Eager was always an interesting word that could be used for many different scenarios. One could be waiting eagerly with much enthusiasm for something exciting to happen. Another could be eager to start a new journey filled with hope and promise. Another could be eager but was anxious and impatient for a meeting to begin so they can all go home or begin implementing plans for the safety of their own people. Eagerness was a word that was not at all used to describe Raven. In fact, someone could almost say that she was the opposite of eager, because she knew that sometimes eagerness was not the way to start any kind of negotiations. Especially considering the type of eagerness that they could potentially be dealing with the moment that they entered the room.

The problem with warring tribes, families and even parties, was that they got to that point because of their egos and egos consisted of many things, like land, money and public perception. If one got attacked by another, protocols of a high figure, demanded that they make an example of the one who had socially-perceived them to be slighted by. Then the other would have to do the same thing and then the circle of chaos would continue to reign down upon everyone involved. Murder, thieving, social slights and attempts at chopping the other person down. It was a vicious circle and often would lead to the two sides usually destroying each other, only to cancel the both out and allow for new families to be born from the ashes. Tensions would still be the same until one or the other start the cycle all over again.

Raven always prided herself upon her self image, with her immaculate dress and the way that her bored look never once seemed to slide from her face. Yet, she knew all about the intricacies of war and how politics was the very breeding grounds for such an endeavor. After all, she did hail from the Winterhall Vampirika bloodline. One where they prided themselves on the fact that they were skilled fighters and yet she hadn’t had to do much of that in her recent years of being awake. Although, the woman would have to think about when she might sleep for a time. Yet that time was not quite there, for Felacat was still very much too exposed and she would not leave it in such a state. So, for now, she played her political part and would take on board the current situation that she now found herself in.

Quietly, she released the umbrella for its position so then it could close up and handed it over to Nadia. The woman would then move to seat herself within the chair that was situated upon the left side of Faye Malvern and she leaned to the left while her left arm rose so then she could rest her elbow upon the arm rest, while her palm floated upwards to face towards the ceiling. Her chin, however, rested upon the palm while her emotionless expression seemed to take in the men and women before her. Nadia and Nala, took up their positions on the outskirts of the room, to hide deep within the shadows. With each second that passed, the Vampiress was taking on board the current situation at hand. Assessing the different emotions that presented itself within the room and she could definitely see the tension in the room, just by looking at the body postures.

She hoped that they wouldn’t have to do too much intervening on their behalf, for if the two warring parties didn’t do most of the work, then there was always the potential problem of a reoffending. Then they would have to be called in once more to settle such issues all over again. Perhaps, there could be a way to settle it without too much interference on their behalf?

Redd felt the thrill of the hunt pump her forwards as the adrenaline pulsated through her body and she felt the bloodthirsty hunger upon her tongue. It was a need to kill and rip open her prey as if it was a mere chew toy. To feel the warm, thick liquid that would cover her tongue and matte her red fur, only to add an extra layer of crimson red to the thick coat that covered her entire body. To say that the red wolf thrived under the heat of the battle, was an understatement; especially when there was a physical target that she could sink her pearly whites into. For there was some sick satisfaction that she got when she could feel her targets writhe with the pain and hear the screams that would end in a choking gurgle as the windpipe was crushed between her powerful jaws.

To listen to the heartbeat accelerate with fear, only for its pace to slow down with each second that the victim’s blood filled their lungs and cut off the supply of air to the brain. To feel her claws shred into the stomach and tear out the intestines was a secret pleasure that she derived from it, a secret pleasure that the wolf got a high from. It was a high that took quite a long time to come down from and by then she hoped to be back on the ship with Haastal, only to enjoy a different kind of pleasure. One that would finally exhaust her in more ways than one. The fact that she was already shifting, rather than waiting for more guidance from Gerwald, wasn’t his fault. She just had an itch that she was itching to scratch and she had only briefly glanced his way as his words cut off, before moving into a sprint.

Her paws slammed into the ground and pushed her forwards, while her ears pressed back against her head. She barely felt the breeze through her fur as her armour was now protecting her furry hide from potential attacks and although it was a bonus, the red wolf also had to make sure that each attack she did wasn’t going to be hindered in any way by the plates. It was also heavier, which meant that she also had to pay attention to the fact that it required her to exert more energy than normal and although with every stride, she felt the weight, it was a weight that she was growing more and more used to as the days passed by. For it was the weight of Mandalorian armour and she took such a responsibility on with a seriousness that surprised even her. Yet, such a thing felt… right

Was it because of her Mandalorian mate? It was hard to say and not something that she even bothered to think of, for her mind was on one thing and one thing only. Hunting.

With every inhale, she quickly exhaled and with each intake of breath, her paws stretched out and carried her forwards while her body elongated and her muscles stretched out to help with the forwards momentum. Golden eyes spied the man that toppled over the cliff and she saw her Mate crouched behind the speeder. A snarl was pulled from the lupine as she drew upon the force and pushed it into her paws which only carried her further forwards. Her mind quickly began to calculate the jump necessary to get up to the raised terrain above as she ran straight past Haastal. A dart to the left saw her dodging a blaster bullet and the wolf weaved as she neared. She could hear the sounds of curses as they began to cry wolf and she felt a sense of pride worm through her as she smelled their fear.

One step, two steps, Redd braced herself as she dug her hind legs in and then leaped forwards as she used the force to jump higher than what was conceived normal. The one she was leaping towards, was theoretically hitting his blaster pistol as it seemed to jam and just when he pulled it back up to aim at the wolf, her teeth sank into his exposed throat. Her lupine body slammed into him with the momentum that she had built up and sent him flying backwards as her teeth sliced through skin, sinew, veins and flesh. The blaster bullet that the man had managed to get off, was knocked off course which was aimed for her stomach and instead hit the shoulder plate of her Beskar’gam.

Pandemonium suddenly reigned supreme. It was times like these that the Fleet Marshal was at his calmest. While the others were all scrambling to keep their footing as the platform shook, he rode it out with the same grace with which he performed all his movements. A slight bend of the knees allowed him to keep his footing.

When the riders had made their presence known, he did follow Vikaar's order, but not for himself. He moved to grab hold of Mila Uhlesifa Mila Uhlesifa and pull her behind another pylon opposite the one which Vikaar was crouching behind.
"Whatever you do, do not get hit or caught." he told her before looking back at their assailants that had so very clearly ambushed them.

He merely lifted an eyebrow as Aadya Volke Aadya Volke leapt off the platform to take on a rider mid air. At least she got her wish to ride a bird. He was surprised, however, when Vikaar told them to fire. That was a risky business and best not attempted with a blaster pistol. He had enough presence of mind to know the weapon lacked the accuracy of a rifle. So he focused on strengths.
"Mr. Vikaar! I need cover fire!" he called to him, unsheathing his two vibroswords as he did so.

Setting his sights on the fleft-wauf that was trying to get their ship off the platform, he moved forward in a blur of movement. When he reached the ship, he gave a push off the ground, stepping against the ship once to propel him forward before embedding a sword in the fleft-wauf's head before its rider realised what was happening. The rider toppled to the platform as his mount went down. Vemric landed gracefully on the ground before proceeding to the fallen rider, slicing his throat on the run just as the man was starting to get up.

Straightening up, he looked around for his next target.

Mila was pulled behind cover, and told not to get shot nor captured, which she thought was unnecessary to say but she wasn’t going to let that stop her from obeying. She ducked behind cover, and looked in her pouch for something useful. She had a few vials of various chemicals, some measuring instruments, a calculator, a notebook and pen, and a few empty vials for mixing and collecting.

She got what she thought would be helpful, and put together magnesium powder and potassium nitrate into a vial and called, “close you’re eyes!”

Then she rolled the vial out and a loud bang and bright flash that would temporarily blind anyone who saw it. She hoped that her allies were a lemon to close their eyes in time.

Excellent news, Jie thought. This is exactly how things should be going. He should be in the middle of an aggressively combustible atmosphere surrounded by winged-beasts that needed shooting, an altogether set of circumstances that didn't warrant any amount of money, let alone blind loyalty to follow.

Blind was the optimum word as a large explosion of light and noise masked his vision for a indiscernible amount of time. He swore. Very loudly. He knew better than to fire aimlessly, lest he hit a fellow combatant. His hands gripped his rifle tighter, making sure not to lose it in the commotion.

At this stage, however, he decided the best thing to do was pray to some unknown being that he wouldn't spend his last few moments being swallowed whole or pecked apart from an overgrown Whiforlan.

Aadya whooped as she fired her Sidearm and another rider fell from their Fleft-wauf, just as she looked to her comrades while the beast circled around the ship. She watched with pale blue eyes as they began to slowly but surely pick off those who had surprised them, but the woman was unsure about whether or not they could hold off this attack and disarm the bombs. Slowly she drew in a deep breath as her steady heart seemed to beat in time to the steady rhythm of the beast that she sat upon. Pale fingers of her free hand caressed the white and grey feathers of the bird, that was until she saw and heard Mila’s words.

”Chit!” The woman cursed as she gripped a hold of the saddle straps while she commanded the bird to bank hard and rise. She felt the wings began to beat hard around them as they rose further up into the sky. Higher and higher they climbed, until they were high enough out of the blast zone. The air was much thinner where they were, but because Aadya had a breathing mask on, it didn’t so much as worry her. However, what did worry her as she peered off into the distance, was the reinforcements that was coming to back up the first wave. ”Oh for the love of the universe, more? They are going to get slammed if we don’t do something Ducky.” Aadya said to the bird as she peered down and could barely see the ground.

Well, it was suicide, but the lupine was going to have to snatch someone off the ground and hope to hell they didn’t shoot at them. Dive! She said to the Fleft-wauf and with one great beat, Ducky pulled her wings in and fell like a bag of bricks. The woman heard the wind rush passed them and listened as it ruffled the feathers of her new companion, a companion she was now determined to breed. However such a thought didn’t linger long as the beast’s wings flared out to halt their fall before they hit the ground. Such an action would cause a stream of wind to knock down anyone on the ground with the sheer velocity of wind that it created. Ducky would then bank to the right, as the brown haired woman gripped the strap of the saddle, only to reach out and grab a man dressed in Mandalorian armour from the ground.

With a great deal of effort, she pulled him up onto the back of the Fleft-wauf, just as the bird began to climb once more. ”Don’t shoot!” Aadya yelled and continued on. ”I need your help! I’m a fellow CIS member and if we don’t get to the bombs now, we face some serious trouble! Anyone that’s on the ground and in the air will die!” The lupine paused for a moment as she envisioned where she wanted the bird to go and the bird screeched as it lurched forwards towards the intended destination. ”My team got held up and they are buried deep in battle with fleft-waufs and riders! It’s up to you and me to get to the bombs and disarm them before this place gets blown to smithereens!” She paused as she gripped a hold of the straps of the saddle that she sat in and dug her feet deep into the stirrups. The woman hoped to hell that this Mandalorian had balance or would grab a hold of her as she leaned forwards, because this bird was about to fly. ”Hold on!” Aadya said followed by a maniac laugh as she whooped and hollered just as the bird lurched forwards and began beating its wings faster.

FIGHT ON

Haastal was doing what he did best when the giant beast came barreling down from the skies.

He'd been propped up behind a rock, loading a fresh clip into his blaster rifle as a great gust of wind flowed down over the terrain. The Mandalorian let out a number of curses as the winds rocked his footing, causing him to stumble back from his cover.

Everything from there occurred so fast it may as well have been a blur in the man's mind. He felt an arm hoist him up from the ground, pulling him onto the back of one of the great beasts. It was instinctual, yet a fluid motion. His free hand fell to his holster, pulling the blaster from it and shifting before aiming the barrel of the blaster to the temple of the woman who had pulled him from the ground. "I'll gut you quick, queen!" However, he quickly arched a brow from under his helmet. He tapped the power supply on his blaster as he exhaled in realization.

"Don't ever do any shit like that again." He breathed, calling out to her as he tapped his helmet to adjust his IFF sequencer. When he realized exactly what was occuring with the woman he nodded his helmet silently. "Then get us to the bombs." He told her.

Haastal wrapped a single arm around the woman's waist to steady himself before checking the blaster pistol in his hand. He slipped the blaster back into the holster before looking to the woman in front of him.

"Name's Haastal. Get me low and close and I can sweep 'em out. Two passes and then we can move on the bombs." He told her.

Aadya’s response, probably wasn’t normal. In fact, when she felt the barrel of the weapon press to her temple, the woman all but laughed as she rolled her eyes and peered at the man for a moment with a smirk upon her lips. ”Here is the thing, I don’t really care if you shoot me, but you will. Why? Well, I’m currently connected to the beastie that we are riding on through The Force. You shoot me, I’ll be dead and I won’t have to deal with the horrible death of being tossed off or taking a nose dive right into the ground below. You kill me, you sign your death warrant.” The woman said with a chuckle as the bird continued on its flight path. She wasn’t the type to be afraid of a gun being pointed at her, in fact she got a sense of thrill from it, but she wondered about the man underneath the helmet. If only for a moment.

”Look, our mission isn’t to worry about the others, they may have been surprised by the attack, but they can handle themselves. Besides, we are flying one of their Fleft-waufs. We can fly in under their radar. So, we get in and out virtually undetected; which means it should be smooth sailing and I’m not giving them this bird back.” She said with a chuckle as she patted the bird’s neck and urged it forwards faster. So his name was Haastal. She couldn’t remember where the wolf had heard it from before, but she was sure that she would remember one day. However, her attention returned back to the task at hand as the bird flew towards the fields of Tibana gas, where she leaned backward upon the mount and slowed the advance of the bird. With a hand upon its neck, the bird gently swooped down low and gracefully set down.

Rows upon rows of gas pipe lines ran along the field and the woman couldn’t help but shake her head as she spoke into the commlink. ”Haastal, be careful and make sure to use your air, because this air is filled with toxic gas. Also, the mission brief said that there were mines everywhere, with about ten improvised explosive devices scattered all over this field. We don’t know if they are set to timers, so we have to work fast.” Aadya said as she slipped off of the Fleft-wauf’s back. The bird screeched as it dipped it’s mighty head down to nudge the lupine and the woman stroked the bird’s beak for a moment. ”Just because the main force is occupied, doesn’t mean that there aren’t any ground forces still keeping an eye on things. I’ll be sending Ducky back up into the sky. She will keep an eye out for us and alert us to any ground or sky forces, so don’t shoot her.”

A pause followed her words as she silently spoke to the bird, all the while stroking its beak with one hand while the other gently patted the beast’s neck. There had been an instant connection with the beast that no one could deny, but still the mission was more important and she sent the bird to the skies. With one final screech, Ducky spread her wings and was soon leaping back into the sky. With that the woman turned to view her companion, whether or not she trusted his abilities was irrelevant. She just had to believe that he could get the job done. Which was odd, because most people probably doubted her abilities. ”Divide and conquer, yeah?” She queried as she moved to unholster her KO sidearm, only to pause and add. ”Oh, by the way, my name is Aadya from the Snowfire Pack.” The woman said in an offhand tone as she winked and began to move away from the man.

As the woman explained the situation, bringing the great beast down along the massive pipelines in the middle of the field. As the creature rested on the ground, Haastal leaped over the side of the beast to rest onto the ground. Almost immediately he checked his blaster pistol for a final time before looking to Aadya. He synced his helmets comm device to the woman's own channel before nodding at what the woman said.

"Just keep your eyes open. We don't need a stray bolt slamming into one of these pipes." He said, gesturing to one of the pipes that laid a few meters away from them.

The woman who stepped in front of Haastal was different, yet similar. He knew nothing of her, never met her, but something about the way she moved and spoke was eerily familiar. Then she said one thing that caused his eyes to quirk under his helmet.

Pack. He turned to the woman and spoke softly, trying to keep his focus on the path they had before them. Haastal walked past the woman, leading the way down the pipeline as he spoke to her. "Snowfire Pack. You're a Lupine too?" He asked her. Haastal knew there were more Lupine in the galaxy aside from Redd, but it still seemed strange that he'd meet another one of them here.

"Small world." He muttered in return.

The woman rolled her eyes as he mentioned a stray bolt. ”I’m a dead eye, so there won’t be any stray bolts coming from my weapons. Besides, my shotgun will not be used at all down here, too many variables to control.” She said as she looked up at the beast that flew above their heads and she couldn’t help but admire the beast who seemed to be a loyal thing even though she killed its original owner. Her steps were light as the man seemed to pass her as if leading the way. With a quiet shake of her head, she pulled out the datapad real quick as her fingers darted across the screen and sent the schematics of the field to him. ”I’ve sent you the file for the schematics of the field.” The lupine said as she heard him make a note of her species.

”Don’t get hung up on the fact that I’m lupine. I’m more human than wolf and I don’t need a pack. I’m a lone wolf and I work better that way.” Aadya muttered as she ducked her head and put away the datapad, only to see an IED tucked under the pipe close to a support beam. ”I got one. You continue on to the next one.” The woman said softly as she grabbed a hold of a dagger and slid under the pipe to check out the bomb. ”Good news is, it’s not operated by a timer. Bad news is, is that it’s operated by a remote detonator. So these bad boys could go off at any time.” She said as she worked off the panel to the explosive and began to work at disarming the bomb with quick and steady movements of the hands.

The brown wolf handled extreme pressure well, in fact she thrived on it. While some people may be sweating bullets and praying that they didn’t get blown up; she on the other hand was solely focused upon the job at hand. A job that required her full attention. Once the device was disabled, she pulled it clear of the pipe, only to tuck it into a pouch. She would dispose of it properly once they were back at base. ”One down, nine more to go.” The lupine said as she went to work on finding more. Although the devices didn’t have timers, it also meant that there wasn’t a set time for them to go off and not knowing when they would go off, was a problem, because no timer meant that every second that they spent looking for the devices meant that it could just simply blow without any notice. So the hope was that the operator was being kept busy by the others of her party.

Pale blue eyes turned towards the bird, but it simply continued to circle above them without making a sound. Her steps took her around a mine that was half buried under some dirt and continued on. The two had to be quick and efficient. One false move and not only would they die, but the others that they had come with would probably also die along with them. Did she care? It was hard to tell, for the wolf kept all of that on lockdown as she located yet another bomb and quietly set about disabling the device. Silence was all that the man would hear as she worked. However as she knelt down by the third device located on the side of a pipe and popped the panel, Ducky let out a loud screech, a screech which didn’t sound close to her and she hovered for a moment. Her gaze shifted from the device and looked to make sure she was clear. ”Haastal, you good?” She queried over the commlink as she moved to disable and remove the device.

The Mandalorian heard a soft chime that came from his helmet. Almost immediately his HUD uploaded a schematic of the area. With a rapid series of blinks the schematic floated at the bottom of his screen so it was not nearly as distracting. He crept forward at a careful pace, keeping his blaster pistol ready at the side while still trying to maintain some control. One wrong blast and they would enjoy a wonderful death. As they moved down the pipeline the Mandalorian listened to the woman's words, but he didn't actually seem to understand them. He came to a stop, glancing back at her from under his visor. "Lone wolf, huh?" He regarded before continuing on the path. "Sounds like a good way to die alone." He said.

"My girl is a Lupine so I don't really give a damn if you are one or not...Just funny I ran into another one is all." He said, before his eyes caught sight of a split in the path. He jerked his head, turning down the more narrow of the two options. They were forced to squeeze between two extremely close pipes. So close that Haastal's armor occasionally tapped against the metal pipe casing. They finally made it to a location where one of the explosives were hidden. Haastal nodded at Aadya's words before making his way along the path. He found a similar device and crouched down in front of it. "Man...I hate messin' with explosives." He muttered before tapping a button on his wrist. His hand began to illuminate with a light blue light. The Mandalorian held the light out to the explosive and almost immediately the device chimed in response before powering off. He quickly pulled the device from the pipeline. When Aadya said that the explosives could go off anytime that made Haastal chuckle a bit. "Figures."

The two continued down, however they did manage to seperate a bit. Haastal began disarming another of the devices when he heard a chime in on his comm. He ignored it for a moment, settling his illuminated hand on the device once again to deactivate its systems. When the system finally went offline he tapped the button to his comm. "Yea, I'm just a little ahead. Just worry about these bombs, not me." He said, before moving on to the next explosive.

The routine continued for a while longer. The two would comb the pipeline, searching for those bombs that had been attached to the side of the pipes. Ten in total were found and not after long the two were making their way back down the pipeline. On Haastal's comm he could hear the chatter on the line. The operation had gone well. "Sounds to me like our business here is done. Bombs cleared and the natives have been taken care of." He tapped into the system on his gauntlet once more before looking to Aadya. "I'll get us a transport off this rock." He said with a simple finality before plugging into the main Confederate comm.

What future may come from war and destruction?

For the people of Taloraan, the Defrandi & the fearless Wind Rider tribes, there has never been a certain answer to this question. With the Confederate delegation arriving to serve as the arbitrary force between these two forces some small peace has been found. A peace that will be wholly and officially recognized by The Confederacy of Independent Systems. As The Confederacy prepared to welcome the world of Taloraan into its open arms, few could tell what the future would hold. With the threat to the world's Tibana Gas pipeline handled and those responsible placed in custody The Confederacy was eager to usher in a new age of prosperity upon this world.

Only time could tell what would become of this peace.
