PREMISE:
The Giblim Incident is a MISSION thread which serves as a chapter in Act 1 of The Sundering Dawn. Taking place along the Giblim Route (a hyperspace trade route which passes through the Tion Hegemony near New Alderaan) a Velran-class Super Star Destroyer called “The Revenge” has released a distressed signal– a plea for MAYDAY– after its deployment to the Ash Worlds on behalf of the newly formed Imperial Confederation (founded as the direct successor to the Empire of the Lost) goes horribly wrong.
As it traverses the Giblim Route en route to New Alderaan to quell the revolts which have transpired since the collapse of the Empire of the Lost it drops out of hyperspace in the New Alderaan system to discover that the planet is no longer there. Nearby star systems pick up the distress signal which is then relayed to the Mon Calamari system where members of the Imperial Sector Authority (one of the two members of the newly founded confederation) mobilize a taskforce to launch a rescue mission to salvage the ship and crew.
Can you find “The Revenge” and its crew before it is too late? What happened to the ship, and perhaps more importantly, where is New Alderaan? Meanwhile, as the Imperials consider the loss of a great weapon for their burgeoning Confederation, and the many questions which have arisen in the wake of the incident, opportunity arises in the criminal underworld. The seditious and treasonous Fifth Wing– responsible for the economic collapse of their former Empire– is still operational and functioning within the Tion Hegemony and they are not done in their schemes which have wrought chaos along the Outer Rim Territories.
Upon learning that “The Revenge” and its crew have gone missing, The Fifth Wing have leaked the word to the criminal underworld who have begun mobilising to steal technology and pick apart the ship before rescue can arrive. This information has reached the many intelligence agencies across the multitude of factions whose spy networks have long used the black markets, and the assortment of criminal enterprises to pry intelligence about their supposed allies, and many enemies across the Galaxy.
Will your faction dispatch their heroes to investigate the incident, and learn more? Are you an opportunist seeking to inflict damage on your Imperial enemy? Only you can decide whether or not to participate in…
