Thinking, In the Pursuit of Knowledge

Rakieh Atur

The Watchman's Apprentice
"Thank you master. I am quite happy with the results myself..."

He continued to listen to Syn talk, nodding as he reached the end of his sentence, and then replied:

"It's uses aside master, the feeling of this process itself is truly something else. It is quite amazing. Feels very... well, it makes me feel very alive."

Rakieh continued to practice for a moment before resuming the conversation with his master.

"Are there any limits I should be concerned about? Certain applications of this technique that I should avoid? For example, if I were to continuously block blaster fire using this technique, is there any possibility that the Force energies flowing through me could cause harm to my body if not carefully monitored, or, perhaps, drive me to accidentally use dark side abilities? For example, if I used tutaminis to avoid the harm of Force lightning, should I be careful not to redirect it?

A good question and something that he had never really had to test himself but there was certainly limits when you got down to it. "There are limits but it is generally not something I have seen others reach. If you are absorbing enough energy then you should have something planned to release it. A repulse or a shockwave that you can use to get whoever is attacking you should suffice and if it is for an explosion then you can use it to fuel a barrier to protect others normally." He was standing there still doing some of the movements while reaching out with the force to the world ad searching.

"I see... Then I suppose my question to follow is more prevalent to me at this current stage."

Rakieh continued to more the Force energies through his body, now looking to Syn for guidance, or at least, to see at a glance what it could —and likely should— look like in later stages of the development of this technique.

"How would I get to the point of mastery necessary to do such things as it is? I can't imagine simply practicing the motions would get me very far... rather, I can see how making the motion natural would help, but how do you know to absorb energy that isn't innately your own? That part I have a hard time imagining. My intuition tells me that you wouldn't be able to apply the technique without ample practice, but the practice itself, as I see it, could be deadly in of itself..."

"best way to learn is to practice and see what you can absorb and what you can't so you can train yourself ot know the difference. it will be part instinct and be part what you use the force to tell you about it. From all of your senses that you are able to and even then it is still something that can take time. I have been learning still over over eight hundred years.... it doesn't get any easier all that really happens is that I have been getting more skilled in knowing and being able to use the force itself."
