This Ain't Twilight (Open Saber Training)

Chi'Yara opened his mouth to reply, turning his head when Master [member="Syn"] spoke. Keeping his blade ignited he moved to stand with the other Padawans while deliberating over which form he would eventually choose, thinking back to his original goal of learning saberstaff combat. That was something he knew would take time, but the young Jedi was willing if it meant achieving his goal.
"I was hoping to eventually learn saberstaff combat, but I understand if such a thing isn't attainable just now. I'd like to start with Form IV, Master." He spoke slowly and deliberately, choosing each word carefully and looking to the others for their decision that would ultimately shape their path as a Jedi.

Jeela deactivated her lightsaber at the words, and considered the question. She already knew Djem So to an extent, although it was by no mean well suited for her. Too aggressive and required far too much physical strength than she had in her possession. That and it was meant to be used with Jensaarai armor, which she did not have, and most likely would not. Niman. That seemed like a good form, decent all around.
"Niman, I believe, Master Syn."

Master of Her Own Destiny
After hearing Master [member="Syn"]'s question, she stopped swinging her saber. She couldn't get what she wanted from the training, because her teammate, [member="Ellain Hadrin"], couldn't focus on the fight and Nima was the only side to attack. But, she smiled and winked to her, and said, trying to sound as sincere as she can. "Good fight, but you need to study on your focus a little." Then she started to think what form would be great for her to use. She was an athletic and energetic, and she preferred to be aggresive whenever she was training. Then, after thinking for a minute, she decided what she wanted to learn. "I think Ataru suits me well, Master." she said, feeling confidence and excitement.

Try not cry when you lose.”

A smile crept on the corner of his mouth at Cable’s jest, he was ready. Dagos’ combat skills had not shown to be his greatest asset, but to be fair he hasn’t had much experience with a light saber but a training session like this was just what he needed. At home he had excelled at his combat training. Though that was with a spear and not nearly as complicated as this, he found himself falling back on familiar technique.

With the force flowing through him he anticipated and moved to counter, Dagos simply dashed away the Cable’s first two strikes with his saber. The green blades humming as they clashed. A third strike came stronger than the first two, Dagos shifted his feet as he blocked maintaining his defensive stance and keeping his center of gravity below him.

It was clear Cable had some prior training, his blade work was fairly precise and well thought out, there was no wasted movement. Dagos had blocked or parried the saber attacks but had been so focused on the blade that he didn’t notice the stick until it was buried in his ribs, and stung like hell. As soon as the walking stick hit his ribs Dagos pinned it between his body and his left arm, cocking his right hand back and throwing a punch at Cable’s face with his saber turned off, no need to risk actually hurting somebody.

It wasn’t the prettiest or most elegant way to fight but Dagos knew fighting was hardly ever either of those things, whether you were fighting with a spear, a blaster or a light saber. Regardless of if the punch landed or not, it seemed they were taking a break in the training, with Master [member="Syn"] wanting to know what forms they were interested in learning.

If Dagos were honest, he would rather not have to use his light saber, his goal was to be a healer to help those who were hurt not cause pain but to think he could avoid using his blade with the galaxy in the climate it was, would be unrealistic.

“Master, I think form III would be beneficial for us all.”

The others seemed more interested in offensive forms of training and that made sense, with almost the whole galaxy at war with the One Sith, and The Republic’s mistrust of the Silver Jedi, it may only be a matter of time before the order was drawn into conflict but for now they were keepers of the peace, not soldiers and in Dagos’ mind Soresu was the form that best exemplified that.

Connecting with the walking stick Cable smirked and knew he had to follow through with something to quickly finish off his opponent. If he could best him, perhaps he could get a knight to train under. It all seemed like everything was going his way and that the fight would be over before it even started. But as usual for Cable reality comes back and bites like a queen. Caught up in the heat of the moment he didn't see it coming, a large dark skinned fist coming right at his own face.

Connecting with his nose the punch made him stagger backwards, and just like that it was over. The master told the group to break and learn a new lightsaber style. Holding his nose Cable looked over the Dagos "Ow... dick." He said with a sligh crunch afterwards popping his nose back into place.

Looking back over to Master Tarzan King of the jungle he was asking if he wanted them to learn a new lightsaber technique and style. In the words of his late father, you can learn all the flashy styles you want but when a ground of droids has you surrounded. You can kiss your ass goodbye. "What Dagos said." Cable spoke aloud taking a large sniff afterwards of air. [member="Dagos Terrek"] [member="Nima Tann"] [member="Jeela Tillian "][member="Chi'Yara"] [member="Syn"]

After proving his proficiency with a light-saber by cycling through multiple techniques with mechanical perfection, a Kel Dor Blademaster had given him permission borrow a training saber for personal use. Not like he could do much with it though. While the containment field was a strong as a normal saber, its output of the energy stream that cycled through the containment loop was extremely weak; the training saber enough to deflect a blaster bolt or repulse another saber, but he wouldn't be able to deal much more damage than a first degree burn with direct skin contact. After receiving the approval of the Blademaster, he informed Uther of a training opportunity outside with another master.

While the mercenary was experienced with a saber, it had been a while since he had wielded one, not since he had put down his old saber. From his discussion with the Kel Dor, it sounded like only a beginner's class, it wouldn't hurt to use it as an opportunity to work off some rust and mingle with future comrades in arms. On his way to the location, he toyed his saber, waving around the sword of ice blue light to get comfortable using such a weapon again. Lightsabers were difficult to handle. As the blade had no mass, there was no counterweight, making the weapon unbalanced. The containment loop and the generator that created the field resulted in a significant amount centrifugal force, creating resistance to manipulating the saber. And of course, the whole contact area of the blade was just as dangerous the wielder as their target(s), giving rise to such techniques such as the Saarlac's Face.

He had arrived after the master had cast his illusion on the training field, so Uther was met with the vision of a metallic dome. Perceiving the construct through Force, he couldn't make out anything clearly within the construct itself, but he could see how warped the space was in comparison to its surroundings. Other signs alerted him that he was in the right place, like the scent of fresh human musk, vibrations from the vigorous movement of multiple people, several sets of boot tracks in the soft ground the led right inside the dome.

Gingerly, he picked up a stick and passed one end through the dome. He felt no resistance, and pulled it out to find it unchanged in any way. Seemed alright to pass through, so he did, finding the scene of multiple Jedi sparring. The scene was much different within, that of a thick forest surrounding them. With what he knew of the Jedi, he concluded the construct likely the work of a White Current user.

Remaining at the edge, he powered down his saber, observing the multiple duels unfolding before him. He didn't witness anything amazing from them, but most appeared competent. One exception was the mud man sparring with a female novice, who he assumed to be the master and leader of this session. It was clear he was holding back on the woman, almost toying with her, while she lagged behind in her counters, clearly distracted. It was almost like she was getting caught up oogling him. She earned a few good lickings for her distraction though. He found the fight between the other two men of the group the most interesting, of friends. They fought creatively, almost dirty even, the duel ending with the Blues Eyes clocking Duster in the face. There had been plenty of sugar behind that punch, which resulted in Duster getting his nose broken. For some reason, that made him smile.

The Jedi Master that had been sparring with Hot-and-Bothered called for a pause in sparring, then asked them what else they wanted to learn. There were multiple answers thrown out, mostly calls for different saber forms. He had no preferences, already familiar with the mechanics of seven forms from years of combat against other saber wielders. He would go with whatever was decided, but he did want one thing. He lined up with the rest of the students, crossing burly arms over his chest before he made a request.

"Nothing I can think of at the moment, but I wouldn't mind a one-on-one with you. I think that would help me figure something out."

She frowned and sighed. "I dont actually know about the saber forms... what exactly are they and why is there different ones?" She again, had only ever used a vibroknife, never had she needed to even think of touching a lightsaber much less study them... she didn't even know how to use them correctly and didn't even havwe a training saber.

He heard all of them speaking and offering what they wanted to do... well all except three of them. Una and Ellain seemed opened to learning anything. Uther wanted to face him and her looked at the padawan as his senses in the force remained on him. An interesting moment but there was an even number he could oversee and spoke. "I think padawan Terrek is correct, while it isn't a favored form of myself learning form III can help each and everyone of you."

The jedi master stepped putting his right foot behind himself as he stood turned to the side while looking at them. His dominant foot back and the snap hiss of the blade as one hand rose extending out towards the students. His saber in the back hand pointed forward and activated while he spoke. "This is the opening stance, as none of us have blasters it will be different but the defensive slash will allow you to deflect a blaster bolt while fighting another opponent."

He was looking at them more and kept speaking. "For masters of this form you can defend against a great number of opponents but you will and can fall into a trap. Without stamina, without some thinking and outpacing your opponents you may just tire yourself until you fall in combat."

Jeela mirrored the stance, shifting to the side with her right foot back, left hand out in front of her, and lightsaber crackling in her right hand held behind her head. This was an uncomfortable position. She wasn't entirely sure why, but there seemed to be some tension and aches in her his and shoulders. That was so,etching that probably needed to be looked at by a doctor. Just in case.

Veino had always been find of this form for some reason. He never could have explained why, and she never understood it. It took too long to use effectively and at a high enough level to be usable. There were other things to study. Her arm quivered, and she released the tension, letting it dip a fraction of an inch, and then reset it.
