Titian Manes and Short Stacks [Coryth/Cira]

Fondor
Omega Tower

Like some majestic obelisk the headquarters of the Omega Protectorate speared skyward into the polluted sky of the shipbuilding planet, Fondor. Massive in scope and size, the tower dominated the airspace around it by sheer presence. Since the Clockwork Invasion, the Tower had been turned into a fortress, security tightened like a hangman's noose.

This is where @Coryth Elaris had been instructed to come, and she'd land at the spaceport located just a short walk from the base of the spire. She'd find herself facing a military base constantly on high alert, armed soldiers patrolling the hangars and corridors of the public starport in a way that seemed more fitting a warzone.

But this was simply Fondor, and OmegaPyre took their duties seriously.

Leaving the starport was the easy part, but getting into the tower was the hard part. The front of it was a den of armed guards, retina and palm scanners, along with biometric sensors and all manner of ID checks. Thankfully for Coryth though, Sarge had taken care of this. He'd instructed her simply to meet him by the front entrance - he'd find her.

And then, then he'd take her to see @Cira.

@Sarge Potteiger

Cira was in her office. Not surprisingly, she had to go over the information Domino gave her in exchange for the Ropos, so here she was, going through the various holorecording videos and endless mass of records. Apparently, Circe had cut a deal with the Black Sun leader in order to get RC 212 back...

Considering the wanted state of the man, it was unlikely to turn him in. The very public inauguration of the CIS proved that.

For now, she remained pouring over the information, utilizing MICO to go through it as well with a finetooth comb.

@Sarge Potteiger

Coryth's transport came down slowly for a landing on the surface of Fondor, a world in which she had never visited before she had been taken from known space. The ship shuddered as it touched down, which the small woman cringed at, having far too much experience with crashing ships. Little things like that made her nervous. Slowly she rose from her seat, to collect a small backpack from the overhead bin above her. A task which required her to climb upon the seat to reach. Nobody thinks about the vertically challenged.... Not a soul... She grumbled to herself as she finally managed to get a hand on her bag, that some idiot had managed to shove to the very back of the bin. Jerk. She glared at the man as she she finally came down from the chair. Being who she was, she had made him sit and wait on her to get her bag. A smirk now on her lips with the dirty look she received in return.

Soon enough she stepped off the shuttle and into the afternoon air. The walk, wasn't that much of a long one. Sarge's instructions had been quite clear. As she glanced around on the way, she couldn't help but notice the amount of troops mixed in with the normal folks. Though the civilians seemed to taper off the closer she got to the entrance she'd been instructed to go to.

Finally she had come to what she thought was the right place. Gotta be the place, I ... hope. She thought to herself as she rose up on her tippy-toes to get a view up a little higher to hopefully spot her good friend. The very one who had managed to convince her, without much trying to come and join Omega Pyre.

For so long, she had been without purpose and finally he had presented her with one such purpose. The idea of healing again, of working along side soldiers in the field, battlefield surgical units, it all excited her more than she would ever openly admit to. Looking about her eyes seemed to widen at the vastness of the base that she was so near to now. He had said it was big ... but he didn't mention it was THAT karking big. The whole thing made her feel even smaller than she was at her diminutive height of 4'11.

The civilians transitioned into workers, and still the security remained - if that was even the word at this point. She was, despite having transitioned only the space of a block or two from the starport, effectively in the middle of a military installation. Massive doors lead into the ground floor of the imposing edifice, and standing outside them were several soldiers armed heavier than normal.

One, however, held no weapon. Strapped to his side was a large blade, easily the length of his forearm. Strapped to his thigh was a pistol, and the entire front of his bulky suit was adorned with grenades and pouches. Set upon his face was a low profile mask/goggle combination that blocked all view of his face.

Everything was secured, and his head swiveled slowly to and fro as if eyeing the sea of people around him.

That is, until a shock of red hair caught his attention. Walking down the few steps to the sidewalk, he moved to greet Coryth with open arms - literally.

The tiny woman deserved a hug in greeting, for sure.

Posted 13 September 2013 - 03:02 AM
Once there, she saw a strange figure in her eyes walk down the steps towards her, no weapons in hand like the other men and open his arms to her. A quick check of the force and the reply of nothing confirmed that this was in fact Sarge.

A brilliant smile broke across her face, a look of utter happiness and joy to be returning to him. Slinging both straps onto her shoulders she broke out in a dead run for him, her arms wide open. And within seconds she was wrapping her arms around him, hugging him tightly. "It's so good to see you again, Sarge!" She spoke quickly and excitedly. "Missed you, my friend."

After the hug, she stepped back and looked him over from top to bottom. "You know, I think I prefer the other hat more, makes your eyes just ...pop." A small flourish of her hands was made to illustrate her point. Everything about her just beamed brightly, the redhead for once in a long time truly excited to be somewhere and eager for whatever challenges might follow. Perhaps all she really needed to turn her life around was to run into him and let him show her the way. Had it not been for him, she would have returned to the Jedi and gone back to dealing with the same Council messes that led her down to darker days.

Posted 13 September 2013 - 03:12 AM
The man scooped her up into a crushing bear hug, mindful of the fact that his armor would likely hurt if he squeezed too hard. "Missed you too, Cory.", he says with a laugh that's muffled by the mask he wore. "C'mon, let's get you inside.", he says, turning up the steps and motioning for her to follow with a gloved hand.

Snorting, he shook his head, opening the door for her to go in. "Yeah, and I could say the same about your hair color.", he retorts dryly with his usual sarcastic tone. Inside, she was met with a bevy of scanners and devices designed to confirm identity with zero doubt - if she thought Starport screening was bad, she'd never been to Omega territory before.

Regardless, the Sergeant Major got her through without a bother and he took her to a turbolift. "The Lady Protector is typically busy, but I gave her warning that you'd be coming." Ushering her into the lift, he hit a button that would take them upstairs.

Posted 13 September 2013 - 03:30 AM
Shyly she gave a small bashful shrug at the nickname he had called her. That was something no one had ever called her before. "You know, Cory ... I think I love that nickname." She was grinning from ear to ear at that point. So she happily followed him on inside, and it was then that the smile started to fade away. The level of security here made her nervous. A small white cylinder on her hip, a weapon she would never fork over unless desperate measures were called for. It was her life, so seeing a place like this, having all manner of security, it left her more nervous than she should have been. "The security ... seems a bit .. much." She commented softly.

Her eyes widened at the sheer amount of scanners and other identity confirming devices. Never had she been taken through this kind of security, if ever. Part of it made her more nervous than she dared admit to as she shuffled from foot to foot, always looking down at the floor as they moved through it all. She hated that being watched feeling, that it all gave her. A quick shiver down her spine and she allowed the feelings to wash away, not wanted to let nervousness and fears get to her. Not now.

"Awww," She gave him a gently nudge in the ribs with her elbow (not that he likely felt much), "Aren't cha such a sweet thing." She said with a playful wink, trying to regain some of her happiness, and joy.

After a moment of pause she slowly took a calming breath and followed onwards and into the turbolift. Her eyes followed the floor numbers as the lift took them rapidly up further into the building. After a few moments it came to a stop and they stepped out. With a wave of her hand she motioned for him to lead her onwards, as she had little clue where she was heading exactly. Soon enough they had arrived in the Lady Protector's reception area. Timidly Coryth remained a step behind and to the right of Sarge. Her eyes wandered slowly over the room, the furniture. And slowly, curiously she spread out her awareness within the Force to get a good feel for what she was about to step into. Though she was careful to keep her Empath tightly bundled, and guarded. With this many people about and in such close proximity, it was a bit of a task to manage keeping others' emotions from mixing within her own.

Posted 13 September 2013 - 03:36 AM
"Things happened that warranted the security, I'm afraid.", he says warily, not revealing much about why. But, still, she knew him well enough to know it was a good reason or he wouldn't still be here. The reception area for the Lady Protector was about as busy as one might expect, although he'd finangled her schedule to get a little bit of a lull right about now.

Nodding to the receptionist, he lead Coryth passed the desk and towards the large doors at the end. "Sweet isn't a word generally used to describe me.", he says with a bit of a chuckle that was swallowed by the metal of his facial covering. Holding up his index finger for her to wait, he knocked twice on the door and then took a firm hold on the large, ornate handle.

Pulling the door open enough for Coryth to fit through easily, he pulls the door out and then steps through after her so that it shut behind him. And just like that, they were in @Cira's office, one a bit larger than seemed necessary; though Sarge had a guess now for why that was.

"My Lady.", the man says with his typical amused tone. "Coryth Elaris; former Jedi healer.", he says as a way of introduction.

@Sarge Potteiger @Coryth Elaris

Cira lifted her head at the knock, revealing Sarge along with an unfamiliar redheaded female. That she'd heard faint chuckling was enough to warrant a rising of her brow, but she kept silent about it. Rising to her feet, she extended out a hand to Coryth.

"Welcome to the Protectorate, Miss Elaris. A pleasure." she said in greeting.

Posted 13 September 2013 - 06:44 PM
@Cira @Sarge Potteiger

"Well it should be." She finished and paused several steps back while Sarge knocked on the large double doors. Quickly she quieted her teasing, full well knowing the importance of the woman she was about to meet. As soon as he opened the door, Coryth timidly slipped through, her eyes were quick to scan the room, however. An old habit that she could not break.

"Lady Protector, it's an honor to make your acquaintance." She said as she extended her hand, gripping the woman's firmly in hers. A strength in it that didn't seem possible for someone as small as the little redhead before her. In all her years as a Jedi, she had actually met few people along Cira's rank and status, something that left her a little more tense than she would have otherwise been.

"What little I have seen, is amazing here." Even in the few blocks she had traveled, the world seemed nothing like any of the others she had seen in her twenty-nine years of life. The feelings from it, entirely different as well. Something about all this, told her she had come to the right place, to the right person, at exactly the right time.

"Sarge told me of the Protectorate, that perhaps there might be a place for a former Jedi like myself here." A soft smile returned to her, trying to hide some of the nervousness she felt for being before someone like the Lady Protector. "I've ... be away from Known Space for a long time, and I am finally to sorting out where I belong once more."Posted 13 September 2013 - 07:05 PM
@Coryth Elaris

"Well you are more than welcome to stay here, if you so should." she said, offering a warm smile. Her hand extended over to the empty seat before her. "Please sit.... would you like some starcaf?" she said, mentioning the stimcaf productline that revolved around the vine-coffee plantations on Belsavis.

"And Sarge is right.... we've been expanding our medical facilities in the past recent months. We've been doing more and more humanitarian work, especially in the border planets around the outer rim and wild space. I've a delgation that is set to go to Polis Massa, in the hopes that they are still existant, and perhaps, could share their insight in medical and archeological knowledge."

"We accept all fringe Force groups here; we have the Kro-Var, Wardens of the Sky, A Nun from G'aa'vaar'oon, and even former Jedi's like yourself. The only philosophy we do not adhere to are those of the Sith, though we do provide a measure of anti-sith training techniques for those who choose to receive them."

"Life within the Protectorate is pretty clear cut; employment with us will grant you about 5% above the Galactic Standard pay, along with medical, dental, and insurance to cover any costs. We have a highly qualified diagnostician, Dr. Thane, also a former jedi, who run Cardia Medical Space Center, the large orbital station you likely saw on the way in. Commander Robers herself is also a former Jedi... it seems, they've found a home here without the ridged expectation or regulations that the Jedi Order normaly institutes."

"I am pretty straightforward with my employees, and I look after my own. Simply speaking, pay your dues, don't bring the Protectorate any shame, and don't harm any innocents.. and you won't find any issues here."

@Cira

Coryth glanced to Sarge for the briefest of moments before she moved over taking a seat, her feet dangling a couple inches off the floor. Almost in a comedic manner, but it was something the woman was used to. Bowing her head, her smile grew a little brighter, feeling a hair more comfortable than before. "Starcaf would be wonderful, thank you kindly, Ma'am."

With great care she listened to every word the woman laid out before her. Her eyes drifting to the desk in front of her as she thought about what had been said, so much to take in. Hearing the talk of the Force groups that were welcome, brought a warmth to her heart. It was going to be nice to be a part of something, to be welcomed among so many other Force Users without the worry and restrictions that had always been placed upon the tiny redhead.

"Don't get me wrong, the Force has been my guide taking me near and far. Finding everything from humanitarian missions, to healing the sick and wounded, to days on the field in the middle of several wars, across more planets than I wish to recall, to even chasing down Sith artifacts. Though my days of doing that, Sith artifacts is over. That is one thing I will not do any longer." She shuddered at the thought. The start of her fall into the darkness had started because of the artifacts she used to hunt. "I know my limits when it comes to dark things."

"Honestly, I think I could work in many places within. But," She paused for a moment, letting silence pass between them before she spoke again,"I am used to being along side troopers. Used to being in the field. Hospitals while great, drive a woman like me mad ... in approximately three months. Tops. Uh..." She shook her head, "Sorry, I ramble when I'm nervous." She said timidly. You can stop making a fool of yourself any time now... Any time ... "But regardless of where I am, I can find something I'd love to do. A place I'd like to be. Someone I am needed to help."

She thought for a second, "Thane ... Thane, I'm afraid I don't know that one. Sounds like it should be familiar, but I can't say it is." Every time she turned around it felt like she was missing some important detail from the years she had been gone.

Coryth stopped herself, closed her eyes and took a momentary breath to collect herself. Something in the Lady's words held her attention now."I've ... never... had a paycheck." The words seemed strange coming from her lips. Soon a soft chuckle escaped her, trying to wrap her mind around that. With the Jedi she was only ever given what she needed to survive and do her job effectively. The boat she owned had been a gift from a dear friend. No star ship of her own .. not that, that would be wise for anyone to let her fly something, much less own one. "Only paycheck I can count was ... liberating funds from a Sith Lord, which has lasted many years now, seven years thereabouts and counting. Which I'm almost certain that doesn't count."

"Don't harm any innocents" The Lady had said. A hand dropped to her belt ever so slowly running her fingers over the simple inscription on the saber. "I took an oath, long ago." Even without them engraved upon her saber, she recalled them as if it were only yesterday that she'd taken that oath. "I shall do no harm, seek the weak, feeble, ill and wounded. Above all else, help those who need it most. No matter the side. No matter the cost. Those are not idle words, my Lady. From me, you do not have to worry about the lives of the innocent, for they are held above my own." Coryth meant every word and the fire in her eyes, only confirmed how seriously she took those words.

"In the end, all I want is a place where I can have purpose, have a goal. A life outside the crap of the Council." She sighed and shook her head slowly. "I thought I needed to go back to the Council for their Intel, to help my cause. Even though, they were bound to get in my way, and interfere in the good I am capable of. Which ultimately is why I'm here. I can't deal with the Council's crap. Ten years gone, and to even think of the dramatic, bureaucrats that sit there, which by the way has only worsened in my absence, I just ... can't."

@Coryth Elaris

Cira could understand where Coryth was coming from. That was one of the reasons she created Omega Pyre to begin with. She gave a nod to her. "Then I am please to reiterate that you will have no concern over having to be overly regulated like the Order, here." she said that in promise.

"As for your desire to be on the field, that is perfectly fine. We have a need for field medics, and I'm sure a healer of your abilities would be welcomed." her smile softened at the mention of a paycheck, "Yes. Paycheck. Provide quality work and you will find that you will earn monetary compensation for it, with the ability to be promoted in rank and earn higher pay as well."

"Do you have a preference on if you desire to be with the Omega Defense Force or Omega Pyre?" she asked, certain that at least Sarge had explained the difference to her.

Posted 15 September 2013 - 09:41 PM
@Cira

"Nothing would make me happier, my Lady."

After that Coryth sat quietly for a long while, almost unblinking in the quiet of the room. There were two paths she could take here, three really. She could take back what she had said about hospitals and never see war again. Which in some ways would have been amazing. It would have been great to not feel death, agony and suffering like that, but she knew in her heart that path was not for her. She needed something more in her life. She needed those do or die moments. Needed to live on the very edge with those who defended the very freedoms she loved so much.

The second, akin to a Navy. This perhaps a simpler choice. Ships, even fighters were not something that was wise to trust her with. No, that was something the Council had kept her from stepping a toe in after the third major incident and destruction of a control tower, which thankfully it was a backwater world and no one was inside at the time. Definitely and easier choice to tick off.

The third, the ground forces of Omega Protectorate. That was where she had always found herself, along side troops on the ground, standing side by side. Never raising a blade, save to bat stray shots into the ground. Even there she would not harm. Would not kill, unless there was no other way. A fine line that she walked and one that was even harder when neck deep in battle. Closing her eyes, she took in a deep breath and let the force wash through her, letting it guide her.

Finally she opened her eyes and looked to Cira. A new confidence in her eyes, a fire burning. "Omega Pyre, ma'am. There really isn't anything else that would fit me." She looked over to Sarge for a second, he had been strangely quiet, but she assumed he was letting her do this on her own, letting her have space. It was her, after all that would have to make the final decision. "I'm much more comfortable on the surface, where I can connect with the world around me. Space ... I may have been born in it, but being in ships now isn't my idea of a fun life. It's cold, it's dead, and unforgiving. So, give me the ground any day. Any time. I'd be more useful there as well. So, really I can't think of a better fit than that."

There was something else she needed to add, looking down, she sighed. "I feel I should warn you, to give me a ship to fly would be most detrimental to all those around me. It's .... not ended well in the past." An understatement if there ever was one.Posted 16 September 2013 - 12:13 AM
@Coryth Elaris

There was a small laugh, not to make fun of Coryth, but just in mild humor at her admission, "Don't worry, we have plenty of pilots that will be able to take you to the required destination for any mission." she gave a nod, "Omega Pyre it is. Although we do have ground forces in the Omega Defense Force," she informed her.

"We can start you out with a rank of Second Lieutenant and work from there. Colonel Siobhan Kerrigan leads those forces, and any questions can be directed to her." she gave her a smile. "How does that sound?"

Posted 16 September 2013 - 12:41 AM
@Cira

"Good!" Coryth chuckled nervously. "I .. wouldn't .. want to, take ... another control tower ... out." She kind of cringed on the last words. "You see, I'm good at healing, and illusions ... that's about it. Piloting ... " She shuddered quite noticeably. "No. Never in a million years. Tin cans of death, if you ask me. One of them, I swear will be the death of me someday."

She lofted a brow at the rank. Ranks were something she'd never really dealt with, always calling someone by their first name. Or last if they were military. Ranks she never really got. "Ranks? Oh boy!" The nervous tremble in her voice quite obvious. The nerves even more clear in her eyes, not so certain of what she was stepping in the middle of. Coryth cocked her head to the side, clearly it was something she rarely dealt with."I suppose it's needed, isn't it? I .. I..." Stopped and bit at her lip, to take a second to collect her thoughts. "I ... can barely remember names. Even when I was in the midst of war, always referred to names, over ranks as I never remember who was who. I just recalled who was in charge and that was about it. Even then, I was usually over them. So ... it's odd for me to be sitting here, thinking of taking a rank on."

Slowly she sat back and blew out a breath. The force was pulling on her, tugging hard, nagging her that this was the right path. She'd been brought here fro a reason and needed to just flow the road the Force had led her down. Finally after another deep breath, she looked over the desk and to Cira. "The Force led me this far. Even now, it pulls on me, telling me I'm in the right place, at the right time, for exactly the right reasons. So, I must follow what it has planned for me. That being said, while I have some nerves, some reservations, it sounds like the right thing for me. It ... actually not only sounds good, but feels good as well."Posted 16 September 2013 - 03:46 PM
@Coryth Elaris

"Then I'm glad it does," Cira told her with a soft smile. "No need to fret too much over the ranks... I'll come to you. To be frank, those who build up camaraderie out there in the field end up going on a first name basis or so... just in offical matters, we have the ranks there for a reason."

"Do you have any other questions?" she asked her, leaning back into her chair. "I'm sure Sarge is more than willing to show you around the Tower, get you your security clearances and introduce you to the other medics."

Posted 16 September 2013 - 06:11 PM
@Cira

She nodded slowly to the Lady Protector once more. Still some part of her was trying to take in all that had just been said and happened. It all seemed to go by in a flash for her. "I'll try not to, it just is strange to me. I'm used to three ranks and knowing what everyone was usually by age alone. So, it's going to take getting use to." Then a perhaps foolish question popped into her head, "I suppose with ranks in play that means orders are as well?" She'd been so used to doing everything on her own, making every mission choice on a whim, the idea that someone else would be in charge felt a little daunting to her. "I'm sorry, that might have seemed silly for me to say, but I'm used to loose assignments where things are more in my hands and up to me than anything else and having to rarely report back to the Council." She suspected there was a reason the Council rarely called her in, something to do with often sticking both feet into her mouth. "It might take time to get used to things being a little tighter, more hard lines and all but I'll do my best to adjust."

Her eyes moved back to Sarge, then back to the Lady. "I think, other than that one, odd ... little question, I think I'm fine. I don't have any further questions from here really. Just a whole lot of changes I need to get used to. And perhaps a new place I might soon be able to call home." An idea that softened the expression upon the little Jedi's face, melting away some of the obvious nerves and putting her into a much more relaxed mood.Posted 16 September 2013 - 09:58 PM
@Coryth Elaris

"Ranks normally come to play just in executing orders that come from the higher ups. The way that it works is that the higher ranked individuals get the briefing and in turn, debrief you. In terms of field medicine, it can be anything from delegating which triage tent you'll be working on to having you oversee healers of your own. All in all, just a bit more organized way to work with each other... no different from the knights and master roles who might have been in charge of overseeing certain areas." she told her, hoping to smooth over any fears she may have.

"It's not a silly question at all. To be frank, it is in all likelyhood that you will be in charge of healing a small platoon, assigned to them to take care of their needs and the like. You will still have your freedom, with little to report unless necessarily."

"But if that is all, " she stood and extended her hand out to Coryth, "Welcome to the Protectorate, Miss. Elaris."

Posted 17 September 2013 - 02:40 AM
@Cira

Listening to every single word, Coryth was now understanding a bit more about how things were going to work around here. "It makes sense. A bit more organized, maybe a bit stricter, because I'm certain if I say no to an order things won't go so well for me. But, not that I would do that unless I felt the order violated my morals and ethics." She nodded again, "Just a little different but I understand better now. It's comforting to hear it put that way." A few of her fears, and reservations were fading away, thanks to Cira's efforts.

It made her feel better to have the Lady inform her it was no silly question. "A small platoon? How big exactly is that?" She asked softly, it seemed like something that was bound to be larger than anything she'd dealt with before. She was used to twelve to fourteen men, max that she managed. "My last question I promise." She followed, to let the Cira know that the little Jedi was truly done now.

Rising to her feet, she reached across the table and once more shook the woman's hand firmly. "Thank my Lady, you've been most helpful. I appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to see someone like me and to help me find my place in the Protectorate. You don't know how much it means to me, and I promise I will not let you down, ma'am." She smiled brightly, a sparkle back in her eyes, "It's good to know I can wake up tomorrow and have a true purpose again. To be able to help others, like I use to, it warms my heart." With that she gave a small bow to the Lady Protector, and then looked over to Sarge, waiting for him to take the lead from here.

@Coryth Elaris

"A platoon, Coryth, is about forty men. Give or take a small handful, really." Giving a nod to the Lady Protector, he moved to the door at the front of the office and pushed open the door, sweeping a hand to motion Coryth through. "C'mon, I'll show you downstairs to the infirmary." The barracks, armory and infirmary comprised about four of the lower floors and were the center of activity for the massive Tower's employees.

Before leaving with the tiny redhead, Sarge paused, giving a long look at Cira, NVG's whirring as they focused in on her. His right hand lifted up to his chest and tapped twice on his breast where his heart would be. A thank you from a man who's face was hidden. Nonverbal, but still just as important to him.

It felt good being able to give someone else a purpose in life. It well and truly did. Smiling below his mask, he followed after the diminutive ex-Jedi, door closing behind the pair.

@Sarge Potteiger

She almost seemed startled when Sarge finally spoke, she gave a firm nod to him. Forty wasn't as many as she thought, way more than she'd ever had to deal with before at once but it was something she could handle. Quickly she moved out of the Lady Protector's office and waited a moment for Sarge. She hadn't seen what happened and didn't think much on it. Right now, she was enjoying the moment, and intense happiness washing through her.

A glance to Sarge, she once more smiled bright feeling incredibly good about this. "So, infirmary?" She said, that bounce back in her voice, the nervousness all but gone now that she was out of the room with the Lady Protector. With a flourish she motioned for him to take the lead. As massive as the building was, there was little chance she'd ever find her way around on her own. Certainly not for a long time.

"She's kind .. Not what I expected." Coryth said softly, almost whispered.

Posted 17 September 2013 - 07:36 PM
@Cortyh Elaris

Giving a nod at 'infirmary', he lead her back to the lift which opened dutifully for the two of them. Pausing to pull a small ID from a clear plastic screen on his left forearm, he slid it through a scanner next to the floor buttons and tapped the stylized 'I' two floors above ground level. With the speed typical of turbolifts, they sped downward and to their destination.

"She takes care of her own.", he says with a bit of a smile to his voice. "It's why most of us are satisfied with our jobs. We're taken care of. She's smart enough to realize employee happiness is essential for good business." And that was entirely true no matter the field of work you were in.

Happy employees were always preferential to those who hated what they did. "You'll fit right in, my friend." With that, the door opened, and the pair exited into a hive of buzzing orderlies and doctors, all wearing Omega uniforms as soldiers and employees sat and waited for their turn to be seen by a doctor or to get news on a surgery for others.

That didn't most of the staff from pausing at the pair. It was a combination of her hair and the presence of the Sergeant Major; the same Sergeant Major who had shot Cira some weeks before. Fear as the applicable word.

"It makes sense. Just you expect someone of her status to be a bit more hard-lined, but I can just tell she is not a woman I would want to cross."No, there was just that feeling about Cira, piss her off, or kark with one of her people and someone was going to die. It was that kind of feeling she'd pulled off of her.

That feeling of being watched, she found the strangest of things as they stepped off the lifts. Coryth elbowed Sarge a bit and stood on her tip toes to make sure her quiet whisper was heard. "Umm... There seems to be a lot of folks staring... It's not me, is it?" She said with a nervous glance to him. This was not something she was liking in the least. The tiny woman knew she was bound to stand out, but still never quite been stared at like this .. since the last time she chose to wear short sleeves and reveal what she always hid from view.

Empathy was a pain, even now reading the fear from the pair of them entering, she wasn't sure exactly but could only guess it had more to do with him than her. "What exactly did you do to these people? Far too much fear in the air." She asked, still whispering before she finally dropped off her tip toes.
With thisnew introduction and more people about, nervous energy that always thrived in places like this. From hospitals to infirmaries, only the building changed, the feelings did not.

Sarge paused, looking around slowly before pointing down the hall towards a counter at the far end. "Go there, talk to the supervisor. I'd only make this more awkward for you. They'll show you around." He turned to face the turbolift once more before pausing. "It's not what I did to them; I never did anything to them. But it's who I did something to.", he says, before stepping into the lift.

Turning once more to face her, hands clasped in the small of his back, he cast her a gaze from behind his goggles, shame radiating off of him in waves. "I shot the Lady Protector.", he says. And with that, the doors shut, and he was spirited away.
