- The Sword of Darkness is a plot device, intended to be used for specific plots and PvE situations. It cannot be used in PvP situations unless agreed on by all sides.
- The Sword of Darkness gives off an aura of darkness, death, destruction, despair, anguish, vileness.
- The Sword of Darkness can hold its own against the known weapons; lightsabers, vibroswords, magical weapons that are not imbued with Lightside powers, etc.
- While the Sword of Darkness is summoned, it amplifies the Sith Warrior related abilities.
- In the 'real world' - being stabbed in the heart with the Sword of Darkness may send the victim's soul into an alternate dimension pocket called the Darkness.
- In the 'real world' - being cut with the Sword of Darkness deep enough may cause Darkside Flu (superficial cuts have no effect).
- The Sword of Darkness cannot appear out of thin air. It requires something in hand before being summoned such as a stick, a pole, a knife, a regular sword, etc.
- The Sword of Darkness ceases being the Sword of Darkness as soon as Scherezade deWinter is no longer touching it. This includes attempts to make nifty tricks such as toss it in the air and grab it again; while it's not in her hand, it will return to being the original object it was.
- The Sword of Darkness can appear against Scherezade's will when she is in negative emotional turmoil.
- Although the Sword of Darkness amplifies Sith Warrior abilities, it weakens Sith Sorcery abilities.
- A sufficiently strong attack by Lightside Powers could cause the Sword of Darkness to be unsummoned and keep it from being able to be summoned again for a full day.
- The Sword of Darkness cannot be summoned if there are Force dampening devices/lizards in the vicinity.
DESCRIPTION
The Darkness is a pocket dimension created artificially by a Sith Master whose name has been forgotten to the pages of time. Nearly a millennia ago, [member="Shery deWinter"] was trapped inside it for a year by her brother, Jonathan deWinter. She managed to escape just before giving birth to her second child, [member="Brumhilda deWinter"]. Although her brother had earned her eternal wrath, Shery could not ignore that she was impressed by the application of the pocket dimension, and set out for several decades in order to learn exactly what it was and how to control it.
Five hundred years ago, in the midst of the Gulag Plague, Shery deWinter set out to destroy the line of one of her daughters, [member="Nessarose deWinter"]. Nessarose had hidden her twin babies inside a pebble 700 years ago, in order to protect them until the threat was over, fully intending on bringing them back to resume normal life as a full family alongside her other half, @Diomedes Antares. But that plan was not to be. Shery managed to kidnap the twins, and separated them.
Scherezade deWinter, split from her brother, spent 500 years in the Darkness. She was released about 6 months ago of IC time. Prior to the Darkness, she had been a baby. Now that she was out, she inhabited the body of a young woman nearly done with her teenage years, and her grandmother imbued many of her memories into the child’s mind. Believing that her grandmother was the one to put her inside the pebble, believing that her grandmother was the reason she had been robbed of the chance to grow up like a normal person, surrounded by a loving family, Scherezade soon came to loath her grandmother, and her grandmother became the first person to be added to her kill list.
Her first months as a living semi-adult were filled with adventure, love, happiness, and at the same time she battled feelings of loneliness, inferiority, being generally unliked in the CIS, undertrained, and more.
Just before the events of End Game, Scherezade had been making her way towards the Unknown Territories. She paused on Coruscant to grab lunch and check up on her guest, where she stumbled into [member="Kamon Vondiranach"], who, for the sin of being a Darksider and a deWinter, stabbed her through the heart and the gut with his lightsabers.
Scherezade’s body almost died, but her mind and soul were sent back into the Darkness.
Unlike the previous time, there was more than just the endless black inkiness of it around her. This time, visions appeared, and Scherezade underwent what she believed were years of torture as she was faced with her grandmother, her parents, some random people in her life, her adoptive sister, and the man she loved. She was defeated, near the brink of being broken, believing the visions the Darkness was showing her were true. A particular set of visions had to do with her adoptive sister and the man she loved. In the visions, her sister had Witch-claimed the man, and the two told her that everyone had fooled her, that nobody loved her, and that everyone around had been on the game as she was being prepared in order to be sold to a spirit that would possess her for eternity, not allowing her to live or die.
After what seemed like years, Scherezade began to fight. She managed to pull parts of the Darkness and turn them into her Sword of Darkness. Inside the Darkness, it helped her kill the monsters, kill visions of the man she loved and was still trying to get back to in order to keep her promise, kill anything and everything.
Eventually, she reached the throne room of Endelaan, where her parents still reign as Warrior King and Sorceress Queen. The throne room was empty, the planet void of any people. Scherezade didn’t logically understand any of it, but she knew that she had failed, even if she didn’t know in what exactly it was that she had failed. She lowered herself to a knee in front of the empty throne, and stabbed herself in the heart with the Sword of Darkness.
Scherezade woke up in the real word, seeing her adoptive sister and the man she loved, embraced. She believed she was still in the Darkness and combusted most of the furniture in the room as well as set it on fire. She ripped a leg off the bed she had been in, fully intending on using it as a weapon as she set to kill the woman she thought had been torturing her for years, even before the Darkness. The bed leg in her hand turned into the Sword of Darkness as soon as she launched for her. She did not kill her, but that is a story for another time.
The Sword of Darkness has since made more appearances, though all of them had been accidental, causing Scherezade to panic and drop it out of her hands almost as soon as it had appeared.
