This Is Who We Are

Without warning she threw her arms around him.

The monkey was quick to adjust, thanks to the small connection she had already established with it, and he scurried to one side to make room for the gesture.

Gratitude wasn't even the word for it.

"Thank you" she breathed against his ear, holding him close and tight in an embrace. He was right, the fat monkey had taken a quick liking to the both of them, perhaps he understood what had happened, that he was now free. She hoped so, everyone deserved to be free.

Leaning back she glanced him up and down before reaching for his hand. As much as she wanted to stay and look around, exhaustion remained paramount within her and she didn't know if she had the strength to continue in that moment.

"I'm tired," she confessed, though they hadn't been awake for very long, "This... Took a lot out of me. Do you think we could rest a while, and come back in the evening?"

She didn't want to ruin their fun, she did want to explore the bazaar after all, it had just been taxing, stressful. Hopefully he'd understand.

He wrapped his arms under her torso and embraced Jyn tightly, not wanting to let go just yet. It was the little things in life that counted and this was just one of many happy moments they would cherish in the future. The little monkey was the cutest thing ever and they made the right choice by setting it free, such animal didn't deserve the life it was having.

"Don't mention it."

The whole ordeal had exhausted them in just a matter of minutes despite just waking up a shy thirty minutes ago, the walk and the entire situation just being the icing on the cake. The Bazaar and its flashing lights, wares and shops showed more life during night time and it was in their best interest and enjoyment to return later.

"You're right. We can just go home and settle down a bit, don't think it hurts anyone."

They could have fun soon enough after resting as the night in the Smuggler's Moon was young.
