Language: N/A
Average Lifespan: 6-9 years

PHYSICAL INFORMATION
Breathes: Type 1
Average height of adults: .5m
Average length of adults: .5m
Skin color: Pinkish grey scales
Fur color: White or grey.
Distinctions: Soft, thick fur. Curling horns. Long, strong tail for balance. Brown, black, blue or green eyes. Upright posture that makes them look more curious than they are. TinyTauns ™ have a thinner fat layer than their larger cousins and scent glands have been removed.
Races: N/A
Strengths:
(+)Trainable: Like their larger cousins, TinyTauns ™ can be taught to follow simple directions and even do tricks.
(+)Low Odor: Between removal of scent glands and a thinner layer of protective fat, TinyTauns ™ are less objectionably scented than their wild cousins, but still require regular grooming as with any household pet to prevent undesirable smells.
Weaknesses:
(-)Smol: TinyTauns ™ are small. They cannot be ridden on or bear actual loads. Due to their small size, TinyTauns ™ are prone to some skittishness, but this can be circumvented with gentle, frequent handling.
(-)Non-Combat: These are pets! Geez what’s wrong with you. You should be ashamed.
(-)Sterile: Like all GenPals animals, TinyTauns ™ are sterile to discourage irresponsible breeding.
(-)Proprietary: Like all GenPals animals, TinyTauns ™ require GenPal brand food to remain healthy and within warranty. GenPals animals fed non-branded food will eventually weaken and possibly die, as they are engineered with certain nutrition needs only their proprietary blend contains in the right ratios.
CULTURE
Diet: GenPals Tauntaun Feed and treats. Can be supplemented with fresh produce to treat your new best friend! TinyTauns ™ should not be fed off brand food or it will void their warranty.
Communication: Lowing, grunts, squeaks and peeps, body language
Technology level: N/A
Religion/Beliefs: N/A
General behavior: Tauntauns are by nature social herd animals. They are active and require regular exercise. Surefooted, unattended TinyTauns ™ can find themselves in unexpectedly high locations and may be unable to get down without help. While sterilizing for health and responsible animal husbandry reasons have removed most of their undesirable traits related to mating, TinyTauns ™ still have the innate desire to ‘play’ by butting into things with their horns- redirect this behavior or train your pet to know when it is okay to play so they do not ram into unsuspecting house guests. Under socialized TinyTauns ™ can be prone to skittishness, so handle and play with your new friend frequently! Unlike Bantha Buddies ™ , bored TinyTauns ™ are more likely to sleep and grow fat than be destructive- this is not good for their health, so keep your TinyTaun ™ active and engaged.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Continuing their work with existing creatures to refine their processes, GenPals tackled the Tauntaun next. Beloved by children and often seen as stuffed animals, it seemed a perfect choice to continue their ‘Familiar Faces’ line. By outcrossing Common Tauntaun genetics with their smaller, more heat tolerant subspecies, and utilizing the generational size reduction process used in the creation of Bantha Buddies ™, GenPals was able to create a smaller Tauntaun that could withstand typical household temperatures, while retaining the features that made them delightful to children. By removing the scent glands and the extra layers of fat needed to keep them warm in arctic temperatures, they were also able to significantly reduce the Tauntaun’s natural odor- one of the necessary hurdle to making them accessible as companion animals.
