The ways of a soldier

Abyss was with the one sith for some time now. In the beginning he had not a lot of praise for the philosophy of the organisation but over time he realized how effective a united sith order was. The one sith became his teachers, and he learned everything he could from books, lords and on the battlefield. He always saw himself as somewhat of a scholar, with an almost academic interest in the force. For a long time this helped him to overcome almost any problem he encountered on his path, either with the powers he learned or because of the sharpness of his mind. Until now. He had meet the crusaders on the battlefield two time by now, and both times their methods showed to be higly effective in combat making some of them as dangerous as a sith.

Abyss was waiting in front of one of the small arenas that the academy had, waiting for the teacher of his lesson would arrive. While he still was learning, he understood what it meant to fight like a sith ... it meant using any tool and skill at hand to bring down an enemy. And being able to understand and use a skill the enemy possessed was a very effective skill for that. A lord had decided to teach him the ways of the soldier.

So Acolyte @Abyss you wish to learn how to fight as soldier, then so be it. She then threw him a pack, in it was a nutrient tube with one those mandalorian lizards in it. She did not have many, and could not really be used in combat. Though it would help serve a purpose here, she was going to sever him from the force, so he had to rely on other things during the training. Now put that on, and tell me when you're ready, as the suddenly losing the force will disorientate you. She then stepped back keeping her distance from him, as she remembered how in previous life, she use to use death sticks, so she could cope when this happened in battle.

Abyss slowly dropped the robe he was wearing from his shoulders, revealing his pale and scared body. The sith was not a mountain of massive muscles like a lot of mandalorian soldiers he had seen, but still his body was defined and strong. In combination with standing almost two meters tall the acolyte still was a impressive sight. He grabed the pack from out of the air as it was thrown to him. With one fluid motion he moved the lizard inside it from the tube on his back. He took a deep breath, allowing his mind a final opportunity to feel the force around him.

"I am ready."

She stepped away from him, not wanting to be in the bubble of that damn infernal creature. She sworn one day she would see them wiped out, or have an effective counter to them. Now you can not use the force, I am going to time you doing an assault course. This course is two miles long, and is done by as part training for the sith troops. How ever you not soldier yet, and I do not expect you to pass there normal combat times. As this is first time without the force to guide you, and you have to rely on other senses that we don't use too often. You have one hour to complete the course, the battle fitness time is only half that. The course stretched in front of him, he had rope fence to climb walls to jump, rope swings, tunnels to go through, even one he had to go underwater. Though the zip wire was fun at the end, she had go on it earlier.

It felt like somehad just cut of Abyss ears and eyes. Without the force he felt naked, weak and slow. Even his mind felt less sharp than normally, the racing thoughts that usually dominated his mind were almost moveless. He turned the the course he would have to master, and for a second he tried to feel the best way through within the force. When he realized that couldn't he noticed for the first time how blind he was. Without the force he lacked the capability to see a path in of task ahead of him. He could already feel how the hate inside him focused on the beast on his back. He had choose to learn and he would fo it ... with or without the force.

It wasn't particular hard to climb the fence, but he had to think about his movement like never had to before. It took him longer than it should have, but finally he jumped down on the ground on the other site.

She followed his progress, this was hard task in front of him, and one she had to do in battle. The fact he volunteered for this training, spoke of his character, knowing what he may face in the future. Having to endure the his sense of the force being cut off, and then to endure an obstacle course, was hard challenge indeed. She watched from distance, he was probably doing better than she would. Though she did once help take down a whole truck load these creatures, which stopped the sith once defending coruscant from the omega republic, though those days are gone. So has coruscant, the only way back now is start a fresh start with new batch of acolytes and hopefully a new order to follow. He had more to do next came a rope wall he need to climb and descend form.

Abyss body felt heavy and his limps moved clumsy as he ventured further. He never realized how much energy he was drawing from the force without thinking about it. It was not event like he was able to amplify his body to the degree a trained user of these techniques could, but still he could feel that without he lost a lot of his power. He still was reasonablely physical strong, but he lacked endurance. When he reached the robes he could already feel his breath becoming heavier. That would not stop him. He moved his hands on the robe, dragging himself from the ground in air. While doing it he began breathing audible, every second gave him more dedication to complete his task. Again he was slower than he would liked but it was faster than before.

She carried walking along side him, she decide to do that rather none sith like thing, she was going to cheer him on. Common on you can do this, keep going, just keep going. She looked ahead she saw the next obstacle in his route, it was tunnel which went under water. He have to hold his breath as he went under, this bit was timed in case he did not do it quick enough. As if he was down there too long, he would die from drowning. She was willing him to do this, she wanted to see him succeed.

A tunnel underwater. The obstacle seemed harder than those before, and Abyss had been underwater only a few times in his life. He was surprised to hear a cheerful sound from the sith lord that was training him. This was not a lection of sith training so it made sense that the typical methods of the sith wouldn't apply here. Reaching the tunnel Abyss dropped to the ground, crawling inside it. With a last deep breath the acolytes entered the water, feeling the oxygen stored in lungs slowly depleting as he moved forwards. He was sure that he would die in her, only his deepest animalistic fears driving him forward. It felt like being reborn as the man dragged himself out of the water towards the end of the tunnel.

As the acolyte came out tunnel, he was drenched. He had now a two mile run to do, it was uphill all the way. At the end of it he find another cargo net, and then a zip wire to finish line. The he find blaster and target range, he had fire the blaster and hit the target three times. This was not race it was test of endurance, by the end if soldier could still fire straight he was fit for battle, if not they where cannon fodder. She kept on track of his progress, willing him as she went.

The water made his pants extremely heavy, slowing the movement of his legs and making walking more exhausting. He knew that he had to be efficient with the endurance he had left, if he wanted to finish the course. He took a deep breath and started to run, reaching the the cargo net in close to 6 minutes. Every muscle was tense and sore, and for the first time in ages he actually felt exhausted. With pure strength of his will, the acolyte dragged himself over the net, as his body began to slowly shut down. When he dropped to the ground he could feel his knees get weak, struggling to support the weight put on them. He made his way to the blaster that had awaited him, grabbing and moving the weapon to get the aim right.

She closed her eyes, and waited to hear the noise of the blaster. Then he would done the course, in a respectable time, for his first time. He would have to do this once a week, to improve also he had access to blaster range to get his accuracy up. After this she would show him wrist blaster, and how it was effective even in a lightsaber duel.

Aiming the blaster was the hardest part of the course to his own surprise. He was no master marksman with the force and still it allowed him the precision needed to hit a target. Without it for the first time he realized that he didn't actually knew how to aim with a rifle. Until know he always relied on his instincts to guide him. He fired his first shot, and by pure chance hit the target. The second one wasn't as easy. It took him 6 shots for the laser bolts to hit their target. The last one was the hardest as it was further away than the ones before. 9 times he pulled the trigger before one shot finally found his way on the target.

Out of breath and exhausted he moved back to the Lord how lead this lesson.

Congratulations @Abyss now take shower, and go and eat and drink. Your time was not that bad, then when you are done. Meet up with the drill sergeant, and he will review your performance. Now let's get that stinkin lizard off you, as it only when your training do you need it. The idea training was to make strong without the force, as at some point he will lose it in battle. So he will be well equipped for that moment, when it happens. As he will trained without it, something she has done herself.

When the strange creature was moved from his back, it was like someone turned the brightness of his vision up a notch. Suddenly he could see the course around him, the ways and paths, the movements needed to complete it a fast as possible. Once again he realised how blind he was, and he knew that he had to learn how to fight without the force to survive.

After a month of training, he was getting better at the assult course. She had also been practicing on the sly, though no one had seen her. As she need to get fitter as well, if she was going to fight battles to come. It was now time to move the acolytes training on, to hand to hand combat. She was in a dojo, dressed in her shock boxing gear. She had lessons and fair few, but no master by any means, though enough to give demonstrations and lessons. She waited in her shorts a vest top, for the acolyte to come for his next lesson. Though she would be fighting dirty, after all he was bigger than her.

Abyss stepped in the dojo, once again only wearing a pair of black trousers, while his scarred and pale upper body was free to allow him maximal agility. After he saw the sith lord he made another few steps towards her, ending his walk in a slight bow.

"It is an honor to train with you once again."

She exchanged the bow with him, and waited for him to get she was going to wait for him to try and get in the ring. As soon as he did she was going to give him flying kick, and try and knock him back out of the ring. Whilst in the ring, neither of them could use the force thanks to one those things under the canopy of the ring. She waited for him to climb into the ring, and she was ready for him.

Abyss took a slow step forward, taking the time to crack each of his knuckles. He was taller, and maybe even stronger in a physical sense, but he knew that the strength of a sith lord was far more than just muscles. Even without the force most of them were cunning and ruthless, skilled in a myriad of fighting styles that could range from martial arts to dirty tricks straight to a bar brawl. The kick was to fast to react, he had just entered the ring only to be pushed out right afterwards. He was slightly proud that he managed to stay on his feet.

Now get in ring, and remember there are no rules. She then put her mouthguard in, to protect her teeth. Then got into a shock boxing stance, ready to fight him as he came in. He was bigger stronger than her, but she did have speed and training on her side. Also a very fast knee, which is something she learned before she was even an acolyte. She would let him in this time, and then ready herself for his attack.
