiliation title. Yeah, that's right, Carlos is one of 'em. He's not trained in much of anything and I don't even plan on making violence or whatever part of his storyline here in the Republic.

I'm here for some politicking and plan on becoming the Senator of Umbara seeing as Carlos is a Human-Umbaran crossbreed. That being said, I want all of you to (easily) realize that all politicians aren't the polite, thoughtful, caring, and charming creatures that they are. Some are powerhungry, live for nothing besides conquer, and crave more and more of it with each passing moment.

Also, I'll be sure to notify you all when I actually do plan on doing something more mischievous with good ol' Jon Snow here. Don't worry, story is all that matters to me and if you think I'm intentionally undermining this great faction from the inside out, feel free to PM me and I'll happily make edits.

This all seems a little bit like you want to be catered to for the sake of story line for a character that hasn't even been well established yet. To me that's a little ridiculous. I don't know why we'd let someone that we could clearly tell has ties to the Dark Side take Governorship over Umbra, especially when something could be done about it.

Hows about we explain intent and share a little bit about the story or try to in some way accommodate us before going around and telling everybody how it is.

Considering a former Emperor of the Sith Empire became a Senator for Umbara shortly after its fall, requesting such a thing shouldn't be hard. And there are probably numerous Darksiders within the Republic. Everyday there's Jedi wanting to convert and vice versa with the Sith.

As for this "catering" concept, you've got it all wrong. Factions cater to characters, not the other way around. I don't expect everyone to bend to my will, at all. I just expect you ladies and gents to be open to the fact that I want things to be a little different than they have been by introducing someone who isn't a goody-two shoes hero wannabe.

Lol yea... that's what I said. You want to be catered to by the faction.

My point is that, despite the possibility of Sith(or any darksider) Governing Republic planets under the guise of someone else or using some puppet Governor, I disagree that it's something that just a Padawan or Initiate level character would be able to pull off.

Yusan Fenn was the Vice Chancellor and he wasn't even a Knight.

Non-Force Users are Senators. If you combine both the Umbaran manipulation skills and Carlos' focus on similar things, it isn't hard to easily accommodate such a concept. Umbara is also known for its cloak-and-dagger politics anyways.

Which is all fine. I just doubt the validity of you just walking in and being governor as a Padawan is all, hah. Good luck I suppose, but if I were in any position of authority I'd say no without the full expression of intent and a good story built up for this to happen.

Most people who want to become a Senator need only to post in a thread saying they want it.

But thanks.

Welcome to the Republic, [member="Carlos Castillo"]. I'll be watching this all unfold with some curiousity; it does seem that we haven't had a whole lot of political intrigue as of late (for better or worse).

Don't worry mates, I'm not here to become the next Palpatine or anything, I just wanna do some political snobbery and snooping around. Should I choose to do anything major like, say, kill someone or snoop around the Senate building, I'll be sure to let the Faction Staff know.

I am one such person in a "position to say no" and I'm not going to. Everyone has a right to their story, and I'm happy to help them build it so long as they understand that every story has a right to consequences.

It's when they neglect the consequences that I'll say no.

Hello!

Hey there, new to the Republic, I've lurked around the site for a while.

Ti'Ilandra is a young Jedi Padawan just getting into the field for the first time, shes had a difficult past and a hard road to get to this point but now prospects look good.

She's going to need a master, further training and to make other contacts.

For the Republic!
