Name: Tatiana Mountain Range

Image Source: By DudQuitter on dA

Classification: Mountain Range

Location: On Crina, a western region landmark, the town of Andreea and Crina's shipyards are nearby (Will be posted later)

Size: Medium

Population: There is a decent population due to the mining and nearby towns that supply those town, along with a few noble villas, but there are far fewer settlements than on the Georgeta Plains.

Demographics: Human, small numbers of Crinan's domesticated animals, greater Kath Hounds within the mountain's valleys.

Points of Interest: Crina's largest metal and ore reserves, the nearby city of Andreea and Crina's shipyards.

Description: The Tatiana Mountain range is the largest on all of Crina. As such it is also home to the largest reserves of Crina's metal and ore buried beneath and within the mountains themselves. Many of the towns and villages situated along the base of the mountains are thus either mining or industrial in nature and operation. Other villages beyond them attempt to either act as way stations for supplies coming from the Plains, or as smaller farming communities themselves to provide resources as well.

Within the mountains themselves are a number of mines, abandoned or otherwise, though there are plenty of untapped sources still. The mines themselves are well made as contentment and peace was the primary concern of the world for a long time, and as such miners saw good conditions. During the civil war the rebels also took to establishing several bunkers within the mountains, knowing they provided natural defenses, using both new dug out locations as well as several abandoned mines.

Set up further in the mountains though are a few villas of Crina's noble class, though they fell out of favor during the civil war, and only those who looked over the regions nearby used them as homes. The valleys of the area are also home to many greater kath hounds, as the mountain region is more viable for hunting for these larger creatures where they face less human encroachment than on the plains.

History: Along with the Georgeta Plains, the Tatiana Mountain range was another region of Crina that found itself quickly inhabited as settlements were established by the original colonists, partially due to the fact it was near the original crash site. However, rather than be intended for long term communities as the towns across the plains set themselves up as, the people constructing their homes near the Tatiana mountains did so with the intention in mind of quickly gathering materials for which they could repair their vessel and return to the galaxy once more.

However, as time drew on and it became apparent that they were not leaving the citizens of Crina took to establishing their villages for the long term in the region. These towns would develop into permanent mining or industrial cities, and Andreea in particular would become an important site as it was where the wreck of the original colonists starship lay and eventually become home to Crina's primary shipyard constructed from those remains. The Tatiana Mountain Range would find itself becoming the site of the first of the world's great wars too.

As people fought over the remains in Crina's history as the world was without guidance, many of the conflicts and battles would take place along the Tatiana region as the fighting grew closer and closer to the wreck of the colonial expedition craft. It was only the intervention of Lady Crina at the time that brought an end to the fighting as she established order and peace as well. It as her decisions and policies that lead to the reorganization and better conditions for the mining communities.

The Tatiana region would remain quiet until Andreea's Shipyards were constructed, and mining and industry picked up as the Royal Army and Naval was equipped and Crinan ships were put into production. This would remain the main role of the area until the civil war, as things grew tense once more, though no actual battles occurred outside Nicoleta's raid on Andreea's yards early on in the war. The Mountain Range seeing silence for the remainder of the conflict, though plenty of rebel bunkers were put into service as fallback positions if the war ever went south for them, employed through new dug outs or old abandoned mines. Some of these still exist, though beyond having reinforced walls in addition to the mountain rock they are not an actual installation with defenses.
