Time to Feel the Heat

Amaryllis gave a weak smile towards the much taller Epicanthix. She hadn't quiet realized how tall he was until she was standing right next to him. Huh, wow. Either way, she gave a small nod. She did handle Brutus. It was honestly a bit sad they had to leave him - but luckily, she had found a number for a rancor rescue group that confirmed they had gotten him and he was happy with a bunch of other rancors now.

She held her lightsaber tightly in one hand and gave a nod as she watched the shirtless man walk back to the middle of the room. She gave another nod as she walked up to him. "That sounds like a good idea," she said with a small nod. Indeed, hopefully this would at least prepare her for the worst for now. She took a deep breath before amber eyes found [member="Kahlil Zambrano"]'s once more. She was ready.

"How are we starting?"

"You've spent your life on that planet fighting any manner of wild beasts to defend yourself. You know how to fight, that makes you different from many Jedi. So," Kahlil lifted his saber in both hands, taking a loose stance of Soresu. "Fight me as if I am one of those beasts. From that, we'll see where you should go next. Sound good?" He gave her a kind smile for a moment, before his expression hardened. Not in an angry way, but in the way of a combatant expecting a fight. [member="Amaryllis Tansea"] had the strength of her survival on her side after all.

"Begin when ready."

That was true - she had killed only who knew how many angry beasts. Or smaller, deadly ones like sneakier poisonous ones. But bringing those skills to a fight with a lightsaber against Kahlil? It made her a bit nervous. It seemed like a different dynamic, a dynamic she wasn’t quite ready for. Mostly because animals were predictable. She could make an educated guess on where their attacks may land.

Such a dynamic was lost with a sentient. They could think, deflect easier, and generally do more damage. She eyed Kahlil up and down for a moment - even if he was an animal, he’d be a very hard animal to take down. She inhale as she positioned herself like back on Akiva and with a swoop she aimed for Kahlil.

Likely more crude and simplistic than ordinary styles, but there would be immense amounts of dodging. Jumping back. And she wasn’t quite sure how to incorporate using the lightsaber to dodge Kahlils lightsaber.

That's what he figured. [member="Amaryllis Tansea"] was a far more animalistic attacker. Jumping right for him, striking quick, then dodging. He smiled, a nervous smile at that, as he brought his saber up his saber to defend. That was what he was best at, defending himself. Defending others. He watched the chameleon with a nod. "Good, interesting. You know the Force. Trust in it. Guide it through your body, launch yourself. Flip, cartwheel, spin. Overwhelm with different types of attacks."

He was talking about the basics of Ataru. The three axis of rotation. It seemed to be the easiest way to incorporate her swordplay.

Amaryllis took a breath as she pushed some of the stray blue-purple hair behind her ear. A little sweaty. She put a hand on Kahlil's shoulder, using him to balance her for a moment as she regained her breath. This was... More intense than she expected. And since she wasn't angry at [member="Kahlil Zambrano"], she couldn't really pull that anger and frustration like she was expecting to be able to do.

She sipped the bottle of water she had grabbed earlier. "Wow," she muttered after a moment. Dang... Was she even doing good? "Am I... Doing well?"

"Yeah, sort of." Kahlil took a breath as they separated, shutting down his saber for the moment. [member="Amaryllis Tansea"] was fast and wild, which was both good and bad. She was using too much of her emotions, which was dangerous. "Be mindful of your feelings. You're not suppose to use your emotions. Let the Force in, guide it. You are the aggressor, but don't let aggression consume you."

He was only minorly worried she'd be able to control herself. He smiled wide, nodding his head. "But, other then that, you're doing exceedingly well. Your time in the jungle has made you a natural at this. Do't be afraid to swoop in from odd angles and strike. You'll tire in a prolonged fight, as you can tell. Strike quick and hard, and overcome your opponent before then."

She drank more of the water as she finally slinked onto one of the chairs. Wow, [member="Kahlil Zambrano"] had really worked her more than she thought he would. It was fine, ultimately, but still. She hadn't expected to be legitimately sore after fighting with him. She had hoped he would be weaker in the survival sense, despite the very clear muscular frame he had.

But he didn't really think she did well, and so she pouted her lip as she sighed. "Will try that," she said quietly as she took another long sip. Maybe she was using too much emotion. It had always just been.. Survival, though.

Then, though, he did say she was doing exceedingly well which turned the pout into a large grin. She nodded a few times. "Quick and hard," she repeated as she dwelled on his words. She could do that.
