Description - The Zerrwagon is an antique war barge owned by the droid mercenary known as ZERR, a Xim-era war robot who survived the fall of his first master's empire and has gone on to witness tens of thousands of years of history. Roughly the same age as its owner, the ship was jokingly dubbed the Zerrwagon by one of ZERR's organic associates, the ancient droid deciding to continue using the name as he could think of nothing better himself.
Originally built during the reign of Xim as a transport for important war materiel during the Hutt-Xim conflict, the Zerrwagon was taken as war booty by the Hutts after the Third Battle of Vontor, and was pressed into their service for many centuries as a treasure ship. The vessel was eventually sold to outside interests, and bounced from owner to owner in the Outer Rim until ZERR's manumission, whereupon the droid acquired it at near scrap value, restoring it to fighting condition and using it as his personal transport.
ZERR has bothered with few major modifications to the Zerrwagon over the years, and the vessel remains nearly stock, possessing its original concussion missile launcher and quartet of heavy pulse-wave cannons as armament. Possessing no deflector screens of any kind, the ship's primary defense is its thick kiirium armor plating, an antiquated by effective form of protection which still offers a great deal of security against the medium laser cannons and concussion missiles of at least starfighters and most other freighters.
Primitive in form and layout, the Zerrwagon was designed as a heavy freighter, and is capable of carrying a respectable 75,000 tons of cargo, despite its age. Its class 4 hyperdrive - while considered fast when ZERR fitted it centuries ago - is hardly quick by modern standards, however, and its sublight performance is if anything worse, with very sluggish handling and a low top speed, especially in atmospheres. Even so, the ship's antiquated systems have proved stupendously reliable, with ZERR rarely ever having to perform maintenance on the huge transport. The vessel has a hangar bay with room for two shuttles, though the war droid only keeps an old Conductor-class landing craft inside.
ZERR has modified the Zerrwagon to be flown and maintained by only himself. The ship has served as the droid's home for millennia, and its cabins and corridors are packed with items ZERR has acquired over the years, including archaic weapons, art, technology and media in various formats. Of note, the ship contains a library wherein reside many pre-Republic era texts, among others; they are the envy of any university, though ZERR seldom shares his collections with anyone.
