To Heal A Hero

"I feel cold," she answered, solidly determining now that the voice belonged to a stranger. She had no idea where she was, but she had finally come to the realization that she had been dreaming--and now was no longer dreaming. Still, darkness enveloped her, eyes either not functioning or impaired by some external means. "I want a fair trial, or I want to at least see again before you send me to judgment."

"Gen" Saran managed, beginning to remove herself from the woman's mind. She winced as the pain from her wounds washed over her again. Wounds that shouldn't be open. Wounds from as far back as Dac. That was the last time she had been shot in the hand like that. It hurt, but she couldn't worry about it until she was sure [member="Geneviève Lasedri"] was safe. "It's alright." She wasn't sure about the woman's condition. I should have learned to heal, she thought, but she knew she needed to heal up herself. At least nothing more was opening. "You're safe."

"gen" regore siad hapely suprised "it is oke your not on trial, your at the Docter" he lookd around the room and then back at [member="Geneviève Lasedri"]

Yetari heard her complaint of a lack of sight, and found himself silently wondering if he had screwed something up as he looked into [member="Geneviève Lasedri"]'s eyes. He pulled out a light, and shone it on her eyes to see how it would react. Seeing no contraction in the pupils, the doctor began muttering to himself as he paced about to think about what to do. He had mostly fixed up one, but now she was possibly permanently blind and the other woman was quite injured herself now. One problem solved itself and two more appeared!

"You two!" He pointed to [member="Regor Laxvan"] and [member="Mrrew"], "Keep your friend here some company to calm her down while I work on what seems to be my newest patient."

Yetari knelt down again next to [member="Saran Drast"], scanning the strange woman over before going to work on her wounds with bacta and his other tools, "You need to worry about yourself right now, so stay still while I do my job. She's going to be fine right now, besides the potential blindness, but you look like you just got out of a warzone."

Drast had become clearer and began to reassure Gen that there was no trial; she was in good company, wherever she was. And that was [member="Regor Laxvan"]'s voice. That was enough to calm down the Benefactor, panic already beginning to subside. There was a recognition of pain that was gradually returning to her, but it was more of an ache and less of the torment that she had felt prior to gaining consciousness.

"Did they take my other eye?" she asked after a moment of placidity, quelling the adrenaline that had begun to pump through her body in the moments of her waking. She had been blind in her right eye for years, but losing both eyes was not something she enjoyed the idea of. "Frak, tell me I'm alright."

His first patient's lack of sight was becoming more concerning by the second, causing Yetari to quickly move to her side and use his sensor to try and find any problems while inspecting her eyes for himself. The right one was white and seemed like it had been useless for some time, but the deep brown one seemed like it should be alright...unless he was missing something. It made him think about how young she was again, and how cruel it was for the galaxy to do such things to people like her and his friend Kana. If only he knew other ways to help people, like [member="Saran Drast"] and her strange ability.

"Don't worry...you're alright." He spoke in as calming a manner as he could muster for the young warrior, but there was still a hint of worry in it, "I'll try to have you up and going in no time. Then you can tell me more about just how stupid you were to get in a fight with a Sith."

The sensor continued to work, trying to pinpoint any possible problems, and Yetari prepared himself to not only try and help if something turned up, but also prepared himself to give the bad news if [member="Geneviève Lasedri"] was permanently blind for some reason.

Regore lookd at [member="Geneviève Lasedri"] and [member="Yetari Sellix"] "doc could you please fix her eye before acusing her or any of us of stupidity" he siad sligtly annoyd.

Saran's head began to droop as she entered a force trance. Everything slowed and eventually faded as the girl started healing herself. Those watching would begin to notice the burn on her hand slowly beginning to heal. It would take a while for her to fully heal, but she could start to now, at least.

She was able to see a little clearer now, though not through her physical eyes--rather, the eyes of the Force. Regor and Saran were to her side, the latter looking a little winded, but otherwise alright. observed the operating table she had been placed upon, and the operator himself. "Well, I survived. So that's a win," she commented, feeling a little damaged in the pride department. That was right, there was a Sith, which explained perfectly why she was currently in this state.

"Whatever happened... Thanks." Now, if the doctor could just fix her eye... Complete reliance on Force sight was alright for someone like Saran, but Gen liked seeing things optically as well.

"Surviving is barely a win when it ends up with you on a surgery table...and with a potentially ruined eye, so hold your thanks until I finish up."

Yetari found the rest of [member="Geneviève Lasedri"]'s body to be in stable condition and on the path to recovery, but he couldn't figure out what was wrong with her eye. She most likely hadn't been frozen recently in carbonite so that probably wasn't giving her any temporary blindness, and the rest of her body was reacting just fine to the bacta...so what could it be? The doctor pondered on this question while using a small light to see if the eye reacted to it, and was disappointed when it did not. Was it damaged somehow in their battle? Not likely, since there were no signs of tearing or anything along the physical lines. Maybe...it was mental? Was her own mind making her this way for whatever reason? The mind of a sentient being was a powerful thing, and there were cases where things such as temporary blindness and body failure occurred because the patient wasn't in the right mind.

"I'm going to be honest with you young lady, I'm not exactly sure what's wrong with your eye. My scanners aren't really picking up much and as far as I know from observation it seems just fine, but obviously it is not so there is a bit of a predicament here. I need you to concentrate, and calmly think about everything that happened up to this point. What was the last thing you saw, and could something have affected you in that fight?"

Was he... admonishing her? Like a little girl? That grated a bit on Geneviève's nerves. She had always hated feeling anything less than utterly independent, no matter if it was true or not. But one should never complain outright to a person who literally has your life in their hands.

She decided to skip the groaning and simply answer his question. "Last I remember, I was thrown against a wall and my nose was shoved up my brain." Of course, that was a bit of an artistic way of putting it, but it was not far removed from reality. "I couldn't move. It was one of them."

"I'm pretty sure your brain was already a bit messed up since you chose to get involved in a fight with one of...them."

He was reminded of a certain young friend of his in this one's humorous attitude in the face of something so dramatic, and flicked the side of her head with his finger in annoyance. There were too many brave people in the galaxy that were sincerely trying to do the right thing only to be crushed by some sadist with force powers, and Yetari was at the limit of seeing such brave people reduced to...this. It was enough to make even a coward want to pick up a rifle and charge at the nearest Sith, if at least out of rage at how they've conquered so much of the galaxy.

"Well I'm sorry to say this, but you might be permanently blind." the doctor moved behind the table near her head and sighed in frustration, "All I can do for you is demand that you get placed in either a proper hospital or at least a decent place to rest while you recover, and hopefully your eyesight with do the same. If you work with any medics or doctors in your suicidal group I would make them aware and have them assist. I'm...sorry."
