There's a Fly in my Soup! [Elpsis]

[member="Elpsis Kallikora"]

She felt more alive than ever, especially after breakfast. "Another party? you will kill me", she joked, but the idea was solid enough especially if it was at the casino with the possibility of making some much needed coin. Abaigeal pushed aside her plate and drank the remain dregs of Caf from the mug.

"Lets go and make some money", she stood up after placing a credit chip on the table to cover breakfast. It was true the credits are dwindling that was evident by the lack of them in her pocket now.

"A smuggling run sound like a solid idea as well, not that my ship can carry anything, but it depends on the 'cargo'". she had remember her mother's previous occupation before joining the than CIS, she had smuggled valuable artifacts, force and non force alike, and sold them to the highest bidder, so her A-Wing was perfect for that, being fast and powerful .. just in case.

"So lets go have some more fun before we organised a business deal?".

"Sure. Sounds good. I know just the place to have fun and make some money," Elpsis said cheerfully. Verily, that was beyond any doubt the ideal combination! In any case Elpsis finished what was left of the stimcaf in her mug. On second thought, maybe having her drink caf was not a good idea. After all, she was already terribly hyper without it...but too late now.

"Come on. Let's go," said to Abaigeal before getting up, tossing a couple credit chits onto the couple for a waitress to pick up. It might sound totally implausible, but even though most of the town had partied through the night the streets were still packed with people once more. Again, Zeltros must be the perfect planet to make a killing if you happen to own a company that manufactures cleaning droids. Nonetheless, it did not take long for our heroines to reach their destination. Thank the Force Zeltros was such a liberal planet!

As the two walked up to the casino, Abaigeal could not help to notice the impressive facade. A little to colourful for her liking but screamed for people to enter it. Through a large window you could see many people already loosing their life savings on machines and tables, or pushing fist fulls of credits into the strings of those on the dance platforms. "This place never stops or sleeps does it?", she said widening her eyes at the thought of it all. Stay here on Zeltros long enough and it will kill you one way or another.

"Ok so what is the plan?, I can see there is plenty of 'opportunity' to be had in there". She doubt it would be like Nal Hutta, but you never know, if Elpsis was to use her 'talent' in cards, the worse that could happen would be they would be thrown out? or maybe jailed. If Elpsis wanted her to watch her back once more she would do it. But Abaigeal fancied her hand at those 'slot' machines, a little slight of hand using the force and those machines would pay out. Unless of course they have some sort of 'lock' to force users.

"Nope, guess it doesn't. Stay here long enough and you go nuts or broke or both, but there's fun to be had," Elpsis said cheerfully. Wherever you looked you could see both natives and offworlders indulging in gambling and debauchery. Losing their life savings on a machine or at a pazaak game, filling the thongs of dancers with credits. There was even a fight club built like a small arena where the guests could amuse themselves by watching fighters beat the hell out of each other - and obviously place bets.

Participating in such a fights was actually an option for gamblers low on their luck, since they could help encourage other people to gamble! Hearing Aba's question Elpsis thought for a moment as she looked across the massive casino. So many opportunities to be had, so little time. Well, that and they only had a limited amount of credits with them. For a moment Elpsis stopped, rubbing at her head slightly.

Sometimes empathy was a queen and in this case the collective onslaught of emotions and desires was producing a tidal wave that came crashing into her head. As much as she did not like showing it, it hurt a lot. Having the anger and desperation of a gambler who had just lost all his savings and now had to become a wage slave flood your mind was not pleasant. Now multiply that a lot of times and add all the hopes and desires of plenty of other people who were eagerly applying themselves, hoping that they would get lots of credits the cheap way.

Suffice to say, it sucked a lot. Deep breaths, breath in, breath out, focus, so she told herself in what was by now a mantra. Slowly she tried to focus and blot the voices out. Back in the bar the emotional onslaught had been pleasurable and spurred on her lust, now it was just plain annoying. "You wanna try out the slot machines? I can watch your back," she suggested after she opened her eyes again.

"Slot machines? you know that just seems to easy somehow. It would not take much to manipulate the machines in our favour. Maybe that could be the last resort for credits but lets try something else first, I thought I might try my luck at the fight club?", she turned to Elpsis with a wide smile. But the smile quickly vanished as Abaigeal noticed the look on her friend's face.

"What is it? what is the matter?", Elpsis looked like she was in some pain and Abaigeal could sense her trying to focus to block something out. "Are you... are you overwhelmed with to many people around?", Abaigeal was starting to put the pieces together now with her friend.

"We can leave it you like. You might have to consider finding someone to help you with this, I know you don't like the idea of it but maybe you should get some help".

And so we are back with another episode on the Abaigeal and Elpsis express! Ouch. Her head hurt, though it was fortunately less painful than it had been a few moments ago. It still bloody sucked. Deep breaths, she could deal. At least so Elpsis thought while she rubbed her head.

If she had stayed with the Jedi longer or found someone to teach her - like her mother - Elpsis would have probably had an easier time dealing with the empathic overload her mind was being subjected to. However, that would not have been cool and edgy, so she had to pay the price. "I'm fine. Just...crowds overwhelmn me sometimes. All their emotions hit me. I can deal," Elpsis grunted. She removed her flask and took a long gulp from it. That seemed to calm her down. Eyes focused on Aba and for a moment the redhead had the slightly bizarre impression that she looked...different. Admittedly she had a hard time focusing so maybe this was just her mind playing tricks on her.

"Fight club sounds fun. If you wanna go bash heads, I'll watch your back. Gives me something nice to look at!" At the fighting ring in question there seemed to be a lull as an announcer called for new volunteers to step in the ring and have at it. In the light of the fact that several individuals in the casino were down on their luck and in debt, he would probably have willing fighters soon

As they walked into the fight club, so many people around of all races lined the walls and the ring. The announcer calling for anyone to put up a fight. Most of the people there wanting to recoup losses, in some form or other, either by fighting or gambling and so the mix could be dangerous. No one had ventured into the ring .. "It is not my back I am worried about", she said with a smile. "Keep an eye on my front", she winked cheekily.

Abaigeal moved forward and pushed her way through the crowd until she reached the ring. Lifting the ropes and stepping onto the white surface of the fight area, she walked around and looked into the crowd. Not that she could see much, as the lights blinded her to the surroundings. But she could sense people.

Some of the people laughed as she entered obvious that she had volunteered and now looked for a contender. "So who wants a piece of this!", she yelled indicting for herself. While waiting Abaigeal went to the corner and called over Elpsis, she handed her her lightsaber and blaster a concealed as possible.

"Ok. Your chest then...and your eyes," Elpsis said brightly. Clearly she was in the mood for lame innuendo again. She followed Abaigeal through the crowd as she made her way to the ring. The last fight had only been a few moments ago, but already the crowd was hungering and baying for a new round.

Nonetheless Elpsis was wary as she made her way through the throng and, after Aba's dramatic declaration, discreetly took her lightsabre and blaster, hiding them inside her leather jacket. There was a rumble in the crowd and some whistled at Aba. Undoubtedly bets were already being made and credits were being exchanged as they waited for someone to rise up and challenge her. "Come on, don't be shy, friends. A challenger has come forth. Who will step into the ring and fight her? Hundreds of people are watching you. They demand...a fight!" the announcer declared dramatically.

Finally a tall, muscular fellow dressed in a poorly fitting tank top and a pair of pants stepped forward. The crowd immediately parted as he lifted the ropes and stepped into the ring. Clearly Aba would not have to complain about lack of attention or not being taken seriously! Judging by the noise many people wanted a piece of her.

I have a bad feeling about this.

Her thoughts as she saw the hulk of a man enter the ring as her challenger. She cast a look toward Elpsis, her eyes spoke to her Me and my big mouth.

Abaigeal began to move around the ring, sizing up the guy which was not difficult to do considering his size, quite simply .. he is big, very very big. But as the saying goes, the bigger they are the harder they fall. At least that is what she clung to for reassurance now.

But the guy was a seasoned fighter, said nothing to her yet as he too walked around the ring, with a smile on his face. She assumed he thought her an easy beat, which might just be the truth of it. Abaigeal searched through the force, one blessing .. he is not a force user.

The bell rang indicating the first round and Abaigeal ran. Ducking and weaving as the guy came for her, she watched his foot movements, nimble for a large man, but his upper body reacted slower due to his big bulk, however she did not wish to be hit by one of his fists. They are the size of her entire face.

Pushing the force to her arms, Abaigeal formed a fist and as she ducked she sent a crunching punch to his ribs. She met nothing but a wall of flesh and pain shot up her arm from the impact. That hurt, that really bloody hurt.

She needed another plan.

Well, sod it. Unfortunatey, Elpsis could only watch and not intervene whilst Aba faced Arnie. Well, presumably he was not called that in this reality, but whatever. At least he was not a force-user. This she felt when she tried to stretch out with her powers and get a reading on him, but that was the only upside.

She could also not send any telepathic encouragement to Aba since she did not know how to do that. So she could only watch, when the massive hulk once again came at her friend. Much as she would have liked to step in by setting his enormous fist. The crowd seemed to have been put in a jovial mood by the display. There were jeers and shouts, some cheering for the hunk, others for Aba. She kept an eye on them, watching out for any signs that things might go awry. Whilst trying to ignore the painful throbbing in the back of her head that heralded the start of another headache.
