There's a Strength in Letting Go (Siobhan)

The redhead sniffled softly against Sio. "That's what this feels like. Hurts ... so bad. And it's ... it's different. Andreas ... He still loved me. He ... he was taken from me, never to be in my life again." If only she knew those words weren't exactly true. Soon enough there would be portals that she could travel to, and speak with Andreas again. "I don't know ... Sarge is still going to be in my life in some regard. Still going to have to see him from time to time in the Protectorate as I have duties there. Never had heartbreak like this. Gods, or disappointment. To think all these years, I've been lucky that no one has let me down before, truly disappointing me." Sighing softly she went on, "Still, I understand how much it hurt you. And I guess ... you managed to find love and a family after all of that." The redhead still wasn't that hopeful of her own future.

She happily let Sio wipe the tears away, grateful for the comfort of her embrace. Coryth nodded, "Thank you." She whispered. "Sounds wonderful, dear."

"I still believe you will find love again. Maybe not like Andreas...there's no replacing, no forgetting your first love, but I believe you will. In a different way. You're too amazing not to," Siobhan said as soothingly as she could. Andreas aroused conflicting emotions in Siobhan. Not because she disliked the man, but rather because she liked him too much. When she felt Coryth's profound sense of loss, sometimes it felt like she was feeling her own loss...even though all this was because she had the redhead's memories in her head.

She gave Coryth a kiss on the cheek, seeking to banish her own identity issues from her mind. "I swear...I'll do my utmost never to disappoint you, angel," she said in what was almost a whisper. Never make promises you cannot keep.

Coryth nodded, a heavy sigh following. "You might just have to believe for me for a while." Not really ready to believe it herself, not when she still hurt so much. "No, there won't be another like him. Andreas always will be in my heart. It's not like I stopped loving him just because he passed away. Still regret all that led to his death." That, was something she could not let go of. She couldn't help but fault herself for his death.

Coryth tried to smile as Sio kissed her cheek. Shifting a little further up in bed, she pressed her head against Siobhan's forehead. "Thank you for that." With one last sigh, Coryth closed her eyes, hoping sleep would come easily to her, but she highly doubted it.

"Nothing to thank me for, dear. Jus try to sleep," and so Siobhan held Coryth in a close, though not choking embrace, and closed her eyes, trying to find some sleep. Siobhan's empathy was terribly weak and unrefined compared to that of the master empath, but she tried to use what meagre abilities she had to let her energies flow towards Coryth. It was an attempt to calm her a bit and ease her sleep, somewhat. Not much by far, but the least she could do for her dear friend, lover...well, at this point they were beyond labels.

Coryth nodded slowly not replying beyond that this time. With one more sigh, tears fell again though silently. The small woman did feel Siobhan trying to offer her what assistance she could, empathically. Something she couldn't complain about in the least. It would be a while longer before Coryth actually fell asleep. The redhead certain needed a night of peaceful sleep after this. But there was never a guarantee that would happen on any given night. Her gift still uncontrollably in her sleeping hours.

The short stack of fire's empathy was spiralling out of control. Needless to say this was quite problematic for Siobhan. Thanks to her Force Bond with Coryth, she had manifested a comparatively extremely weak form of Empathy. It made her slightly more empathic to the feelings of others, probably a bit less rash and hade some actual application, though it was mostly limited to her bond sisters in that regard. However, it was obviously nothing compared to the power Coryth possessed, especially since the little redhead was a natural empath who did not need the Force for it.

And so she reeled as she flooded by the tidal wave of emotions spiralling from Coryth. For this mment at least, Siobhan felt everything the redhead did. The sorrow that was coming off her in waves, her disappointment and heartbreak, the raw pain at how Sarge, her supposed friend, had failed her, the pain at losing Andreas. It was, plain and simply, too much for her mind to blot out an attempt to erect her walls proved futile. A painful throbbing began in her skull as a headache announced itself. "Coryth," she spoke, breathing heavily as she felt as if she was drowning in the mental flood, though she still hold on to her.

Somewhere light years away, Elpsis felt suddenly shot up in her bed, eyes wide as she was brutally and mercilessly thrust out of her dream. She had been sleeping so peacefully, something that was admittedly very rare for her, until she was suddenly flooded by what she could only describe as a massive tidal wave of pain, sorrow and sadness. On far too strong for the dam that was her mind to hold back. Feeling groggy and with sweat having accumulated on her brow, she breathed in heavily, trying to make sense of things as she rubbed her eyes.

Then losing no time, she instinctively checked that the blaster and knife were still under her pillow. She had seen her again. The beautiful redhead who so often haunted her dreams. Who looked a bit like...an older version of her. It was difficult to think back and dive through her memory, but it felt like the woman had been in deep pain and anguish. Feth the Force, why did it have to give her bloody visions? "Elpsis, you alright, sweetie?" The red Twi'lek snuggled against her side stirred. Some girl Elpsis had picked up at a bar. Nothing serious. Would be over by the next day.

"Yeah, just weird dreams is all. Go back to sleep," Elpsis grunted and then likewise hit the sack again, trying to find her way back into the realm of Morpheus. Trying to blot out the feelings, and, perhaps more importantly, her face out. Whoever she was. It had been just a dream, nothing more. Just the annoying Force playing another trick on her because it was a massive troll.

Coryth sensed the distress of Siobhan before she heard her single word. Groggily, the redhead rolled over, reaching out to Sio to try and help her through the emotional tempestuous sea that she seemed to be swimming in. "Siobhan," She whispered, tugging on the woman. "Siobhan, come back to me." Spoken as she finally reached into the force, seeking to offer a life raft to the brunette. "Just gotta come back to me..." She said quietly, doing her best to close off her Empathic gifts, to cease the flow.

Siobhan was threatening to drown in a chaotic ocean of emotions that were not her own and yet pained her to the core. Then Coryth reached out to her and offered her a life raft. Siobhan shook strongly as she tried to keep the flood at bay. Taking a deep breath she just about managed to grip the metaphorical life raft and slowly pulled herself up while the flood raged.

Her bionic eyes fluttered open and the dark room was illuminated by the red glow of her eyes before they resumed their human colour. "Thanks...I'm alright, I think. Don't worry, dear," she spoke slowly. "Think I need an aspirin."

Coryth frowned a bit hearing Siobhan's words. For the little redhead worried greatly about her Sio. Reaching forward, she gently brushed away a few stray strands of hair from Siobhan's face. "Stay here, darling. I'll go get the aspirin." Even when Coryth's heart was aching, she always could find some joy in helping others. It was her calling in life after all and something she loved dearly. Gently her lips brushed against Sio's forehead giving her a soft comforting kiss, before she slowly climbed out of bed and headed into the bathroom to rummage through the medicine cabinet to grab the aspirin. She then only stepped out of the room to grab a glass of water and quickly returned to Siobhan's side.

Sitting on the edge of the bed, on Sio's side, she handed her two tablets from the bottle in her hand and the glass of water. "Here dear, this should help." She said gently. Once the glass was taken from her hand, she would gently rub upon Siobhan's arm and shoulder, trying to soothe her as best she could. "What happened dear?" She had to ask, curious as to what exactly caused this. Though she suspected her own emotions played a major role.

"It's nothing," Siobhan tried to brush it off, though it would probably not work. She leaned into the soft touch on her head while she gulped down the glass of water. The tablets and the gentle rub seemed to calm her down a bit. "Your emotions...kind of overloaded. It's no big. Let's just go back to bed, love. Don't worry about it." Doubtless Coryth would still feel guilty about it. Siobhan took a deep breath and then finished her water, putting the glass down on the bedside table.

"Siobhan, I'm an Empath. It's not nothing." She said softly, hoping Siobhan would reveal it quickly. The redhead kept rubbing gently along the brunette's arm, being as soothing as she possibly could. "Ah, I see." She said with a frown, feeling a little bad about it to be honest. At least she understood how it went, being overwhelmed with her own emotions before and that of others around her. "I know they can be overwhelming, even for myself sometimes when I'm caught up in a crowd or on a battlefield, so I understand." Anything she could do to comfort her dear friend. "Are you certain, or do you want to talk about it Sio? Because that's fine with me too. I'd rather make sure you are alright before we go back to sleep, my dear."

Now that Coryth was fussing over her Siobhan sort of felt bad. After all, the little redhead was the one with the heartbreak. Siobhan had only experienced a wave of her emotions. "Just felt a big wave of your feelings. It's ok. Let's just go back to sleep...and try to keep our barriers up better," she pulled the tiny redhead into a hug and gave her a kiss on the forehead. Nothing more than that, since getting more affectionate would probably be inappropriate.

At least the moments of fussing over Siobhan, let Coryth forget about her heartache. It was much easier when she was helping someone out, to forget her own problems and pains. "Okay, Sio dear." She wrapped her arms briefly around Siobhan and soon pulled away. "As long as you're sure, I'll go lay down. And I promise dear, I'll keep them up a bit tighter than before on my end. Don't need you going through the pain I am too. That's not fair to you." She said quietly, as she rose slowly and walked back over to her side of the bed, before slipping under the covers and scooting close to Sio.

"It's ok, dear. I'll manage. Try to sleep well...love," Siobhan said, already feeling a bit groggy again and drifting off to sleep, after having slipped once again under the covers. Seeing that Coryth was scooting closer to her, she snuggled up to the redhead and pulled her into a loose embrace, holding her in such a manner that the short stack of fire would be able to rest her head upon Siobhan's ample bosom. Hopefully the redhead's slumber would be more peaceful now. Goddess knew she certainly needed the rest and a chance to come off the emotional rollercoaster she had been on.

"Okay darling, I believe you. Rest well, and I'll see you in the morning." With Siobhan's arm loosely wrapped around her, she did take advantage of the position and snuggled upon Siobhan's ample bosom. There was a certain comfort in that. Something Siobhan might not have known, but Coryth loved to listen to people's heartbeats, especially those she really cared deeply about. Shifting a little she placed her ear against her beloved friend's chest and listened contently to that steady rhythmic beat. With her barriers up tighter this time, Coryth soon fell sound asleep with the help of listening to Siobhan's heart.

Time passed. Siobhan had not fallen asleep right away but watched over Coryth, stroking her firemane until she too drifted off into the realm of Morpheus. Fortunately this time both their barriers were up and so their slumber was not interrupted and it seemed that for a change the little redhead was free of visions of doom. Likewise it would still take many months before a certain mad goddess decided to randomly teleport trillions of sentient beings into the Netherworld, so they were equally uninterrupted on that front.

Eventually the sun rose again and the first rays of light penetrated through the curtains. Slowly Siobhan stirred in her sleep, still feeling rather groggy when she opened her eyes. She had the distinct impression that it was too early in the morning to be early in the morning. The fact that, as her chronometre clearly showed, it was noon escaped her!

Morning came, and the light shined bright through the curtains. For a change, the redhead had not woken with the rising sun like she usually did. There was a soft sigh before she shifted from her position against Siobhan and slowly sat up. Drawing her knees up to her chest, she rested her head lightly upon her knees as she looked to Siobhan who seemed to just be waking as well.

"Morning ... or afternoon, I guess. But anyway dear, it's good to see you." She said quietly, but her usual smile was lacking. Her heart still ached and that wasn't going away anytime soon. That much she knew. Unfortunately it was just something she was going to have to work through and it was going to take some time. "Seems I slept rather well after the incident last night. It's been ages since I've not woken with the rising sun. Guess it was needed rest after everything." The firemane said with a shrug of her small shoulders.

"It's noon? Still feels way too early for me," Siobhan grumbled to herself. Clearly she was not a fan of this whole idea of getting up and felt like lazing around in bed. "Good to hear you got some well-needed sleep, love," she added, though she felt that while Coryth had gotten the rest she needed, the heartache had not gone, which was to be expected. It would not go away for a long time.

Finally Siobhan sat up on the bed and stretched slightly. The robe was not covering at all and so her toned muscles visibly rippled. With the Force she reached out to tug a datapad that was lying on a table and pulled it towards her. Once it was in her grasp, she reviewed her messages and then quickly typed up a transmission. "Called in Firemane HQ saying I won't be at work today. So we can have breakfast in bed, eat ice cream and watch bad holovids," she spoke up after having sent the message.

"Well Sio, it's the latest I've slept in, in years." Coryth said with a sigh, as she slowly worked her way to the edge of the bed. Lazily the redhead wandered over to the closet, looking for a few articles of clothing she could wear for the day. Though soon realized what she'd left over at the Villa, wasn't a lot. Just a few mismatched articles and nothing she cared for really. All too old, too worn. Maybe, just maybe Coryth was starting to become more civilized and see the need for a decent wardrobe.

One more sigh, and Coryth closed the doors. "Guess I didn't leave as much over here as I thought." Giving a shrug she headed back over to take a seat on the bed next to Siobhan. "That sounds good, though do you think we could do some shopping. I'm not really interested in stopping by my home, and well ... You know too well the state of most of my clothes. Maybe it's time I get some new ones." Retail therapy. Who would have thought, it'd be the little tiny jedi to bring it up first, and actually want to do it.
