Thinking of making a new company

I thought about bringing back this character, but I didn't know how. That was until the idea of making a company came into my head. What I plan to do is hold a thread where this character goes out and Takes over either a planet or a Space Station, and then start from there. If anyone has any ideas on what I should do, please hit me up here. I'm open to ideas.

I would actually suggest starting with taking over a space station, the best way to hammer out a company or any tech I found was to start writing about it, and the good thing about space stations is that you can move them through different locations. So my proposal is start with the take over of the station, by the end of that thread you should have a better idea of what your company is going to be all about, plus more time to think, and from there you could pick a planet, or planets, for your locations or headquarters.

I'd agree with [member="HK-36"], taking a space station would be a good option for starting a company. It would be much more realistic than taking over a planet, and another advantage of a station would be mobility. Once you take the station, you could start thinking more into your company and set up a headquarters somewhere. At least that sounds better than what I did for my business (made the headquarters a six four kilometer skyscraper, while Ne-Cal was supposed to be a small business. I still regret that choice).
 
[member="HK-57"] What sort of company are we talking about here? Seeing as you want to take over a planet/space station, I'm assuming it's something dirty, possibly illegal.

Regardless, I would have to agree that taking over a planet is much too large-scale. A space station is a good idea, but even some might consider that big. Personally I think the whole 'space station siege' thing is a bit drawn out, I think a mining colony would be much more realistic and interesting. Hell, you could base the company off of that. Exporting goods and whatnot, maybe throw in a little "crime-spice" into the mix. I think you could even start a cartel after that...

But I'm getting ahead of myself. If you need someone to help out, I'll volunteer myself in order to get this character (and yours) back up and running. If you need dirty work (thievery, protection, smuggling, etc. etc.) then I'm your guy!
 
Hmm...I've been doing some thinking [member="Myles Velum"], and I'm thinking of selling/developing Weapons, Vehicles, and possibly ships. The last part has yet to be decided upon, as is with the planets the company will be located, as the 3 worlds I had in mind are now under the control of the Sith Empire.
 
[member="HK-57"] Gun-running is one of the things my character does.

Perhaps instead of being planet-based, you could simply make up some space station or outpost to capture and work out of there as your base of operations. Then you could just have trading outposts around other planets' orbits. Personally I like the idea of a company that doesn't really work on the ground other than for resources/etc. What other things did you have planned?
