It was a good thing that Doug was near, because the ability to deflect shots fired at them was something Anora did not have. She could block them, defend herself and him if the need arose, but from their current distance? It only did them so much good. Granted, the brief breaks between blocking shots allowed for her to grab flaming pieces of swoop bike with the Force and toss them into the remaining line of terrorists. It seemed to serve as a good distraction and incapacitate those she managed to hit.

When Josh appeared behind her and Doug, Anora glanced at him briefly before refocusing forward and listening. She wasn't entirely sure how she felt about being told to do what needed to be done, but at this point? What choice did they have? So she flexed her grip on her blade and nodded to show she understood, and when she and the other Padawan were told to charge, she did exactly that.

She ran forward, using her blade to block shots fired at her when the need arose, though once again she extended a hand so that she could force push more pieces of bike at their foes. And once close enough to the line, her blade came back into play and she set about attempting to disable terrorists and/or their weapons rather than cut them down.

Doug glanced at Josh as he reappeared and gave them some pointers for what they would do from here. Doug had gotten somewhat skilled at dealing with enemies without outright killing them, although he had been using a training lightsaber at the time... He would likely need to be more careful with an actual lightsaber lest he accidentally kill anyone. Granted, it didn't really matter at this point, but he felt that these criminals getting the chance to be brought to proper justice was a better punishment than a swift death. At least, that's what he would like to think...

When told it was time to charge, Doug held his lightsaber to the side of his head horizontally and gripped it with both of his hands, striking a sort of battle pose. He then ran forward, deflecting more of the blaster fire, and then began to slice at some of the terrorists, making careful movements to get at their shoulders or sides. He then jumped back and found more of the rubble from some of the swoop bikes. He held his left hand out and lifted up some more pieces, then sent them forward at the terrorists to distract them.

The fighting continued on, but it may come to an end eventually...

While it would be nice to be able to spare everyone in this instance, he also knew that terrorists were very unlikely to change. It was a fact of life, and something he had learned by experience. Terrorists and slavers, he tended to be less lenient with for this very reason. But he still tried when he could. But when it came to cases like this... Well, where the saber landed had to be where the saber landed. It was a fact of life. And it was part of the job. Whether he liked it or not.

The group would charge forward in separate directions, and Josh would charge through the blaster fire, the Magnus Armor under his robes absorbing a fair amount of blaster fire and stunning the terrorists in fronts of him. "What da hell is this guy?" One of the panicked terrorists would cry out in shock and horror before Josh would slash through his shoulder, bringing him down, before rearing his saber back and stabbing under his armpit, stabbing the other just near the waist and downing him as well.

Taking a deep breath, eyes closed, of much of the majority of the rest would close in on him, Josh would open his eyes and unleash a barrage of fireballs from both hands, his saber being held between his elbow and his side in the meanwhile, as he would batter them in numbers...

He was starting to show just what he could truly do, in front of his Padawans, ever so slowly...

Twice there had been nothing for Anora to do but take down the life of the person in front of her. It had been one of those situations where it was them or her, and she chose to live. Most she had come across she could merely incapacitate; a blow to the shoulder here, a leg there, so on and so forth. But those two... And yet at the moment she felt numb to it. Something in the back of her head told her that she would feel for what she had done later on, after the adrenaline of the situation wore off, but right now? She was merely fighting to save the innocent people of the village, and keep herself and her allies alive.

But things had gotten to a point where she was mostly in the clear on her end. She had either cleared them out, or they had scattered, either way it left her able to defend herself and get at least a quick look around to see her immediate surroundings.

And then she had needed to make sure she had herself well guarded because seeing Master DragonsFlame in current action was distracting. Anora had never seen anything like that, after all, and all she could do was once again make sure she had gotten some place safe for the moment, and stare. Her end was clear for the moment, and she just couldn't seem to make herself leap into the fray that her Master seemed to (currently) have well in hand.

After having dealt with some of the terrorists, Doug did a flip back and observed as Josh took the lead once again. He had done a decent job scattering more of the terrorists and incapacitating them so he watched as Josh went into action. He lifted up his lightsaber in a more defensive stance in case any more of the terrorists went for him or Anora. He breathing grew a bit heavier and his arms shook slightly. He felt like he could go into action again, but he watched as Josh began to throw out a barrage of more Fireballs. It was... A sight alright. He managed to restrain himself there when that happened. Discipline was key...

He knew Josh was a Jedi Master, but he really noticed how Josh began to show off more of what he was capable of as time went on. It was to be expected after all. Josh looked like he had things under control for now, but would it last? Doug had to wait and see...

Josh would stand back to back with his Padawans once more after dealing with a series of them. Now that the numbers had dwindled some, Josh had notably returned back to going non-lethal. Now that the disadvantage was not massive and innocent lives were not in danger if he did not do it, he had no reason to kill no matter how heinous these terrorists were. But then and there, he noticed something that made him lower his blade a moment...

"The refugees... They're fighting back!"

The bodies, unconscious or dead, of the terrorists were picked for blasters as the refugees they were trying to save would draw them and begin to fire on their enemies. Josh would continue to deflect blaster shots, hoping to continue to draw fire away from them as they would fire on the terrorists while they were open.

Before long... It was over.

With the help of the refugee reinforcements, the remaining terrorists had run, and the ones not killed had been captured. Josh didn't know what the refugees would do to their prisoners, but he would leave it to them, and to the Silver Jedi if they wished to interject.

Once things had blown over, Josh noticed he'd kept his lightsaber out, just out of instinct, and finally deactivated it. He would place it back on his belt as he would wave toward the refugees with a light smile while they were busy celebrating amongst themselves, and walk away, motioning for his Padawans to follow. It seemed he wanted to slip away during the festivities, he wasn't one to get involved in these... He was just doing his job, after all.

He would hop onto his swoop, even if it had been damaged a bit, and motioned for Anora to hop onto his and hang on, seeing as hers had been destroyed in the carnage. It was time to head back.

He would quickly ring up [member="Arisa Yune"] and [member="Valae Kitra"], who were in charge of the operation, while he waited for the two Padawans to mount the swoops.

"This is Master DragonsFlame. The mission is complete."

It broke her heart witnessing Valae's pleading, then eventual resignation in reaction to her announcement. For a few crushing moments, she looked up at her friend, fighting every urge to apologize and take back what she just said, but she kept her jaw clamped shut as she bit back against the impulse.

Finally, she relaxed to speak as Valae reluctantly acknowledged that there was no use arguing with her, Arisa's stubbornness well known.

"...you'll have the Assembly to help you, and I'm still going to be around to provide assistance where I can. The Rebel Alliance will always stand with the Silver Jedi and all other groups who oppose the Sith."

Despite her assurances of support, she still felt horrible. She was putting Valae in the same position that she had been in when the title of Grandmaster dropped in her lap when she hadn't even been a Jedi Master for a year. While taking up the position without open complaint, she had always secretly resented the other more senior Masters that had failed to step up to plate, but now she was just a guilty as a hypocrite.

She got up from her seat, almost trudging toward Valae as her feet suddenly felt as heavy as lead. She reached out to hug Valae, tears beginning to well up in her eyes.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry..." Whatever poise she had left was gone as she broke down, feeling like she had completely failed her best friend.

Valae glanced to the side, willing the tears to stay back. She knew that Arisa was struggling, and it was upsetting to see her friend so distressed. And the thought of taking on the position of Grandmaster was daunting. She was not a leader by any stretch, but she would do what needed to be done. Blinking a few times, she focused on Arisa as she spoke again. It was reassuring to hear that she did not plan to leave entirely, but things just wouldn’t be the same.

“…I understand,” She managed to choke out in response.

She supposed that the council would be there to help, but she knew very few of them personally. And no matter how she wanted to close herself off, it was just not her way. Valae moved to the edge of her seat as Arisa approached, and she stood up. The walls were down now, both women teary-eyed.

Embracing her friend, she let her hand gently pat her on the back.

“Don’t fret,” She said, her voice a broken whisper. “I’ll be okay.”

Valae drew in a shaking breath.

“Everything will be okay…”
